I've been craving hot pot so bad and we were recommended this place. There aren't that many good hot pot places in South Bay and we thought this one was quite impressive. This spot is build your own hot pot, there's a wide variety of fresh ingredients like veggies, proteins, carbs, and more. It was my first time having Thai hot pot and love that it had flavors of sweet, spicy, salty, and sour (depending on the broth you select). At the end of the meal, you get complimentary ice cream which is the perfect sweet treat. The place is decorated really cute and good spot to grab food with friends and family. We stumbled upon this restaurant when my friend was searching for Thai food in the area, and it turned out to be a great find! The concept is simple and fun--you build your own bowl by choosing from a wide variety of vegetables, noodles, tofu, eggs, seafood, and meats. Some of the options available included lobster balls, shrimp, mussels, clams, octopus, beef, and chicken. Your selections are weighed at the end, with a minimum order of 1 pound, which was surprisingly easy to reach given all the delicious choices. One of the best parts is choosing the broth to cook your ingredients in. We all went with the Tom Kha broth and absolutely loved it. The flavor reminded me of a creamy version of sinigang, a Filipino sour soup, which made it especially comforting and enjoyable. The restaurant also has a self-serve sauce bar so you can customize your meal even further, and cups are readily available for water. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. There was also plenty of parking, which made the experience even more convenient. Overall, we really enjoyed our first visit and will definitely be coming back!
Southbay is full of Japanese and Chinese hotpot places What makes Thai hot pot stands out is their sauces. Everything was good. Meat quality is good. Variety of choices to pick from. This is a malatang style hotpot so you can customize however you want your pot. Service is friendly And place is clean. Adding this to my go to hotpot place
This Bowl Thai's sister restaurant. I've been going to Bowl Thai back when they were in a different plaza across the street. I'm so glad they've been able to expand. I decided to try their hot pot today. My brother and I got the tom yum and tom kha flavors. Savory and very yummy. All ingredients were fresh. We had beef, seafood balls, mussels, and veggies. Complimentary dessert was a nice touch. Ambiance is trendy, and service was exceptional.
Absolutely a hidden gem! Let's start by James the host. He is absolutely adorable, friendly and attentive. The place is clean the service is prompt and the food is delicious. You start off by getting your bowl and tongs then adding the veggies followed by protein that you want in your soup. Lastly you choose the type of soup you want to add. Choose wisely as it can add it quickly as it is 17.99 per pound.
I really do love the self serve option for your hot pot, you get to add all of the stuff you want more or less of. You are charged by the weight, about $17.99/lb as of December 2025. I do wish there were more veggie options for the bowl but was absolutely not disappointed by what they did have. After filling your bowl you get to pick your soup base and I had Tom Kha which is always my go to. You will have some sauce options which are pretty good as well. We really did love our hot pot and had so much leftover you would have thought I purchased another bowl! Will 100% come back.
This is the newest restaurant of Bowl Thai and Sweet Rice (which we love both too). Thai Hot Pot did not disappoint! So you basically fill your bowl up with whatever you want and it's all weight based of 17.99/lb. They have a great selection of items from vegetables, noodles, and proteins (seafood, beef, chicken, fish balls, tofu, etc). Then you choose the broth you want. The guy there (Darren I think) gave us a sample of the broth so we could decide if we wanted it. My husband got the Thai suki and I got the Tom yum so we could have two different broths. Both broths were amazing! And the quality of the items looked and tasted fresh. Service was great! I love that now in this complex we have three restaurants to choose from depending what mood we are in! This hot pot definitely hit the spot on a cold night .

Super flavorful, comforting, and consistently delicious. They also offer other great options like tom kha. Wait times are usually pretty minimal as long as it's not super packed. The sauce bar has a great selection, and I love that they offer complimentary ice cream at the end of the meal. Parking is also easy and plentiful in the area. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to!
Love this place!! Located in the same plaza with Tokyo Central, Sweet Rice & Bowl Thai, this restaurant serves up yummy thai hotpot in a unique way. I was warmly greeted by a friendly gentleman when I walked in and had a cake to celebrate my friend's birthday. He offered to hold the cake in the back which was super nice and later on explained how you grab a bowl and put as much veggies, meat and seafood you want in and they weigh it to charge you at the counter. Then they cook it for you and bring it out in a few minutes. They have a lot of thai based broth and I chose Jaew Hon per recommendation and it was so flavorful, unique and tasty. There are lots of fresh veggies, mushroom and seafood which I love. I'll definitely be back again.
Came here for dinner with my boyfriend about a week ago. It was pretty late on a weeknight, but I'd been wanting to try this place. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted, and the man working (sorry I didn't catch his name!) was super friendly and helpful in explaining how everything worked -- which I appreciated since it was my first time there. It's kind of like the Thai version of YGF Malatang! When you first enter, you'll see the open bar of meats and veggies, but if you walk further into the right, there's a hidden seating area in the back with a self-serve sauce and dipping station. It was very casual and quiet for a weeknight -- there was only one other party there, which made it a nice, lowkey dinner spot. I'm not very familiar with Thai broths, but he patiently walked us through the different options and even let us sample the Thai suki broth on a spoon. That ended up being the one I chose -- and I surprisingly loved it! Such a cool concept overall, and the service really stood out. Would definitely come back

