Such a cute new addition to Gardena! Junia Cafe is located on the ground floor of an apartment building. There is street parking available, but it can fill up, so you might have to park a little farther down the street. Love the vibes of this cafe! Friendly service, and it's so fun to watch your drinks being made! They offer a variety of coffee drinks, matcha and hojicha, and unique speciality drinks. We got the Matcha Grey (matcha oat cortado and earl grey cream) and a Yuzu Shiso Ade. Both were so yummy and very pretty! I'll definitely be back to try some more of their specialty drinks!
Here to report that the almost $7 Matcha Grey is (unfortunately) worth every penny :') I've come here twice, and both times I'm in shock at how well-made this drink is! The earl grey and matcha flavors go so well together, nothing overpowers the other in the best way possible. I get 50% sweetness, but may try 25% sweetness next time. Just note that this drink is really really small, but it's concentrated goodness in a cup! Parking isn't the easiest, but if you are willing to walk a little and park in the surrounding residential streets, you will not have a problem (at least during a Friday ~12pm)! Good service. I find that the tables are usually taken so it may be hard to find a spot to do work here!
I had a great experience at this café in Gardena! From a spacious interior to delicious drinks, this is café worth checking out. I had two drinks for my first visit: - Matcha Grey: Delicious and creamy with good matcha and earl grey flavor. Love that they make this with oat milk as a default. One of the smallest matcha drinks I've ever had, so it's good to pair with an additional drink. - Golden Orange Latte: Loved the flavor of this one which married the espresso, orange, and cinnamon flavors well. Kinda choked a bit on the flower garnishes, but at least it was pretty haha. Pastries seem to be sourced from a separate bakery and are on the pricier side. The interior is clean, spacious, and optimal for working/studying at. There are outlets, wifi, and a good amount of seating and tables. There is also a bathroom as well. For parking, it's street/neighborhood parking which is free I believe. I would definitely recommend and come back here!
I ordered the earl grey matcha cortado. The size is small because it is a cortado but the flavor is delicious. I ordered a regular butter croissant which was big, very buttery, and super flaky. I'm not sure if they make their baked goods in house but they are yummy regardless. They have wifi which is awesome if you're someone trying to get some work done. They have a few parking spots out front but when I showed up 40 minutes after opening none were available. There is plenty of street parking in the area regardless. Service was good, and they call you over to get your order when it's ready. Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5
Finally got to try Junia after hearing so many amazing things about this place and their drinks. Excited to say they're right! The place is super chic and a great place to chill and work at. My favorite drink from the three i got was their hojicha, wow the ending flavor of the nutty and roast was amazing, one the best hojicha latte I've tried in a while. I will be coming here for that hojicha!

