I love guisados! They are consistent across their locations with the flavor and quality of items they serve. My only complaint would be that the aguas frescas are a bit too sweet, but the food is a 10/10. The cochinita pibil is a popular item and I usually recommend the sampler for new customers. This location is also great because it had parking even though it is pretty close to the beach ambience and service was fast and quality

after enjoying the tacos the other day from a different location, we made the stop here a little closer to home. Never knew this location existed of all times we've passed by it. It's camouflage to the parking lot before the pier. Small parking lot and weird entry to it. The location wasn't as busy as the last so I was skeptical. We ordered pretty much the same thing, fish tacos and bistek en salsa Roja. They were good! I think we had a little more beans per taco and the tortillas were not as good. I mean still enjoyable. The customer service was great and the workers there were very attentive. We sat outside in the nice sun and overall I'd say it's still worth visiting.

I've enjoyed all the locations of Guisados that I've visited. They provide consistently fresh and yummy food, and of course their tacos are exceptional. They have several vegetarian options which is great for me! There is metered street parking and a pay lot nearby. Easily walk a few steps to enjoy the beach.

Spicy chick, and Steak with beans on tortilla. ~$11 Very good! Tastes quality, made in house, quick service, plenty of seating indoors. Highly recommend.

This place is wonderful and the tacos melt in your mouth. Everything was flavorful and greed inspiring, in a good way everything in moderation . The staff were helpful and patient. The restaurant is located at the entrance of the Hermosa Beach pier, so there's tons of metered parking. Just steps from the sandy Shores of the Pacific. This is a soo California.

This location is fun cause you are near the beach. Their food is absolutely delicious and always hits the spot. I always go for their Sampler and their ceviche tostada and Agua de melon it's not too sweet and refreshing. The Young girl at the front was very sweet and loved the vibe of the cooks I always like to see people who love their job. Their parking lot is very small maybe like 6 cars fit there but there is more parking across from the restaurant as well. In the mood for tacos with handmade tortillas and grab a cold beer come here!

I got the sampler and had a beer while I waited. All the tacos were really good. I loved being able try a bit of everything. Cute casual interior. Service was friendly but a little slow and felt a bit disorganized. Despite that I would definitely eat here again.

Arrived at the restaurant around 7:15. The person taking orders must have been having a bad day because she wasn't friendly or hospitable. Took our order and the delivered food made up for the bad service. Salsa verde taco, fish taco, mushroom taco plus quesadilla and cheese tamale. The masa on the tamale was heavenly. Soft, moist and delicious. Tacos were a little spicy but so very tasty. Noticed that staff were taking in napkins from patio before 8 so we thought they were closing. The hours posted on the door said 9 was closing. I'll give the place another chance because the food was so good.

I thought the tacos were fine. We're in LA so there's a taco spot every 15 feet lol. I've had better but these weren't awful. Came here bc I wanted to try the taco sampler and it was a fine enough experience. Of the 6 I would only need to eat 2 again (chicken mole poblano and pork cochinita pibil). The others were okay. I have no idea why anyone would ever order the chicharron. That was such an interesting texture I'd never need to eat again!! Haha But the staff was lovely, restaurant was very clean and they have a mini parking lot which is amazing for the area. Had a bite of my sisters shrimp taco and it was nice. Was sorely disappointed they don't sell chips. That's like selling burgers but no fries!! Overall not a place I'd seek out again but also wouldn't protest if someone wanted to go here.

We just loved this Hermosa Beach location of the very popular Guisados chain of taco-focused restaurants. They had a wide variety of tacos and tamales available and the servers were excellent at recommending which ones to try based on taste and spice level. The servers also brought out the food quickly. This place is the perfect compliment to a trip to Hermosa Beach, where beach culture reigns supreme. After a walk by the beach or some time in the ocean, these bites are exactly what I want. The restaurant has a small parking lot which quickly fills up when it's busy so you may want to be prepared to grab metered street parking in the area.

The taco sampler at Guidados is such a treat! Every bite is bursting with flavor, and the presentation is super cute. My top picks are definitely the mole and the tinga tacos--so tasty! And the melon agua fresca? Refreshing, light, and absolutely delicious. A must-try combo! ¡La selección de tacos de Guidados es una delicia! Cada bocado rebosa de sabor y la presentación es súper bonita. Mis favoritos son sin duda los tacos de mole y tinga: ¡riquísimos! ¿Y el agua fresca de melón? Refrescante, ligera y absolutamente deliciosa. ¡Una combinación que no te puedes perder!

