This place is a must try!! I have been 3 times is the past week, and I enjoyed it every time. My family ordered different salads which were all enjoyable! We had "The Buff N Cluck", "Santorini", "Chicken Caesar Salad", and the "Beef Stro" salads. The baked potato is amazing! I got the chili cheese baked potato with added bacon and steak and omg it was great and so full of flavor. I got the piña colada smoothie and it was so delicious, as are the other ones I've tried in the past. I was able to sample the soups and the chili and all of them are delicious. My favorite might be either the broccoli & cheddar or the chicken tortilla. I sampled the juices as well and they all taste fresh and delicious. They're all organic! My new favorite is the mandarin. I tried their açaí and it is also really good! I'll definitely be back to get an actual açaí bowl soon. This place is always clean, including the bathroom. Great customer service as always, and nice to dine in. Thank you! 10/10 I will definitely be back! Highly recommended.
I can't believe I've missed out frequenting this spot. Fresh, tasty and so many choices. A perfect salad, soup and baked potato restaurant. I got the chicken Waldorf salad which needed a little more dressing but it was good. The clam chowder was delicious. We were given samples of other soups and all were very delicious. I believe they make everything in house.
Food is always fresh. Healthy ingredients that make you feel good. Customer service is always wonderful. The staff always greets you and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The restaurant is clean, bright and comfortable.
For a $10 smoothie (LG) $7 (reg) with limited smoothie options I was expecting something super yummy. My group and I were in the area and saw smoothies advertised outside, we swung by and thought our drinks were a little too sweet and not as fresh/tropical as we expected (I know, it's more of a food spot nor a tropical food spot) but a girl can dream! My friends green drink was okay, she got the regular size and ended up throwing away the last of it. lots of seating and no wait. Great customer service from the gentleman in the front & menu options! I'd come back to try the food options but skip the smoothie.
Rick, the owner and all of his employees , were incredibly kind and welcoming! He offered me free soup samples, which was really thoughtful, and he made the whole experience feel very welcoming and friendly. His customer service was amazing, and you can genuinely tell that he cares about his customers and the experience they have. I really appreciated his kindness and generosity. Thank you to the employees aswell :) Definitely a great owner and someone who makes you want to come back! Highly recommend Toss Up!
Walking into The Toss Up for the first time to a warm greeting by owner Rick and teamsters. Food and drinks are amazing. Lots of flavor in this healthy comfort food. Now one of my go-to spots when I return home to visit.
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in explaining the menu since it was our first time. I love the idea of a fast casual eatery that has healthy options. And I don't think I've seen another place in the area that has big baked potatoes on their menu! The food was tasty, the space was clean and I loved that they were playing 90s/2000s R&B videos on the screen. No issue parking in the adjacent lot when we arrived, but I could see it getting a bit busy during lunch times with other restaurants in the same plaza. Looking forward to coming back!
When you're in the mood for something healthy yet tasty, The Toss Up has been my go-to for salads! They have a good variety of set options or you can build your own. My favorite is their Baja Salad. It comes with romaine, mixed greens, corn, black beans, red onion, cherry tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, cheddar cheese, tortilla strips, and grilled chicken. I appreciate the variety of fresh ingredients in this salad! It usually comes with a spicy jalapeno dressing, but I prefer their BBQ Ranch. "The Toss Up" Cobb is pretty good as well. This one has romaine, cherry tomatoes, avocado, hard boiled egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, roast turkey, bacon, and red onions. All of their salads come with a piece of flat bread. too. Their pre-set salads are definitely a better deal than if you try to select each ingredient when you build your own bowl. Another thing I like about The Toss Up is they have other pasta, baked potato, and soup options in case you feel like you need something extra on top of a salad. We tried their Loaded Baked Potato Bowl and their Cheddar Broccoli Baked Potato Bowl, and they were HUGE! Definitely good for sharing. We usually order online ahead of time, and the estimated wait time always seems oddly long, but sometimes when we get to the restaurant, there aren't too many people there. Not sure if the estimated pick up time system needs to be calibrated?
