Shrimp by You is tucked inside a plaza and gives a welcoming/ very clean ambiance. We were greeted by Mariana. Excellent service provided throughout. They have a wide selection of food from seafood, appetizers, Mexican, main entrees, and sides. We ordered clam chowder, 1 lb of shrimp medium sauce, garlic pasta, calamari, fish & chips, and lobster roll. All were tasty, but wish the shrimp had more Cajun flavoring to enhance it. Pretty good spot for family & friends!

Hidden Gem with Amazing Seafood Soup I came here with friends without expecting too much, but the food completely exceeded our expectations. The seafood soup was the highlight -- rich, refreshing, and full of depth with just the right touch of spice. It was so delicious that I asked about it, and learned that the chef has spent a lifetime in the restaurant business, which really shows in the flavor. Even the rice was cooked perfectly -- fluffy, shiny, and flavorful. We also ordered the seafood combo, which was well-balanced and tasty without being overly seasoned. On Tuesdays, they have Taco Day, where you can try six different kinds of tacos for only $2 each -- definitely makes me want to come back on a Tuesday to check it out! I'll definitely be coming back often with friends. The food was so delicious today -- thank you!

Best Michelada's in town!!! Beer I come here every Tuesday or Monday for Michelada Mondays so delicious

Best Michelada's in town and best taco Tuesday this place goes off!!!! I always come back every week!!! I crave their drinks and tacos and salsa is soo good!!! Very good jambalaya!

The good: We came after a trip to Goodwill across from them and got seated immediately because there was no one there. We got the ceviche, all 3 tacos, and half pound of shrimp with corn, sausage and potatoes with medium bang bang sauce, and a kids chicken tender meal. I got shrimp peeled because I had two kids with me and didn't have the time to eat too slowly. The waitress was excellent and friendly. I liked how they had paper table covers that you could draw on. They gave wet towelettes with the bill. There's a bucket for your waste. They have taco Tuesday specials. The chicken tenders were surprisingly the best dish I thought. They were freshly fried and reminded me of fish in fish and chips. The bad: The sauce wasn't as good as places like Boiling Crab but tasted healthier because it was thinner. It wasn't as thick and buttery as other Cajun boil spots. The ceviche was small for the price. The tacos were a little dry even though there was a hot sauce you could add. The interesting: They played Mexican music and the menu items included a lot of Mexican foods.

Been to this place a few times in the past and every time it never seems to amaze me on how good this place is . If you are in the Torrance area and looking for some crab boil style restaurants Shrimp By You is the place to go. First off they are so nice to you the min you walk in , to when you're seated , and to when you are eating . They are always checking up on you seeing how you're doing and always willing to assist even if they are busy . The staff here is awesome always making the experience worth coming back again Next, the food . The seafood was really good , I got some peeled shrimp with snow crab legs, mussels, sausage and potatoes with garlic lemon sauce yum at every bite and with a side of refreshing strawberry lemonade my husband got the same thing but without the mussels and with Cajun seasoning and he loved his too. Lastly the place is a really cute nice restaurant. Very friendly feeling and wasn't super busy when we came in today so it was easy for them to serve us. All and all I give this place 10/10 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks Shrimp By You for amazing food and awesome experience

FINALLY trying a seafood boil for the first time & Shrimp By You didn't disappoint. I've been missing out! Our group of 3 stopped by on a Monday afternoon-- totally empty and we were seated immediately. Located in a random strip mall next to Goodwill. For the boils, you select your protein(s), sauce(s), spice level, and add-ons. My bf was feeling ambitious and ordered 3 proteins in one for us to split LOL. Our orders took around 15 mins. SEAFOOD BOIL (shrimp, crawfish, clam; lemon garlic butter + mild spice + corn): The seafood flavor is amazing-- sweet, savory, and undoubtedly fresh. IMO the sauce is flavorful enough without added heat, but I'm biased towards being spice-adverse lol. The amount of actual protein after shelling is decent, adequately filling for two. I would definitely get rice with this next time to soak up more of their amazing sauce.

A wonderful experience. Taco Tuesday and happy hour are a hit, the fish tacos are the best ones. Pleasant service too.

