Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the line was literally out the door, though it moved fast. The space was wide open, with large benches along the edges of the shop for seating. Service was quick and friendly, and my drink was ready within a couple of minutes. I ordered an Island Matcha, which is their ceremonial grade matcha sweetened with coconut and macadamia syrups with oat milk. It was mild and only slightly sweet, and the matcha itself seemed like high quality. Definitely a lighter, refreshing drink than I anticipated. It was pretty good! read more

One of my new favorite coffee shops has been unlocked! Nook is affiliated with Jetty coffee and I LOVE Jetty Coffee in LA - so naturally I had to give this place a try. They have multiple locations across LA. This one is located within the cutest plaza area called The Enclave. There's no seating in the coffee shop so you can grab your coffee and enjoy a beautiful patio area outside. I went with one of their signature coffees - Honey Oat Latte. It had the perfect balance of coffee flavor and natural sweetness from the honey. I really appreciate how they mix your latte all together before pouring over ice. It's a distinct difference from other coffee shops that I like because It avoids the coffee being too milky. The line can get long but they work pretty quickly and all the staff are great and informed. read more

Small, populate coffee spot in Torrance that my sister raves about. Being a non-coffee drinker she insisted I try a tea latte so I went with a matcha latte. Loved that it wasn't sweet and just was a perfect sip. Also decided to try the ricotta croissant. It was good but it's ricotta and jam.. so you have a hint of sweetness. I had some free time and decided to check out this coffee shop at the Enclave. It ordinary has a long line but today I was able to walk up. I randomly chose the honey oat latte since it automatically came with non dairy milk. It was actually quite good! It's not overly sweet and I downed it pretty fast. Came on a Saturday around 10:20 AM and there was already a good line out the door. Waited about 15 minutes in line and another 10 minutes for the drinks to come out. All I can say is wow. Genuinely the most beautiful latte art I've seen in my life!!! You can tell how well they steam their milk because the consistency was perfect. The foam was stable, and the art didn't immediately dissolve or lose its shape when I picked up the cup. The barista's level of precision and control was seriously impressive , my goodnesssss The hot espresso by itself was yum too. The espresso had floral notes with hints of citrus and fruit coming through, and it's a really enjoyable cup even by itself. I also ordered the chaggachino. It was on the sweeter side for me (I don't like my drinks too sweet), but still very delicious. Creamy, rich, and comforting without completely overpowering the coffee flavors underneath. We also got the ham and cheese croissant, which was nicely warm, buttery and crisp on the outside and good proportion of cheese and ham. I visit a lot of coffee shops, so it does take quite a bit to impress me, but this place absolutely wowed me.... Between the coffee quality and the latte art, I really loved it here!! Great Demand, But Poor Convenience for Working Customers I've had The Nook's mushroom coffee before. My best friend took me here on a weekend afternoon, and even then there was a line, although it was manageable and mostly stayed inside the shop. Because of that experience, I knew The Nook was popular, but I wasn't prepared for what I encountered on a weekday morning. I wanted to pick up a coffee before work, so I actually planned ahead. Before leaving home, I checked the mobile website expecting that, given the obvious demand, there might be an order-ahead option. Unfortunately, there isn't one. So I gave myself an additional 30 minutes specifically for parking, waiting in line, ordering, and waiting for the drink to be prepared. I figured that should be more than enough for a morning coffee pickup. I arrived around 7:30 AM, and as I walked toward The Nook from the south side of The Enclave, I could already see the line stretching out of the door and into the courtyard. I was honestly shocked. There were easily 15-20 people ahead of me. I decided to give it a fair chance and got in line. After 10 minutes, the line had barely moved. At that point, I walked out. I understand that popular businesses get busy, especially in the morning. But there is a difference between being busy and having a customer wait in a line of 15-20 people with virtually no movement at 7:30 AM, particularly when there is no mobile ordering or order-ahead option. For a coffee shop with this level of demand, I find the lack of an ordering system especially frustrating. If you're going to consistently have lines extending outside the business during the morning rush, there should be some way for customers who are trying to grab a drink on their way to work to order ahead. And that's really my issue: the customer experience doesn't seem designed for people who need coffee efficiently. If you're coming here on a weekend, have nowhere to be, or are willing to dedicate an unpredictable amount of time to waiting, you may have a completely different experience. But if you're trying to get coffee before work, I would strongly recommend accounting for significantly more time than you think you'll need -- or having a backup plan. I no longer work as close to The Nook, and I don't drink coffee after noon, so I don't have much reason to make a special trip. Unless I'm conveniently nearby and see little to no line, I won't be making another attempt anytime soon. The Nook clearly has a loyal following, but popularity shouldn't come at the expense of basic convenience. If the demand is consistently this high, the ordering process needs to catch up with it. read more