My Mistake! You ever go to a restaurant and they do things sooo good/right you realize you judged them against previous *meh* experiences? Well, that's what I realized today. I stopped in to pick up lunch for myself and my family. I ordered two shrimp alfredos and two cesar salads. I always get my salads with the dressing mixed in. I'm used to places having watery dressing with barely any flavor so I just assumed The Toss Up would kinda be the same, especially because this is a cesar dressing (and yes, I've been here before to dine in and got the dressing mixed in then too, to the Thai salad). By the time I got home (after making a stop), my salad had wilted a bit and my croutons were not as chrunchy. I'm not mad about it because THE FLAVOR!!!!! OMG!!! this cesar dressing is amazing! Creamy, sumptuous, heavy in the best way possible. Every bite of lettuce, parmesan cheese, chicken, and crouton had dressing on it. And I even ordered an extra dressing! As always, service was great. Such friendly, chatty, kind folks work here. Expect to be greeted when you walk in and get a friendly "bye, see you later" when you leave. I was in to The Toss Up on Friday, June 13 and had a great experience. The Thai salad was so flavorful and full of everything fresh and crunchy--veggies and peanuts. We were greeted warmly by the owner who explained the menu to us in detail. My friend and I split the spaghetti and meatballs and I can't recall the last time I had pasta this good. This first experience was just soooo positive it's why I came back. I wanted another delicious meal and wanted my family to know what I've been raving about.

It guarantees your food is sealed, fresh, and not tampered with. Now let's talk about the food... whew! Whether it's their fresh, delicious salads or these humongous, fully loaded potatoes, the quality is always on point. Everything is flavorful, well-seasoned, and made with care. And that chili?! On this grey So Cal day I was feeling too lazy to make my own salad. I was hungry, my bestie had time to spare so we headed to The Toss Up for a soup and salad lunch. I love when I'm greeted upon entering a restaurant, it's an acknowledgement that creates a positive experience right from the start. We approached the counter and placed our orders. Simple, straight forward and despite a tiny error that was easily fixed, the process was painless. Our salads, soups and beverages arrived and we dug in. My Baja salad was super yummy - the creamy jalapeño dressing was so good - it has a kick and I loved it. Her Santorini salad was equally yummy and both of us agreed we'd order them again. The broccoli cheddar soups were hot and tasty and we loved that the cheddar tasted authentic - not one of those afterthought soups thrown on a menu to check a box. The chunks of broccoli were perfect in size and the only thing I would have liked to have was a sprinkling of pepper. The service was superb. Friendly and personable which makes the experience even better. These days I don't mind paying more for food if the service is top notch. Would have liked the soda to be accessible for refills. You're given a plastic lid to cover your bowl for leftovers - we didn't have anything to take home, so the lids went unused and became waste. Overall, the menu is loaded with options and coupled with the service, I would visit again. Oh! Almost forgot to mention the R&B music playing in the background! That made the visit memorable. Incredible!!! My friend and I came here for a healthier option after a day at the theme parks, and this did not disappointed! We were greeted with incredible customer service, and were showered with samples. I ultimately had the Dreamy Vegan, and he built his own salad, but wow!! The size of our salads, and the protein, as well as the dressings, absolutely delicious. I also got to try the broccoli cheddar and tomato soup, and both were bursting with the most delicious flavors! The restaurant was clean, and such a fun atmosphere to spend some time hanging out after a great day! DO NOT SKIP THIS WONDERFUL PLACE!
I've been here a few times. I like to support smaller businesses anytime I can, however, I think today might be my last time coming here. My wife ordered the Southwest Beef Bowl. The first issue was the how small the portion was for the bowl and also the amount of meat that was in it. It literally had maybe about 8-10 small cubes of beef and the rest being rice, which also was very mushy and not pleasant to eat. Secondly, the seasoning on their items lack quite a bit, especially the meatballs in their spaghetti. They are just so bland and the meat also has a very odd texture to it. Not exactly sure what they do to it, but it's not good. And this was the second time I've ordered that meal. The salads are pretty decent to good. I've had their Baja Salad and the Texas Smokehouse and they came out pretty good and also a good portion. I tried their "wraps" but really they are just burrito salads with them using a flour tortilla vs a real pita wrap. Not the end of the world, but using flour tortillas makes the wraps taste different and have more tendency of breaking apart easier when eating. I think from now on, I'll just go to Simply Salad down the street as their food is always good and portions are consistent.