Hubbers had this incessant taste for a lobster roll, so we did our diligent search for it. It was a bit of a challenge since the ones we did find are either too far or far too expensive. Then I stumbled on to this place. I'll be honest, we both agreed the overall pictures posted on its Yelp page didn't look very appealing, but for the purposes of him getting his fix, we decided to just GO. We got here within opening hour, so we were seated immediately. Hubbers and I already knew what we each wanted, and given we were the only customers at the time, we got to put in our orders immediately: calamari and a bowl of clam chowder to start and lobster roll for him and a pound of crawfish (with mild lemon garlic butter+cajun sauce) for me. We added a side of baguette bread because I knew I wanted to dip some of it in my cajun sauce! I love how our server timed the food delivery. First our drinks (we each had a pint of beer) and followed shortly with the calamari and Hubbers' bowl of clam chowder. Soon as we were done with both starters, our main courses were delivered. CALAMARI: Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Nice crisp on the outside and good chew on the inside. I didn't feel it needed the dash of lemon juice or the dip, but both certainly altered the flavor to a different kind of goodness. Recommending. CLAM CHOWDER: This was Hubbers' (I didn't want to have my own, I just really wanted a taste) and he didn't have an issue sharing. I had a couple of spoons' worth and liked it as well. The only thing I didn't like (which made me glad I didn't get one of my own) is the corn filler. (Not really a fan of corn, but that's on me, not on them.) Overall flavor was good - can be better - but the main essence is there. LOBSTER ROLL: Although it is Hubbers', like the clam chowder, he didn't mind me having a taste. I took a small bite, and it was pretty delish. It isn't the greatest, but it's above par. The buttered bread had decent toast on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The lobster meat was aplenty and seasoned well. A bit of lemon juice elevated the flavor a bit, but not necessary. Not sure what the dip is for other than for the fries, but we liked it as well. CRAWFISH: Huge pieces which I really REALLY liked. The sauce? Not so much. I didn't get a lot of garlic flavor (which made sense given I didn't see ANY fresh garlic in it) nor did I get enough butter flavoring. The cajun seasoning was strong, but other than that, I felt the sauce was a bit watered down. It needs work. The mudbugs, however, I enjoyed. BAGUETTE: Fresh out of the oven hot, it was a delight! Even on its own, it was good. Slight crisp on the outside and extra fluffy on the inside. I mixed some of the side butter it came with my cajun sauce and what a difference it made. That made it far better, and even more so when I dipped the bread into it. FOOD: 3.5. Good, but there's room for improvement. SERVICE: 4. Not a lot of interaction but our server was available when needed. VALUE: 3. As expected. PARKING: Shared with many other businesses. Not an issue especially on a weekday lunch. OVERALL: 3.5. They never got busy during our time there which left me in a bit of wonderment. However, we did have a better-than-average experience, so I can't speak as to why they aren't more popular. Hubbers got his lobster roll fix, I was satisfied overall, so good first run. Should he have that specific craving again, we would consider a return visit.

One shrimp for you, two for me. One for you, three for me. Michelada and Lagunitas.

Shrimp By You is back...with new owners and all the same wonderful food and fresh shellfish you've always loved. Just as the name says: Shrimp By You. You choose your shellfish, the sauce, and the heat level...then the magic happens in the kitchen and it's in the bag...literally. Your masterpiece is served in its boiling bag - simply empty the contents into the bowl and dig in. By you, for you, your way, who doesn't love that? I love that you can select your shellfish; sometimes I don't want to bother with crawfish and let's face it, snow crab is almost a waste of time - king crab, peeled shrimp, lobster tail - and if I'm feeling it I'll toss in smoked sausage and red taytoes too. I opt for all 3 sauces combined (black pepper sauce, lemon garlic butter and cajun) and double bang for me, my sinuses are appreciative. He prefers rice but I like a baguette to sop up the delicious juices. If boiling in a bag is wrong, I don't want to be right. And I haven't even touched on the chicken tenders! These are seriously delicious. Served freshly made, on a bed of crinkle fries perfectly seasoned and piping hot. I can't help but pop those fries into my mouth in seconds flat. And get all the dipping sauces to dip your tenders into, trust me, they're super yummy. The zombie apocalypse pandemic may have caused a glitch in the matrix - prices are higher folks, various reasons but if you're alarmed that the cost of food and labor have increased then you've been offline and it's time for you to reboot. Have you seen the price of gas and groceries lately? God bless the restaurants for getting us through it all, now let's support them even if it means forking over more from your wallet. And hey...get ready, breakfast will soon be served at SBY so there's another reason to stop by and enjoy a terrific meal! Loads of parking, sparkling clean restaurant and a menu that's buttoned up just swell. Friendly servers and Juan the owner is jetting around making sure guests have what they need. It's legit. Love you SBY, keep doing what you're doing because all of it is fantastic.

