Customer service was great! Ample parking! I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk and yuzu croissant. Unfortunately the latte was pretty bad. The croissant was very hard and super flaky... they played pretty good music .. it wasn't a cozy feel though.. like it was cold, no decor and just felt off. I probably wouldn't be back :/
I love visiting Junia Cafe! Along with it being so close to home, all of the drinks i've tried so far are so good! My favorite drink has to be their seasonal Earl Grey Hot Chocolate (looking forward to the holidays just for this). My go to is their Matcha Latte and if i'm craving a coffee i'll get their Toasty Vanilla Latte. The staff are always kind and helpful. I love the ambiance of the cafe. It's a great place to work, study, or just hang out. They come out with seasonal drinks and i'm always looking forward to what unique drink they have next. Junia is such a great addition to the South Bay!
Such a cute new addition to Gardena! Junia Cafe is located on the ground floor of an apartment building. There is street parking available, but it can fill up, so you might have to park a little farther down the street. Love the vibes of this cafe! Friendly service, and it's so fun to watch your drinks being made! They offer a variety of coffee drinks, matcha and hojicha, and unique speciality drinks. We got the Matcha Grey (matcha oat cortado and earl grey cream) and a Yuzu Shiso Ade. Both were so yummy and very pretty! I'll definitely be back to try some more of their specialty drinks!
Here to report that the almost $7 Matcha Grey is (unfortunately) worth every penny :') I've come here twice, and both times I'm in shock at how well-made this drink is! The earl grey and matcha flavors go so well together, nothing overpowers the other in the best way possible. I get 50% sweetness, but may try 25% sweetness next time. Just note that this drink is really really small, but it's concentrated goodness in a cup! Parking isn't the easiest, but if you are willing to walk a little and park in the surrounding residential streets, you will not have a problem (at least during a Friday ~12pm)! Good service. I find that the tables are usually taken so it may be hard to find a spot to do work here!
I had a great experience at this café in Gardena! From a spacious interior to delicious drinks, this is café worth checking out. I had two drinks for my first visit: - Matcha Grey: Delicious and creamy with good matcha and earl grey flavor. Love that they make this with oat milk as a default. One of the smallest matcha drinks I've ever had, so it's good to pair with an additional drink. - Golden Orange Latte: Loved the flavor of this one which married the espresso, orange, and cinnamon flavors well. Kinda choked a bit on the flower garnishes, but at least it was pretty haha. Pastries seem to be sourced from a separate bakery and are on the pricier side. The interior is clean, spacious, and optimal for working/studying at. There are outlets, wifi, and a good amount of seating and tables. There is also a bathroom as well. For parking, it's street/neighborhood parking which is free I believe. I would definitely recommend and come back here!
I ordered the earl grey matcha cortado. The size is small because it is a cortado but the flavor is delicious. I ordered a regular butter croissant which was big, very buttery, and super flaky. I'm not sure if they make their baked goods in house but they are yummy regardless. They have wifi which is awesome if you're someone trying to get some work done. They have a few parking spots out front but when I showed up 40 minutes after opening none were available. There is plenty of street parking in the area regardless. Service was good, and they call you over to get your order when it's ready. Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5
Ambiance: it's a trendy coffee shop located on the ground level of an apartment building, limited street parking in front, despite there's a parking garage in the rear attached to the establishment, but it's not for public, so it's fairly tedious to look for street parking in the neighborhood. Love to see Gardena expanding. Coffee shops like Junia are why I love being home again. Came here on a Wednesday morning to study. Madeline helped me pick out a coffee. She was very helpful and fun to chat with. I got the tomato pesto croissant with one of the specialty pour overs. Loved the way the coffee is served, in a serving glass and pot. This spot is spacious. Jazzy music in the morning. It's a great place to study, but you have to get here early. Seating is limited. Service is courteous and quick. Everyone was a pleasure. Highly recommend.
Finally got to try Junia after hearing so many amazing things about this place and their drinks. Excited to say they're right! The place is super chic and a great place to chill and work at. My favorite drink from the three i got was their hojicha, wow the ending flavor of the nutty and roast was amazing, one the best hojicha latte I've tried in a while. I will be coming here for that hojicha!

