She shared the gyoza which was crispy on the outside and flavorful inside. One friend ordered the yakisoba and I tasted it which was very good, I will order it next time. My other friend ordered the mabo tofu which I also had a chance to taste and I could easily understand why my friend says this dish is her comfort food. I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen and it was so good! I took half home to share with my husband. There are so many other dishes I want to try next time! Free parking on the lot. We frequented the place quite often when kids were younger and obsessed with their fried rice. Since then, the older gentleman who owned the establishment has retired and it changed hands many times. Today we decided to revisit the restaurant for old time's sake. Inside, the main wall was repainted with a new mural. The annual LA Marathon posters, pinned by the staff who participated in the events, were also gone. Nonetheless, it retained its traditional izakaya décor with its counter seating alongside some regular tables. The staff were all new but still very courteous and brought the menu and water right away. New items were added but the core dishes remained the same. For this visit, we ordered our regular items and they arrived in 10 minutes: Eboshi Mini Trio with Shio Ramen, Fried Rice and Gyoza: The fried rice was still top notch, with slightly firm texture, not too oily, and pleasantly seasoned. The Shio Ramen with its clear broth was nicely savory. The thin noodles were cooked perfectly, and the chashu pieces were tender. To complement the set, the gyozas with their delicate wraps had nicely burnt bottoms, and flavorful fillings. Champon Ramen: A complex ramen with an assortment of meat, veggies and seafood. There were sliced pork pieces, shrimps, squids, cabbage, onions, snow peas and many more. The clear broth was quite savory and enriched by oil from sauteed ingredients. The noodles had a very nice texture and were a tad al dente. We were amazed that after all these years, the restaurant retained its original taste and flavor. We found out the reason why while exiting the restaurant: The young cook from two decades ago is now running the open kitchen as head chef. Great food and still reasonable prices. This place has it all. First off, service was spectacular. Every guest that came in was greeted right away. We were craving ramen this particular day. It came out FAST. The flavors were all there and the portion was good. My only gripe was that the noodles weren't fully fresh. But a place that has it all on the menu can't exactly give that to you. If you want it fresh fresh, you'd need to go to a ramen only spot like hiro nori. Anyhow, we came with kids. And upon sitting down, they immediately brought two kids bowls, spoons and forks. Thank you for being thoughtful! This is a small space but it was honestly really cozy. They did a great job with everything. Although you could see all the cleaning materials out in the open in the bathroom (like most Asian places) their bathroom was very clean. I really appreciated this. Second time here and the food was consistent. Loved how simple the ramen is and the pork that's in it isn't fatty. The noodles are perfectly al dente and there's good pricing on the combos. Came on a rainy saturday night! At the corner of lomita and pennsylvania ave tucked in a plaza across from the arco gas station is this busy little ramen spot. There is parking. Considering the storm that was happening this spot was still packed! It was just the 2 of us so we sat at the counter top Service was great and prompt. They have a huge selection to choose from this place has a variety of "small plates" to ramens to fried noodle dishes and even rice dishes. I was amazed by their small plate/appetizer selection and felt kinda of lame choosing the typical gyoza lol i will definitely try other dishes next time. But the gyoza was great! Came steamed with a little grilled action I ordered their Negi Miso ramen Stir fried green onion and chashu pork miso ramen. And my friend ordered the Eboshi vegan ramen House special veggie broth miso flavor with spinach noodles and assorted veggies. Also ordered a sprite and the bill only came out to about $46! This restaurant has been my go to place when I'm in South Bay for many years. However, when I came back after Covid, it was terrible. I tried twice during 2022-2023. It was bad both times. Both my children love Ramen of any kind couldn't even finish one third of their bowl. Here I am now in January 2025. They are back! I came few times last year as well. All good and stable. The reason why I'm leaving the comment about my negative experiences in the past is because I'm sure there are some of you experienced the same. Hi Kyoko San, I think you have a bigger problem now. Whoever told you he called our party and we weren't there is a LIAR! We have been waiting at the waiting area the whole time. I offered my seat at the waiting area to the party of four, one of them was holding a baby. It turned out they were seated less than 2 min after they arrived. I questioned the Hispanic host when he escorted the party of four to their table "why you seat them first?" If I wasn't there I won't be able to do that. Everyone at the restaurant could hear me. Or you could verify my review if you have cctv installed at the restaurant. This happened in Sunday night around 7pm, it was cold and windy, and no much to see in that plaza at that time and we have been living in Torrance for more than 20 years. My partner and I have been coming here for years and the food has always been (and still is) good. However, during our last visit, we were asked to take a smaller table to leave the bigger ones for larger groups. We've never had that request but obliged and sat at the counter (I did not want to sit at the tiny table smack dab in the middle of the dining area). It was not a big issue until we noticed a couple already seated in the area with larger tables then a couple just entering was also seated there. When I mentioned that to the server (maybe owner or manager?) he told us we could move. By that time I wasn't interested. We ate our ramen then left but don't plan on returning. Will I miss Eboshi? Their portion is indeed huge! Although if you really enjoy bone broth/tonkatsu ramen, they don't have that which we were kind of bummed Their crab fried rice was probably the best dish we ordered. It's not only huge but delicious as well. Their miso ramen combo with karage chicken was not ok. The chicken lacks flavor. But I loved the noodles in this ramen, it was perfectly cooked - al Dente One of their ramens (forgot the name) had way too many onions in it. We were hungry so we didn't mind the flavor but it was definitely not one of our favorite. It was 2p-ish and they were still very busy with very little staff so just be patient. read more

