The food is truly Coni's Seafood's selling point. We have been going to the original Inglewood location for years, so we were excited to hear there is now a Hermosa location as well. We came in on a Friday night and it was surprisingly quiet. The ambiance was fine overall, though the lighting was very harsh and could definitely benefit from dimmers to make the space feel warmer and more inviting. Our server, however, was very helpful and accommodating throughout the meal. Now to the important part, the food. We ordered the snook as always and it did not disappoint. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The sautéed onions served with it are so good they could honestly be eaten on their own. We also ordered the ceviche marinero, another staple for us, and requested the shrimp be pre-cooked, which they accommodated with no issue at all. The micheladas are a must order here. Tangy, perfectly spicy, and the ideal drink to pair with the flavorful chips and salsa, which also bring plenty of heat and flavor. If you care more about incredible seafood than trendy ambiance, Coni's continues to deliver. read more

We had quite the interesting experience at Coni seafood and frankly, I was surprised to see that they are listed on the Michelin guide. But perhaps the original Inglewood location is better. My friend and I stopped in during the week for lunch to a mostly empty restaurant. The staff member who told us that we could sit anywhere looked confused to see us. From there the service just became more and more strange. We felt like we were in a fever dream. From a server taking 15 minutes to make a margarita because she kept stopping to fill up a storage bucket of chips, to the first server not knowing the name of the menu items he was recommending us, to them forgetting one of the items we ordered, but pretending like they remembered until they came back 5 minutes later to ask what we meant. It was very odd. The food itself was good but I have had the same style of dishes at other restaurants and they were just as good. The shrimp tacos gobernador had good flavor, and the taco shell stayed crispy. I wish it had more shrimp. We also had the shrimp in house sauce. I don't know if there's another name for it because that's the one that the server recommended but couldn't find on the menu. Again, very tasty, but you can see from the photo how sparse the shrimp was. The sauce was great for dipping my tacos into. Overall, I wouldn't return to this location. I love the original spot, on imperial and Yukon. It's a Lennox staple: the food is fantastic, my favorite hands down is the Ceviche Marinero. Uffffffff. The ceviche rojo is fire. The pescado sarandiado is amazing. The pescado chicharrones, the cucarachitassssss! Mann. Try it's the service is great, just remember it's made to order and it's alway packed, so be aware. Tried out the hermosa location 30 minutes before closing and the service was still 10/10 . Super friendly and not rushed at all, which I really appreciated. The ceviche... OMG it was SO GOOD. Honestly better than the other location, it was that good. So fresh, so flavorful I was obsessed. I also tried the michelada it was good, but the beer kind of overpowered the mix a bit but, still hit though! Overall, such a great experience. We have been fans of Coni'Seafood in Inglewood for awhile so we were so happy when they opened up the location in Hermosa. We went on a weeknight and it was quite empty. We ordered the ceviche marinero, which was delicious as expected. We also got my favorite dish, the cucarachitas, but this location's version is spicier and more wet vs. the crispier fried version at the other location. Still good but I do think I prefer the other location's version a bit better. We also got the zarandeado and some delicious micheladas. About two weeks ago, a third location of the well-lauded Coni'Seafood opened in Hermosa Beach, two blocks away from the water. I had just learned of this spot days ago through a two-year-old episode of a podcast and knew I needed to pay a visit. Being hindered by my own small stomach, I ordered a Modelo Negro and shrimp aguachiles but wanted to order more food. My server promptly brought over thick golden tortilla chips in a deep bowl with a small ramekin of puckering lime juice, green chili and perhaps cucumber, and then checked on other patrons. The Modelo arrived in a large chilled glass mug alongside some ice water in a mason jar. I didn't time how long my aguachiles took but the website clearly states that all raw seafood is prepped to order. Can't rush perfection! My order of 8 butterflied head-on shrimp arrived looking freshly prepped and super plump, each dressed with green marinade. The deveining job was also commendable and slivers of red onion each sliced the same width, I understood why this place hangs awards on its walls. Each shrimp was about two bites. Popping open the heads like car trunks revealed a third slurp of oceanic soft brine. By the time I