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for a pick me up. They have limited street parking which was a bit rough. We got the matcha grey and honey roasted vanilla latte. Matcha grey was good, the foam was mildly sweet and the matcha strong. A bit on the bitter side. The topping was a bit annoying to drink around. Husband didn't like the latte that much, he said there was some sticky chunks he couldn't really identify and the honey left an aftertaste he didn't particularly enjoy.
Love to see Gardena expanding. Coffee shops like Junia are why I love being home again. Came here on a Wednesday morning to study. Madeline helped me pick out a coffee. She was very helpful and fun to chat with. I got the tomato pesto croissant with one of the specialty pour overs. Loved the way the coffee is served, in a serving glass and pot. This spot is spacious. Jazzy music in the morning. It's a great place to study, but you have to get here early. Seating is limited. Service is courteous and quick. Everyone was a pleasure. Highly recommend.
We stopped by Junia on a Sunday afternoon. It was the first time driving by and seeing it open so we parked and went into check out the "new coffee" shop that had opened a few months ago. We got the Match Earl Grey and the Pear Oolong Tea. The matcha grey was a condensed little drink but creamy with a punch of flavor. The Pear oolong was very refreshing and I can see myself order those often when summer rolls around. The also have a lot of specialty coffee beans and teas to purchase for at home brewing. The staff was very friendly and the vibe of the store is very relaxed. Lots of bench seating AND OUTLETS for those who wanna bring their laptops and work/study. They also have dog bowls with water and I saw a lady inside w her Dachshund (and the staff seemed ok with it) so I guess it's dog friendly? As a dog owner, I would love to bring my dogs but also sure that's possible a health code issue? Parking is available along Gardena or in the surrounding neighborhood so it can be kinda of hit or miss but as of now, "Downtown Gardena" isn"t super busy so parking is plentiful most of the day. The store itself has rather short hours which made it hard to get to until now. It's either go early in the AM before work (because they close at 3pm on weekdays) or go on a weekend when they close at 4pm. Having such hours isn't really convenient for most people who work 9-5 or even for high schoolers or people who finish at 3. And for that, I docked this place a star. I struggled with this because I wasn't sure if this was fair but it felt like having hours which makes it so most people can only go on weekends, days off, or early in the morning feels like a soft way of gatekeeping. The store owners have the right to set whatever hours they want but from a convenience experience for consumers, the hours felt a bit restrictive.
Junia Cafe is one of the newer coffee shops in the South Bay area and by far one of the coolest ones. This spot has a smaller back parking lot or a couple spots directly in front of the shop. Inside, they have a cozy and spacious setup with a solid amount of seating. For their menu, they are serving up some artisanal coffee and matcha drinks. Wifey and I stopped by for our weekend matcha run and we ended up getting the Milky Pear Oolong and the Matcha Earl Grey Cortado. We really enjoyed both drinks and their unique flavor profiles. Overall, we are really glad we got the chance to stop by and check them out. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back to try some of their other drinks next time we are in the area!
Tried out Junia Cafe after a recommendation from a friend! Parking is a little hard in this area. There's some spots right outside of the cafe, but we had to venture to the side streets to find parking. The inside was very nice and minimalistic! Lots of natural sunlight and plenty of room to sit. They even had a large table with a puzzle on it for people to do. I got the Golden Orange latte and my friend got the vanilla latte. I wasn't sure how orange would go with coffee since I've never had it before, but it was really good! It definitely tasted like orange, but wasn't overpowering. It reminded me of the chocolate oranges I used to have as a kid, 8/10. The vanilla latte was good as well. I wish the vanilla was a bit stronger, it just tasted like sweet coffee to me, 6/10.
When my sister here for a coffee date. Everyone inside was very welcoming and answered my questions since it was my first time ever going there. My sister had been there before so she knew exactly what she wanted. We placed our order and sat at the main table. There's a lot of space and a lot of areas to sit, which was really nice. We were able to talk and look through some books we had brought, I just really enjoyed this space Our coffees were amazing. I can't remember what my sister talked to me into having, but it was really strong, but not bitter. Very smooth. She did give me a taste of hers as well and I really enjoyed it. My sister had some questions about some of the artwork and pastries when we were leaving, and the staff was able to answer all her questions and we're very very friendly read more
Junia is super popular and for good reason. The cafe is amply spacious and lots of tables for people to meet and do work and/or study. It's definitely the nicest cafe in an already gentrifying area. It's nice to see. Junia is the quintessential manifestation of the 4th wave of coffee, and it's such a joy to experience. This isn't Starbucks so don't expect that kind of experience. The coffee is solid. The hojicha latte is extraordinary. I'll be coming back to try the other drinks, but it has been a very positive experience thus far. Parking can be a little tough as it's street parking, but usually you can park a few streets down in the residential area. read more

I love visiting Junia Cafe! Along with it being so close to home, all of the drinks i've tried so far are so good! My favorite drink has to be their seasonal Earl Grey Hot Chocolate (looking forward to the holidays just for this). My go to is their Matcha Latte and if i'm craving a coffee i'll get their Toasty Vanilla Latte. The staff are always kind and helpful. I love the ambiance of the cafe. It's a great place to work, study, or just hang out. They come out with seasonal drinks and i'm always looking forward to what unique drink they have next. I stumble upon Junia Cafe a few days in the evening in the rain, I decided to return earlier and when it was dry. It's on the corner Gardena Blvd. and Normandie Ave. there isn;t a name on the building just the address, there is free parking in the front only with a few one hour parking. We were greeting by Anthony who was very friendly and helpful, he give us info. about Junia Cafe plus took our order, we got the tosted vanilla latte with almond milk that was very flavable plus delicious. They also sell specialty coffee and pastries too. There are about 10 table and chair's with seat cushions, two long bench seating with outlet's, one huge community table with a bench seating and about six small stool's and three chair's at a bar area. Service was top notch, Anthony check on us and pass info. that Junia only been open six weeks, I will return soon. read more

I love this cafe. Matcha grey was super good but too small. I can drink a gallon of that. Parking is very tough and I have to drive around like 5 times to get a spot 5min away from the cafe. Around 11a there was no more pastry so I don't know what kind of pastries they have. It's dog friendly and my baby sit on my lap and the staff gave her the treat and my dog loved it. I asked her what kind of treat so I can buy online and she gave me some more to take home. So sweet. I also got toasted vanilla latte and it wasn't my thing. There are many seats but people stay there long time so it's tough to get a seat as well as parking. So many I will go there early next time. read more

