    Thai Beef salad
    Steve R.

My first time here a had a very enjoyable dinner with my wife. We had the Thai fried rice with shrimp, Fresh ginger chicken, and the Thai beef salad. All three dishes were good and we got the medium spice level since anything more than that would probably be too much. For dessert we had the mango with sticky rice and that was fantastic l had never had it but would definitely order it again. The staff were all helpful, friendly and quick. Parking is limited. Would definitely try again

    Pad Thai Lunch Special

One of the few good Thai spots in the South Bay, I love all of their food. The lunch special for 12.95 is a steal of a deal from Mondays to Fridays 11AM - 2PM. The cashiers are super nice and they are very chatty. Their portions are very generous and the place is very clean. I can't believe they run the place with only one or two servers at a time. There is plenty of parking outside and the vibe is super cozy. I love this place and will definitely come back if I have the chance. Personally I love their yellow curry, it's available not spicy which is very rare for this kind of dish and it doesn't completely ruin the flavour at all.

Thai fried nice ?!??? OH YEAH VERY NICE

Order : Thai fried rice , pad Thai, yellow chicken curry, chicken satay. Level of amazing ? scale 1-10 : The scale was broken. This was more than enough to feed the three of us , every dish was still nice and hot when we received it (extra thank you for that ) , which means , it didn't sit for a long time. Now , the flavors were on point, I especially loved drenching my second plate in yellow curry. I highly recommend drenching your second or third plate in curry. I say , drench the worlds in yellow curry!!! Anyways, don't drench your first plate in their yellow curry. You want to enjoy all the flavors. Any plate after the first is green light for drenching. YOURE WELCOME ! Definitely our new go to Thai delivery thank you so much

I tried this place under the new management but definitely you can feel the enthusiasm and passion that staff there has for their food. The Tom Kha is one of my favorite dishes and I feel like this place does a great job with bringing out the right amount of tartness and sweetness in the broth. Also, they have decent prices for the amount of food you get so will definitely be back when I have a Thai food craving. Inside there are tables for the main restaurant and there's a covered patio type of seating. The few times I went have been on a weekday but there doesn't seem to be a problem to get a table. Parking lot is kinda small so if it does get filled you might need to find street parking.

What was ordered: 1) Pineapple fried rice 2) Papaya salad 3) Pad see ew The pineapple fried rice had huge chunks of pineapple. Obviously, pineapple fried rice was going to have pineapple in it, but the ratio was off. Maybe if they were in smaller chunks, it would have tasted better but the jumbo pineapple bites were taking over the dish. Papaya salad was not my favorite. I was expecting it to be better than it was ... but it just wasn't for me. I love pad see ew, but this one I did not really care for... they add carrots which I've never had in pad see ew and it was just ok. Service was great. There is a parking lot and it's easy to find.

They recently had an owner change past July 2024 We really enjoyed the previous owner and food... usually with owner changes, the prices go up and the food quality goes down. So we were skeptical of trying it out after their change. To our surprise we really enjoyed our meal. Ordered : - Tom kha chicken large (comes out in a hotpot style so it stays hot) - padseeew : medium spicy w chicken - drunken noodles with beef - fried rice - papaya salad - mango sticky rice Our family thoroughly enjoyed the meal and glad to know we can still keep coming here despite their changes

The food and staff are amazing. We will definitely be returning. The iced coffee and tea are outta this world. My wife and i enjoyed ourselves and the food so much here.

Pad See Ew & Chow Mein

had such a great experience at this Thai restaurant! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight for me was definitely the Pad See Ew -- perfectly chewy noodles, just the right balance of sweet and savory, and packed with flavor. I also loved their Thai Tea -- rich, creamy, and not too sweet. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes! (:

First time visiting and arrived less than 1 hour before closing on a week night. Not busy at all. Plenty of tables. Was greeted and seated very promptly. The server is one of the owners and is very friendly. When asked what is popular here, she kindly went through each section of the menu and highlighted each dish so well. There's extra pepper condiments on the side. And I like that they automatically give share plates and bowls. Spice levels: mild, medium, hot, and Thai spicy. Tried mild and medium; they are true to their spice ratings. Food: -Pad kee mao with beef aka drunken noodles: Soo good. Has a nice smoky flavor from the wok. Crunchy and fresh tasting vegetables. Everything flavored so well. Not too oily. Highly recommend. -Yellow curry with rice: Good overall, but not to my personal preference. I prefer the curry sauce a little thicker. It's also a little sweeter than I prefer. My friend really liked this. To each their own. -Mango sticky rice: The presentation is so cute. The way the mango is sliced up makes it a lot easier to eat and share. The rice is on the "stickier" side. I do prefer the rice a little softer, but that's me being picky. It's still very tasty. Parking: Small parking lot behind building and street parking

Food was amazing and service was great. There was no wait when I arrived and it's in a plaza with enough parking if you plan on going for dinner on a weekday. The restaurant is a little small but still a warm comfy environment. I ordered the Pad Thai, fried rice, and soup. I recommend the Pad Thai because it tastes legit and I like how they added the stringy carrots on top along with other ingredients that added a nice touch to an already great dish. The rest of the dishes I ordered were ok. It was the perfect dinner on a cold chilly day.

