Located in strip mall
Cyn L.

It was our first time at Pho House when we stopped in for dinner. They're located in a strip mall which shares parking with Saigon Market. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we entered on Friday night, which was surprising. When we drove by another Vietnamese restaurant less than a block away, there was a line out the door. I ordered the House Special vermicelli bowl. It had a variety of toppings which I enjoyed. My husband ordered the char broiled pork plate with rice. The pork didn't seem char broiled and was more pan fried without any char. Same with the pork on my bowl. The server was nice. There's a lot of competition with newer Vietnamese restaurants in the South Bay. Glad we got to try this one.

I ordered take out via Doordash. Their price from Doordash is the same as in store so this is the best. It was super convenient to pick up. When I came, the food was ready, and packaged. The packaging is normal, and tight. They double bagged the soup in case of spills. They used a tall, thin cup that perfectly snuggles in my car cup holder, preventing it from tipping over during my driving. The soup was hot and flavorful. There were 3 pcs of short ribs. One of the pcs didn't have enough meat so I would say this is equivalent to 2 pcs in other restaurants whose short ribs are bigger. The staff was nice and friendly when I came to pick up. Overall, the $14.99, I like the price very much. My take out comes with utentils, hoisin, and srirachi. The parking here is huge and ample. Overall I would come back for pho.

Food 8.9/10: pho was delicious and the pork was good. They gave me the wrong item for the egg noodle but that is okay because I got to try something new. Service: 10/10: very attentive and kind. Ambiance: nice and clean. Parking: somewhat busy for a 1:00 pm.

There's nothing quite like a comforting bowl of pho and while there are lots of options in the South Bay, few of them stand out like Pho House. I like simple so I typically go with the beef (#2), and iced coffee. Service is always fast and friendly. The couple who are usually there running the place are super sweet. The restaurant itself is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. It's located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. Definitely give this place a try for good pho!

I live in Venice, and have been searching for a great pho spot. Pho House is worth the drive, and we have made it multiple times. My friend always orders the pho combo, and I get the #10 vermicelli bowl. I could honestly eat here nearly every day. If you are in the area, or even if you aren't you should stop by. The staff is awesome, and I love their ice tea and you get free refills. Pho House rule!

My husband and I came here for a casual dinner on a Friday night around 6 pm. Pho House is located in a strip mall in Lawndale, where they have several other Vietnamese businesses and some Peruvian eateries. We were seated immediately when we came in. There were a couple of other diners inside but the restaurant wasn't too busy. I ordered the pho dac biet and my husband had the house special vermicelli. Although they specialize in pho, they still have a good variety of different dishes on the menu including vermicelli and rice dishes. We both enjoyed our food and it was also incredibly cheap. Service was good. The ambiance here is very casual, so it would be a good spot for a quick meal. This place is not far from where we live so we plan to come back whenever we're craving Vietnamese.

We came here on New Year's Day. After being seated, we noticed that there weren't many people working but the place was busy so we were prepared to stay and wait, understanding that they have many orders to fulfill. The service was the best they could do at the time which I appreciate. The food however, was subpar. I read the reviews and brought my parents here since our first choice was closed and had decent expectations which were not met. The noodle dish we ordered came out soggy and mushy with half the noodles cold and half of it warm. It was comparable to badly microwaved leftovers. The pho was okay, with hard noodles and broth lacking flavor. The spring rolls were decent but I wish there was a little more flavor as well. Although reasonable for service to take long as it's a somewhat busy holiday, the food was very disappointing ):

A little mom and pop-type Vietnamese spot tucked away in a small strip mall off of Hawthorne. I came early in the day for a late breakfast. The people were super friendly, smiling and so accommodating. I ordered the Bun Dac Biet (House Special Vermicelli Noodles) which included grilled shrimp, charbroiled pork, egg rolls, bean curd shrimp cake. The beauty about vietnamese food is that it's healthy, light and refreshing, and Pho House made it just right. The meats were all great, but the lettuce, cucumbers, pickled daikon and carrots all tasted so fresh. Major props on the attention to detail with the peanuts and fried shallots (some places would just skimp or neglect these altogether). I also ordered a hot vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. It wasn't the best coffee as there were a few milk curdles (?) after I mixed it, so had to fish those out before drinking it. Otherwise it was okay. All in all, a friendly little vietnamese restaurant with a solid menu of offerings and good food.

