The vibes are immaculate. If you really love Vietnamese food (and not just pho), you need to visit Saigon Dish in Lawndale. The food comes out hot at lightning speed. My favorite dish is their Bun Bo Hue without the ham hock. Surprisingly, it's not spicy but tangy, which suits my preference. Tip: Pay with cash for a discount.
An Asian guy recommended this place to me so I knew it would be awesome and he was right . This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've tried in Southern California by far. The pho soup is rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with high quality sliced filet mignon. Their Vietnamese style pad Thai was also amazing and a standout, not dry like Thai restaurants serve. The oil that they add to it makes all the difference! You know a restaurant is doing something right when you have to sign into an iPad to get on the waiting list by the front door. 5 stars all the way!
Got here about 12:15 PM and the parking lot was already pretty full. I lucked out and someone was leaving, so I was able to park near the entrance. The dining room was packed with lunch time diners. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table to be cleaned. I noticed most of the people eating were either Asian or Hispanic. That is usually a good sign and didn't fail this observation. I order a regular size filet mignon pho with noodles and a bottle of Bia Saigon beer. The pho broth was spot on, noodles were the perfect consistency and filet mignon was tender and tasty. The Bai Saigon lager was refreshing on this warm day. Staff is very friendly and efficient at helping the diners and quickly turning around the tables. I did order pork belly banh mi and beef banh mi sandwiches to go to eat for dinner tonight. They have a very extensive menu, so could be challenging on deciding what to order.
A great local spot to satisfy your Vietnamese cravings! We stopped by for an early Friday dinner and found the place already busy, but luckily a table opened up for us. I like to switch things up between pho and bun rieu, and that night I went with the tomato-based noodle soup. It was a bit mild at first, but adding extra shrimp paste made it just right. I also appreciated that the staff had no problem blanching the bean sprouts upon request just the way I like them. My husband ordered the grilled pork chop with rice, and they were happy to swap out the shredded pork for a fried egg. We also shared an order of shrimp cakes to start. The food came out quickly, service was prompt, and overall it was a great experience. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu.

I have been searching high and low for a Bo Kho with a thicker roux like broth, it's how I was introduced to Vietnamese beef stew in Virginia. Saigon Dish is the first restaurant I've found near LA that prepares Bo Kho that way. My dramatic self stopped the employee to tell him how long it's been since I've had a Bo Kho that reminded me of home. Although it was sweeter than what I'm used to, it was still delicious. I was lucky enough to come in on a Saturday when the Banh Xeo was available. The crepe was light and crispy (now this dish I'm actually used to being a bit sweeter) but the nuoc mam really balanced everything out. I contemplated taking a container of the fish sauce home but I know what happens if that spills in your car. Anyways, this is one of those restaurants where you want to come hungry so you can eat 3 meals.

Food: I had the 11 tonight which was Pho with lean beef and brisket. This compares great against the most popular #13a. Great meal tonight and the spring rolls were awesome. Service: Great service from the wait staff this evening. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and busy on this visit. There was a line waiting out the door.

The food was good excellent, the service was friendly, the prices were fine, and the wait wasn't too long for lunch on a Saturday even though the place was packed! I will definitely come back here. You can save 5% if you pay cash.
We ordered the Special Combination Pho and the Special Combo Rice Platter. The pho had a clear light broth that was tasty. Rice noodles cooked well. I did think the meat portion was quite skimpy despite ordering a large size pho. The combo rice platter was a nice way to try a bit of everything. The short ribs were tender. Came with a hearty broth as well. Food came out super fast and the servers were nice. Good place for takeout as well. Giving it 4 stars since you can get more meat for your buck elsewhere! Would be open to coming back if I'm in the area.
Saigon dish is my fav Viet spot hands down. Everything is delicious and John, the owner, is just a really cool human. I've been coming here for like maybe 15 years and he always remembers me (which shocked me because I've gone years between seeing him with different hair blue,shaved head, blonde, brown lol). Sucks I don't live close by anymore or I'd frequent this place. Their egg rolls, spring rolls, pho and bun are all good. I like their high school special if I'm craving a rice dish and soup.
There's a reason why this is my favorite viet restaurant in the South Bay. I've gotten the bun rieu many times and I like that the broth is flavorful without it being too salty. The noodles are plentiful and pork/crab meatballs are tender & flavorful. Another item I love is the sugarcane shrimp. It isn't too heavy, tastes well balanced with a hint of sweetness after chewing the sugarcane. The restaurant feels cozy and clean. Parking is easy because it's in a shared lot. The wait is never too long for me but it gets packed pretty often. read more

YUMMM. My brother took me here for lunch last week told stories of how he's been coming here for years, even when it required a commute from his El Segundo office for lunch back in the day. In just this first experience, I ould already see why. We went for a very late lunch (close to 3pm) and the place was still quite busy. The pho here...it just, well HITS. So satisfying - sheer perfection from broth to toppings, I simply can't explain. They offer different sizes, so take consideration especially if you're like me and wanted to also try an appetizer (cha gio/egg rolls) or add toppings (meatballs), as I got full fast, and in hindsight could have done with the 'Small' over 'Regular,' considering. Vietnamese coffee was also fantastic - the rocket fuel I needed, and served in a to-go cup which ended up being exactly what I did. read more

