I've been meaning to try Junia Café for a while, and I finally got to go! It's a spacious café with plenty of seating to do work or catch up with friends. There's also plenty of parking outside, although finding a spot can be a bit tricky. I'd heard about their signature matcha grey, but sadly, I think they took it off their menu. I opted for their standard matcha latte, which was really good: strong matcha flavor, yet not astringent and smooth to the taste. It was lightly sweetened with agave, which was fine, but it did get a bit too sweet towards the end, as the agave was mostly at the bottom. Personally, I like my matcha lattes unsweetened these days, so I'd choose to opt out of sweeteners next time, if possible. Overall, quality matcha at Junia Café!
Junia Cafe is my go-to when I'm in/around the Gardena area. There's a variety of seating, lots of natural light, and outlets available if you need them. The interior is pretty open, but doesn't feel bare. I like bringing my laptop along and found that I can be pretty productive in this space. I've had the Matcha Grey (sadly no longer offered), Jasmine Matcha, and Matcha Latte. My drinks were all very smooth, and the signature flavors didn't overpower the matcha. They each had differing levels of sweetness, but were never too sweet. I haven't tried their coffees, but they all sound tasty. Prices are pretty comparable to other spots these days. The service at Junia Cafe is what stands out the most to me. The staff is always friendly and seem like they genuinely enjoy making each person's drink. I don't think they would mind if you needed your drink re-made for whatever reason. I've also noticed them personally delivering drinks to customers who are already settled in with their laptops, or groups with little kids. It's a small thing, but it's appreciated. I also love that they host community events from time to time. Parking feasibility depends on the day. There's no designated lot, but there are some spots right in front. If those are full, you could also look for parking down the block. My one suggestion is in regards to the dish drop-off area. Because of the bins' size relative to the rack, it can be difficult to drop off dishes without pulling out most of the bin, especially if dishes are piled up towards the front. This isn't always the easiest thing to do if you don't have both hands free, or if you have a bag on your shoulder. Maybe a bigger rack with more clearance between the bin and shelf would help? Probably my favorite local matcha/coffee shop. It's a very cute and new Korean cafe with huge windows, gorgeous natural lighting, and light wooden accents that make the place feel quite upscale. I had never seen a matcha earl grey until them (or a matcha cortado at that), and even though it is tiny, it is so powerful, with a packed matcha punch, and I love that (unfortunately, I think the matcha grey is discontinued so please bring it back). Their jasmine matcha latte is also quite good with subtle floral hints and still a very strong rich matcha flavor, it comes heavily iced though
Right before closing, I was able to stop by Junia Cafe and try their jasmine matcha latte. Staff was very understanding, and the drink was made quickly. The matcha was smooth and earthy, while the jasmine added a light floral aroma that made the drink taste really freshing. The jasmine complemented the matcha well, and my friend and I were able to enjoy our drinks for a bit in their lovely space before closing time.
The service was great the workers are very welcoming. The space is nice and open. Not too loud and a good place to study or hang. They have a lot of great signature drinks on their menu as well as small plates and pastries. There's street parking but not a lot. I got the mocha grey latte and jasmine matcha and both were great and strong, but I was mostly impressed by the workers attitude all of them were very kind and welcoming and gave positive vibes .
We visited Junia Café around 10:30 am on a Saturday and it was quite packed. Seating was limited, but we were able to grab a table pretty quickly once one opened up. We originally wanted to order the Matcha Grey, but were disappointed to find out they no longer serve it. As an alternative, the staff recommended ordering the regular Matcha Latte with Earl Grey syrup for an extra $1. We tried that along with the Jasmine Matcha Latte. Both drinks were good, but I personally preferred the Jasmine Matcha Latte. The Earl Grey Matcha Latte was a little too sweet for me, while my partner preferred it because they felt the Jasmine Matcha Latte wasn't sweet enough. It really comes down to your sweetness preference, but the matcha quality overall was solid. There isn't a dedicated parking lot, but there was plenty of street parking nearby, especially along 166th St. I'd come back to Junia Café to try some of their other drinks and possibly their coffee next time.

