Hubby & I came here for their lunch special. The Sweet & Sour Chicken is highly recommended! We enjoyed it so much! This restaurant is in the shopping area across from El Pollo Loco. There's plenty of parking especially if you don't come during meal times The interior is small and is simply decorated. I liked the kitty figurines. Service is efficient but I can't say the staff is very friendly. Although the menu doesn't state that soup is included, we were each given a cup of Hot & Sour Soup at lunch. Hubby chose the Mongolian Beef. The beef was flavorful and very tender. The only thing about it was that it was only beef & onions. So many onions. If you like lots of onions with some beef, this would be the dish for you! I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken. After Hubby had a taste, he loved it! He said, "It was the best Sweet & Sour Chicken he's ever had." I have to agree! The chicken was still crispy and yet tender. The sauce was not your usual reddish Sweet & Sour sauce. It was brownish sauce, which was unusual to me, but it was good! Each Entrée includes rice. We will be back for the Sweet & Sour Chicken and to try other dishes.

Spicy Chinese Kitchen is a new hidden gem in Torrance! This spot just opened up in a small plaza at the border of Torrance and Harbor City. It still has the name of the previous restaurant that was there but they have a large red banner that says "Spicy Chinese Kitchen. Grand Opening." Though relatively new I could definitely tell when I visited that this spot is gaining popularity quickly! By the time I left, this small spot had every table filled. I was impressed right from the start. They have a great lunch special that starts at $10.99. Each meal is kicked off here with complimentary peanuts and pickled vegetables and lunch special includes soup and white rice. They've got a great selection of entrees. My friend and I ended up getting Cashew Nut Chicken and Chicken with Green Onion. Both dishes were flavorful and tasty. Portion sizes were huge too and I had plenty of leftovers. I really like this new spot. They've got delicious and affordable food and I am looking forward to coming back.

Stir fried hot pepper chicken is so good and spicy great find for my Sichuan food cravings when I'm in town. Green or standard milk tea, along with the honey green tea have all been really satisfying. Nice ambiance, good for solo or group dining. Service is great, attentive and quick.

Hidden gem in the Torrance area and the dishes are authentic. Love the Chengdu style roasted duck and it's was a big portion. I was ordered the shredded eel and it tasted so good. Totally would come back again. The restaurant is pretty small but clean. It's more like a family style restaurant and the service was great.
Got the Broccoli Beef ($16.90) and Mixed Fried Rice ($15.90). Both dishes tasted really good. Very fresh ingredients. They really pack the food into the containers. Also, you can taste the Wok Hei flavor. The indoor seating can probably accommodate 15 - 20 people. SCK is located in a strip mall that has Del Taco and El Pollo Loco. Service was very friendly.
Went for lunch specials on a weekend and this is a full level leap up in regional Chinese food for the area! Reasonably priced and very spicy (be careful if you aren't used to southern Chinese food!). My mouth was still stinging well after the meal for the delicious hunan chicken with decent wok hei. The mustard shrimp was tasty, crispy and creamy. The San di xian (eggplant / green pepper / potato) was wonderful. The tea drinks were also good with fresh fruit in the fruit tea, and an extra good deal as a combo with the lunch specials. Bonus rural Chinese life videos were playing on the TV as we waited for our food. Service was prompt and friendly and she spoke good English. We would've eaten there if they had outdoor seating but we went to a park nearby with our takeout and that was great too. We'll have to go back to try more Hunanese (and chongqing) specialties and fried tea snacks
Saw this new place and decided to give it a try on my daily walk, the food was really good I'll be coming back often to try out more of the menu items. Service was great and the place is really clean. Their lemon tea is very good, they have a huge drink selection so I'll be trying it all out as time goes
Honestly, as someone who's lived in the South Bay of Los Angeles for years, I had pretty much given up on Chinese food around here. When eating out nearby, it's usually Japanese or Korean. The Chinese food isn't exactly bad, just kind of mediocre, but the prices are really high. If I'm really craving it, I'd rather just go to the Chinese communities, eat there and pack some to-go so it lasts a few more meals. I recently saw that a new spicy Chinese spot opened here, and after checking the reviews, it seemed pretty solid, so of course I had to check it out. First off, the pricing is actually pretty comparable to the Chinese areas. They also have daily lunch specials, around $10 with rice, plus $2.75 for a drink. For people working nearby, that's honestly a great deal. As someone with a Chinese palate, I can't eat ramen every day. Sometimes I just want proper stir-fry dishes. Braised spicy duck The price is similar to what you'd find in the Chinese areas, but the portion is huge. The duck is meaty, not skinny or bony at all. There are lots of add-ins, and there's no way you'll finish it in one sitting. You'll probably end up taking it home, and you can treat it like hot pot later by adding whatever ingredients you like. It actually gets more flavorful the longer it cooks. So good. Spicy beef with tofu pudding This is a must-order for me. The beef is sliced very thin and super tender. The seasoning is really on point, and tofu pudding with beef is just such a perfect combo. Amazing with rice. Minced pork with pickled long beans Very home-style, comforting flavor. The fresh chilies add a nice, bright aroma. My husband said it reminded him of something his uncle used to cook, which I think is a pretty high compliment. We ordered egg fried rice for the kid, just thinking it would be something simple to keep them busy, but it actually turned out really good. Even with green onions, which my kid usually refuses to eat, they still had four bowls. They also have quite a few non-spicy dishes that are kid-friendly, so if parents are craving something spicy, you can just order what you like and get one or two mild dishes for the kids.
Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever eaten! We only had one night in the area and chose this spot based on a recommendation--and it completely blew us away. My husband and I have brought up this meal multiple times over the last two weeks; it was honestly that good. The General Tso's chicken is unbelievable, the pork and green beans were cooked to absolute perfection, and even the rice was incredibly fluffy and buttery. We are so sad we don't live in the area, and we're desperately wishing they would open a location near us in Houston!
Everything was made fresh to order, and you can really taste the difference. The wok hei was strong, and every dish came out hot and flavorful. The hot stir-fried beef was super tender, and the hot stir fried double was a must try. Even the non-spicy options were well balanced and not bland,kids love them. If you love bold, freshly cooked Hunan food with real heat, this spot is worth checking out. Will definitely be back.

