Fried shrimp. It's better than their coconut shrimp IMO.

We stopped in for lunch today. Surprisingly we found the restaurant pretty empty around 12:30 pm. I was expecting a lunch crowd. Orders were taken at the kiosks. Cooks were visible behind the counter. My husband tried the lobster rolls and enjoyed them. I thought they were pricey, but changed my mind after taking a bite. They were pretty good. I had the swai with garlic butter sauce and white rice. A side of fried shrimp was just ok. I saw a sign with Taco Tuesday and will probably try it some other time. Lots of parking available in the shared lot with other restaurants.

Ordered tacos from California Fish Grill for takeout and we were kind of surprised how good they were! Ordered their battered fish tacos, mahi taco, and shrimp taco. Out of those choices, the battered fish taco was the best. The mahi was kind of small portioned and the shrimp taco was just okay. The downside to their tacos is the tortillas that they use. Very thick. But overall, placing an order and picking up the food was easy and the server was nice. Overall decent casual fast restaurant if you want seafood

Game in to pickup lunch. I wad greated by George he took my order at the kiosk they have two terminals and also a regular counter were you can order in person. The kiosk was pretty efficient especially when there was a line to order. I received my order pretty quickly ordering through the kiosk. George and the staff they give great customer service.

This locations needs to get it together. Placed an order online and it was supposed to be ready according the app. I still waiting about 20 minutes to get my food. Several people working but wasn't actually working. Kind of running back and forth. One employee seemed to not want to answer a question from another patron. Finally get my and went home at my Honey Shrimp bowl and it was really good. The problem didn't show up until the next day when my Sister decided to eat her food. She warmed it and said it smelled fishy. Well, I'm thinking it's might be the fact that it is California Fish Grill but my order was CITRUS HONEY CHICKEN. Well, said it doesn't look like chicken and she took a bite and it was SHRIMP. If I had only checked the order. That part is my fault however that wasn't what I ordered.

I've ordered from this restaurant a number of times through Door Dash. Yesterday, I decided to order and pick up the food at the actual restaurant. My first impression of this place was that it looked very trendy with its modern industrial decor. For some reason, I always pictured this place being a bare bones Mom and Pop operation. Turns out this is a chain restaurant. Not that there's anything wrong with that. This place has a couple of kiosks where you can order your food, but I wasn't given the opportunity to use it. There was an employee next to the kiosk who tapped on the kiosk for me. This was my one knock against this place. The employee rushed me through the order, tapping on the screen very fast. She didn't let me look at the menu carefully. Anyway, my order was ready relatively fast and it was predictably good. I always get the battered fish since it's crispy on the outside and steamy on the inside. The breaded shrimp here is very good as well. One thing I didn't know this place had were lobster rolls. I noticed it on signage while I was waiting for the food (no way I would have caught it on the kiosk menu screen with the speed at which the employee was tapping on the kiosk). I'm going to have to try that out the next time I visit this restaurant.

Classic FRIED FISH Battered Fish

Surprisingly the best bang for your buck would be to order the Classic Fried battered fish with fried shrimp with 2 sides! 13.50 is pretty reasonable. Clam chowder is a bit pricey at 7.99 despite small portion.

Grills were down, so no bowls available. Tacos were a good size, fully loaded, with tasty flakey fish. Kale slaw was odd and dry. I do not recommend the fries. Old and soggy. Ordering tablet kept glitching and sending me back to Home Screen or picking a random item the way a cracked phone screen does. Menu is hard to navigate since it doesn't list choice of sides only what you can upgrade to for extra charge. No AC on a very hot day, just a huge fan blowing across the dining area. Ives tea was very watered down. I tried both. Both very watered down.

Great food and excellent service! Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. A special thank you to Supervisor Evelyn for being so friendly, professional, and making sure my order was perfect. She made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back!

Clam Chowder

Hubby remembered eating lunch here and highly recommended it so we came for lunch today. There's a large menu board when you enter but it doesn't describe the item. Then there's only kiosks to order and luckily there's an employee to help order and answer questions. They have a good selection of bowls and I ordered the citrus shrimp bowl - lightly breaded with a sweet citrus sauce on a bed of rice that had green onions, cabbage, sesame seeds. It was delicious and had a generous portion of shrimp. Hubby had the clam chowder and liked it.

My plate was loaded, the kind of generous, no‑nonsense serving that tells you they cook with heart, not shortcuts. Every bite had that strictly authentic, home‑style flavor that reminded me of family, childhood mornings, and my grandma throwing down in the kitchen. The spot itself is super casual, eat in or take out, nothing fancy, nothing trying too hard. But honestly, the food and the service are the only "decor" this place needs. If you're craving something real, comforting, and made with love, this taqueria delivers. Miguel C.

We normally call ahead to order our food, and it'll take roughly 10 - 15 minutes. Service is always solid - the workers are friendly and helpful. We normally get the carne asada/pollo fries and they're awesome. Fries are cooked perfectly (I swear there was a period of time where they coated the fries and that wasn't it, but thankfully they stopped), comes with the usual toppings like guacamole, onions, cilantro, etc. They top it with a hefty amount of juicy meat - both carne asada and pollo options are solid. Recently though I've been straying from fries and getting different dishes like the chicken flautas, enchiladas, and mulitas. Chefs kiss for each one. The rice and beans + salsa combo are also flavorful and pair nicely with the entree.

If you're cruising through Gardena and craving a small, casual Mexican spot that actually hits,…read moreCocos Tacos is one of those neighborhood spots that reminds you why simple food done right always wins. The vibe is unfussy, the service is friendly in that "we got you, don't worry" way, and the food comes out fast enough to make your stomach feel seen. Man cause we were craving some Mexican food. The wet burrito was the star of my visit, big, saucy, and exactly the kind of comfort bomb you want from a spot like this. The red sauce had that perfect balance of savory and tangy, and the burrito itself was stuffed generously. Every bite was so good, so delicious! And the tacos.....Fire. The homemade tortillas make all the difference, soft, warm, and with that fresh‑masa aroma that tells you they didn't come from a plastic bag. No... no... no! They hold up beautifully to the fillings without falling apart, and they add this subtle sweetness that elevates everything. Chips and salsa were simple but solid. The chips had a good crunch, and the salsa tasted fresh, bright, and not overly blended, the kind you keep dipping into even when you tell yourself you're "saving room for the burrito." "Maybe we were just hungry..hungry huh?" The drinks were honestly refreshing as hell. True Mexican style if you're going to complete the meal....que no? The horchata was creamy without being heavy, with that cinnamon sweetness that makes you want to chug it.The agua de Jamaica was tart, floral, and ice‑cold, the kind of drink that instantly cools you down on a hot Gardena afternoon. Cocos Tacos is exactly what a neighborhood Mexican spot should be, casual, comforting, and consistent. If you're in Gardena and want homemade tortillas, a saucy wet burrito, and drinks that actually refresh you, this place deserves a stop.