The Brussels are similar to expensive restaurant quality with a little balsamic vinaigrette and parm, but a really reasonable price. Crispy leaves, a little sweet a little oily but mmmm they were amazing. The clam chowder is perfectly creamy but not too thick. Needs a little salt but otherwise it's up there as one of my favorites. The string beans were just fine but I'd skip them. There had like a fried zucchini batter, well coated and crispy but eh not for me. My partner got the fried shrimp and fish and chips and they loved it. They couldn't get enough of the shrimp. The batter was really light but crispy. Nothing soggy or heavy. The fries are skinny but kinda battered, good. Everyone here is super nice and helpful and felt bad they were out of the fish but obvy not their fault. It was located on our way back from Palos Verdes to Long Beach, so stopped in to check it out. It is located in a small strip mall with limited parking, so my wife waited with the car running while I ran in. The first thing one notices is the deli selection of refrigerated ceviches. It is similar to what one can get at the deli section of a Mexican supermarket, including being able to order by the pound. One can get in/out quickly if one just orders what is available in the deli counter. There is also a decent size dining room, where one can order and eat the standard mariscos dishes that the area is well known for. They do accept credit card, and one pound of ceviche de pulpo and half pound of ceviche de camaron cost under $20. It came with 3 orders of tostadas, limes, and hot sauce (thinking half a pound is considered a serving so my order was meant for 3 people). It was packaged well for easy carry out. Brought it home, and it was delicious. The thing I most appreciated was the value: how much seafood was in the serving. Octopus has gotten really expensive, and the amount of meat they gave (vs mostly the vegetables and liquid that the Mexican supermarkets seem to give now) was very generous. This included the shrimp ceviche as well. Both used the lime vegetable ceviche mix that tastes pretty similar to others that I have had. It's always a pleasure to find a new place that serves your favorite dishes but with more value AND is close enough to stop-in without driving too far. I've lived close by for years and I gotta say, after coming to Quality Seafood twice (once in Nov…read more '25 and in March '26), I will definitely stop taking this South Bay gem for granted. I've only had the pleasure of having the following items below, but I'll be back in the coming years to try more. - Calamari [7.7/10]: regardless of what size you order, the portion is generous. This place doesn't overdue it with the batter and lets the flavor the fresh squid shine - which I adore. Only giving this dish its rating because there are a few Italian spots in Torrance that have my heart when it comes to the best calamari. - Fish Tacos [8.5/10]: Every bite gives a nice crunch of both batter and fish. I've had unpleasant experiences where I've had pockets of crispy batter, here the fish tacos are so great it actually doesn't need much support from lemon and/or tartar sauce. Be sure to order a couple of these bad boys during happy hour for $5 each. - Clam Chowder [8.3/10]: This place hits the mark on the texture of a classic chowder. Admittedly my cup could have used a touch of salt. I would have liked a bigger portion for what I paid for, but if you're in the mood for something hot to compliment your fried seafood - this is worth getting. This is also featured on the happy hour menu for $5 - Garlic Fries [10/10]: My favorite bite from this place so far. Not on the happy hour menu, but 100% worth getting and eating with your fish, shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. Perfect amount of seasoning and that white wet sauce on top is so so so addicting. The unsung hero of my most recent visit was Jose over at Station 20. In addition to taking my order, he single handedly called out orders for everyone by the dining the area during the end of happy hour rush. A whole wave of customers came in less than 10 mins I placed my order so I can only imagine how overwhelming things were on the service side of things. For my most recent visit, most of my order came in and my garlic fries came in last. I could tell there was a mix up in the kitchen, but Jose apologized and said a new order would be ready for me in less than 5. Definitely worth the delay/wait imo. Food is great. Seating is limited. Customer service is superb. But once you fish your food, you gotta take a long walk along the pier. It's a wonderful way to rejuvenate and make sure the quality seafood digests well. Can't wait to explore more of the menu, including the happy hour drinks.

I've been coming to Quality Seafood for the past couple of years, usually on Fridays for fish…read moretacos, and I've ordered the same fish taco and shrimp taco combination 40 to 50 times. It has generally been a place I've enjoyed and recommended, which is why this stood out. There's always been some normal inconsistency in portion. Some days the fish is bigger, some days smaller. Same with the shrimp, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. That never bothered me. It's part of a busy seafood counter, and I've never felt the need to say anything. What I got today was different. The fish taco was on the small side and dry, but the shrimp taco was the issue. It was served fried, very dark, and overcooked to the point the shrimp was tough. When I opened it after a few bites, I realized I was mostly eating tortilla and toppings. There were only about three shrimp total, which is noticeably less than what I've consistently received here before. In prior visits, I've also been asked whether I want my tacos grilled or fried, including the shrimp, and I've consistently chosen the lighter, non-fried option. What I received today was not that. I approached the counter politely and simply said the taco wasn't good, pointing out the quality and portion issue. I wasn't trying to make a scene and I'm not someone who returns food, especially over something this small. I was more pointing it out so it didn't keep happening. I was told nothing could be refunded because I had taken a few bites, so I asked to speak with a manager. That's where this went sideways. Instead of listening, the manager immediately dismissed it. She repeatedly told me that what I described was "not possible," insisted they have never prepared shrimp any differently in her 27 years there, and said they only ever serve three shrimp. As someone who has ordered this exact item many times, I was essentially being told that my own experience did not happen. The conversation ended with me being asked to leave. I've worked in and managed restaurants. Mistakes and inconsistencies happen. This was a simple situation that could have been handled in seconds, either by replacing the taco or offering a refund. Instead, it was denied outright and escalated. This wasn't about a $5 taco. It was about how it was handled. Being told that your repeated experience is "not possible" and then being asked to leave is not an acceptable way to handle a reasonable concern.