An Open Letter to the Cashier Who Accidentally Became the Main Character of My Night Hi. Yes. You -- the cute cashier at Guisados. This is supposed to be a restaurant review, but destiny clearly had other plans because somehow YOU became the plot twist of my entire night. I think it was almost 9pm. I was circling the beach parking lots like a lost Victorian ghost, starving, stressed, and waiting for the ocean to fix my life. I had eaten nothing but a sad tuna sandwich that I'm convinced did more emotional harm than nutritional good. Then I saw your restaurant glowing in the night -- warm, golden, dramatic lighting like a spotlight saying: "This is your moment." So naturally, I BUSTED a U-turn so intense I'm amazed the universe didn't pause the scene and add slow-motion effects. I walk in. The steak aroma hits me like a cinematic slap. Juicy, rich, theatrical. Then I see you behind the counter with this calm, soft energy like you've tamed many hungry goblins before me. I tell you: "I have $11. I'm starving. I'm fragile. I need tacos before I faint." You didn't judge. You didn't flinch. You didn't call security. No. You asked if I wanted a drink and then casually delivered the line that may haunt me forever: "The horchata's on me." Sir. That is rom-com behavior. You can't just SAY things like that to someone on the brink. Then you applied your employee discount like some kind of culinary guardian angel, dropping my total to $7.92. I tip $2, because respect is respect. BUT THEN -- the universe, dramatic as always -- decides to sabotage the moment. My phone tap fails. The machine freezes. You ask if I have a physical card. So I sprint back to my car -- which currently looks like anxiety in vehicle form -- and start ripping through pockets, doors, seats, glove compartments, emotional wormholes. I find my wallet. NO card. I was just bout to start walking back, fully prepared to deliver the saddest apology of 2025 for wasting your time, stomach trembling, dignity hanging by a thread. And THIS is where you fully shifted the timeline: Before I even started walking back , YOU ran outside -- literally RAN -- holding the tacos and horchata like an offering from the heavens, saying: "Don't worry about it. Have a good night." Sir. You cannot chase a starving woman into a parking lot with free tacos and expect her to return to normal life afterwards. That's a core memory. That's a plot point. That is CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. I sat in my car under a streetlight and ate those tacos like I was in the final emotional montage of a drama film. They were perfect. You were unexpectedly charming. The whole night felt scripted. And here I am -- hours later -- writing a SECOND review because once wasn't enough to get this out of my system. Thank you. For the food. For the kindness. I will absolutely be back. With money. With friends. And with whatever composure I can gather before walking in again. Sincerely, A very dramatic, very grateful customer

Chicharron taco, carnitas en salsa verde, steak in salsa roja
    Lupita M.

Every time I go to Guisados is always a good experience. I've been going for years and tried this spot a couple of times. All their different locations taste the same, which I love. The tacos are just delicious, it's like trying the real traditional Mexican dishes in a freshly hand made tortilla. My fav are steak in salsa roja, chicharrón (it's spicy), cochinita pibil, carnitas en salsa verde. The horchata is also good even though it's on the sweet side, and there's an option for the cold brew horchata which is great! The service is always nice, and they're pet friendly at the patio which I love so you can go with your furry friends and can go to a walk at the beach afterwards!

I devoured the food so quickly, I forgot to take a picture

This is hands down my favorite place to bring out-of-town friends when I want them to experience legit birria tacos. It never disappoints. The vibe is welcoming from the moment you walk in--the staff are friendly and greet you right at the entrance, which always sets the tone for a great visit. Whether you're a first-timer or already a birria fan, this place is a must-try. Just be ready to crave it again the next day.

Before her food was ready, she received an emergency call and had to leave immediately. That's the reality of being a first responder--when a call comes in, you leave immediately, no time to wait for your meal. Before leaving, she politely asked the cashier to cancel the order and refund her card. Instead of showing understanding or offering assistance, the cashier was dismissive and unhelpful. After completing the call, my daughter contacted the restaurant, apologized for the inconvenience, and again requested a refund. She was initially told that the receipt had been thrown away. Later, the receipt was apparently found, but she was then informed that if she wanted a refund--or even the food she had paid for--she would have to return to the location in person. The problem is that she lives more than an hour away and was only in the area because she was working. I called the following day in an attempt to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I was met with the same attitude. The employee refused to provide her name, refused to provide a manager's name, and refused to provide any contact information for someone who could address the complaint. To be clear, this is not about the cost of a meal. Had the employee been courteous, professional, or even remotely helpful, we likely would have let the matter go. Emergencies happen. Schedules change. We understand that. What prompted this review was not the lost food or the refund itself--it was the employee's rude attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete unwillingness to help resolve a simple customer service issue. I will also acknowledge that by the end of my phone call, I became frustrated and was not as polite as I should have been. I regret that. However, that frustration came only after repeated attempts to handle the situation respectfully and being met with rudeness and resistance at every turn. A business can recover from a mistake. What it cannot afford is employees who treat customers with contempt and then refuse to provide any way to contact management when a legitimate concern is raised. Management should be aware that this employee's behavior reflects poorly on the entire business. If this is how customers are treated when they encounter an unexpected emergency, then potential customers deserve to know before choosing to spend their money here.

The tacos are nice and crispy and have a generous amount of cheese and meat. I'm sure they're good on their own, but I feel you can't enjoy birria tacos without lime, salsa, and a good dunking into the consome. The tacos came with an acidic green salsa and a red spicy salsa, both taste great. They also give you two slices of lemon, which is honestly enough for the tacos. I think the only way they could improve this plate is by adding a bit of extra cilantro and onion or radish on the side. Service was good. I was attended to quickly at the counter and had my tacos in like 5 mins. Given, I came while it was slow (12pm, weekday). The restaurant is small, but there's seating indoors and outdoors. Because it was on the fries, I expected the sauce would be on the fries, but it wasn't. It had guacamole and sour cream on it. Just seemed too much sauce already on it to add the birria sauce. The birria, without the sauce, wasn't bad but ... I think any other meat choice would've been better for this dish. The tortilla chips are fresh! Very good! The service was good. Just know it's a very small space, order at the register and pick up. Not on par with the surrounding restaurants. Thus, 3 stars. But they do have a few electrical outlets, a few outdoor tables, and the prices are good! It's very reasonable.