Came to try their Matcha Gray. It's a Cortado so it's meant to be a small size which is unfortunate for me cause I could drink like ten of these. So good but be warned, it will definitely leave you wanting another cup! read more
I got to try Junia Café a few days ago. It's a bit inconspicuous from the outside, I almost missed it driving down the street. But I realized it was the cafe soon after lol so I went in an took a look at the menu and decided on the matcha grey, which is a combination of matcha and an earl grey cream top. My drink came out pretty quickly even though it looked busy. I don't think I realized that telling them "for here" meant they would give me a glass cup but it's okay, I just would have preferred to take my drink and go so keep that in mind if you try this place. The drink itself was actually pretty tasty. I really liked how flavorful the earl grey cream top was. I honestly would've like a tad bit more sweetness in the matcha as it was either not sweetened at all or was sweetened veryyyy little but it was still good as a whole. There's a good amount of seating inside, and I'm not sure if they had a restroom but it seemed like they did because people kept walking in and out of this one side door. Parking outside is just street parking and it seems pretty limited. read more

The earl grey matcha is so good!! It's very strong matcha so it's more of a little sips situation. Also the cup is tiny so that was a bit of a shocker. But the foam is good and the matcha is not sweet and perfectly made. No parking lot. Street parking only. Can get kinda hard. I circled twice and ended up parking pretty far down. read more

This new coffee shop just opened in South Bay! Came here on a Sunday morning and there was a short line. Parking can be a little tough but doable as there's only street parking. The coffee shop is spacious with plenty of tables and seating. We ordered the toasted vanilla latte and matcha grey. Both drinks had great flavor and high quality ingredients! Also ordered the almond croissant which was pretty standard. Definitely would come back to try their other drinks! read more

This place was good! The drinks feel like cocktails in a good way. The barista was helpful, and made sure I understood what I was ordering. I went with the matcha grey, which the barista described as cortado style. The cream was nice and not too sweet. I tried my friend's yuzu shiso ade and loved it. That one really felt like a cocktail. The inside is on the larger side, and the place was pretty full on a Friday at 11 AM. It was a mixed crowd too, multiple families with little kids but also quite a few people in their 20s. Coffee was really good, not too sweet or milky! It looks like a good place to study too. The staff wasn't too talkative but I can forgive that just because I enjoyed their coffee so much. Food: It all comes down to their Matcha Tonic! My first-ever try, and now I'm totally hooked. It's refreshingly bright, lightly fizzy, and beautifully balanced with premium matcha. Honestly, I can't go back. Their Matcha Latte was also excellent, creamy with a clean, vegetal lift. My husband enjoyed his coffee too, though I can't recall exactly which one, knowing their espresso options, I'm sure it hit the spot. Price: The flagship drinks are priced well. Matcha Tonic is about $5.85, while the Matcha Latte comes in around $5.60. Coffee drinks like Americanos, cappuccinos, and cortados typically range from $4.20 to $4.95 each. Overall, the pricing feels fair and approachable for high-quality beverages. Ambiance: Junia Cafe has a sleek, minimalistic design in neutral tones of black and white. It's quiet and understated, there isn't even a big neon sign, you've got to know to look for it. It's clearly the new hip spot in town, there are always tons of people studying/working inside. The bright, clean interior makes it a perfect spot for catching up with friends, and it was a delight for our casual date. Service: Service here is outstanding, everyone is super friendly, especially those taking your order. I even had a lovely conversation with the owner, Justin, and his wife. They were so warm and genuine, what a good looking couple and lovely to chat with. It truly feels like a family-run spot, and that personal touch elevates the whole experience. Parking: Junia Cafe is in a suburban area surrounded by houses, and while they do have street parking, most spots are usually full. When we visited, we ended up walking a block or two from where we parked. It's very doable, but factor in a little extra time hunting for a spot. read more

Hands down my favorite place for an earl grey matcha! (thinking about the next time i'll be back haha) There are very few cafes that have earl grey matcha on their menu, but this one is on the top of my list. I love that the earl grey doesn't overpower the matcha, and I'm able to get a balanced taste of both! I love the interior of this place! Perfect to come chat with friends or get work done. The staff was extremely nice and I had a great experience. Can't wait to come again and enjoy a nice drink while reading a book! :) read more