The best jasmine tea matcha and mocha grey latte and it was phenomenal. The jasmine tea in-house syrup was divine, paired with the smoothest matcha I've had in all of Los Angeles so far. Ambiance is very calm and peaceful with people working on their laptops in the cafe. Can only recommend. Best coffee and matcha I've had. It's just a little far from me or else I would be coming here every week!
It was my first time here at Junia Café and it did not disappoint! I was greeted by a barista who had a kind demeanor and a warm smile, and the drinks came out swiftly. I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk as well as the earl grey mocha. The matcha powder that they use is high quality, and it's sweetened just enough with agave that the matcha shines through. The flavors in the earl grey mocha complimented each other very well. The lighting is natural and bright with their large windows, and there is a lot of seating for those who want to study or have a place to chat!
Came here to meet up with a family member who enjoys this spot. I found the drinks to be a bit pricey. Service was fast and the ambiance is chill.
Jasmine Matcha Latte (10/10) - genuinely the best drink at junia and it is amazing. the ratio of jasmine to matcha is the perfect balance of both flavors and the matcha itself is so smooth it is actually like silk. Matcha Latte (10/10) - the best matcha latte in gardena and it stomps yeems coffee. it is just as silky smooth as the jasmine matcha latte and although it is not hand whisked (i think) it is made in a tea kettle so it is fresh and not oxidized like other batch made matchas. oat milk was 50 cents which is reasonable and it comes in 12 or 16 oz (for extra charge) Parking - there is a decent amount of street parking that you don't have to pay for in front of the cafe but I came on a sunday afternoon and parked in the residential area one block away which is not bad at all Staff and Service - the staff was amazing and really nice and looked like they really enjoyed putting effort into their crafted drinks!
Customer service is 10/10. The person who took my order was very friendly. She definitely made my experience better. Fast service. My drink was ready in no time. Parking wasn't the easiest but I was able to find one. When it comes to matcha lattes, I'm super picky because I feel like I can make a good one at home. I genuinely think the matcha latte here is incredible! I mean, just look at that color! Super smooth, well balanced, and the perfect amount of sweetness. It's just perfection. Also love that it's sweetened with agave. I got mine with oat milk and it was the best matcha latte I've had in a long time. The best in Gardena, imo. I definitely will be coming back and recommending this place to all my fellow matcha latte enthusiasts.

This place is super cute and the vibes are immaculate! Good tables and space to study at or just meet a friend for coffee and a chat. Employees were nice and service was great. Street parking was pretty easy as it's right in the downtown Gardena area. Drinks itself are pretty solid, but a bit pricey. They did mention ahead of time the matcha I ordered would come in a smaller cup but for the price...it's still a bit steep for what you get. The flavor was good though! I love matcha but I'd actually prefer the oolong drink given the price point, cup size, and overall great flavor. read more

I met my match(a), and it's here at Junia! The matcha/coffee scene is so saturated now, so it's really hard to know which places are actually serving quality matcha. But Junia DEFINITELY lives up to any hype and more! The interior is minimal but intentionally decorated. I love the wood furnishing against the slate walls. Service was very warm and friendly, and the cashier gave me a full run down of the menu and their signatures. Although not explicitly on the menu, they were able to make me a matcha latte with their house made toasted vanilla bean syrup which was the best addition to a matcha latte I've ever tasted. They have a secret ingredient but whatever it is, it made my tastebuds transcend. Matcha was perfectly umami and not too grassy yet also creamy, just the way I like it. Only qualm is that I wish the sizes were bigger because it's so good!! But I know usually quality drinks come in small packages. Parking was interesting. They have diagonal parking spaces along the fronting street. Just watch out for signage with parking limits. I visited on a weekday, so I didn't have much of an issue. Junia is where I go to get a great cup of coffee. They focus on quality over trends. The space is beautifully curated. Theres a few tables but I hear it might get busy during the afternoons. They offer special pour-overs, yummy espresso and they even provide info on your beans. Amongst all these new trendy cafes, Junia stands out for an excellent selection of beans and drinks. I hope to try out their new kitchen menu in the future. read more

What can I say about Junia that hasn't been said already? I could talk about how great the staff are, how welcoming the space is, which amazing drink to try, but it all comes down to experiencing it for yourself. As an early riser in the ever growing cafe scene of the South Bay, and Gardena specifically, Junia has positioned itself as a community staple in the short time period since its doors first opened. This space is welcoming and draws you in to take a seat, have a drink, enjoy the company of both the regulars and the people stumbling across this place because of social media alike. My usual drink choices are the following: Matcha Grey, Iced Hojicha Latte, Toasted Vanilla Latte, and the Milky Pear Oolong if I crave some tea. The drinks are all well made and come out fairly quickly. There are days I even order drinks twice! Junia is a great addition to the South Bay community and I am excited to see how this place continues to grow! read more
Beautiful cafe with large seating area. My husband and I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk and matcha grey. Matcha latte was light and milky. We prefer a double matcha but didn't see that on the menu. When I ordered the server was kind enough to explain to me that the matcha grey is a 9 oz cortada with earl grey cream top. This is so well balanced with deep matcha and earl grey flavor complimenting each other with perfect amount of sweetness. Highly recommend! Parking was hard to find on a Saturday morning but found a spot in the residential area. read more
I enjoyed Junia Cafe, it fits the bill for a trendy space for trendy people to enjoy trendy drinks. I walked into a space where everything is laid bare: the baristas will make your drink right in front of you, which is always appreciated. No tricks, no frills. I got the Matcha Gray, and I have some thoughts. The flavors were bold, and the matcha was great quality. The drink did come with a warning that it's small (on purpose). I should've known that a drink that comes with a disclaimer is not for people like me, a casual matcha drinker. I found the 75% ice, airplane in-flight drink-sized cup leaving me thinking I ordered the wrong thing. However, with what Junia does well, they blew me away. The latte art on the hojicha latte was clean. And the ham and cheese croissant! Came with mustard and gherkins, and that was something I never knew I desired until now. Junia Cafe was memorable, though I wish they gave something out to help me remember them, like a sticker, or even a cup sleeve. A welcome addition to Gardena. read more

