A plate of one Baja Fish Taco and Two Baja Shrimp Tacos.
    Mattapoisett I.

One of my biggest problems with most Baja Style fish or shrimp tacos I've ever had is the batter for the fish/shrimp is too delicate. I realize the goal is for it to be tempura like. However, the fish/shrimp is immediately put in a tortilla and topped, which causes the steaming fried fish to sog up its crust, leaving the eater with something less than it could be. Diego's doesn't do that. They have a slightly thicker batter. Plus, they let the fish cool down a bit after it's been fried so that it does not create a sauna when it's put into a tortilla. So the fish and the shrimp stay very crispy. it's a simple thing. However, it makes a real hell of a difference. Also on the menu there are crunchy tacos, similar to the ones that you would find at Mariscos Jalisco. We had the one with octopus. It was excellent. It even came with a dipping consume that worked well with the taco. The folks there seemed to work hard at making really good food. So, don't expect a fish taco handed to you five seconds after you order it. It may take some time. However, it's worth it. One last note, the original address attached to this yelp listing had Diego's in Los Angeles and not Harbor City. When it calculated directions, it brought you to a gated community. If you do end up there, take a right out of the main driveway back onto Sepulveda, head a mile north and it will be on your right in the next strip mall.

Great service and good for a great price. The fish tacos were only $1.99 each, made fresh to order. The battered fish was fresh and crunchy, and the house made salsa they had was the cherry on top. Everything else is pretty expensive ($5 for shrimp tacos, $6 for fries, $5 for soda). I would only come back for their fish tacos.

Diego's Fish Tacos has been open for about 1 week now and we're happy to have them in our area! My husband checked them out last week and we came in together for dinner tonight. Staff was super friendly and food was prepared quickly. Everything was delicious and really hit the spot! The Tacos Presidente were well crafted, complex in flavor and so satisfying. I love the shrimp consommé includes a big shrimp inside! The pulpo taco was a little oily but I still really enjoyed it. High praises from my husband on his dishes. Good drink variety, including fountain drinks, bottled drinks and 4 aguas frescas. It's a spacious and clean restaurant with a very clean gender neutral bathroom too. I hope they do well and hope you'll check them out! Can't wait to try more things from their menu!

Got a Baja Fish Taco (pico de gallo on the side) and a Carne Asada Burrito (hold the rice). Everything was delicious. The fish was crispy and not greasy. When I got home, I added the pico de gallo and used the red salsa - really good. The Carne Asada was flavorful. The burrito uses black beans, which actually works. The Baja Fish Taco included crema, a mild red salsa and a container of sauce which I believe was birria. The burrito included a creamy orange sauce and the same mild red salsa. They also included in my bag a container of something that looked like chili oil. Service was very friendly and helpful. No issues on parking.

Bomb fish tacos! Soft and savory. The ambient is great. The staff is very helpful, willing to help you figure out what meets your craving.

    Fried fish tacos

Hi everyone! Me and my husband decided to check this place out for lunch today. Person who took our order was super friendly and helpful. (Next time i'll get her name.) We ended up getting 3 fish tacos and aguachiles. Food was amazing will definitely be back. I didn't take pictures of the aguachiles but the presentation was nice . Unfortunately we had to leave in a hurry due to an emergency but we told them we would be back. When we got back they kindly made my fish tacos fresh and packed up our meals to go. They could have just packed the tacos I had left on the table but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we still had fresh food. An experience we will never forgot and truly appreciate. Food was great customer service was great.

Before her food was ready, she received an emergency call and had to leave immediately. That's the reality of being a first responder--when a call comes in, you leave immediately, no time to wait for your meal. Before leaving, she politely asked the cashier to cancel the order and refund her card. Instead of showing understanding or offering assistance, the cashier was dismissive and unhelpful. After completing the call, my daughter contacted the restaurant, apologized for the inconvenience, and again requested a refund. She was initially told that the receipt had been thrown away. Later, the receipt was apparently found, but she was then informed that if she wanted a refund--or even the food she had paid for--she would have to return to the location in person. The problem is that she lives more than an hour away and was only in the area because she was working. I called the following day in an attempt to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I was met with the same attitude. The employee refused to provide her name, refused to provide a manager's name, and refused to provide any contact information for someone who could address the complaint. To be clear, this is not about the cost of a meal. Had the employee been courteous, professional, or even remotely helpful, we likely would have let the matter go. Emergencies happen. Schedules change. We understand that. What prompted this review was not the lost food or the refund itself--it was the employee's rude attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete unwillingness to help resolve a simple customer service issue. I will also acknowledge that by the end of my phone call, I became frustrated and was not as polite as I should have been. I regret that. However, that frustration came only after repeated attempts to handle the situation respectfully and being met with rudeness and resistance at every turn. A business can recover from a mistake. What it cannot afford is employees who treat customers with contempt and then refuse to provide any way to contact management when a legitimate concern is raised. Management should be aware that this employee's behavior reflects poorly on the entire business. If this is how customers are treated when they encounter an unexpected emergency, then potential customers deserve to know before choosing to spend their money here.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.