"The Toss Up" serves a wide variety of delicious healthy salads, sandwiches, soups, smoothies as well as fountain drinks. I ordered "The Beef Stro" Salad. Loaded with Spring mixed lettuce, Cherry tomatoes, cube-cut steak pieces and topped with Bleu cheese. (I chose the Chimichurri dressing on the side.) It Was Delicious ! I also tried the Clam Chowder, Chicken tortilla soup and their Chili. ALL were delicious as well. Customer service is on point ! I received a warm, friendly greeting when I walked through the door. Been coming here every week, it's simply the best, most freshest, wholesome, filling, healthy food , that tastes like you are cheating !! The Thai salad, maxed out bake potatoes, chili and Claim chowder are off the chain. Not mention that the salad dressings are all made in house... nothing is store bought or white labled. Tried this place for dinner while in Long Beach and not only was the food amazing but the staff and service were fantastic. We ordered the loaded backed potato which is large enough to feed 2 People. They spared NO bacon on it and the flavor was great. We also ordered the Baja chicken salad with jalapeño ranch dressing and this dressing made the salad. It had the perfect spice level and was the perfect consistency. I only wish they sold it in-store so I could take it home. While we were eating we were served samples of their soup which included chilli, tortilla, tomato and basil, and clam chowder. ALL of the soups were delicious but my favorite was the tomato and basil. I needed a grilled cheese sandwich, a blanket, and my favorite TV show to top off that soup. Lastly we were greeted by a gentleman named Rick. Not sure if he's the owner or chef but he was so warm and friendly and made our visit even better. I highly recommend this location, the food, and the great people that work there. read more

This has been on a list of places to try so my mom & I were welcomed in by at least four employees with a warm, "hello". The space was clean and tidy which we always love. It being our first time, Rick, the owner explained the menu in its entirety. We ordered these items to go: - Clam Chowder - Mandarin Salad ( the lettuce to topping ratio needs to be fixed- TOO MUCH LETTUCE ) - Loaded Baked Potato While we waited we able to try : Tomato bisque Clam chowder Tortilla soup Broccoli & cheddar soup Pasta salad Açaí ALL WERE DELICIOUS!! This place was great! I came with my daughter on a Sunday evening and tried their shrimp Alfredo. That was delicious, as well as her Caesar salad. The inside of the place is really cute and clean. They even gave us samples of the soup, and I really liked the chicken tortilla soup. I met Rick and he was very respectful and welcoming. The service was amazing . I ordered the salmon and shrimp over the broccoli cheddar baked potato with extra broccoli cheddar sauce . I have been here several times and the food is always delicious and full of flavor and the customer service is amazing. The owner has been there each time and I didn't expect him be as nice or as welcoming and as he was as most owners are more behind the scenes. he makes you feel like family when you walk in, their hospitality is next level. What a beautiful location! This spot has been open for three years and offers fresh salads made just the way you like them, using top-quality ingredients. The service is excellent, and the interior is modern, clean, and inviting. Parking is convenient, and there's also outdoor seating available. I stopped by for lunch, placed my order, and it was ready in no time despite a nice little crowd. The food was fantastic! Wow nice place, friendly and welcoming! I didn't eat because I ate earlier, so I can't judge the food but you feel at home when you come here! Parking can be tough if you come during lunch but you can park down the street and walk. The menu is very diverse with plenty to choose from and everything is made to order (heads up picky people like me!). Honestly I was taken away by the dining style. Really comfortable and would rather enjoy my bite here than my own place (not that I don't care for my home).. but moreover to quality; in top-tier customer service and food being served here is absolutely it. I've had their wraps and it was pretty fulfilling, leaving me satisfied along with a chicken noodle soup at the time I was dealing with a cold. Boss man is always there and you will know who. Highly attentive and attention to detail is sharp. I can see how much he cares about his business making us feel even more welcomed than our first time. Will be back to enjoy more items on the menu. The very first thing that I noticed was the cleanness of this Establishment and the warm warm welcoming smiles along with the greeting. The Service of the cashiers that have assisted me have been Stellar each one has assisted me with making my choices from their menu very knowledgeable and clear with their ingredients and even letting me know that their salads can also become a wrap if you like. So far I have eaten the Cobb Salad and the Baja Wrap both are very yummy the chili and the Clam Chowder soup are amazing The specialty drink I had was also delicious can't think of the but it's looks like maybe pineapple. Over all you can dine in the atmosphere is great! Clean you can watch your food being prepared with a little music and Television to keep you company and the staff sometimes walks around and offer you samples of their soups and specialty drinks and the owner Kevin even comes from behind the counter to make sure everything is OK Most importantly the owner hires young ladies and men from the community. "I swung by a little closer to closing time, and the vibe was still there! The customer service was amazing yet again and I wasn't just standing there like a deer in headlights either. I definitely found my way through the menu, imma start calling it club toss up/ toss up after dark cause the mix they had on definitely put the final touch on waiting not feeling like waiting. I thought I could wait to eat my wrap at home, but nope, it didn't even make it out of the parking lot! read more