I've tried matcha spots all over LA and Orange County, and Junia is hands down the best. The matcha grey is truly unmatched. The flavors together are incredible. I just wish the serving size was bigger! Regardless, I will keep coming back if I'm ever in Gardena. It's always been busy when I've gone so you may have to wait if you want a table. read more

If you're looking for a great cafe to study, this is the place! Decor was on the simple elegant side with lots of natural light and plenty of tables to sit. Service here was excellent. The guy helping me was very friendly and knowledgeable. In addition, it's rare for a cafe these days where the baristas bring the food and to the table. I got a warm golden orange which is not too sweet with subtle flavors of the orange but on the pricier side. FYI theres a garage but not sure if customers can park there. I ended up parking on the street which wasn't bad on a Friday morning but I can see it being harder on the weekends. read more

I walked into the soft opening that opened just minutes from Perry Middle School and Gardena blvd. The Cafe was in the similar style of Maru and there is a large bench area along the window for you to sit. There was also a long line but it went by really quickly. I decided to go for the golden orange latte with half-sweet. A automatic plus is applied for the fact that they use clover Sonoma milk (the best milk - in my opinion). My mom got the same. The Golden orange latte reminded me of the Rose Parks Maple Lavender latte but what sets Junia apart is the orange flavor more prominent and I think the syrup is made in house, which made it taste more fresh. I also caught bits of orange zest which I loved. Now because I got the drink hot. I noticed that the coffee wasn't filled all the way to the top so I am deducting a star but the baristas were really nice and friendly. Also because I noticed that the cup size for the matcha was a little too small for my liking. I wish it was a bit bigger. Other than that, I'd like to come back another day and give an updated review. read more

First, parking is on the streets. I'm not sure how busy it gets but luckily we were able to find parking a few blocks down on a Saturday morning. We got there early enough where there wasn't a line and there was a few people inside already. I ordered the Matcha Earl and my husband got the Golden Orange Latte. He rated it a 8/10 and I rated mine a 7.5/10. The matcha drink was good and you can taste the earl grey. However, I think the size is so small for what you pay for. I can drink it all so quickly but had to sip slowly to savor it. They only have one size. How unfortunate!! Wish they can do a bigger size. Furthermore, the inside was big and spacious. I like how roomy it feels. It's a nice spot to chill and talk! read more

Parking is definitely a problem here. Iv'e visited 2 times total. The first drink I tried was their iced matcha latte, it was good nothing that stood out. Next time i tried the earl matcha haha I was looking at the person make it. Mind you it's a 12oz cup tiny drink. They top it off with their cold foam and the girl kept putting ice i can see her struggling to fit more ice. I couldn't put a lid on it. Service is okay I want to try their coffee but it just doesn't feel very welcoming here idk, on top of the parking being an issue. read more
Located off W Gardena Bl in Gardena. Nice spot but parking is a challenge here there is no parking lot so you have to find street parking which is difficult at times. The place is nice roomy inside a few tables but it does get crowded here as well. I drive by a lot since I go to Giuliano's down the street and I see the line and the crowd here. I got the matcha latte and it was good my only complaint not a biggie but they put a lot of ice in the small cup maybe next time I'll see if I can get less ice. Overall had a good experience here there are a lot choices and they also have pastries as well I'll have to come back when I have more time and can find a parking spot. read more

Came here in the afternoon for an afternoon pick me up There is parking in the garage and street parking available as well. The ambiance is warm welcoming and so much space! i love how the sunlight comes through all the windows and the curtains give it a homey cafe vibe. There are pastries available as well. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I ended up getting the matcha grey. Which is a short matcha kind of like a cortado with a earl grey foam top. the earl grey foam top was amazing!! I really enjoyed the flavor. The matcha was also great, good nutty earthy flavor and not too overly sweet. There is plenty of seating to work, chat with friends etc. I will be back to try out the other drinks as well! so happy something opened so close to home :) read more