I've tried matcha spots all over LA and Orange County, and Junia is hands down the best. The matcha grey is truly unmatched. The flavors together are incredible. I just wish the serving size was bigger! Regardless, I will keep coming back if I'm ever in Gardena. It's always been busy when I've gone so you may have to wait if you want a table. read more
Who's Junia? Doesn't matter. This cafe's the coolest, hippest new spot in town so good luck finding parking, or a seat. Grab coffee, matcha, whatever, it's a good time. The matcha tonic was nice and refreshing. My wife absolutely loves it and probably won't ever order anything else from here besides that. Me, not wanting FOMO, but also wanting to try something different, went with a matcha grey. It's matcha cortado with earl grey cream and wow, I love the subtleness of it all. There's no forced sweetness or matcha-ness about it. Everythjng blends in very well for an enjoyable drink on any day of the week. The owner and his wife opened this cafe together recently and their passion for it shows. So show some love for family owned businesses out in the South Bay! read more

Such a cool and cozy cafe!! It was full of people chatting, reading, and working when I stopped by. It felt like a great community gathering space and I immediately imagined myself asking friends to meet me here for a coffee date! The drinks and pastries were very good, and they have a nice selection of coffee beans from local roasters. I got my partner a box for xmas just because the packaging looked so nice! This new cafe in Gardena is a great spot for studying or hanging out with the spacious interior and modern aesthetics. The drinks in particular were really good and I loved their specialty coffee and matcha. They also have a variety of pastries available which I enjoyed. Servers were really friendly and helpful in giving recommendations. They make their syrups in house and you can definitely taste the quality. I tried their orange espresso tonic which comes with bits of orange and a dried orange slice. The drink had the perfect amount of sweetness and was really refreshing, pairing nicely with the pastry. Their spinach and feta croissant was also really good warmed up with a nice flakiness. The matcha grey was so good! The drink is a matcha cortado with oat milk and earl grey cream served in a smaller cup. The matcha is rich which I love with the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor of earl grey. Overall I loved the vibes and drinks here and would definitely come back again. There is street parking near the cafe, though it is limited and can be hard to find on the weekends. read more

Parking is definitely a problem here. Iv'e visited 2 times total. The first drink I tried was their iced matcha latte, it was good nothing that stood out. Next time i tried the earl matcha haha I was looking at the person make it. Mind you it's a 12oz cup tiny drink. They top it off with their cold foam and the girl kept putting ice i can see her struggling to fit more ice. I couldn't put a lid on it. Service is okay I want to try their coffee but it just doesn't feel very welcoming here idk, on top of the parking being an issue. read more
Such a cute spot in gardena! V cute local coffee shop w good amount of seating and a bunch of students that mainly come in to work. The owners were both working the day I was there, and were so friendly and very casual! They had great recommendations. The matcha cortado w early grey milk foam was SO yummy! read more

I walked into the soft opening that opened just minutes from Perry Middle School and Gardena blvd. The Cafe was in the similar style of Maru and there is a large bench area along the window for you to sit. There was also a long line but it went by really quickly. I decided to go for the golden orange latte with half-sweet. A automatic plus is applied for the fact that they use clover Sonoma milk (the best milk - in my opinion). My mom got the same. The Golden orange latte reminded me of the Rose Parks Maple Lavender latte but what sets Junia apart is the orange flavor more prominent and I think the syrup is made in house, which made it taste more fresh. I also caught bits of orange zest which I loved. Now because I got the drink hot. I noticed that the coffee wasn't filled all the way to the top so I am deducting a star but the baristas were really nice and friendly. Also because I noticed that the cup size for the matcha was a little too small for my liking. I wish it was a bit bigger. Other than that, I'd like to come back another day and give an updated review. read more

If you're looking for a great cafe to study, this is the place! Decor was on the simple elegant side with lots of natural light and plenty of tables to sit. Service here was excellent. The guy helping me was very friendly and knowledgeable. In addition, it's rare for a cafe these days where the baristas bring the food and to the table. I got a warm golden orange which is not too sweet with subtle flavors of the orange but on the pricier side. FYI theres a garage but not sure if customers can park there. I ended up parking on the street which wasn't bad on a Friday morning but I can see it being harder on the weekends. read more

First, parking is on the streets. I'm not sure how busy it gets but luckily we were able to find parking a few blocks down on a Saturday morning. We got there early enough where there wasn't a line and there was a few people inside already. I ordered the Matcha Earl and my husband got the Golden Orange Latte. He rated it a 8/10 and I rated mine a 7.5/10. The matcha drink was good and you can taste the earl grey. However, I think the size is so small for what you pay for. I can drink it all so quickly but had to sip slowly to savor it. They only have one size. How unfortunate!! Wish they can do a bigger size. Furthermore, the inside was big and spacious. I like how roomy it feels. It's a nice spot to chill and talk! read more
