My guest and I split the Fried rice with chicken and the Sizzling Seafood. Both were cooked to perfection and well presented No extra sauce was needed for these dishes as they were perfectly flavored. We will definitely return here again. As for parking, the large lot gets really crowded as it's shared by about two dozen businesses including banks, numerous restaurants, a Home Goods, Home Depot and In-n-Out. We ordered: PAD SEE EWE- (chicken) this was tasty. CRAB FRIED RICE- this was also tasty. LOVED this EGG ROLLS- loved that it came out super hot. This was ok. CRYING TIGER- husband liked this but didn't like the dipping sauce. It was just ok for me. LEMONGRASS CHICKEN- this was too bready for me. KHASOI- the flavoring was good. There aren't many Thai restaurants in Torrance, California but Ubon Thai Kitchen is a great choice when you've got that craving for Thai food. The restaurant is quite small and you may have a tiny wait. The service is impeccable! All the staff are very friendly and they are hustling to serve you quickly. I'm panang obsessed, so that's always gonna be ordered. Panang curry is creamy and perfectly spiced. I couldn't stop scooping rice so I could ladle more of the delicious curry onto it. The pad Thai (with pork or other protein) was silky smooth. The portion is generous and the noodles are slightly moister than most restaurants. Very tasty. Lastly spicy eggplant with chicken (or other protein) is made with black bean sauce complemented with basil, peppers, and onions. This would make a delicious and nutritious weekday meal. Came here for lunch after a day out shopping. We were starving and this was in our area so we decided to make a stop. The waitress who was there was pretty quiet. She took our orders and wasn't to enthusiastic and just did what she had to do. I was a bit disappointed because the plate I wanted to order was no longer available even though it was still on the menu. I ended up settling on Pad See Ew. The food was good but on the pricier side and portions were not too big. It seems like this is more of a to go location because a few people came in to pick up their orders. The food tastes amazing. The young man that greeted me and explained the lunch specials was extremely courteous and informative. My doctor informed me that I have 'celiac disease'. I guess that's why I "act" so "silly". Bad jokes aside, rice noodles and black rice meals, (popular in Thai dishes) don't contain GMO wheat flour and they are also, so incredibly delicious. That's why I finally came here after passing this neighborhood place for years. I was not disappointed. I was beginning to think that 'gluten' meant 'deliciousness' since most of the (gluten-free) food I have been eating was also (deliciousness-free.) They are not advertised as gluten free of course, but my stomach feels wonderful tonight after my rice noodles and black rice with beef and shrimp. It's a miracle. My wife loves the food as much as I do, primarily because of the fresh vegetables and the occasional hint of lemongrass in the dishes. Surprising hidden gem with distinctive Thai food! I haven't had Thai food similar to this spot. Nice location, super convenient to eat here whenever we go to costco. I haven't had the best luck with Thai food in Torrance so this is my favorite spot in the city now! It is pretty poppin for a hole in the wall. But that's a testament to the good food, and they're always quick, kind and helpful. I would say the standout menu item at this store are the noodle soups. I noticed that they added more glass noodles, but they cut back on the lettuce portion. The pad thai with chicken was cooked perfect perfectly this time we really liked the balance of flavor. Pad thai and pad see ew are always a classic favorite with us. The yellow curry chicken has improved a lot. I like that they cut the potatoes into smaller cubes and added more chicken into the curry. This is a decent Thai place and one of the better options for Thai food in Torrance. We order takeout from here and via Doordash often. They have tables inside as well but it's not too big of a place. I've tried their pad see ew, pad thai, and chicken yellow curry. Sometimes the pad thai is way too saucy for my liking and the pad see ew noodles are sometimes kinda stuck together, but the flavor is pretty good. All three dishes are enjoyable and tasty but don't hold up too well after a day if you want to save your leftovers. Overall, I like this place but I don't love it. After church, my sister, my mother and I decided to take the priest who officiated the mass we just attended to dinner. My mother suggested Ubon Thai Kitchen since her dining experience at this place was excellent. We're glad that we followed our mom's suggestion because the food and the service did not disappoint.
