I've been coming here for about a year and a half now and this review is well long over due . This place is a hole in the wall. The pricing stays consistent or the same for years and they serve a good amount of food for your buck. The owner is a very friendly man who includes his family in the business and always making you feel like you're part of the family as well as soon as you walk in. I visited Pho Daisy for the first time this past weekend and was impressed at how affordable everything was. A large pho with rare steak and brisket was just $12.45 and five egg rolls were $8.35. The large pho was perfect for sharing, with a fair amount of tender steak and brisket. The egg rolls were packed with ingredients and were very hearty. I found these egg rolls to be very satisfying! The egg rolls were my favorite. Overall, I found the food here to be good and at an excellent price. The only comment is that they don't provide iced water. What a hidden gem. It doesnt look like much as its a small mom and pop type place in a strip mall. Theres a parking lot right in front. The inside is clean and is nostalgic of any vietnamese restaurant. The service was alright. There was only one guy working the register, waiting tables, and being out the food and it was pretty busy. We grabbed our own menus from the center console table and he shortly came after to take orders. The food was really good. We both got pho and the broth was more savory than sweet and the protein portions were more than plentiful. A nice change! You know its authentic when they have chili oil out. Really good mom and pop authentic place is a random strip mall in Gardena. The ambiance is simple and clean and run by a family with the little kid on her iPad while her parents run the restaurant...just like an authentic Asian restaurant should be! There was only one individual running around taking orders, delivering food/drinks, bringing your check, etc so it can take a while, so you have to be patient. The food takes longer than usual for a pho spot, so not a good spot if you're heading there for lunch break during work. The gentleman serving is extremely friendly and funny. The large pho contains a generous amount of noodles. The noodles are not chewy to my liking though, not bad, just too mushy for me. The soup flavor and the meat is good though. There weren't many people in the restaurant when we arrived but all the tables were full of dishes, like they just had finished a dinner rush. This an overall review, first off the food was good but customer service wasn't as good, we received the fresh rolls with meat when we clarified without and server even joked about it so we thought it was clear. We also weren't checked on for refills or if we needed anything additional which is odd for a sit down style place. At checkout he continued to joke when I made compliments. I also asked for recommendations on pho since he said what we ate "that's not pho" well it would of been nice to educate me versus joking again. I live near dtla and my boyfriend lives in hawthorne, i've noticed a smaller selection of asian cuisine near this area, so it makes it a bit harder to find a trustworthy and delicious restaurant that won't disappoint. i suddenly had a craving for pho, spent weeks looking for a good place and just kept giving up, i had pho daisy saved for some time and never quite paid much attention towards it, BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE, finally tried searching for pho again, this time i was determined to find a good spot (i was starving) the recent reviews were very reassuring, decided to give this place a go. walked into this place and was greeted by a kind sir, said we could sit anywhere we'd like and so we did! place wasn't busy at the time so he attended to us super quickly, handed us each a menu, it's not a big overwhelming menu, it's simple and straight to the point. first time here we ordered the special combination pho(L) (photo), rare steak and brisket pho(L), spring rolls (my fave, had to try) and to drink we had a thai tea and a black iced coffee with condensed milk. off the bat i noticed that the meat and noodle ratio was perfect (personally) i can't stand when places add 3 pieces of meat and a small handful of noodles, these bowls had a good amount of meat and a good portion of noodles (i love noodles), the large pho is so filling, almost too filling, we ended up leaving with food comas lol but i was so happy and satisfied. came back today because i just love pho that much, it was a weekend so obviously the place ended up being pretty full by mid day, we ended up ordering a regular brisket pho (compared to the large, it's still very much satisfying), chow mein, and the grilled meat egg rolls, and to drink we had two iced coffees, again, this place is just a hit, it has a very welcoming vibe and the man at the front always does his best to make you smile or laugh, he's very kind, and tries to be as attentive as he can even when busy. my boyfriend is very picky with chow mein, hates when they're too dry and hates when they're too soggy, the noodles were perfect to him, even admitted on our way out how much he loves this place and how it might be his favorite restaurant, which is great because i was thinking the same, it really is a great place, definitely worth trying! read more