Located at The Enclave, Nook Coffee Bar always seems to have a line, so I finally decided to see what all the hype was about. On a recent Sunday, the wait really wasn't bad at all. My friend and I stood in line for about 15 minutes, and once we ordered, our drinks were ready in less than five minutes. I chose the lavender matcha, and I was impressed by how well the two flavors balanced each other. Neither overpowered the other, making for a smooth and enjoyable drink. My friend ordered the hibiscus lemonade and found it light and refreshing. One of the best parts of visiting is being able to enjoy your drinks in the spacious outdoor seating area around The Enclave. Great coffee! The service is good and great baristas. The pastries are kind of unique. The donuts are small and are definitely unusual. This was my first time dropping in after lunch across the way. I've been to this area few times. The Mediterranean and Vietnamese places I've frequent often. Chicken shawarma and pho fusion is what I usually order. When you walk into a coffee shop and see Jetty beans and Sante matcha, you already know it's going to be good. I love Jetty's coffee in South Central, so this was a great sign--The Nook and Jetty definitely feel like they're cut from the same cloth. The menu is similar but a bit more expansive. I got a matcha for my sister and a chai latte for myself with macadamia milk, light on the chai. The matcha was a beautiful, vibrant green. My chai was a bit milkier than I expected--but that's on me since I asked for it that way. Still figuring out how to order a chai that works for my sensitive stomach, so it was just okay for me. The line looked long but moved quickly, and our drinks came out pretty fast too. Loved the outdoor courtyard setup--such a nice spot to sit and hang out. Very balanced flavor with lots of chocolate so that each sip is flavorful. The service is well organized and friendly. I like this better than their chain store competitors. This has been a popular South Bay stop, so I'm glad I got to see the hype and try a new matcha cafe. I love the dual space they offer for guests, and although the design is minimal, it's still nicely done! Thankfully, it didn't take too long to order, and though the menu had a good amount of matcha options, I chose the matcha tonic and added lavender for a sweeter taste to it, and it was absolutely delicious. I often ask for light ice (aware of the drink not being as full, which is fine), but it still feels like the drink is gone in seconds after I paid like $7-8 for it. But overall, I'd definitely come again, and I think it was worth the stop. read more