SoCal hot weather needs a spicy kick. And this time, the spicy kick brought us to Torrance in the South Bay. First, we started with the Chengdu Roast Duck. Just look at this HUGE bowl!!!! The spiciness was no joke. It came with noodles, potatoes, Spam, veggies, and so much more inside. such a unique dish !! Other spicy favorite is the shredded pork Perfect for mild spicy meat lover! We had the eel, shrimp and veggie soup, crunchy milk rolls, popcorn chicken and sides of steamed rice. Everything was fresh, hot, good amount of spice and very tasty. Amazing to have such an authentic place so close to home. Highly recommend, the staff is very nice and welcoming. A must try! read more

Table for two, we ordered the Chongqing Style Spicy Chicken and Sichuan Pepper Black Fish Fillet. Portions were huge and they didn't hold back on the spice at all! I've been to many Sichuan restaurants in Socal and have ordered the chicken dish at each one, and these were for sure the spiciest and numbing of them all (while still being extremely flavorful and delicious). I highly recommend this place if you've been craving actual mala food. The rice was included with the dishes. The server was also nice and attentive, refilling our water frequently. Because they recently opened, they also offered free dessert or discount specials. We got sesame balls which were also yummy. We definitely want to come back and try more dishes! read more

So happy to have something like this on the west side--no more driving to SGV every weekend The food is legit, portions are generous, and prices are actually pretty reasonable. They just added crawfish (yes, crawfish in LA!)--$28 for 2 lbs and $57.9 for 5 lbs, which is a great deal. Some highlights for me: * Hunan-style stir-fried chicken - easily one of the best I've had in LA. Super flavorful, tangy + spicy, and lots of meat. * Grilled fish - very rich and loaded. Comes with tons of sides (tofu puffs, veggies, glass noodles) plus fish balls and spam, which is a nice surprise. * Hunan rice noodles - not too oily, very balanced, and packed with toppings (shrimp, pork, beef, egg). Portion is HUGE--def enough for 3-4 people for ~$18. Their stir-fry dishes are also well priced (~$20-26) and portions are solid Honestly feels like better value than a lot of SGV spots. They also have roast duck (huge portion, a bit salty for me) and milk tea , which is perfect if you need something to cool down--the food here definitely leans spicy It was already pretty busy when I went, with a short wait and lots of pickup orders. The restaurant was pretty busy when we walked in, which was a good sign. We ordered the Mao Kao Duck, Peppercorn Fish Fillet, and Stir-fried Beef with Chili Peppers. The duck came in a big pot and was very flavorful with a nice level of spice. The fish was tender with a great green peppercorn aroma, and the beef had strong wok flavor and went perfectly with rice. Overall a small, casual spot but the food was really solid. Would definitely come back when craving spicy Chinese food. read more

I found a new restaurant near by, so I decided to try it out and order their Spicy Cold Chicken. Their Cold Chicken is really well cooked with a rich sweet and spicy flavor! I recommend this place to people who are into Chinese food! read more
