The food here is so good!! I love going to the theater here and I had passed by this restaurant so I wanted to try it since I love dumplings. 10000000/10 ! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings, xiao long bao, beef chow mein and chicken fried rice and it was all so good. The portions are big too I had plenty to take home for leftovers, which I am excited to eat later. My friend had ordered the house fruit tea drink and I gave it a try, really good drink. Very refreshing. Definitely will come back more often. Amazing service and the restaurant has such a peaceful/cozy vibe to it.

Very fresh and good tasting Chinese food. The dishes are all made to order. The chef worked at a restaurant in Hong Kong and opened his own place here. It's a cozy place in the PV mall near the Good Stuff.

Green Scallion Pancake. Light and tasty.

Our usual not-so-usual go-to for Chinese in the South Bay had been Seashore at Calle Mayor and PCH but I remembered the food being somewhat bland on the last visit several months back. We have also enjoyed Lunasia (for Dim Sum) and Ruiji farther east on PCH but it has been a long time (at least for Ruiji) and the reviews and pictures for Lotus looked really good. I also liked the All-Day Happy Hour! $3 house wines, beer and hot sake as well as the complimentary (and delicious) garlic noodles with $50 purchase ($11.95 value). We ordered the Crispy Crabmeat Cream Cheese Wontons ($10), Spicy Orange Crispy Chicken ($21.95), Kung Pao Chicken ($21.95), Sweet and Sour Pork ($20.95), Beef with Broccoli ($20.95), Mongolian Beef ($21.95) and Crispy Honey Shrimp ($25.95). Yeah, the prices, I know, but again the All-Day Happy Hour and the free noods! The food was a hit...everything was great, fresh ingredients, packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken wasn't spicy so don't worry if that's not your jam...the Mongolian Beef was probably my favorite and the crispy honey shrimp was lightly fried "to perfection". I hate that phrase but it is appropriate here, truly. Service was excellent. The food came out very quickly and our server was fantastic. It was my 87 year old Mom's birthday and they brought out a cheesecake and candle for her too. We did have tons of left-overs so it will go a longer way which helps with the cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND; they've definitely earned the top Chinese spot for me.

However, it was worth it! We had the Special Hong Kong Garlic Lobster, Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Garlic Noodles, and Hot and Sour Soup. The service was fast and friendly. The food was uniformly great. The soup was excellent as was the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. The Fried Rice was good, although I wish they had BBQ Pork Fried Rice, but that is not to be. In short, I upped my rating and we'll be back in less than 2 years.

Recently stopped by here about a year after trying it for the first time…read more I have to say, Pasta Stories really stepped up their game in terms of serving time! The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. I remember I was a little put off by the anime branding of the restaurant at first (it seemed a little childish to me) but Pasta Stories is really a solid wafu pasta place, and I love that they focus on different regional flavors of Japan. Prices are very affordable as well, with most pastas being around $15 and under.

For a cost friendly meal, the expectation in quality generally tends to be low but Pasta Stories is…read morethe exception. With meals ranging from $10-$17, there is something for everyone. I personally have tried the following: Hokkaido Cream Pasta (newest addition as of late) Fukuoka Mentaiko Butter Pasta Kyoto Matcha Cream Pasta (one of my favorite dishes here - pair with salmon for a strong, umami flavor profile) Iwate Triple Mushroom Pasta Okinawa Pork Ragu Spaghetti (THE number 1 pick, however was not on the menu when I visited last) Osaka American Wagyu Meat Sauce There is a strong attention to Japanese flavors fusing with traditional Italian pasta dishes and are all made with love and care. I always recommend this place to friends and family, I can't get enough of it!

I went for lunch on a Saturday. The food was outstanding. For some reason Yelp isn't loading my…read morepicture. I got the spicy beef soup. Ordinarily, I don't care for the texture of shredded beef, but that's not on them, and the food was terrific. The banchan were plentiful and tasty; the cabbage kimchi was a standout. So why only 3 stars? From the beginning, the waiter, an older gentleman, was unsmiling. That's ok. I don't need him to smile or be friendly. I just need him to be a good waiter. But he wasn't -- at least not to me. He didn't check back on me even once. Never asked if I needed water, more banchan, another beer, never even glanced at me. He passed me multiple times, however, to dote on the other 3 tables that were occupied while I was there. I was the only one he completely ignored. There are three possible explanations that I could come up with, since when I spoke to him he assured me I had not offended him in some way. The first explanation, although unacceptable, isn't sinister. The other two are problematic. 1. I was the only one sitting by myself, and he thought he'd get a bigger tip at the other tables. It's not an ok thing to do: ignoring solo diners. But it happens, and I know everyone's got to make a living. This is the *most* benign explanation I can come up with. Or . . . 2. I was the only non-Asian in the place. 3. I was the only person with a visible disability in the place. I gave the waiter a chance. I calmly and quietly asked him to explain why he had ignored me completely and served the other tables to my exclusion. His answer: "I didn't want to disturb you." No, I didn't buy that either, and I told him so. I'm not quick to jump to conclusions like #2 or #3, but it's not looking good at this point for Kim's BBQ. I have friends who live and eat in PV, and God help this restaurant if I ever conclude that either of those is the reason for my treatment today. If I ever conclude that, I will not let it go. Clean it up, Kim's BBQ. There's eyes on you.

Food-wise, it was just-okay: the garlic noodles and sushi rolls were very average, and they were overly expensive for the quality you get. Watercress salad was fresh and tasty, though. Enjoyed the whisky miso bread pudding and chocolate cake for dessert, and I appreciated the "Happy Anniversary" sign added to our dessert as newlyweds! Overall, bashi is just-okay in terms of food, but for the views and dessert, it's not too bad.

Definitely request an outdoor seating arrangement if you can, especially on a clear beautiful day. The views are absolutely stunning. They have umbrellas, so you don't have to worry about sitting in the sun. The food is awesome! I love the Watercress salad, miso soup, and their sushi rolls! I got the roll that had the ume in it and it was really delicious. We ended up getting the Ube cheesecake and the Meyer lemon one. The Ube cheesecake was my favorite for sure! Parking can be tricky if it's a popular time. We ended up having to valet because there were no spots in the free parking area. If you do end up getting vallet, they can validate it so that you only have to pay 15 or $20 for parking. They are kid friendly, and they will give your kiddos some crayons and coloring sheet menus, which is great! It was such an enjoyable experience! Service is so incredible as soon as you walk in to the moment you leave. We are definitely going to be regulars here!

We asked for not spicy and there was only a hint of white pepper. The only negative was the presentation. It is served in a large paper cone. That's fine if you're eating and walking with it. But at a table, the cone was so tall that you have to stand up to see the chicken inside. And you have to rotate the cone if you're sharing since one side of the cone is taller than the other. The stinky tofu was serviceable but it could have been stinkier. The beef noodle soup was okay. The beef was very tender and the soup was good. But it's not as flavorful as the ones at Sue's Kitchen up the street. The only miss for me was the Dan Dan noodles. I was warned it was spicy but it was a bit spicier than I anticipated. That's ok but the sauce had a weird sour taste to it that was kind of off putting. The service is very attentive. I wish they served boba drinks. Overall we will definitely be back. I can't wait until they open their new branch up in Palos Verdes later this year.
