New-ish Thai restaurant conveniently located 7 minutes from my house! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small - only 4 tables inside, very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the lunch specials/ chicken pad see ew and shrimp pad Thai. The pad see ew was good, however the shrimp pad Thai was exceptionally tasty. I highly recommend and returning to try other Thai dishes!

Came to Kin-D with a colleagues as we were craving Thai. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy little joint - it had to be good and didn't disappoint[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . We started off with spicy Edamame and Gyoza with chicken - both were excellent . The mains were chicken pad Thai and chicken fried rice . Excellent along with the friendly service ! Definitely recommend!

    Chicken with basil lunch special

Ate in and really enjoyed the pad see ew lunch. We also ordered the boat noodle soup and chicken basil lunch. Pad see ew noodles were super tasty, noodles were soft and the wonton and salad that comes with the lunch special made it all very enjoyable. Boat noodle soup was alright, something is missing but I can't put finger on it. Maybe some spicyness? Still enjoyable and hit the spot on a cold day. Ground chicken with basil and sliced green beans was pretty good too. Again I love the lunch special because it comes with other items. It was a bit too much fish sauce but the veggies tasted fresh and crunchy. The only thing I would say could make it more enjoyable is the meat they use is very tough and thick. I can't wait to come back and try their lunch specials again and hopefully I just got a batch of tougher meat than usual. Service was super pleasant and attentive. Thank you for making our lunch enjoyable and tasty! We'll be back :)

Tried Kin-D Thai Kitchen for the first time and loved it! I ordered the pad see ew with chicken and a Thai tea--both were absolutely delicious. My friend ordered several different dishes and everything we tried was really good. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant looks pretty new and fresh, but they told us it's been open for almost 2 years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small shop with only a few tables, but the space is clean and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A great spot for tasty, authentic Thai food!

Had the yellow curry lunch special yesterday and I was not disappointed. The potatoes were nice and soft (other thai places never seem to cook the potatoes enough). The chicken was great and I enjoyed the side lunch salad. The portion size was also great for the price. Highly recommend.

This happy find was a result of good Yelp reviews. I always check yelp in new areas when my girlfriend asks, "where should we eat?" Takes out 90% of the indecision time. In a corner of a small shopping mall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very small dining room only 4 tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great food and portions. I have to go down here every 10 days or so for the lunch special. I've tasted 3 different dishes and everything has been stellar, but you can't ever go wrong with the Chicken Pad Thai . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Big kitchen behind a small order counter window[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Might have found my new favorite Thai place in LA. Have been here twice and everything I've tried is amazing. The lunch plate is the way to go - your choice of entree, 2 -piece cream cheese wanton, and a side salad. We've tried the pad Thai, pad see ew and panang curry. Plus highly recommend the Thai tea. The service is amazing, everything is super friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is small with only a few small tables inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My guess is that it's very popular for take out, and I can see why.

The service here was friendly, and the food was good. The only disconnect (when comparing Kin-D to the former Thai restaurant which resided here) is that although this is more clean/modern, the prices went up and portions went down (less and smaller) comparatively. That being said, it's also the post-Y2KXX era of inflation, so things can't remain the same bargains as they used to for retailers and service providers to survive in the modern economy. I had the Pad See Ew, which is basically like a Thai version of Chinese Chow Fun, with the broad rice noodles pan/wok fried with sweet soy sauce and broccoli along with a choice of protein. My advice is "noodles are cheap with low cost of goods, so maybe increase the portion size to survive as a business because folks are accustomed to bigger portions from Asian restaurants and do family style dining often. It won't hurt the profit margins dramatically to add noodles, but the reputation and incremental business might benefit as a long term strategy, especially for repeat business and customer loyalty. So, I'd recommend this place for people to try, especially local residents in the neighborhood to support small business. Parking is easy in the shared lot.