The food was just as great, priced at $17.99 per lb, with the option to sample broths before choosing. I got the Thai Suki, and my husband had the Jaew Hon, which has a slightly tangy flavor similar to sinigang. I also love that you can bring in food from their sister spots (Bowl Thai Grill & Sweet Rice) if someone in your group isn't into hotpot. The manager was super friendly and made my first visit a great one. Overall, such a good experience. I'll definitely be back!!
How exciting is it to choose‑your‑own‑Hot pot, you're battling the urge to throw every ingredient into your pot like a kid at a candy store. And honestly... we did. Zero regrets. But keep in mind they charge you by the weight. I have to say mine was looking pretty heavy. Because, I came in super hungry. All I can say is mine had lot's of juicy specialty stuff at the bottom. The vibe here is super casual, nothing fancy, nothing pretentious, just clean tables, friendly faces, and the comforting smell of broth that makes you feel like you're about to make good delicious life decisions. The staff is genuinely friendly, the kind that smiles even when you're staring at the ingredient bar like it's a math test. You pick your broth, your proteins, your veggies, your noodles, basically, you assemble your own masterpiece. And let me tell you, the pot I created, Wow...even the Michelin man would've given me at least half a star. Maybe a full one if they caught me on a good day. The food is excellent. First time eating here and it was only $17.99 for one pound! I loved and appreciated the uniqueness of this hot pot place with the different types of soup bases. I tried the Tom Kha soup base and I got exactly 1 pound! They offered a bunch of different types of vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, noodles, meat/fish balls, meats, and seafood. To be honest, I preferred the seafood over the beef and pork cuts, but they do have a great sauce bar as well for every cut of meat or type of food that you'd like. I went in on a Wednesday evening and surprisingly it was empty, but everything was very clean and the food was fresh. The service was great and we got a little small ice cream at the end. Will definitely be coming back when in the area. Also plenty of parking spots in the plaza! read more

Very VERY friendly service! I've never had Thai hot pot before but I'm glad I tried it. It comes out with it's own flame source so it'll stay hot and boiling the entire time (or you could shut it off). This is a pay per pound type of hot pot establishment. I'm a big fan of these types of places because I get to choose exactly what I want to eat and how much. There are about 5 different soup bases for you to select. They also have a very wide selection of vegetables and proteins. I was a big fan of all their seafood options including crabs and shrimp. There are also a wide selection of noodles for you to add into it if you'd like. In terms of the dipping sauces, they have several types of spicy selections. They have sacha/satay sauce which is a must for me. They also give you ice cream in the end which was a really nice way to finish the meal! read more

I love this place, this is the second time I come! Customer service is great, he is very attentive of your needs and if everything is okay, he is always happy to help. Food is awesome, you get to choose veggies, meats, toppings to your liking and choose your own broth, who wouldn't like that ??! I recommend tom kha( it's a coconut sweet and sour base) and tom yum( sweet and sour) you could never go wrong with that . And the place is cute very vintage and clean !! read more

Yall. YALL. This place is a hidden gem in the massive plaza. The owner is the nicest person and helped us navigate through this menu. The flavors are outstanding, we've tried 2 so far (jaew hon and tom kha) and they were so good. Extremely flavorful and there are so many customizable options! You start by filling your bowl with veggies, noodles, proteins, etc. and then choose a soup base, and once you're seated you can also hit the side bar for extra sauces / condiments. Everything here was fantastic, we'll definitely be back soon with all our friends. Don't forget to get a thai tea! read more
UMMM FIRST OF ALLLLL, I live RIGHT NEXT TO THIS PLACE AND I AM JUST NOW TRYING IT. They have malatang style dining where you grab your ingredients in a bowl and they weigh it out however!!!! They have a variety of THAI BROTHS! I absolutely love Thai soups especially tom kha. My friend and I did some light work and only got a little over a pound each. It's 17.99/lb which is actually really expensive... it's the most expensive I've seen so far. The service was excellent. The gentleman explained the whole process on how it works and was polite and professional. The place looks empty when you first go inside but the tables are in the back area. There is also a self serve sauce bar and water is self serve as well. Pretty much everything is self serve here. To be really honest, the ingredients at the bar didn't look very fresh and they have meat that's not frozen. Once it's all cooked with the broth it's not bad though. The spicy seafood sauce is DELICIOUS and I would drink that if I could. I'm definitely coming back to try other brothers and maybe not an hour before they close. read more
Every Friday my best friend and I try a local Gardena restaurant (no big chains) and we finally got to Thai Hot Pot after eating at Bowl Thai Grill. When you first walk in you'll find the hot pot selections on your right. If it's your first time, do yourself a favor and check out all your options first. If you're like us, you'll want everything ;) There's an amazing assortment of options--fresh veggies, tofus, mushrooms, fish balls, noodles, eggs, and meats. After you fill up your bowl it'll get weighed and you'll be asked to select your soup base. I got the Jaew Hon and my fried got Tom Yum, you can't go wrong with either. Your soup comes out in an individual hot pot and you just get to enjoy. There's a water station in the bigger room and this is also where you'll find a small buffet of add-ons: oils, chiles, and herbs! If it's your first time or you've been there before you'll be received with warmth and a super friendly smile. The gentleman who helped us was so friendly and matched the laid back vibe of the restaurant. You'll be offered a bowl of rice in case you're interested. And the thai ice tea is soooo good! Even as we were eating we were talking about coming back! Go and show Thai Hot Pot some love!! read more

