So I'm not sure if this spot is connected to South Bay restaurant next to it, but I've been here twice. First time I parked on the street and felt like I was coming into someone's house in Vietnam. A bunch of uncles/aunties watching TV eating and drinking with some guys talking in the back. Super casual and laid back - that's when you know the food will be good. I got the bun Bo hue and wasn't disappointed. Soup was well balanced - perfectly sweet/salty and I like how you can add the chili yourself to adjust spice level. They barely speak English and you have to Zelle afterwards Will be back to try the rest of the dishes

A solid 4 for Vietnamese offerings for being out of OC. Tried the bun Rieu - Pros - you get a lot of proteins for sure 3 minced balls, 3 piece of cha chien ( fried fish cake) 3 fried tofu and 1 blood cube. Ask for shrimp paste to elevate the broth taste. Prices are moderate at 13 for a bowl that isn't commonly found in Torrance area.

Yes yes yes. Listen, my order of importance is food, service then ambiance. But the most important, and the one that can forgive rude waiters and an interior that hasn't been updated in 30+ years, will always be the food. I knew this spot was gonna SLAP when I parked in the back lot and saw a gang of Vietnamese grandpas playing cards on a little table. The inside and possibly hygiene is questionable, but the service is so warm and the uncle was so cute and nice. I think this place and the place next door are connected because I got my BBH from one side and the coffee from the other. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and by first glance I was disappointed but as soon as I had a taste... good lawd!!! The broth looked pretty clear but it tastes deep which tells me they boiled it low and slow for maaaad long. I don't think there was a pork hock in it but I didn't care. I drank all the soup. Came with fresh veggies. Their iced coffee with condensed milk was straight jet fuel crack so naturally I loved it. The total cost of the meal was so cheap. I think my BBH + coffee was under $20 which is unheard of nowadays. My vet is in the area and I will come back every time I have to go.

Moving to LA from OC, it's been difficult the find good Vietnamese food. After church, I wasn't willing to make the hour drive to Little Saigon, but I decided to check on Yelp to find any viet restaurants that sold Hu Tieu Nam Vang and I found this spot! It is hard to find good, authentic Vietnamese food in LA... it can never be as good as Orange County, but at their Hu Tieu Nam Vang - it hit all of the right notes! My only complaint would be I think they use a chicken broth vs pork for the dish. It wasn't as rich as I'd like, but other than that it made me feel just a bit less homesick. I loved the fresh pennywort juice and small talk with the workers. The service was very fast and courteous. I was the only person in the restaurant which bums me out because the food is decent and very affordable!

It's a hidden gem in the area, and this place operates same as South Bay Restaurant. They serve authentic Vietnamese food, I've tried their pho and vermicelli, both were great.

Cafe Nho and South Bay Vietnamese Restaurant are located right next to each other. We arrived early Sunday morning around 8AM as this was one of the few pho restaurants open early. They open everyday at 6:30AM! There was plenty of parking in the rear. AMBIANCE It literally feels like walking into a restaurant in Vietnam. It doesn't feel like one of those other pho restaurants catered to Americans in the South Bay. This felt like where all the local Vietnamese go. It was clean and plenty of seating. SERVICE The two servers were very friendly and smiled a lot. I wasn't sure if it was because this is a traditional Viet restaurant or it was super early, but they didn't stop by throughout the meal to check up. To be honest, it didn't bother me at all. FOOD We got the Bun Bo Hue and Pho. When I first saw the Bun Bo Hue, I thought it looked watery but it was soo FLAVORFUL. The Pho broth was also very tasty. Both came with generous amount of meat. We also ordered Banh Mi sandwiches, but I didn't like them as much much. The pickled vegetables weren't flavorful enough (missing more sugar/vinegar flavor). PAYMENT They do take credit card! Out of all the Pho places in South Bay, this place and Pho Hue Oi are the most authentic restaurants in the area. However Pho Hue Oi is always super packed and tables are close together. Although not the best in LA/OC, this is our new favorite authentic Pho spot in the South Bay!

They open up super early which is really nice and the food is served very quickly, so you know they got the authentic part of that down. Taste wise I would say 3.5. They have the ingredients but the soup tasted a bit diluted. I went super early in the morning before work so I can't say how busy it was but they have a small parking lot in the back so that's super convenient. Their viet coffee is pretty good, I would stop by for that again. But since it's already in Torrance, I would just drive the extra 20 min down to fountain valley for much much better viet food.

I will never stop by for sandwich again. I buy sandwiches here frequently, but this is the first time I experience this. The meat and ham were super dried and smelled so bad. This must be old from yesterday or sth. Stop selling spoiled stuffs

No frills place with very authentic, delicious Vietnamese food that's made from scratch with bumping music in the background. Stumbled upon this gem and gave it chance and now have been back multiple times that the owners recognize us. Give it a try if you're in the neighborhood!

This place is such a hidden gem. I missed it a few times while trying to find it it's so unassuming. I came here specifically to try the Mi Quang. It is so hard to find this dish in the LA area, so I was really excited to find this place. The Mi Quang here is solid and it was only $13! It's hard to find any dish for that price in LA. They also had a variety of other Vietnamese dishes that I want to come back to try. Highly recommend this place!

The best Vietnamese foods in South Bay. We come here every weekend! & the owner/ staff are so nice and friendly. Feels like home

When we got there, there are uncles chilling in the back parking lot, enjoying their coffee, cigarettes, and friendship, talking about who knows what.. The meat cuts were cooked perfectly. Everything was right! The banh mi dac biet came with all the cold cuts. It was delicious! The pate (liver wurst) and all the meats were great. The cha (pork cake sliced) in which some people posted pictured thinking nasty stuff like mold.. no it's not! It's whole black pepper corns that are sliced! Just take a good look! During my whole time here I the resturant the phone kept going off and they ignored it quite a few times. The inside of the resturant nice and clean, no complaints from me. My wife used their bathroom but the door did not lock so I had to stand outside which is annoying and not suitable for any ladies wanting to use the restroom. The food took quite a long time to come out. We sat down for awhile before the appetizers came out. 2 of us got the pho lunch special and it comes with a fried veggie eggroll. It took 15 minutes just to get 2 veggie spring rolls which were fresh and hot. When taking a bite out of them the inside was just mushy veggies and tasted like they were soaked in soy sauce. Then the spring rolls came out and they looked ok. After tasting they were decent. My only complaint about them is there wasn't enough peanut sauce, just a little dish not enough for all of our rolls. My wife ordered the combination fried rice. It came and it looked nice and hot. Upon tasting it for myself it tasted extremely salty. The proteins in it (Chinese sausage, shrimp, chicken) were almost inedible with the exception of the Chinese sausage. The shrimp was extremely over cooked and the chicken was cut thin and wide, like jerky and was just as dry as jerky. My FIL and I ordered the combination pho. The pho was extremely lackluster and was missing some components commonly in combo pho (pho dac biet) it was missing tendon, flank and meatballs (sometimes not always in pho dac biet) The meat to noodle ratio is extremely terrible, had at least 8 bites of noodles left and no more meat. The broth was so bland no flavor at all except for the over abundance of sweetness from the sugar. Being part vietnamese myself I love alot of pho whether its super delicious or just ok. This pho is not even in the "just ok" realm its terrible, its a disgrace to pho everywhere. Even if you are the type to put Hoison/Sriracha in the broth it will not save it. FIL says this place uses to be good but I guess things have changed since his last visit all those years ago. You could pick almost any other pho restaurant and I am 99.99% sure it would be better than here. If you value your time, money, and taste buds please stay clear of this place by any means necessary.