The recipe calls for a lot of cornstarch, so it was like a sweet pork flavored rice with some tofu. If you're in the area, this place should be at the top of your list for Japanese. I ordered a little bit of everything and it was fantastic. Authentic food, excellent service and reasonable prices! The Eboshi Mini Trio is the way to go. It includes an Eboshi shoyu or shio ramen (get the shoyu - its rich without being salty), fried rice, and a choice of gyoza (3 pieces) or Japanese fried chicken. The portions were perfect on the trio. I enjoyed sampling the different items without stuffing myself. The ramen was full of brothy flavor and the fried rice was out of this world! We were still talking about the rice a few days later. It really is different from anything else. I tried the curry fried rice too and the plain, regular fried rice, is still the best. If this place wasn't so out of the way for me, I'd definitely be here more often. read more

A gem of a find! We stopped here on the recommendation of a friend, we were nor disappointed! I had the Iron Chef Mapo Yaki and my wife had the Donporo Ramen upon the suggestion by the waitress, there were so many choices. The Mapo Yaki had a slight sweet flavor with a hint of spice. Very delicious, the noodles were cooked well and the sauce was very flavorful. The Donporo was equally delicious, the meat was tender and tasty. We shared the 6 piece Gyoza, soft and delicious, it paired well with the sauce from the Mapo Yaki. The food came fast and the service was great, never had to ask for anything except a to-go box. Parking is no problem, but the place fills up fast! There is a bar if no tables are available. Not a huge space but I didn't see a huge line on a Saturday night. We went back to Eboshi to see if there were any improvements since my last review. On this visit, the staff were all wearing company branded shirts, which was nice to see. Additionally, this time as well no one was ducking behind the counter on their cellphone. There was a significant improvement in the soup base, it was packed full of flavor and not salty. Once again though, food delivery needs to be improved. Appetizers should served before the main entree is delivered. Maybe the wait staff needs to communicate to the cooks to start on the appetizers, rather than starting everything at the same time. Or ask the diners, "would you like your appetizers with your meal or before?" Somewhere there's a lack of communication and understanding about when appetizers should be served. read more

This is a review for their takeout service. We order from Eboshi quite a bit and enjoy the food, but their takeout is usually not ready. I'm not talking about a couple minutes late; I mean not ready as in they are not aware of my order until I go to pick it up. The last time they told me they forgot to check the online orders when they reopened for dinner. A restaurant that accepts online orders but doesn't check them? This is not a new establishment. I get that it was the first pickup slot and sometimes it can get busy with customers eating in, but it was not busy, and as I said before, this is a common occurrence. My family and I have been regulars at Eboshi for years now! Large portions and soo tasty. Although this is a "ramen bar" I actually have never tried their ramen because I've loved some of the other dishes I've tried and just have to get it every time. My favorite dish is the combination, which comes with their fried rice, and you get the option between the Tori karaage or gyoza. The fried rice is tasty and I like adding the homemade seasoning that is available on the table. The batter on the karaage has the perfect texture.. so crispy! The chicken has a lot of flavor and tastes like it was marinated before. I like dipping the karaage in my own sauce I make from the sauces offered on the table - a combination of the vinegar, soy sauce & chili oil. The gyoza is so delicious and unique. Definitely homemade. Can't wait to come back! (And eventually I'll try the ramen haha) read more

Eboshi has been a go-to for my family for years! I always get their nikku yasai itame. I'd also recommend the gyoza, or nasu miso. Inside seating is kinda limited, so be prepared to wait if you go around dinner time. Their online ordering system also takes forever for the food to be ready (60+ min), and the prices are increased on it, so be careful of that. The workers are always friendly and attentive, and are always making sure to refill hot tea or water cups. read more

Came here for lunch and personally had the dan-dan soup noodles. They were delicious, and a VERY filling portion. The food here tends to favor the saltier side, but it's still very tasty and the service is friendly and attentive. There are a LOT of ramen options, and I also tasted the curry noodles, and the traditional ramen. They have a few tables outside with umbrellas, and there is a private parking lot.
