Plenty of seats both downstairs and upstairs. Plenty of fresh seafood and places you can order! We got crab, seafood buckets, and their fried fish lunch specials. The fried fish was pretty tasty

Had a great experience here. The food is so tasty and the prices are great. They have a great lunch special, great happy hour and a great Friday special too. I'm definitely going to be coming back here. The seafood is definitely great quality. Everything tasted really great. The only thing I didn't really like from what I got was the aguachile - it wasn't that good. It wasn't bad but just wasn't my favorite. I did really enjoy the fish taco and the oysters. The clam chowder was also soooo good!!! Can't wait to come back.

This place is really close right off of the pier. It's walking distance from my friends place so we decided to embark on this journey. It's only five dollars on Fridays so it was a really good deal to have $10 for two items for lunch. The seating area is nothing fancy. It's quite dirty actually, but you can ask them for table covers and they serve all sorts of seafood. A little disappointed with the grilled fish it was overcooked and dry. The ceviche, however, was excellent. It is part of the five dollar meal. I can see why this place doesn't have better readings, particularly because the service is incredibly slow at picking up your Taco. They don't call out numbers as they bring them ready to be delivered instead they wait for you to bring your ticket to them and they find it, which is quite inefficient. Not sure if I will come back other than for the ceviche.

This is a So Cal staple when it comes to fresh seafood. There is almost always a long line, but not a long wait....that's when you know it's good. We ordered everything but the kitchen sink.....the shrimp ceviche, the shrimp cocktail, the fish and chips, the clam chowder, the garlic bread and to me the star of the show was the delicious popcorn shrimp deep fried to perfection....they had my Coke Zero on hand and that bumped it up to a 10 out of 10 for us. We will 100% be back!

    Ana's Seafood Boil

So if smells like a tourist trap, barks like a tourist trap, and appears like a tourist trap. Then it's probably is! Look I would've given this place 3 stars, but the customer service and wait time was ridiculous. Hear me out, this is my experience from last Saturday. So first it can be challenging to find this place, since the pier has so many level to it. Look for the elevators. When you get there, for the first time, you see a main line, well for what? Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care! But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.

I came here for lunch with some friends on the weekend and it gets really crowded. Luckily we were able to find some seating. I ordered a fish taco, fish and chips, and fried calamari. The fish taco was full of toppings with fresh battered fish. The fish and chips were a generous portion and the fried calamari was amazing. Everything was fresh and made quickly. Definitely would recommend!

There's no better feeling than eating fresh oysters by the beach. Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of oysters and I wasn't able to get one of the oyster combos for $24 :( I did get the Mirada, Little Creek and Baja Oysters, which did fix my oyster craving and were still delicious. My favorite was Little Creek as it was the perfect balance between briney and buttery.

    Twelve different oysters

It is my turn to order. The oysters and clams are lined up from the lower priced ones to the higher priced ones. I tell the oysterista that I would like a dozen oysters. I explain that I would like the first 12 oysters, as I point down the line of oysters. In other words, I want 12 different oysters/clams. The oyster shucker just looks at me. Shoot. Did I make some oyster ordering faux pas? I get a flashback. The last time I was here a few years ago, I got oysters for my son to try for the first time. I asked for cocktail sauce, gasp! That oysternazi told me, "We don't serve cocktail sauce here". He might as well have told me, "No oysters for you!". Was he being a little rude? Maybe. Was he being a little snobby? For sure. Was he sticking to his oyster lover principles. Most definitely. Back to the present. So, did I just screw up again? My current oyster handler is still staring at me, so I ask, "Is it okay to do that?" He tells me, "Sure, that's fine". The oyster master rings me up and tells to me that no one has ever ordered twelve different oysters before, but that it's all good (which explained his reaction). My oyster man carefully picks each oyster and clam for me like he is picking fruit. He's working hard as he hammers and shucks all my shellfish. He carefully preserves the liqueur in each half shell. My oyster guru serves my meal to me and says he put the oysters in order, so I can tell which oyster I am eating. I didn't dare to hope. I thought I would be eating and tasting blindly. This man is a true oyster professional. I'm impressed. I am at the table with my sisters, but not really. I'm actually in a sort of trance, preparing myself to taste 12 different kinds of fresh raw mollusks. I put on a little squeeze of lemon on top then take a small sip of the liqueur. I slurp up the bivalves, chew, taste, and swallow. I do this 12 times. I make mental notes on each ones. I am finally back to reality again. I've never had an oyster eating extravaganza like this. The clam chowder is thick and excellent. The fish tacos are very good. The poke, aguachile, fried oysters and calamari are okay. It doesn't really matter. The oyster experience I had was simply one of a kind.

All of this food for $109 with tax!??!? It was soooooo good with lobster, mussels, clams, shrimp, potato, sausage, and corn! The workers were all super nice and accommodating and the view with the food was so worth every second!

    Uni (sea urchins)
    Catherine G.

Took a day trip to dine at Quality Seafood for lunch. Our party ordered: Uni (sea urchins, raw), Santa Barbara crabs, a Spider crab, steamed clams (Littlenecks, Savory, and Cherrystone), fish & chips (for the kids), white rice, and clam chowder). All dishes tasted fresh and delicious! Service was prompt and the Quality Seafood team members were friendly. Dining is outdoors with a view of the water and boats. Minus 1 star for the cost of our meal ($$$+). Enjoy!

