I think same owners as bowl Thai (closed), sweet rice and the Thai hot pot. Bowl Thai was prop the best/most authentic Thai spot in the South Bay so this is also on par. I tried their gai kua and got it medium spicy. Just a note they do Thai spice levels so medium is more like spicy. If you don't like spice get no spice or mild. The dish was similar to pad see ew but no soy sauce and it had shiitake mushrooms which I love. Tasted amazing but only complaint is that it was mostly noodles. Bowl Thai used to be one of my favorite spots, which makes this review disappointing to write. The quality has become inconsistent. Today we ordered a beef salad and found a hair in the food. My wife politely brought it up, and the server simply removed the hair and said they'd let the kitchen know. That was the extent of the response--no apology, no replacement, no real effort to make it right. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. The last time we were here, there was a fly in the fried rice. At that point, it's hard to brush it off as bad luck. This place charges premium prices, and with that comes an expectation of basic food safety and quality control. It's a shame because the flavors are great when everything goes right--but paying top dollar while worrying about what might be in the food makes it difficult to justify coming back. Ambiance is awkward after you find a hair in your food and they don't really resolve it. I really hope they tighten things up, because Bowl Thai has the potential to be great again. This used to be my absolute favorite Thai food restaurant until they moved. I've been to their new location 3 times and was disappointed each time. Food quality is not as good, the chicken in the pad woon sen seemed rubbery with a strange texture. The chicken skewers did not taste fresh, like they had just been reheated. They also removed some of our favorites dishes from the menu and the overall taste is not the same. The menu here is a bit more expanded than the other location that closed down, with Thai bbq dishes added, and we usually go with the pad see eww, yum neua (grilled beef salad), and will get a different stir fry dish to share. I love Bowl Thai Grill. I used to love it more when they only had the Bowl Thai location in Tozai Plaza. Now that they have closed that location and only operate out of the Pacific Square location, I find myself at odds with the menu. I despise having to choose between ordering things like noodle soups and curry at Sweet Rice OR getting their fried items at Bowl Thai Grill. I know, they're right next to each other and I can simply walk over to the other one. For people with limited time, making two separate orders at two different restaurants is not ideal. Let me paint the picture for you: being on hold on the phone to make orders at two separate restaurants and then having to wait in the line at two separate restaurants makes this an ordeal for a single person to complete for their family. It's significantly easier if you have multiple people to help with this or if you eat in person at the restaurants, because they allow you to eat items from either restaurant in the outside patio area. Alternatively, you can choose to only order from items on one menu to simplify things for your family, but someone is always bound to make a sacrifice. I love Bowl Thai, but I miss the old Bowl Thai. I hope they have the ability to open a singular location with their entire menu again someday. I would order from them more often if they did. read more

I called in an order (for pick up) and since I was gonna come through, made orders next door as well. "15 minutes," they said. No biggie, we weren't too far. CRISPY PORK: The "something new" Hubbers wanted to try. Comes with Chinese broccoli, white rice and a perfectly friend sunny side up egg. The meat is seasoned so well, it needed nothing else. Chinese broccoli was also prepped nicely and the egg added texture to bites. BEEF SATAY: Seasoned to perfection and was great on its own! What made it even better was the chimichurri sauce - easily my top 3 and far better compared to the ones from some steakhouses I've been to. (Hubbers and I agree it's definitely way better than Fogo de Chao's!) A must-have dish! PAD KEE MOW: Hubber's main which he shared, of course. It's his go-to at any Thai eatery. He ordered it with beef and no alterations. The amount of noodles was perfectly portioned to the protein. Whoa, each bite had a bite! Definitely spicy but flavor is on point! We go to this plaza for sweet rice and know the Bowl Thai is connected to it so we had a feeling it was good. It's a similar concept where you order at the counter bring to your table. They have self serve water and extra sauces you can bring to your table as well which are really tasty. We couldn't decide what to order because everything looked so good but decided on the Thai ribs with rice, e-Saan sausage salad and pad woon sen. This was more than enough food for two people and fed us both for two meals! The Thai ribs were AMAZING. They were tender and amazing with the green sauce they were served with. The papaya salad that it came with was addicting. They give you a good amount of ribs and meat. The e-saan salad was also good. The dressing was very flavorful and they gave a lot of sausage. I would definitely ask for the dressing on the side if you are sensitive to sour/salty flavors as it definitely is very strong. The pad woon sen was also great, and a large portion. Great casual Thai spot with plenty of seating and solid food! Visited Bowl Thai Grill for the first time on a weekday around 6:30pm and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to find seating. It was decently busy but there were still lots of open tables. When you walk in, there's a main seating area where you order, but also a separate space to the right with even more tables, including multiple long tables which are perfect if you're coming with a big group or want a little more space. You order at the counter, get a number, and then pick your own table. The food gets brought out to you. Forks/utensils, napkins, and to-go boxes are all self-serve at the front. I appreciate how this makes it easy to pack up leftovers without having to ask the servers for to-go boxes. I had the chicken pad see eew and it was delicious! It came out nice and hot, and the portion was generous. I only finished about a fourth of it (I have a smaller appetite), and took the rest home. The water machine wasn't working when I visited, but they had bottled water and other drinks available for purchase. Overall, it's a nice, solid, casual Thai spot! My go-to order: * Beef Satay- Beef is always perfectly cooked, never too chewy, always juicy and pairs perfectly with the peanut sauce and a few dashes of fish sauce/Thai chili. We usually skip on the rice and order two salads instead-- the cucumber salad and the papaya salad are bomb.com * Nam Kao Tod- the fermented pork sausage is tangy and so addicting! The crispy rice and shredded coconut give a great texture. This salad hits all the notes-- sweet, salty, sour, spicy, crunchy goodness. A good runner up for salads is also the E-Saan Sausage! Cured sausage a little different from the fermented sausage in the previous salad, and it comes with a side of sticky rice. Delish! It's a great place to eat for a casual lunch or dinner. You order at the counter and they'll bring your dishes to wherever you're sitting. Tables are available both inside and outside. My favorite dish I order almost every time is nam kao tod. The owner introduced my to it when I came during their soft opening, and I'm glad it's stayed on the menu all these years. It's a salad with delicious portions of crispy rice, fermented sausage, ginger, and more! It's tossed with chili lime dressing, so if you enjoy sour or vinegar-y food you'll love this dish!