We tried Thai Hot Pot today! It was super delish. Lots of options and the service was great. We each got a build your own, but they have preset ones if you don't want to personalize. Big selection of veggies, Yifu's, fish cakes, meats and seafoods. Two minor things: 1. The beef was too thick for me 2. I got plain soup base but it was a bit salty so I didn't get to use my soy sauce + satay sauce as much. Ambiance was clean. I think it could use a little character, but it was fine. They are located in the shopping mall with Sea Empress and Tokyo Central. Lots of free parking. Overall I would be back! read more
This place is so cool! I love hot pot but this is definitely a Thai twist! You can pick your own soup base then all your own ingredients (has to weigh at least one pound before adding the base). I enjoyed building the bowl and had no idea it would taste as good as it did. I had the tom kha base. I'll be back to try the other base flavors! For two people, it came out to about $55 so this is a place you want to go to if you're looking for something cheap and quick. The servers are super friendly though and quite informative on ingredients. read more

The food is SO amazing! I love the broth and the variety of toppings you can add! They also have a bunch of vegetarian options- tofu, greens etc. The best part is they serve it on a live flame so your broth is always boiling hot They have a wide variety of sauces and herbs too! I always love adding the garlic and cilantro on top and let it simmer in the broth and it tastes delicious! The service is super quick. They have a lot of tables even for bigger groups. The lady at the counter is also super sweet. Today i went for the second time and she remembered my order from MONTHS ago!! I had just as brilliant an experience as the first time. Came here on a rainy Friday night around 5 pm. This place stands out because of its bright pink walls and was not full at all. This is a build your own hot pot experience, which seems to be the trend. They have a fair selection of veggies, meats, and noodles. Smaller variety than the more popular places, but I liked this selection because I wasn't overwhelmed. I chose the Tom Kha soup and the soup paired with the veggies and meat did not disappoint. It was creamy from the coconut milk, with a good kick from the chili. They also had a station where you can make your own sauces too! And the soup comes with a complimentary rice bowl too! read more

We decided last minute to try this hot pot place and it was phenomenal! Super duper clean, like the whole restaurant was super clean, from the self serve station, the sauce bar, and the tables. We love the concept of picking whatever you want & the soups you want, you're always going to get what you want & how much you want. Our server, was super nice too - definitely answered all my husbands questions about food/soups/sauces. Would def recommend trying if you're in the mood for something soupy. read more
We enjoy this type of restaurant, but what makes this place unique, is that the broth flavors are Thai flavors, my favorite! You can customize your soup items and choose the broth flavor. Was immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman he thought us how it works, we loaded up on the many delicious ingredients he then weighed it and brought it to our table later. Loved the vibes you get in the place especially the straw lights. Love that its self serve water I tend to drink a lot of it and hate having to flag someone down. Went with my brother and dad around 7pm Sunday and there was little foot traffic. 10/10 definitely will go again and try other toppings read more