When my sister here for a coffee date. Everyone inside was very welcoming and answered my questions since it was my first time ever going there. My sister had been there before so she knew exactly what she wanted. We placed our order and sat at the main table. There's a lot of space and a lot of areas to sit, which was really nice. We were able to talk and look through some books we had brought, I just really enjoyed this space Our coffees were amazing. I can't remember what my sister talked to me into having, but it was really strong, but not bitter. Very smooth. She did give me a taste of hers as well and I really enjoyed it. My sister had some questions about some of the artwork and pastries when we were leaving, and the staff was able to answer all her questions and we're very very friendly read more

Such a cute new addition to Gardena! Junia Cafe is located on the ground floor of an apartment building. There is street parking available, but it can fill up, so you might have to park a little farther down the street. Love the vibes of this cafe! Friendly service, and it's so fun to watch your drinks being made! They offer a variety of coffee drinks, matcha and hojicha, and unique speciality drinks. We got the Matcha Grey (matcha oat cortado and earl grey cream) and a Yuzu Shiso Ade. Both were so yummy and very pretty! I'll definitely be back to try some more of their specialty drinks! read more

Junia is super popular and for good reason. The cafe is amply spacious and lots of tables for people to meet and do work and/or study. It's definitely the nicest cafe in an already gentrifying area. It's nice to see. Junia is the quintessential manifestation of the 4th wave of coffee, and it's such a joy to experience. This isn't Starbucks so don't expect that kind of experience. The coffee is solid. The hojicha latte is extraordinary. I'll be coming back to try the other drinks, but it has been a very positive experience thus far. Parking can be a little tough as it's street parking, but usually you can park a few streets down in the residential area. read more

I love visiting Junia Cafe! Along with it being so close to home, all of the drinks i've tried so far are so good! My favorite drink has to be their seasonal Earl Grey Hot Chocolate (looking forward to the holidays just for this). My go to is their Matcha Latte and if i'm craving a coffee i'll get their Toasty Vanilla Latte. The staff are always kind and helpful. I love the ambiance of the cafe. It's a great place to work, study, or just hang out. They come out with seasonal drinks and i'm always looking forward to what unique drink they have next. Here to report that the almost $7 Matcha Grey is (unfortunately) worth every penny :') I've come here twice, and both times I'm in shock at how well-made this drink is! The earl grey and matcha flavors go so well together, nothing overpowers the other in the best way possible. I get 50% sweetness, but may try 25% sweetness next time. Just note that this drink is really really small, but it's concentrated goodness in a cup! Parking isn't the easiest, but if you are willing to walk a little and park in the surrounding residential streets, you will not have a problem (at least during a Friday ~12pm)! Good service. I find that the tables are usually taken so it may be hard to find a spot to do work here! read more

I had a great experience at this café in Gardena! From a spacious interior to delicious drinks, this is café worth checking out. I had two drinks for my first visit: - Matcha Grey: Delicious and creamy with good matcha and earl grey flavor. Love that they make this with oat milk as a default. One of the smallest matcha drinks I've ever had, so it's good to pair with an additional drink. - Golden Orange Latte: Loved the flavor of this one which married the espresso, orange, and cinnamon flavors well. Kinda choked a bit on the flower garnishes, but at least it was pretty haha. Pastries seem to be sourced from a separate bakery and are on the pricier side. The interior is clean, spacious, and optimal for working/studying at. There are outlets, wifi, and a good amount of seating and tables. There is also a bathroom as well. For parking, it's street/neighborhood parking which is free I believe. I would definitely recommend and come back here! read more