got to shrimp number 8, it looked more opaque and "cooked." The website, but not the paper menu, stated that all raw orders are cold cooked and can be modified upon request. I think on my next visit, I'll let the shrimp sit in the lime blend a few minutes longer before digging in, purely personal preference, and request a spoon so I can drink up all the leftover marinade. I found myself tipping the plate attempting to catch juices on my tortilla chips. For those who want a little more cure on their raw seafood or aren't ready for fully raw shrimp, I'm told ceviche receives a longer cure time versus a super short cured aguachile. I was surprised that a large beer, 8 shrimp and a bowl of chips filled me up so much but I'm excited to come back at try more from the menu. read more

We have now just finished our third time here. It has been absolutely fantastic. First time we had the snook (1 kilo about 2lbs), also known as Zarandeado and also had the shrimp in butter and pepper. Second time, yesterday, we had the snook again, shared between the two of us, and beers and a couple simple vodka drinks. And then we enjoyed it so much yesterday, we came back today. Today, we had the langostinos in their special sauce (really tasty with some heat) and also had the shrimp in butter and pepper, again. Same server all three times. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Watched some Olympics yesterday, and today just hanging out at the cool window tables getting a great breeze from the ocean. Definitely going to try one of the ceviches next time. Everything has such amazing flavor. So unique and nothing like it in HB or MB. read more

I've been a regular at Coni'Seafood's Del Rey (Centinela) location, where both the food and service have always been consistently great. Unfortunately, my experience at the Hermosa Beach location was very disappointing. Despite having a reservation for six, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated while the restaurant wasn't full, with no communication or updates from staff. Once seated, the chips and ceviche arrived promptly and were good, but the entrees took close to two hours. We understand pescado zarandeado takes about 30 minutes and were completely fine with that, but this was far beyond a reasonable wait. At one point, we asked about the langostinos and were told "5 more minutes," yet it took about 20 minutes longer. A table seated after us received their food sooner, and there were no updates throughout the meal. Service overall felt inattentive. Staff were often gathered chatting, we waited to pay with no one coming to the table, and ultimately had to go up to the front ourselves. We also noticed cleaning supplies left out near a dining table for an extended period, which didn't feel appropriate. I also shared this feedback with staff during the visit, but there was no acknowledgment or apology. The food quality was still good, which is the only reason for two stars, but the lack of communication and overall service made for a frustrating experience. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return to this location and would recommend the Del Rey (Centinela) location instead. This location would benefit from stronger management and attention to service. read more

This is for management to get it together or this place is not going to succeed. If you are looking for great service and are super hungry this is not the place for you. The first time I tried this place we asked for the small fish zarandeado and the waitress told us they were out of the small one and only have the medium or large size so we ordered the medium since we really wanted to try it. As we are enjoying our meal we hear her tell the people next to us that all they had available at the moment were the small size fish and we looked at each other like that's so wrong. So the people next to us got a small fish. Made us feel lied to and uneasy about that. The food was good so we said let's give this place another try so this being our 2nd time around OMG it was worse than the 1st time. Took a while to get seated and the place was not full. We finally got seated and waited a long time to the point that I had to get up and go ask for menus. After we ordered and got our food which also took a long time they didn't come check on us to the point that I had to get up again and as for more lime, napkins along with other things needed to enjoy my food. I wasn't the only one upset about the service. A man there left REALLY upset stating it's been an hour and he still hadn't got his food so he walked out super upset. The food is good but not worth the experience. Perhaps I'll try one of their other locations but this one SUCKS!!! I hope management does something about this. Maybe they need to hire more people as I only saw 2 waitresses. The bad customer service gives this place a bad ambiance. Coni's Seafood is sooo good. My husband and I went twice in one week, which says everything. We started with