With the cyclospora in mind, Chinese food seems like the safest bet. This place feels like a hole in the wall type of restaurant. There were a couple couples that look like they're on dates. Service is really good here. And we ordered all the food we wanted to try. It seems like they tried to limit the chances of the cyclospora parasite since no one has a definite source yet (Mongolian beef usually has raw green onions but they subbed wok fired yellow onions). But some stuff they kept the cilantro and green onions (bc they were cold dishes) The pan fried dumpling would have been good if it didn't have so much Ginger.. I'm not too into Ginger but the dumpling was nice because it had the juice inside of it and the texture was nice The refreshing woodear is a cold dish that has a chewy/crunchy texture. The soy sauce/vinegar flavor makes it refreshing when the other foods get heavy. Spicy beef slices were not that bad, but I prefer more of the spicy szechuan flavor (numbing/tingly feeling). The cilantro and green onions also provided good flavor The beef and onion pancake reminded me of mushu beef, it had the same wrap, hoision sauce flavor with meat and veggies-green onions. It also had good amount of meat Hunan beef was ok but wife enjoyed it. Wife's cooking prepared me for the peppers...is it a jalapeno or a green pepper...Russian roulette if you can't handle spicy. The Mongolian beef had reg onions instead of the green onions. Lots of onions..but I can't be mad bc the onions had the wok fire flavor, which I enjoy and not many places do it. The spicy eggplant with hot garlic sauce had lots of woodears, the eggplant was a little more on the sweet side, and the eggplant had a little bit of a crispyness to it. The salt and pepper shrimp almost reminded me of fried cake batter. It had some sweetness to it so it confused me cuz I was expecting something savory. At the end of the meal we had our fortune cookie, which seemed like it was more of an ad than a fortune.. sneaky Fortune Cookie company. Two days ago, I was here. My dandan noodle came out super late, ended up taking it for to go. Today, I came back to eat the dandan noodle. I want it fresh and hot. Well indeed it's really good. Pack with flavor not spicy but just enough kick. Very well. Now, this place has the best Dandan noodle, even better than the one in Monterey Park or Alhambra. Best part is, its even good when it's cold. Garlic pork ribs. I was thinking like a riblets but it's more like garlic fried pork chop. Not what I expected but it's delicious. Fried pork dumpling. The store looked clean but we just stopped by to pick up our order. My mom fell in love with this place! -Surprised my Mom with Chinese for dinner since she absolutely loves honey walnut shrimp. The servings were huge, we had to box up our food. I love how they make everything to order and the food comes sizzling hot. We also tried the red bun, 10/10 stars. They're so adorable and big too, for only $3 they are a steal. Wow. The owners are super kind and the food is excellent! My husband and I went here for a date and tried new things. We are trying to find a new dim sum place and this was really fun. My absolute favorite thing was the beef pancakes with no cilantro. Holy cow must try. It taste like a mix of pot roast and barbecue and there is a lot of meat. The pancake is a mix mixed between a burrito and a crêpe. I've also gotten a lot of of their stirfry and those are always very satisfying and good portion sizes. I wish they offered more of a vegetable mixture like bell peppers but everything is always very fresh. We tried their famous soup dumplings, and those were good too! Tasty China by its name alone and location in very isolated stripmall corner appears like hole in the wall "Panda-esque" Chinese, BUT it's a great choice to get more authentic Chinese cuisine like you'd have in San Gabriel Valley. They do have standard Chinese Ame. dishes but they're probably most well known for Xiao Long Bao - steamed soup dumplings. The skins and thin and delicate and expertly folded. This is similar quality of steamed dumplings to Din Tai Fung. Strong recommendation! Friendly service also. The way I didn't even know this restaurant existed until a few weeks ago.. definitely a hidden gem! We ordered the pork xiao long bao, chicken chow mein (not pictured), and the dry pot cauliflower. One of the best little hole-in-the-wall places with it's own charm and tasty dishes! I normally get the Dan Dan Noodles which are absolutely exceptional and hits the spot. It packs the right amount of flavors and the spicy kick is addictive, leaving you craving for the next bite of it. I've also really taken a liking to their pork buns they serve here which is a hearty, cute bun that's sure to fill you up! They're quite deceiving, making you think you can eat more than you want so normally two will completely fill me up. The Chonqing Chicken Special is also very good! I like how it's kind of a take on a really spicy, homemade fried, popcorn chicken dish. Never had anything like it before and it's definitely delicious as long as you're a spicy lover. Staff are incredibly kind and will answer any particular questions about the dishes there if you're unsure what to expect from certain ones on the menu. Don't be shy! Tried to give this place another chance after not being satisfied the first time. Food is expensive and not that great, but soup sounded really nice today. I called to place a pickup order because I had questions about the menu. The man who answered the phone was short and curt with me the entire time, but I still chose to give them a chance. I was trying to add more food to my order, and used the word "side" - which he did NOT like. He promptly informed me that Tasty China was "not fast food, it was a restaurant" and that "I would have to pay full price, not for a side". I was shocked by the blatant assumption that me asking for more on my order was me trying to receive free items. I informed him that wasn't what I had meant and I had no problem paying for a full side and his condescending response in return was enough for me to just cancel my order and hang up. It's too bad their customer service is lacking in friendliness and understanding, however, not even the food makes up for the way you're treated. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

I'm so glad that I found this authentic Chinese restaurant in my area! It's really hard to come by good tasting Chinese food around in Ventura County. I usually go back to LA to satisfy those needs, but now I know where to go to locally if I'm feeling Chinese food. They started us off with a free pickled veggie appetizer. For the entrees, we got the beef rolls, wonton soup, pork xiao long bao, and Dan Dan noodles. I was really impressed with the pork xiao long bao. I love how much soup is inside the skin and how tender the meat is. The wonton soup was nice and hot. Dan Dan mian was quite spicy but it was a good kick and had nice flavor. Just wish the noodles weren't as overcooked. Overall, the service was great and the food was delicious. I can't wait to go back to try more authentic Chinese entrees :) read more