This has become part of my weekend routine. We stop by around brunch time when it's still calm, pick our clams and oysters, grab fresh fish, and never skip the shrimp ceviche. The tostadas with the ceviche is delightful. Quality seafood never disappoints. They have a good selection of beers which pairs perfectly with the seafood. I also found out that QS has been here since 1953 and the largest seafood retail market in the West Coast! The servers are always amazing-friendly, patient, and on point even with a mix of tourists and locals like us. It's one of those places that still feels familiar no matter how many times you come back.

Decent seafood in Redondo Beach, but definitely leans touristy and on the pricey side. Portions felt small for the price. Lobster bisque and lobster rolls were solid, but oysters were hit or miss, and some dishes came out overcooked. Honestly, if you want better value and fresher seafood, I'd stick with San Pedro Fish Market.

Ask the Community - Quality Seafood

    Is this location dog friendly?

    Yes

Can the fish be grilled without any seasoning (we have dietary restrictions)?

Yes of-course. Just tell the staff they are super friendly

    Do they serve white rice?

They sure do. You can get it as a side or with your meals.

    Is there lobsterfest this year?

Yes, but prices went up. Last year it was $28.99 and now it's $35 for a lobster meal

Are there still outdoor tables to sit at during covid or is it takeout only?

    Outdoor sitting available.

How does their rewards points system work? I see the info at the bottom of each receipt

Hello! Follow the instructions on the bottom receipt. You add points to your "account" with each purchase & you can redeem them in the future for discounts/selected items. Hopefully they have updated how their system works. It gave me some issues…

    Are the restroom open?

Not sure. They do not have their own restrooms. There are public restrooms near the parking area. Not sure if they r open

Is dine-in already allowed in this place?

There is no dine in area. You go in to the fish market to order. Then find a table or bench to eat. It gets crowded!

Do they serve steamed white rice too?

    Yes

    Yes on both

Yes! We will be open from 12-5PM. Come on down!

What's the policy on BYOB here? I know they sell it, but are we allowed to bring our own? I will have bottles that I know they don't sell.

No, I am sorry Tovan. I am sure you can understand due to liability issues and what our ABC license dictates, we do not allow outside food or beverages. Even though the seating is outside, it is still considered our premises/dining area. I hope you…

Would there be any fresh seafood left if we came on a Sunday at 4pm?

Yes, the hours are until 8pm on Sunday it says on the website. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Does this restaurant have weever fish?

    I did not see any.

What are the hours for Thanksgiving weekend Nov 23-26, 2017?

Do they get a fresh batch of uni everyday? and when does uni usually run out?? *thanks for all the…

Yes they get a fresh batch everyday but the last shipment is on Friday I believe. Uni does tend to run out by Saturday if your planning to go on the weekend. I also suggest getting the smaller uni because the big ones aren't as fresh.

Usually I buy my meats from grocery stores-- whether it's 99 Ranch, Heart, Lazy Acres, Sprouts,…read moreTokyo Central, Ralphs, Walmart-- I've been to them all! When the Butchery opened up a couple of years ago, I was curious. It took about 6 months after opening for me to step in. At first impression, I thought the store to be clean, organized, and just gives you the confidence that you're about to get some of the freshest, cleanest, and most high quality meats out there. I didn't buy anything though, instead, I ordered The Butchery Burger with a side of fries to go. In a world that is consumed by smashed burgers, the Butchery Burger is a restaurant quality burger, with a nice thick juicy patty. The burger bun was soft, pillowy, and sweet-- paired with some fresh arugula and tomatoes to cut the richness of that juicy beef patty. The burger comes with a side of beef tallow fries. Speaking of fries-- those beef tallow fries are some of the best I've ever had. Have you ever had a McDonald fry, where the end is a cubed, stubby nubbin. The texture is super crunchy, shatter-crisp, and golden brown. Now imagine that -- but instead of just the end piece, but rather a whole fry-- every single fry. It's salty, crispy, deliciousness with the warm buttery smell of beef tallow. Mmmm... simple perfection! ** Note, I'm sure these are likely one of the most unhealthy fries, but we all have to treat ourselves some time!*** All that on just the Butchery Burger and its fries. It was so good, I had to go back for more-- my 2nd time around, I got the smashed burger. The smashed burger was just as delicious as the Butchery Burger-- just very different. Since the burger came with grilled onions w/ cheese and a nice thick spread of garlic aioli, make sure to add pickles to your pickle to cut through some of that richness and decadence. Upon first bite, it didn't occur to me that the spread was garlic aioli; I actually thought it was a ton of mayo. But it had a garlic and oniony flavor with a bit of sweetness that left me confused and perplexed. I had to keep going back for more. Besides the smash burger, I also grabbed some frozen oxtail and some Argentine shrimp. everything looked super fresh and I can't wait to cook them up! The Butchery is definitely worth a trip-- even if you're not coming for the meat, check it out for the hot foods-- w/ the burgers and fries being the first item to try. You won't regret it!

Great service. Cocktail was refreshing and yummy. Appetizers: pan seared scallops and chilled soba…read morenoodles were mouthwatering. BF luvd his Koshihkari rice dish with shrimp, blue crab and uni. So why only four stars?? My Chilean sea bass was overcooked: dry and not tender. The sauce and veggies saved the dish. But it would've been stellar if the sea bass was perfectly cooked. Gave this note to our server to pass along to the kitchen. Server comped us a free dessert. FWD: Fish should not be a miss for a seafood restaurant, especially when Chilean sea bass is a pretty forgiving fish to cook. Maybe it was one off???