I first heard about Junia on Instagram when people kept mentioning it as one of the top matcha spots in the area. I was especially excited because it's right in my neighborhood, and as someone who loves matcha, I'm always looking for new places to try. One drink that kept coming up was their Earl Grey Matcha. I'm not usually a big Earl Grey person, but I figured why not give it a try. I visited on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded. The space itself has a minimalist aesthetic with sleek concrete and clean, which I always appreciate. The shop felt very open, calm, and well designed. They had a few pastries available, but I came specifically for the matcha. I ordered the Earl Grey Matcha with a vanilla bean cream top. The drink was on the smaller side, but it was really tasty and well balanced. Even though Earl Grey isn't normally my first choice, I ended up enjoying it more than I expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering recommendations and making the experience feel welcoming. There are quite a few matcha spots in my area, but this one is definitely one of my favorites that I've tried so far. I'll definitely be back to try their regular matcha next time. I came in on Thanksgiving morning and it was pretty crowded. However, the service is fast and there's ample amount of seating inside. There's also a lot of free street parking too! I got the Matcha Grey and it was delicious! Because it's a matcha cortado, the drink size is smaller compared to normal but don't let that discourage you from trying it. Came here on Monday around 10 am, and most of the seating was filled. Lots of my friends were telling me about this place so I wasn't too surprised. The space is huge, and the high ceilings make it even more spacious. So thought my friend and I sat close to another table, I didn't feel cramped. I ordered the matcha earl grey. I've never had that type of drink, but was recommended to try it by the barista. If you love a strong matcha taste, would recommend this! The earl grey provided a light and sweet balance to the matcha too. The drink was smaller than the average latte but it made me drink slower and probably appreciate the drink more. read more

GOOD BARISTAS New minimal coffee spot in Gardena. Spacious hall with a few tables and a fast moving line. Menu is tiny and out front. Got the toasted vanilla latte and they put a little latte art on it. It doesn't change the flavor of the drink but you know they know how to get creative with it. Junia Cafe caught my attention right away when I spotted someone posted about it on my IG feed. The space was perfect representation to my coffee shop preference with clean and sleek look, well-lit space; just awesome spot to be when away from my regular working desk. They're still on their soft opening hence probably the pastries availability was quite limited, but the drink selection offered was pretty extensive with some eccentric options. Not missing the chance to try their signatures, I went for their Matcha Grey, bold oat matcha served with Earl Grey cream top. The vibrant color might have been able to tell the quality and the strong matcha flavor; and looking at the dainty size, it's doubtlessly quality over quantity game here. I wouldn't deny that it's tad pricey for the size, but appreciated that by the time I placed the order, the barista did tell me that it's a small-sized drink. The shop is clean with a relaxed atmosphere. The place was busy, but with the large space it didn't feel crowded. The staff... fine, not rude but not friendly either. Ordered an Americano, black... they brought it to my table and if they were trying to serve extremely bitter coffee, mission accomplished. I expect an Americano to be slightly bold but approachable. The espresso used was either old or burnt. Probably fine if you add a bunch or cream and sugar or flavorings. I'd like to come by again, maybe earlier in the morning next time to see if I get a fresher brew. Place is nice and close to home so I want it to be good. read more

I don't live nearby but was in the area and had to stop by. This is my second time at Junia and it was as delicious as the first time. All the staff are so kind and friendly. While I usually get pour overs or cortados, I wanted to try out some of the specialty drinks and did not regret it at all. Started off with the Golden Orange Latte and the Matcha Grey. Was so happy with those 2 that I walked back over to order 2 more of the drinks: Milky Pear Oolong and Cherry Tonic Hojicha All 4 drinks had a wow factor to them, and all flavors worked really well together read more