Ambiance: it's a trendy coffee shop located on the ground level of an apartment building, limited street parking in front, despite there's a parking garage in the rear attached to the establishment, but it's not for public, so it's fairly tedious to look for street parking in the neighborhood. The store is spacious overall, however, quite crowded and loud inside, the open space is not equipped with enough tables and chairs to accommodate the volume, quite of few groups were standing and waiting for someone to leave Service: friendly and welcoming, the drinks were made efficiently through the line of staff working together Drink: simple menu items with a few of their store specialities GOLDEN ORANGE LATTE - *** orange syrup and cinnamon, very sweet taste MATCHA GREY - **** matcha oat cortado, earl grey cream, small cup as described, creamy top and bold matcha, recommend Price: fine quality and slightly pricy for the South Bay area, expect about $7 per drink read more

I ordered the earl grey matcha cortado. The size is small because it is a cortado but the flavor is delicious. I ordered a regular butter croissant which was big, very buttery, and super flaky. I'm not sure if they make their baked goods in house but they are yummy regardless. They have wifi which is awesome if you're someone trying to get some work done. They have a few parking spots out front but when I showed up 40 minutes after opening none were available. There is plenty of street parking in the area regardless. Love to see Gardena expanding. Coffee shops like Junia are why I love being home again. Came here on a Wednesday morning to study. Madeline helped me pick out a coffee. She was very helpful and fun to chat with. I got the tomato pesto croissant with one of the specialty pour overs. Loved the way the coffee is served, in a serving glass and pot. This spot is spacious. Jazzy music in the morning. It's a great place to study, but you have to get here early. Seating is limited. Service is courteous and quick. Everyone was a pleasure. We stopped by Junia on a Sunday afternoon. It was the first time driving by and seeing it open so we parked and went into check out the "new coffee" shop that had opened a few months ago. We got the Match Earl Grey and the Pear Oolong Tea. The matcha grey was a condensed little drink but creamy with a punch of flavor. The Pear oolong was very refreshing and I can see myself order those often when summer rolls around. The also have a lot of specialty coffee beans and teas to purchase for at home brewing. The staff was very friendly and the vibe of the store is very relaxed. Lots of bench seating AND OUTLETS for those who wanna bring their laptops and work/study. They also have dog bowls with water and I saw a lady inside w her Dachshund (and the staff seemed ok with it) so I guess it's dog friendly? As a dog owner, I would love to bring my dogs but also sure that's possible a health code issue? Parking is available along Gardena or in the surrounding neighborhood so it can be kinda of hit or miss but as of now, "Downtown Gardena" isn"t super busy so parking is plentiful most of the day. The store itself has rather short hours which made it hard to get to until now. It's either go early in the AM before work (because they close at 3pm on weekdays) or go on a weekend when they close at 4pm. Having such hours isn't really convenient for most people who work 9-5 or even for high schoolers or people who finish at 3. And for that, I docked this place a star. I struggled with this because I wasn't sure if this was fair but it felt like having hours which makes it so most people can only go on weekends, days off, or early in the morning feels like a soft way of gatekeeping. The store owners have the right to set whatever hours they want but from a convenience experience for consumers, the hours felt a bit restrictive. read more

I stumble upon Junia Cafe a few days in the evening in the rain, I decided to return earlier and when it was dry. It's on the corner Gardena Blvd. and Normandie Ave. there isn;t a name on the building just the address, there is free parking in the front only with a few one hour parking. We were greeting by Anthony who was very friendly and helpful, he give us info. about Junia Cafe plus took our order, we got the tosted vanilla latte with almond milk that was very flavable plus delicious. They also sell specialty coffee and pastries too. There are about 10 table and chair's with seat cushions, two long bench seating with outlet's, one huge community table with a bench seating and about six small stool's and three chair's at a bar area. Service was top notch, Anthony check on us and pass info. that Junia only been open six weeks, I will return soon. read more

I got to try Junia Café a few days ago. It's a bit inconspicuous from the outside, I almost missed it driving down the street. But I realized it was the cafe soon after lol so I went in an took a look at the menu and decided on the matcha grey, which is a combination of matcha and an earl grey cream top. My drink came out pretty quickly even though it looked busy. I don't think I realized that telling them "for here" meant they would give me a glass cup but it's okay, I just would have preferred to take my drink and go so keep that in mind if you try this place. The drink itself was actually pretty tasty. I really liked how flavorful the earl grey cream top was. I honestly would've like a tad bit more sweetness in the matcha as it was either not sweetened at all or was sweetened veryyyy little but it was still good as a whole. There's a good amount of seating inside, and I'm not sure if they had a restroom but it seemed like they did because people kept walking in and out of this one side door. Parking outside is just street parking and it seems pretty limited. read more