This owner also owns Sweet Rice and Bowl Thai which is in the same area as Thai Hot Pot. This is a pay by weight hot pot where you add your ingredients to a bowl and pay after weighing it. Currently it is $17.99/lb. It doesn't seem like it, but a pound of food is a lot of food! They offer five types of soup flavors: Thai Suki (tangy, signature soup), Jawe Hon (Spicy, herbal-like soup), Tom Yum (fish sauce/lemon grass), Tom Kha (tangy, creamy, coconut milk), and Nam Sai (chicken and veggie broth). I got their Tom Kha and my bowl consisted of lots of veggies, onions, and beef slices. My husband got their Thai Suki. They have another station where you can grab sauces - green onions, garlic, chili peppers and more Thai Suki sauce. Water cups and station were next to it. When we went on a Thursday night, there weren't a lot of people so finding a seat was easy. Parking was also easy as that plaza can get crowded. My Tom Kha was so flavorful! Probably something I'd get again, and so nice on a cold night! The veggies were fresh and added to the broth. I will say, watch out for the lemon grass! They are tough! Each set comes with rice! Customer service is spot on- Always friendly and willing to help. This is a great alternative to Boiling Point! read more
I'm not sure when the resto reopened. We happened to be in the area on a Thursday night and saw that it was open. We were the only customers for most of our meal. You'll select the ingredients you want in your hot pot from a salad bar offering of veggies, tofu, noodles and meats. At the end, they'll weigh your bowl of ingredients. As of this review, it's $17.99/lb. You'll select your soup base and it's sent to the kitchen to create your masterpiece! Their drink offers are water, soda and Thai iced tea. In the dining room, you get to visit and revisit the condiments bar. So many options to create the perfect accompaniment to your hot pot! It wasn't a long wait for our hotpot. We shared one hotpot and that was more than enough for the two of us. We selected the jaew hon soup base, which is tamarind base and sour. I thoroughly enjoyed it! We plan to add this place to our weeknight, dinner out rotation. Enjoy! read more
Finally gave this place a try & was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are under the same umbrella of restaurants w/ Bowl Thai/Grill & Sweet Rice (which is a GREAT sign bc those places are bomb.com). Everything is self serve, which is comfortable. The flavor profile is goooooooood & strong. If you like tangy broth, you are at the right place. The best part about the setup (esp for picky eaters) is that you choose what you want in your hot pot vs a premade hot pot place, so you know that every ounce is spent towards something that you hand picked. The only iffy thing is the pricing, which is what I think throws most people off from trying it, but I think it's worth giving it a try if that's the main thing you're concerned about since that was my initial concern! They take your raw ingredients & prepare it for you in the back after you pay. Definitely huge portions esp when compared to how much is given at other restaurants when you order that specific dish individually. This place is also very clean, so you can trust that the food is well prepared. A side note: I always love & appreciate when bathrooms have cute interior & have additional loud speakers in the room for privacy. (As an average sized woman) It's safe to assume that you should get less than you think you need bc it will be MORE THAN ENOUGH to make you full. It comes w/ a bowl of rice & we had enough food for to go. You do need to meet their 1 lb requirement which means you will be paying at least $18 per person if getting separate broths, unless you are careful about portioning the ingredients & prefer to share 1 hot pot w/ someone. I personally think two women can share one hot pot & still be full, but it's not as fun as trying multiple. I tried the Tom kha & the Tom yum, & Tom kha was better just bc they were essentially the same flavor profile w/o the coconut milk, which is what we were told, but what it needed bc it might start getting too tangy & all the condiments/sauces might blend together in your palate. Don't assume it's the Tom yum broth that is used in bowl thai's Tom yum noodle soup (it's more tangy). (Still delicious) Also loved how the sauces & condiments were neatly laid out to explore. The green sauce & the red sauce were the best!! This might be a good group setting place if you're comfortable sharing your food & just order one less pot than the total group number. The service was also extraordinary!! The owner was very friendly, patient, & genuinely proud about the quality she was serving. (As she should) We also got free ice cream to end our delicious meal. This is a pay-by-weight Thai hot pot restaurant! It recently reopened with a different concept (it used to be a set menu of hot pot types like Boiling Point). It's very clean and new inside. I really like the pink and green color scheme and there are a lot of tables. It's owned by the same people who run Sweet Rice and Bowl Thai Grill and it's just a couple doors down from those restaurants. I went with a group of 3 on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. The staff at the front was very helpful with explaining the concept and the different broth types. The buffet selection for hotpot ingredients was pretty vast. There were a lot of veggies, 8 types of mushrooms, a lot of noodles, many fish balls/tofu, and then a lot of seafood items. There were limited sliced meat options (like brisket or something), but they had oxtail, intestine, chicken feet, and marinated chicken and pork. Food: Thai Suki - I ended up piling on about 1lb of seafood, fish balls, noodles, and veggies and it totaled to around $20. They give you a bowl of rice on the side to eat with your hotpot too. It was a pretty good portion and everything was cooked well inside. I thought the large pot with the individual burner to keep it warm was a nice touch too. The broth I chose was a mix of tangy and savory. I also tried some of the Tom Yum and Tom Kha broths and both were excellent! Definitely have that kick of sour/tang, but the Tom Kha is more rich with the coconut milk. Overall, I really enjoyed this build-your-own hotpot place with unique and authentic Thai broths!
