    Beef and string beans

It's nice to have a Chinese restaurant back in the hill since the closure of Fu Yuan Low It appears to be a family run place, which I love. Everyone was super friendly when we were there. The food itself was very good. Fresh ingredients and good flavoring It's a long narrow restaurant, where you order at the counter and they bring out the food Warning : It's not inexpensive. No lunch specials. It is sort of a weird vibe : The plates are paper, the utensils a plastic. I'm still trying to process it but, overall, very happy

Asian Bites at the Promenade PV is a great little hidden gem for quick, Chinese food. It's located inside the shopping center next to Misc Coffee. There is plenty of easy parking in the mall's parking structure. The ambiance is very simple and casual - there are only about 4 seats, so it's definitely more of a takeout spot, but we were able to grab a table and eat there. Despite the small space, it felt welcoming and efficient. The service was excellent - fast, attentive, and friendly. Our server made sure everything came out quickly, and the food arrived in no time. The cook (who seemed like the owner) was incredibly impressive - she was cooking at lightning speed. Honestly, it was amazing... I wish I could cook that fast! We ordered the Chicken Chow Fun, Shrimp with Broccoli, Hot & Sour Soup, and Sautéed String Beans with Beef. Everything was good, with the standout being the shrimp with broccoli - the sauce was rich and flavorful. The chow fun was also well done, with perfectly cooked noodles. The hot & sour soup also had good flavor and was a good portion (that we were able to split it with two people). The string beans with beef were tasty too, though I think it could've used a bit more garlic or seasoning compared to the shrimp dish. They also have a self-serve drink station, which is a nice, convenient touch. What really stood out was the hospitality - when we asked for a bag, the cook/owner came out herself to help pack our food, which was such a kind gesture. Overall, great food, amazing service, and a hardworking team behind it all. We'll definitely be back - especially to try the dumplings next time!

I visited during their soft opening. It's a small casual dining atmosphere with four booths. You order and pay at the counter, they hand you a pager, and your food is delivered to your table. There are the usual condiments at each table. Ie, Soy sauce, sriracha. The interior of the restaurant was clean. I ordered a cup of Hot & sour soup; Vegetarian potstickers; Chicken & corn dumplings; and Chicken chow fun. All the food tasted great. The hot & sour soup is listed as spicy and it was as advertised. The potstickers and dumplings come eight to an order. I enjoy eating authentic Chinese food. Service was friendly and efficient. As I was eating, I was already planning on being a repeat customer. I took a copy of their menu so I can see what other items I will be ordering in the future. Parking: Free, covered mall parking.

The food here is so good!! I love going to the theater here and I had passed by this restaurant so I wanted to try it since I love dumplings. 10000000/10 ! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings, xiao long bao, beef chow mein and chicken fried rice and it was all so good. The portions are big too I had plenty to take home for leftovers, which I am excited to eat later. My friend had ordered the house fruit tea drink and I gave it a try, really good drink. Very refreshing. Definitely will come back more often. Amazing service and the restaurant has such a peaceful/cozy vibe to it.

Very fresh and good tasting Chinese food. The dishes are all made to order. The chef worked at a restaurant in Hong Kong and opened his own place here. It's a cozy place in the PV mall near the Good Stuff.

Green Scallion Pancake. Light and tasty.

Recently stopped by here about a year after trying it for the first time…read more I have to say, Pasta Stories really stepped up their game in terms of serving time! The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. I remember I was a little put off by the anime branding of the restaurant at first (it seemed a little childish to me) but Pasta Stories is really a solid wafu pasta place, and I love that they focus on different regional flavors of Japan. Prices are very affordable as well, with most pastas being around $15 and under.

For a cost friendly meal, the expectation in quality generally tends to be low but Pasta Stories is…read morethe exception. With meals ranging from $10-$17, there is something for everyone. I personally have tried the following: Hokkaido Cream Pasta (newest addition as of late) Fukuoka Mentaiko Butter Pasta Kyoto Matcha Cream Pasta (one of my favorite dishes here - pair with salmon for a strong, umami flavor profile) Iwate Triple Mushroom Pasta Okinawa Pork Ragu Spaghetti (THE number 1 pick, however was not on the menu when I visited last) Osaka American Wagyu Meat Sauce There is a strong attention to Japanese flavors fusing with traditional Italian pasta dishes and are all made with love and care. I always recommend this place to friends and family, I can't get enough of it!

Ordinarily, I don't care for the texture of shredded beef, but that's not on them, and the food was terrific. The banchan were plentiful and tasty; the cabbage kimchi was a standout. So why only 3 stars? From the beginning, the waiter, an older gentleman, was unsmiling. That's ok. I don't need him to smile or be friendly. I just need him to be a good waiter. But he wasn't -- at least not to me. He didn't check back on me even once. Never asked if I needed water, more banchan, another beer, never even glanced at me. He passed me multiple times, however, to dote on the other 3 tables that were occupied while I was there. I was the only one he completely ignored. There are three possible explanations that I could come up with, since when I spoke to him he assured me I had not offended him in some way. The first explanation, although unacceptable, isn't sinister. The other two are problematic. 1. I was the only one sitting by myself, and he thought he'd get a bigger tip at the other tables. It's not an ok thing to do: ignoring solo diners. But it happens, and I know everyone's got to make a living. This is the *most* benign explanation I can come up with. Or . . . 2. I was the only non-Asian in the place. 3. I was the only person with a visible disability in the place. I gave the waiter a chance. I calmly and quietly asked him to explain why he had ignored me completely and served the other tables to my exclusion. His answer: "I didn't want to disturb you." No, I didn't buy that either, and I told him so. I'm not quick to jump to conclusions like #2 or #3, but it's not looking good at this point for Kim's BBQ. I have friends who live and eat in PV, and God help this restaurant if I ever conclude that either of those is the reason for my treatment today. If I ever conclude that, I will not let it go. Clean it up, Kim's BBQ. There's eyes on you.

The pickled daikon and carrots also cut through the richness of the meat. We also got the spicy Cajun bag, which had a good amount of seafood and was easily splittable between two people. The seafood tasted fresh, and the sauce was very flavorful! The Thai tea was also creamy and refreshing, perfect for fighting the heat of the seafood. There is no bathroom, but the staff was also super nice and let us wash our hands in the sink behind the register. The spot is pretty small, with a few tables inside. One downside is that they don't have a public restroom, so there's nowhere to wash your hands after digging into seafood. Be sure to bring your own hand sanitizer or wet wipes because you'll definitely want them! We ordered a pound of shrimp with snow crab and added corn and potatoes. We chose the mild seasoning, and while it still had a little kick for me, that's probably because I don't normally eat spicy food. The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. We also ordered the whole lobster, which ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. It was stir-fried with onions and green onions, served with a side of white rice, and absolutely delicious. One surprise was finding shrimps inside the lobster dish as well. We also shared the hearty seafood chowder and a beef skewer. We came hungry and managed to finish almost everything, with only some shrimps left in the seafood boil bag. A&J it's a great spot if you're craving fresh seafood. They do provide disposable gloves, but I'd still recommend bringing your own wipes since there's no sink available. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.