Immediate 5 stars. I ordered the matcha grey and it was absolutely perfect. The size was very small which was surprising, but because it was so small, I think the drink was that much more potent and concentrated. The matcha paired so nicely with the earl grey, complimenting each other so well. I had already finished the drink by the time I got to my car so I'm gonna have to come back very soon. Was super stoked to try the earl grey matcha and it definitely didn't disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised that it was only $6, but when the drink came out, I immediately saw why. The standard size for this drink was like maybe 8oz at most. Even for $6, I'd have rather paid $1-2 more for a 12-16oz. The flavor was perfect and it wasn't overly sweet, but my big complaint was that it was just too small. I hope they offer additional sizes in the future. read more

I definitely recommend the milky pear oolong tea! The oolong is lightly roasted and matches very well with the pear flavor. I haven't seen a pear tea drink before and this was quite unique. Was working in the area and stopped in for coffee since this appeared on my Yelp search. Parking is limited to the spaces out front or nearby street parking. I've been noticing a lot of the newer coffee spots that are opening have the same or similar aesthetic: modern minimalist decor or theme, abstract or hipster vibe/art and branded merch which is a t-shirt, hoodie and dad hat. Junia falls into that line of coffee shops. Nothing wrong with it just kind of hard to discern between all the shops opening up with the same model. Luckily Junia serves superb coffee, taste is clean with no bitterness. I tried their Golden Orange drink which was basically a latte with orange zest and it was very good. I will say I've seen variations of the orange zest latte at other high end coffee shops but theirs is simple and to the point. There's seating in the dining area and there were many people here co-working/studying and I'm not sure if every table had access to an outlet or only certain spots. Restroom was, clean, spacious and kept the minimalist decor theme going and the soap smelled very fresh. Overall, I would come back for their coffee for sure and if I could find a space to plug-in and co-work I would visit again for that as well, but it looks like this place is already popular and seats may be hard to come by in the future. read more

It's a small spot. The pictures..deceptive. lol. There's some seating. It's a no frills type of coffee shop. It has seats, coffee, pastries, and pics of cat (I do like cats). Workers were nice. The drink options are small. I had the matcha latte (gotta watch the caffeine). It was good. Had their pastry (there were only 2 left when I got there). It was pretty good. Be mindful that you have to put your cups/plate away in these 2 black bins (it's on a cart). The rest room is located in the garage area. You will have to exit through the back and the door is on your right. There is not code so don't forget to check to make sure no one's hiding there. Will def be coming back. read more

This was a pretty solid matcha latte, it was a bit more on the earthy side vs the sweeter matcha lattes out there. I will definitely be returning to try the earl grey matcha since my friend said hers was really good. It is your typical cafe with tables to sit and catch up or work on some homework. This is such a beautiful location with an amazing atmosphere. Everything feels welcoming and thoughtfully put together. The matcha is the best I've ever had absolutely delicious and perfectly made! I also tried the Golden Orange. It wasn't my personal favorite, but it was still very tasty and well-crafted. I'll be honest I think they are a little expensive for what I got.. I ordered an oat milk Matcha latte and honestly it just tasted like oat milk... it could've also had a little more sugar or a little sweetener in it too.. it was just bitter and milk! Now they were really busy that day so I get it, but it was my first time here and I live right around the corner and I always walk past it with my dog! Just finally decided to go in and grab a drink and pastry! I also ordered a yuzu croissant and that was good but I felt like it didn't have a lot of yuzu? Just sweet potato! It was good but not great you know? For about 24 bucks (2 drinks+pastry+ tip) j want to expect a little more. But still really flaky and good! I think they purchase their pasteries from elsewhere? I noticed a box in the back but not too sure. It's a very pretty location, big space. I notice alot of people coming to study and there's always people here. The day I came it was sooo hot and the line was out the door. There were no spots so we sat at guillianos and I purchased dessert there to go with my matcha. Anyways my overall experience was alright. The staff is kind and they were all sweaty and working hard. I think It might be a long while until I come back! Found this place by accident on yelp. I am always hunting for small coffee businesses. Located in gardena, this place is a cozy place. This place is always packed inside. Inside is very welcoming.. staffs are super friendly. The only downside is the parking. Parking can be tough, but if your lucky you can find parking right away. mid-sized, aesthetic cafe with great menu selection. when i went, there was a line but it took less than 10 minutes to get through. i had the matcha and my friend had an oat flat white. for the matcha, it was solid but plain. i'd def order the matcha grey next time. the flat white had good consistency. it was pretty busy and seating was all taken. the parking situation is a little rough though... but overall! i think the quality of the place is definitely worth checking out!! read more