the michelada and the chips and salsa. Be careful with the chips and salsa because they are so good you might get full before the food even comes out. The camarones ahogada roja were bomb. We also ordered the zarandeado (1 lb) and wow, it was amazing. The caramelized onions, perfectly cooked fish, and warm tortillas together were so good. Our waitress Jaimie was the cherry on top. The single star is for the friendly if inaccurate service. Overpriced, unintersting food. Smell of grease in the air clung to my clothes. Serving multiple Modelos to the table, mine was 1/3 empty (foam went down I suppose). Nice server brought me a second full beer at no extra charge, thumbs up there. We order ( party of 8 for a birthday because we had always heard how good the food was and some of us had just returned from Mexico). Two of us CLEARLY TWICE said that we were sharing the pescado. They end up bringing us two entrees. I complain briefly, but the guy says, I will bring you a box for the leftovers. (Bear in mind this food is not a bargain). I do not complain again because I JUST complained about the beer, but have afterburn about this. It is not my fault you served me a beer that was 1/3 empty or that you brought two entrees when we clearly asked to share (even asking to be sure to bring an extra plate). Big thumbs down there. There is no dessert offered on the menu. However, after we asked if birthday girl could receive a tequilia shot that was done for her, and it was very generous. Thumbs up there. Overall menu: having a menu that is almost all shrimp and basically tastes the same (I know because we all shared bites of the food) and has no desserts, salads, or sides is kind of unattractive. Restaurant had two other tables with people actually in them. I give this location a month. I certainly cannot go back after spending double what I had planned to spend on an entree I didn't want (yes, both my friend and I who were supposed to be sharing had half of our individual plates left over). And that grease smell in the air, and minimal decor -- no, not when I can get better and cheaper seafood Mexican elsewhere in Hermosa (La Playita) or better and more expensive/upscale elsewhere in Hermosa, too (Palmilla). Who is going to return here to eat similar tasting dishes that are overpriced with no salads, sides (except very bland rice with a bit of corn sprinkled in), or vegtables? Not to mention the chips at the table. Heavy, oily, cold, and seemingly old. WHY? Guys, go to La Playita. Crisp, hot, light, not greasy, far better salsa, and ACCURATE SERVICE. Or go to Palmilla and have an actually crisp cold elegantly served beer for two dollars more with delicious fresh made flour tortillas and three salsa choices. Who is going to return HERE when you are misserved and the response is to say "I will bring you a box." The correct response is my mistake, no charge and I will bring you a box. Yes, I am annoyed with myself for not saying, huh uh, unacceptable. Had it not been a birthday, I definitely would have done so. I work hard for my money and I don't need to spend it on mistakes. The fish itself was bland, oily, uninteresting. Greasy green peppers and onions to top it which somehow even though they missed the part about us sharing that entree, they did get right the part of putting that stuff on the side, rendering it rather edible. 20% gratuity built in, btw. Terrible customer service!! Walked in with my family was not greeted, ok fine. Server walked past us two separate times and still not acknowledged. Then the two ladies proceeded to go behind the bar and talk. I then went over and asked if we seat ourselves? It was a bit awkward to just stand there in a small space and act as if we aren't there. I was then told no we may not sit down as they are "backed up" & if we sit down they won't be able to help us because they're too busy. The same mouth watering taste, ingredients, and menu you'd find at their original place but in my opinion this place blows it out of the water for its location over the others, the service was great/fast even during a typical busy weekend in Hermosa beach, and my favorite part was the addition of new and tasty cocktails. We decided to visit the new Hermosa location but unfortunately we were very disappointed with the service. We arrived well before the dinner rush, there were about 2-3 other parties at the time. I thought great it's not busy, we will have time to walk the pier afterwards but what I thought would of been a visit of no more than an hour and a half turned into an over 3 hour visit. Service was extremely slow and they forgot two of our plates. As my son and I are waiting and realize everyone else is nearly done with their dishes, we asked about the missing plates and the server said they are coming. A few minutes later a young lady visits our table and asks what else we ordered, clearly the dishes were never accounted for which is why we never received them. A few minutes later by this time everyone