Used to always love coming by Nook when I worked close by! My go to is the iced Spanish latte, their version is light as compared to other coffee shops, yet there's something about the lightness that makes it smooth and enjoyable. Service is your standard hi when you get to the register but not anything special. I do like that although they have lines and are busy that the order still comes out quite fast. So props to that! Ambiance is great because it's nestled in a plaza with a lot of other restaurants and a nice, cozy outdoor spot with lots of seating. Saw a lot of people just hanging out and talking or studying. So my friend has been NAGGING me for the past FIVE years to try this spot if I ever got the chance to - so when I happened to be driving through Torrance I just knew I had to try this spot or I'd never hear the end of it from my friend. Ordered a honey oat latte. Espresso was 4/5. Not sure if it was the oat milk the used or the espresso itself, but something could have been a little different. The indoors is very spacious, which is great, because the line can get pretty long. Service is quick. And they also have an interesting seating area towards the corner with some outlets. We are always exploring new places, and we actually came here once before when we were trying a restaurant next door. Today, we were on our way to Orange County and wanted to grab some coffee along the way. The shop is located in a really cute center with a great ambiance. There always seems to be a line, which is usually a good sign. The staff does a fairly good job serving a large number of customers, but despite that, it still took us about 20-30 minutes to get our order. The coffee was good, but not great--definitely not the best I've had. I hate writing negative reviews, but I wanted to share my honest experience and break it down individually. We ordered a flat white, which was crafted nicely, so I would give that a 5/5. As for the taste of the coffee itself, I thought it was average and would rate it a 3/5. My wife enjoyed it a bit more and would give it a 4/5. One thing I did not like was the milk they use. It is the cheapest milk you can buy, and I personally feel that a gourmet coffee shop should invest in higher-quality milk. For that reason, I would give the milk a 1/5. Ratings: * Coffee Craftsmanship: 5/5 * Coffee Taste: 3/5 (4/5 according to my wife) * Milk Quality: 1/5 * Ambiance: 5/5 * Service: 4/5 Overall, I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5. It's been a year or two since I discovered that nook opened another location here at the enclave. it's still very trendy, with long lines out the door, despite the sudden outbreak of coffee shops appearing all along the South Bay. All the baristas are very friendly and sweet - some I talk to every time I visit. The drinks are of top quality. A co-worker I introduced this shop to, goes every week and the reason she kept coming back was that unlike Starbucks, she doesn't have to make any substitutions. The quality is consistent each and every single time she goes. I agree with her in that every time I go, whether its the honey lavender latte, lavender chai or the matcha - the consistency is the same and the espresso is strong yet smooth. Additionally, after waiting in line and paying for the drink, I get it within a couple minutes which is awesome. The pastries are always fresh as well. I usually get them warmed. Stopped by this location bright and early because I heard they had one of the best Spanish Lattes in the South Bay. THEY WERE NOT WRONG! We arrived right before opening (7:30 on Saturdays). Side note: get there early if you can if you have somewhere to be because by the time we were leaving with our drinks the line was really long. The service is immaculate, the staff were friendly and welcoming and efficient! By the time I was done ordering, minutes later my drink was ready! We were in and out within ten minutes The location is spacious and while there are no tables inside, there is plenty of seating outside and there are some benches inside to sit and wait for your order. I ordered the Spanish latte with oat milk (condensed milk, roasted hazelnut syrups, and cinnamon). This was the best latte I had. They know how to make the drink to where it's sweet and has flavor and you can still taste the coffee. It was amazing and I'm hooked! I also ordered the cookie butter donut and at first I thought it wouldn't be too great because it appeared to look dry, but it was the perfect cake donut. I came by the Nook Coffee bar at the Enclave to grab a drink while I do some work at the outdoor tables. There was luckily no line when I came, (~3 PM) and I easily enough put in my order for an iced chai latte with whole milk. The chai latte was delicious and sweet, the service was super quick and friendly and I was in and out in less than 3 minutes to say the least. The vibes in the area outside of the Nook Coffee bar are great also. There's a ping pong table, fire pit, and plenty of outdoor seating. I've tried the matcha latte here in the past, and I think I prefer the chai one in comparison. The store itself only has a few benches (with one hidden outlet plug underneath) where I saw someone doing work. Overall, a great place to visit if you want to grab a drink! read more

OKAY, ITS GOOD. I came here a few times getting the wrong thing! It's all about the HONEY OAT LATTE. It's the right balance between coffee and a sweet treat. I kept coming here and getting the SPANISH LATTE and it just kept tasting like milk, kept having to add shots and there wasn't much to it. BUT I found their other signature drinks have a lot more to offer. and it's a great location. The enclave is popping. The line is long but at least it is pretty quick. There isn't much of an interior to this coffee shop but you won't need it when you have the whole enclave to lounge in. read more

I had a relatively good experience at this coffee shop in Torrance! I visited this shop on a rainy Saturday early afternoon and the coffee shop was pretty busy despite the rain. For my drink, I ordered the Island Matcha and it was pretty good! The matcha volume was on point and I liked the unique flavoring of this drink. It was made with coconut and macadamia syrup which gave it this nice tropical vibe. The flavors worked pretty well together. It's also default made with oat milk making this a good option for vegans/lactose intolerant people. I was also looking for a coffee shop to get work done in the area and I feel like the experience here could've been better. I read reviews saying the WiFi here was good, but it lagged for me to the point where I had to use my personal hot spot. It might've been because of the rain, but I couldn't stay too long because of it. There are also some benches and mini tables to sit at, but not the most ideal spot to stay for long periods of time since they aren't the most comfiest. I also spotted a couple of outlets. They have a parking lot in front shared with other businesses. For bathrooms, you can use the bathrooms at the food court across. Overall, I would come back again for their Island Matcha and to try their other items, but I'm not sure about working/studying from here again. read more