Had a wonderful night here! Super friendly staff and great food. Highly recommend the tom kha soup, it was creamy and flavorful and the mango sticky rice was perfect - right amount of stickiness with the rice and sweetness balance with the mango. There was a cute patio for outdoor seating. Reasonably priced as well, it seems like a cute neighborhood gem

The house poke salad was fresh and flavorful, the pan-fried pork gyoza had a crispy exterior with a juicy filling, and the grilled jumbo scallop and shrimp skewers were cooked perfectly. The Wagyu ribeye yakitori was incredibly tender and full of smoky flavor. We also enjoyed the Lychee Mocktail and the 5 Sake Flight, which was a fun way to sample different styles of Japanese sake. After that, we headed inside for the hot pot experience. We tried four broths--Kombu, Tonkotsu, Spicy Miso, and Sukiyaki--and each one brought something different to the table. My favorite was the rich Tonkotsu, while the Kombu was perfect for letting the quality of the ingredients shine. For the meats, we ordered the Royal Beef Experience with ribeye, chuck roll, and beef belly, along with the Royal Seafood Set featuring shrimp, Atlantic salmon, fresh scallops, fish balls, and the chef's curated seafood selection. Everything was fresh and high quality. The standout of the night was the Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu. The marbling was incredible, and after just a few seconds in the broth, it practically melted in my mouth. It was easily one of the best Wagyu experiences I've had. To finish the meal, we shared the matcha cheesecake and matcha ice cream, which were the perfect ending. The service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was welcoming from start to finish. I also love that they offer both an outdoor patio with a full bar menu and a premium hot pot experience inside, making it a great spot whether you're looking for drinks and appetizers or a full dinner. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend King Plus Shabu Shabu if you're looking for quality Japanese food and premium hot pot in the South Bay.

Somehow, after all that time, the version I've become most attached to is the one I was initially least interested in trying. The shabu shabu. I have an almost irrational distrust of the words all you can eat. Too often it means somebody with a spreadsheet figured out exactly how thin the beef needs to be before the economics work. More food, less quality, clever tiers and by the end you've eaten twice what you wanted and enjoyed half of it. Shin-Sen-Gumi completely surprised me. My wife and I now come here almost every week, usually for lunch and the lunch sets are fantastic. The Kobe style beef is tender without disappearing the second it touches the broth. It still has texture, flavor and enough substance to feel like you're actually eating good beef. The beef belly looks almost comically fatty when it arrives, then somehow cooks into something rich and satisfying without becoming greasy. The A5 wagyu is even better. A5 can sometimes become three bites of expensive butter, but this has enough bite and structure to keep it interesting. The thickness of the slices is right, which matters more in shabu shabu than people realize. The supporting cast is equally strong. Huge shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, good ponzu, sesame sauce, raw egg for sukiyaki and genuinely excellent hot drops. My only real complaint is that the non AYCE lunch sets could use a more generous vegetable portion. I'd happily take more napa, mushrooms and noodles alongside the meat. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the service. The staff here are genuinely thoughtful. Attentive without hovering, warm without turning hospitality into a performance. We've gotten to know a few of the servers simply because we come so often and that familiarity makes the place feel even better. The restaurant itself is straightforward, clean and organized. Lunch can sometimes be surprisingly empty, which I honestly consider a gift. You sit down, the broth starts bubbling, the meat arrives, everything you need is within reach and for an hour life becomes considerably simpler. I never expected to rediscover a restaurant I'd known for so long and become more attached to it now than I ever was before. Sometimes a place just gets the fundamentals right often enough that you stop evaluating it and start developing a habit. Shin-Sen-Gumi has become that place for us.

Definitely recommend making a reservation because it can get busy and you'll save yourself the wait. We usually prefer sitting at the bar instead of a table--it's just our favorite vibe. If you love spicy food, definitely ask the staff for the "hot drop" . I'd recommend starting with 1 drop before going up to 2. Two is my limit, but even that really kicks it up a notch.