else is done, they bring out the 2 missing plates. By this time, it had already been 2 hours as I had to add more time to my parking, I'm glad I added 2 additional hours as my brother had to return a 2nd time and we were still at the restaurant. By the time they brought the 2 dishes, I was so upset I just wanted to leave and grab McDonalds or something quick, I had waited over 2 hours!!! I felt rushed as everyone was done and the dinner rush had already started. The food tasted great but unfortunately took way too long. We then waited even more, over 30 minutes to finally get our check. The food was great but I won't be visiting this location again. I was so disappointed with my experience last night at Coni's. I went to dinner with my dad and step mom and I wanted to support a new local business and was looking forward to some fresh delicious fish. I was sat down quickly as there weren't many people in there yet. Win! Sat down and was served chips and waters right away, win! Then it progressively went downhill. We placed an appetizer of ceviche which took nearly 35 minutes to receive. The ceviche was over seasoned and was honestly not what I was expecting from a restaurant with a Michelin label on the front of the menu. We order our entrees and not to my surprise,that took another more than 30 minutes to receive. I was really underwhelmed and unimpressed with the service and the quality of food. I just finished lunch at ConiSeafood in Hermosa, and I absolutely loved it! I can't say enough about the cerviche--it was a hit as an appetizer for everyone at my table. For my lunch, I got the tequila shrimp, and it had a nice kick if you're into spicy food. I've been to Coni's other location before, and I'm amazed that all the locations still have the same amazing flavors. I highly recommend it if you're looking for excellent seafood. Back in December I was visiting the area from OC and used the Valet service this restaurant was offering and it was an AWFUL experience. The guy not only charged us $40 but he ransacked my center console and STOLE my special needs son's handicap placard! How low of a human being can you be? I called the restaurant a few times to speak to anyone in charge and left multiple messages and was never called back. It was our second visit to this restaurant. The first time, we were turned away because they didn't have food available during their opening days. Wanting to support a local business, we decided to give it another try and went back on a Saturday for dinner. We waited several minutes for a table, even though there were multiple tables available--just not cleaned. During our hour and a half there, the tables on both sides of us remained dirty, full of used plates and glasses the entire time, which didn't create a good impression. It also took a long time for a server to approach us and even longer for our drinks to arrive. On the positive side, the food was good. We had the shrimp soup and the garlic shrimp, and both dishes were enjoyable. Our server was nice and provided detailed information about the dishes. However, the menu didn't list all the prices, and we were told the house margarita was $14 but were charged $16, which we had to ask to be corrected. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, and the overall experience was disappointing. We don't recommend this restaurant to our friends and don't plan to return. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to grab a late lunch over here. I've always heard good things about this restaurant so we decided to try their new location in Hermosa. It wasn't busy at all during these hours, only a few other tables were sat down but we were sat near the bar away from all the other parties which was kinda weird and we were sat down by the bartender? We weren't greeted by any host or any of the servers nor offered anything to drink. The servers passed by our table at least 4-5 times and didn't say a word to us while they handed 2 other tables their complimentary chips and salsa and they were sat down right after us too so at that point it just felt like we weren't welcomed there because our table was ignored for about 10-15 minutes. I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt because this is a new location but I can't because it wasn't even busy like that for our table to just be ignored. I don't know what the deal was with the service today because I see other reviews saying they had great service but we didn't receive any of that so we ended up leaving and decided to go to their original location in Inglewood and this location was way more busier than Hermosa and the service was way more better, completely night and day. The food was great at the Inglewood location and I'd go back to that location but I don't think I'll ever eat at this location because of how service went today. Sorry for the 1 star review because I really enjoyed the food at the original location but the front of the house needs some work. read more