First time here great service but I did find a hair in my food! I was so dissatisfied.

The steak is or was, mediocre. This is a seafood restaurant and specialty. If you come here, I'd say don't do the surf and turf (steak) but opt for more seafood. The shrimp grilled in the shell is lackluster because the shrimp often sticks into the shell and dry out, harder to eat and less delicious, in my opinion. All of the fishes that are grilled are great and the best options.

As for food we got the Combo 2 and our choices were shrimp, clams and snow crab. We went with the Torpedo sauce for our boil cause it was a mixture of all their other sauces (garlic butter, classic cajun and lemon pepper) and we got it at a medium spice level. And oh boy oh boy did it set our mouths on fire but in the best way possible!! The sauce was everything we wanted it to be, spicy, savory, garlicky, tangy and just pure indulgence. To calm the heat though we also got cajun fries, rice, Thai tea and Jasmine milk tea. Sharing a meal with a friend is always nice but sharing a meal with a friend here is great. I believe food is the ultimate uniter and I'm happy we chose to go here!! The shrimp was well cooked and a nice aroma of garlic lingered from the chunks of garlic visible in the sauce. The sauce had decently chunky bits which adhered to the shrimp well enough and was delicious with a nice kick of heat. The shrimp were less than fresh but perfectly palatable. The Cajun fries were lightly seasoned, with a crisp (but not too crunchy) coating, similar to the exterior of an onion ring. They were great for snacking and whetted my appetite well. All in the food was good, but I just wish the shrimp was fresher to lend some subtle sweetness and fresh feeling to the dish.

We began what would turn out to be one of the most enjoyable outings in fine dining since I have been in L.A., and the South Bay/Manhattan Beach area in particular. I can say that Eddie V's hit on all three elements that most look for when considering fine dining options-the ambiance (location itself), the food, and of course my #1 thing-the level of customer service! Other than past experiences in my 2nd home of New Orleans, (where top tier customer service is to be expected from "hole in the walls" to century old restaurants such as Antoine's, Galatoire's, and Commander's Palace-this was bar none my best fine dining experience in Los Angeles.......ever! Over the course of the next few hours, we would indulge in the following: Starters: *Caesar Sald-light and scrumptious. (I devoured this option in under 10 minutes) *Shrimp Cocktail-presented as a table spread as opposed to the shrimp being hooked on the outside of a generic wine glass. The shrimp were large and super fresh. We both moved in for the attack here! Dinner: *Crab Cakes (3) These are bar none the absolute best in L.A. I had two, and my guest knocked out one of them-they tasted just like Gulf crab-which is saying something. *One 8oz Filet Mignon-cooked to perfection (we kind of split this) lol Beverages: *GL Substance (aka the house red), which I enjoyed thoroughly. * Smoked Old Fashioned (part of a nice presentation where our server literally lit up fire and "smoked it" in front of my guest. *Perfect Margarita-a certified margarita according to my guest. * Fresh coffee and cream-hot and fresh like the food! Desert: *Celebration Dessert which consisted of a variety of special treats-all of which were complimentary. *Meyer Lemon Tart-a mouthwatering offering that was the epitome of that perfect blend where lemon and sugar meet in the middle. Customer Service The CSA, or Customer Service All Star of this experience was Kayla P-pictured. Honorable mention goes out to hostess Azhanee-pictured. Server Kayla P and Hostess Azhanee collaborated as a team and ennsured that my guest was greeted by name and that her valet was already paid upon arrival! Look I would've given this place 3 stars, but the customer service and wait time was ridiculous. Hear me out, this is my experience from last Saturday. So first it can be challenging to find this place, since the pier has so many level to it. Look for the elevators. When you get there, for the first time, you see a main line, well for what? Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care! But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.
