First time eating here and it was only $17.99 for one pound! I loved and appreciated the uniqueness of this hot pot place with the different types of soup bases. I tried the Tom Kha soup base and I got exactly 1 pound! They offered a bunch of different types of vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, noodles, meat/fish balls, meats, and seafood. To be honest, I preferred the seafood over the beef and pork cuts, but they do have a great sauce bar as well for every cut of meat or type of food that you'd like. I do wish there were more veggie options for the bowl but was absolutely not disappointed by what they did have. I come here pretty often and it's a really delicious and accessible hot pot spot. It being Thai, the flavors may be different than what you're used to if you usually go to East Asian establishments but most of the fresh ingredients are the same. The majority of the broth bases are definitely spicier and more flavorful. The first couple times I came, I thought the condiment bar was kind of lacking but I've since changed my opinion of that. I've tried a few different flavors at this point. I now feel it's not really necessary, most of the bases are flavorful enough that the food doesn't need dip. One of my favorite parts of hot pot is concocting my dipping sauce, so it took some time to remember I don't really need it. The service is friendly, the cashiers and cooks smile and seem kind. The gentleman explained the whole process on how it works and was polite and professional. The place looks empty when you first go inside but the tables are in the back area. There is also a self serve sauce bar and water is self serve as well. Pretty much everything is self serve here. To be really honest, the ingredients at the bar didn't look very fresh and they have meat that's not frozen. Once it's all cooked with the broth it's not bad though. Your soup comes out in an individual hot pot and you just get to enjoy. There's a water station in the bigger room and this is also where you'll find a small buffet of add-ons: oils, chiles, and herbs! Big selection of veggies, Yifu's, fish cakes, meats and seafoods. Two minor things: 1. The beef was too thick for me 2. I got plain soup base but it was a bit salty so I didn't get to use my soy sauce + satay sauce as much. Ambiance was clean. I think it could use a little character, but it was fine. The restaurant is bright and welcoming, the choices for your hot pot located on the right side before the cashier. There is ample seating through the opening at the back right wall and they supply a sauce counter and water dispenser. The service was quick, cordial and friendly. He explained that the hot pot is priced by weight with a minimum of 1 pound. There was good variety of noodle, tofu, meats, and seafood options. They even included premium seafood like blue crab and dungeness crab (shell on). I ended up with some udon, seafood, beef balls, lucky bag (containing fish roe), and soybean curds. My soup of choice was Tom Kha. The soup was very vibrant with the tastes of lemon grass and creaminess of the coconut milk. I do consider the balance to be slightly off; too sour yet not enough spice. The sauce bar was adequate, garlic and sesame sauce was my basis but there was also sambal, Mala, and seafood sauce. The lucky bag was my favorite, the tenderness of the tofu with the unami of the fish roe (and slight pop). The blue crab was disappointing, the crab meat turned to mush, but overall all the seafood was generally fresh. After a meal, they provided a bite of ice cream which was delectable.