I just had to check out Junia Café after seeing the Matcha Grey. As an avid matcha drinker who loves floral teas, this drink was calling to me! I really enjoyed the richness of the matcha and the aroma of the earl grey cream top. I thought that the addition of earl tea tea bits was a nice touch. I also appreciated how there was oat milk in it so it wasn't an extra charge. While I do wish that it came in a bigger cup size, I understand the intent. The smaller cup size or ratio is meant to maintain the flavor of the matcha. The Matcha Grey was so good and it's definitely the kind of drink that you want to savor each sip. This place just opened and it was recommended to my by some friends. It was a rainy day so there wasn't a long line but it was pretty packed inside. Im not sure if they have free WiFi or not but because the walls are cement it is a bit on the louder side. I ordered the earl gray matcha cortado and an orange latte. Earl grey matcha was incredible! I loved how the earl grey flavor came through and the matcha was super rich and flavorful. It was the perfect sweetness but just sad that it was so small. They seem to have lots of artisanal coffees for sale but mostly for pour overs. The orange latte was not my favorite flavor wise and there was some orange pulp inside the drink but I could tell the coffee was good. I'd probably try their toasted vanilla latte if I came back instead. read more

Oh yeah. This place is like my dream cafe. I loved the matcha grey iced latte, especially since it was a cortado. I could've just drank it like a shot it was so good lol. The almond yuzu croissant is really good, but I just thought it was crazy crazy sweet. Staff is very welcoming especially if you don't know any of the drinks on the menu. I also enjoy how spacious the whole cafe is. The big windows, open ceiling, and every seat is spaced out is a nice touch. read more

Junia is located in Gardena and is also by far the best matcha I've had so far. The inside of the coffee shop is very bright and there are lots of tables and outlets along the walls which is good for studying or getting work done. The people who work there are also very kind. Parking is a little difficult, there are 1 hour spots in front that are hard to get or unlimited parking spots further down the street and into the neighborhood. I definitely recommend giving Junia a visit! read more

A good friend of mine wanted to check out This new spot and here we are.. so glad we came. It's such a neat space to hang and have some coffee/Tea and great pastries from a local vendor that are eye catching for sure. As you enter you immediately feel welcomed and I loved that. Very warm and very attentive. Their menu is simple and nothing complicated about it. I'm personally not a coffee drinker but I appreciate when they cater to those who do drink tea. I was mind blown by their Hibiscus Goji Herbal it was so delicious I can't wait to have it again. The way they served it was very dry neat and kept it warm and wasn't overly hot to where I can't enjoy as they served it. The space is inviting and love that they had the space for possible event or just a cool hangout spot for friends. They had a big table so if you wanted to do homework or even work the space is available. I absolutely love the minimalistic feel to it. They had some fresh coffee Beans for sale as well. Love that they are dog friendly they even had a water bowl for the doggies. Def come check them out if you are into coffee my friend loved her drink. One of my fav cafes, staff is always nice and helpful. It's really nice to have more cafes in Gardena/South Bay area that has good amount of seating area. Great coffee with their in house syrups that they make! read more