Food 5/10 Not really anything to write home about. Food was editable but no where near the type of food/quality you can get at true Vietnamese communities like in Westminster, CA. Combo fried rice was HORRIBLE. Would not recommend ordering it. Pork and shrimp crispy wontons were okay, but I've definitely had better elsewhere. Crispy Vietnamese noodles was also okay. The sauce tasted lighter than usual and the toppings were meh (only had one shrimp, chewy meat, bad quality for squid, no mushrooms, no imitation crab meat like how it's usually supposed to have). Their saving grace though was the Banh Xeo, which is unfortunately only served Fridays and Saturdays. I kind of suspect this is because whoever knows how to truly cook Vietnamese food is only in restaurant those days. Service 1/10 Seat 'em, get their order, and forget 'em is the kind of mentally here. So if you're expecting for them to be checking up on you, you'll be disappointed. Ambiance 1/10 Typical low budget Vietnamese restaurant type of feel. Bare bones, not much decoration. Would I come here again? Probably not. I can get better quality/quantity with a quick drive down to Westminster. This spot only works if you're super lazy and don't want to drive down to Westminster or if you live in the area and you're super hungry, this will work in a pinch. read more

11/10 experience! Bestie and I grabbed dinner here after work on a Thursday and it was on and poppin! Busy place, busy staff but the food arrived to our table quick! and they gave us plenty of time to yap I had a veggie pho (my typical go-to) and bestie had a filet mignon pho. Both were super tasty! We also shared the pork and shrimp spring rolls (3 pc). They were a good size and the pho bowls were also huge! Great place and totally worth the wait. When we checked out, couldn't help but notice all the Christmas Cards that families have sent it. This place is definitely a family- oriented spot and a new fave! read more

The reviews here are spot on, and I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring...The best Bun Bo Hue I've ever had was in San Jose, but I dare say this place was a contender! Bun Bo Hue is a spicy Vietnamese beef noodle soup, typically chock full of various goodies like beef shank, pork hock, Vietnamese sausage, and flavorful toppings like onions, fried shallots, etc. Each bite can be a different, flavorful experience, and Saigon Dish definitely nailed it. The restaurant is very clean and well-staffed, and parking wasn't an issue for us on a Friday afternoon. My kids happily gobbled their food down which is always bonus points for me. Next time we're in the area, I gotta try the Pho...thank you Saigon Dish! read more

Our new go to pho place for sure. We were a little far from our usual pho place so we decided to branch out and try a new restaurant. Let me tell you, when we took our first bite...we knew. Meat was so tender I ended up ordering another side dish of the meat. Pho came out in literally 5 mins flat in a fully packed restaurant. Lots of seating and we were in and out. Still my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the area, a go to staple for me when I return from long work trips. Their service has gotten better since the last review, and everything else I said in the last review regarding the food and atmosphere has stayed the same. I read about this place on a 'best bowls of pho' piece so I decided to come check it out for a late lunch after an appointment. They are definitely very popular as it was really busy even in the middle of the afternoon and the turnover of tables was very high. Finally got to try Saigon Dish. Was in the area so decided to stop by and place a Togo order. I got the Thai tea, pho tai and chin nac (lean steak and brisket) and an egg roll/grilled pork vermicelli bowl. The order was ready under 20minutes. Walked in to pick up the order and pay and the man ringing up was super nice, asked if I needed assistance to the car because my order was decently big. Everything we ordered was pretty good however the Thai iced tea was a little watered down despite them putting the ice in when I arrived. Their pho is probably one of the better pho bowls in the South Bay Area and the vermicelli bowl hit the spot. The vermicelli bowl came with two egg rolls, grilled pork, tons of noodles and fresh veggies, also fish sauce! The egg rolls were crispy and had great flavor, the veggies were fresh and pork was seasoned perfectly; to top it off, the fish sauce was perfection! read more

My friend and I came here for dinner the other day. The service was a little interesting because they kept asking us every 2 minutes after we sat down if we were ready to order, but the food came sooo fast. I tried #27 which was the grilled shrimp and pork noodle salad. This was surprisingly sooo good, like had amazing flavor and the protein was juicy. It also felt not too heavy but was a lot of food - made 2 meals for me. My friend got the pho and said he really enjoyed it as well! read more

This place is always packed but this time around, I was lucky. I hit the place around 12:30 thinking that I need to wait in line but luckily, we managed to grab a table right away. Pho tai is my favorite but other food here are also delicious! read more

Yes both outdoor and indoor dining areas are available. You can make reservations if you want to but you don't have to.
Do they have heat lamps outside?
I was there last week and they did not have heat lamps. The pho warmed me up!
Does Pho here have MSG?
MSG syndrome is a debunked racist anti-Asian myth used against Asian restaurants. Sadly, racist marketing was so effective it's still around even if there's no scientific support.
What items do not have nuts?
Most items do no have nuts since I have a peanut allergy myself. Peanuts are usually added as a topping at the end of food preparation so you can always tell the server to leave it out. Just stay away from the peanut dipping sauce for the spring…
Is their pho gluten free?
Our pho is 100% gluten free but just don't add the hoisin( dark bottle) sauce
Will Saigon Dish do separate checks?
Yes, just tell them at the counter what your part was. They ring you up by table number.
Is there anything vegan?
As Paulina and Art have said, there's a vegetarian section on the menu and #49 (vegetables with pho in vegetable broth) appears to be vegan.