When we arrived it was apparent the "chef@ was also the hostess. As a result we waited quite a while to be greeted and seated. I should note that the chef did arrive about thirty minutes later. I ordered the Waan Om Khom Kluean yellow chicken curry and my guest had the deeb Sao Thai Pad Thai with shrimp. I also ordered a Thai ice tea and the server forgot to bring it. I had to remind her after my meal was almost finished. To me the chicken curry had a terrible unappetizing presentation. It looked like shredded chicken and big lumps of potatoes. In fast that's what it was. While the taste was pretty good, the over abundance of potatoes felt like a filler for less chicken. It was a decent dish but far from one of my favorites. The Pad Thai looked a lot better. My guest said it was good, not great, and that he'd order it again. Now to the price. Nearly $70 including the two dishes, one Thai ice tea and rice. This was not fine dining. I realize they have bills to pay but it was much more than I've paid at other Thai restaurants for similar meals. All parking is on the street. One need a bit of courage to park on PCH as passing cars make it scary to open the driver's door. Cars were flying by in the 40's and 50's and it's a very unsafe parking location.

Our larb salad was painfully salty to the point where it couldn't be enjoyed on its own and the kang kio wan curry was somehow watery and bland. Both the pork and beef were overcooked and tough. Unfortunately that the meal turned out to be such a flop, the chicken was the only thing that saved this from being a single star.

When you dine in they bring metal cups with an icy cold carafe of cold water to your table. Customer service is efficient. The person behind the counter is very soft spoken and gives you a slight smile but gets your order correct every time. Hands down so don't argue with me they have the absolute BEST orange chicken. It has a slight crunch on the outside while tender and juicy in the inside. The orange sauce is perfection. It has a great balance of salty and sweet without being overly sweet like an orange candy. It's not tart and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. They put the right amount of sauce so it is not drenched. Pair it with the garlic rice and the salad that crops and fresh no dressing is even needed. Order this and you will be happy. The regular white rice is good too! The Zapp chicken is crunchy, juicy and spicy. I normally cannot eat spicy but this one is perfect. Since my 24 year old son told me about this restaurant I've been here four times in the past month. When I suggested one of our usual dinner spots, my wife said, "Hey, let's go to that Thai place you've been wanting to try." Well, reporting back. It's outstanding. From the dramatic Polynesian-inspired roofline and colorful glass panels that give the space an almost church-like feel to the warm, inviting interior, the place has a ton of character. But the real star is the food. Every dish was incredibly flavorful, perfectly prepared, and not the least bit greasy. Honestly, just delicious. The portions are generous too. We ordered three dishes and still came home with leftovers. The highlight of the evening was meeting Ben, whose parents opened the restaurant many years ago. His dad still comes in every morning to make the curry bases from scratch. That kind of family pride and dedication really shows in the food. What a delightful place. Five stars for the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We'll definitely be back. 5 stars!

Everything was ordered EXTRA SPICY -- Level 5 through the online menu. When we got home, we took our first bites and immediately thought, "Wait... did they give us someone else's food?" No spice. Zero. Barely any flavor at all. This wasn't Level 5. This wasn't Level 1. This was apparently Level 0: Thai food for people who are afraid of black pepper. So we called the restaurant. The woman who answered told us, incredibly confidently, that they don't make their food spicy. Excuse me... what? This is a Thai restaurant. We have ordered spicy food from Swan Thai before. And, more importantly, your own online ordering system literally has spice levels, including Level 5. So either the online menu is completely meaningless, or someone in the restaurant has decided that customers no longer deserve to know what they're ordering. We asked to speak with a manager. Apparently, there was no manager. We asked for the owner. We were told the owners "come and go as they want." So who exactly is running this place? Is it just a group project where everyone shows up, does whatever they want, and hopes nobody asks questions? The food was so bland and disappointing that we barely ate it. And honestly, after the ridiculous phone conversation, we didn't even have much interest in finishing it. What makes this worse is that I used to like Swan Thai. That's why this was so disappointing. Restaurants can have an off day, but when the food is wrong, the online menu contradicts what an employee tells you, and there apparently isn't even a manager available to address the issue, that's more than an off day. Swan Thai, you used to be much better. Somewhere along the way, the food lost its flavor and the customer service apparently lost its direction. I won't be making the mistake of ordering here again.
