Two days ago, I was here. My dandan noodle came out super late, ended up taking it for to go. Today, I came back to eat the dandan noodle. I want it fresh and hot. Well indeed it's really good. Pack with flavor not spicy but just enough kick. Very well. Now, this place has the best Dandan noodle, even better than the one in Monterey Park or Alhambra. Best part is, its even good when it's cold. Garlic pork ribs. I was thinking like a riblets but it's more like garlic fried pork chop. Not what I expected but it's delicious. Fried pork dumpling. Wow. The owners are super kind and the food is excellent! My husband and I went here for a date and tried new things. We are trying to find a new dim sum place and this was really fun. My absolute favorite thing was the beef pancakes with no cilantro. Holy cow must try. It taste like a mix of pot roast and barbecue and there is a lot of meat. The pancake is a mix mixed between a burrito and a crêpe. I've also gotten a lot of of their stirfry and those are always very satisfying and good portion sizes. I wish they offered more of a vegetable mixture like bell peppers but everything is always very fresh. We tried their famous soup dumplings, and those were good too! The shopping center is definitely sketchy and I wish there was more security and it would look nicer, but this is one of those hole in the walls! read more

Still with a little juice inside which is exactly what you want Wonton soup: by far the best wonton soup I've ever had. I usually hate mushrooms but I ate every bit of mushroom in it. The mushrooms were small, and the large pieces were sliced thinly. The wontons were great and the broth was flavorful and comforting Chili fried fish: OUR FAVORITE, MUST HAVE!!! This is so delicious. Ordered delivery from here and was highly satisfied. Had two orders, 1. Fried Rice and the other was the Singapore Rice Noodle. My wife enjoyed her fried rice even though she tends to like her rice a little on the "el dente" side and I really enjoyed my Singapore noodle. The flavors of both were great on day one but day two it's like everything blended even more together ! The portion size was good for two meals also! My mom fell in love with this place! -Surprised my Mom with Chinese for dinner since she absolutely loves honey walnut shrimp. The servings were huge, we had to box up our food. I love how they make everything to order and the food comes sizzling hot. We also tried the red bun, 10/10 stars. They're so adorable and big too, for only $3 they are a steal. It's a cute small hole in the wall usually with 1 server so we had to wait a little but overall service was good. Highly recommend but avoid busy dinner times. We got beef and broccoli, orange chicken, vegetable fried rice, beef dumplings, and Dan Dan noodles. I would say the only dishes that even came close to having any real flavor was the vegetable fried rice and beef dumplings. All other dishes were just not good. Bland and weird flavor combos. Tasty China by its name alone and location in very isolated stripmall corner appears like hole in the wall "Panda-esque" Chinese, BUT it's a great choice to get more authentic Chinese cuisine like you'd have in San Gabriel Valley. They do have standard Chinese Ame. dishes but they're probably most well known for Xiao Long Bao - steamed soup dumplings. The skins and thin and delicate and expertly folded. This is similar quality of steamed dumplings to Din Tai Fung. Strong recommendation! Friendly service also. And as seen in the classic movie "A Christmas Story" they're open on most major holidays! read more

The way I didn't even know this restaurant existed until a few weeks ago.. definitely a hidden gem! We ordered the pork xiao long bao, chicken chow mein (not pictured), and the dry pot cauliflower. All of it was yummy but the dry pot cauliflower may be my favorite. Service was very fast and efficient as well. I think this is a pretty good alternative when I'm craving din tai fung. We ordered the egg flower soup, spicy wontons, beef dumplings, and the mixed vegetables. The spicy wonton sauce was so addicting. It was sweet, sour, and the wontons were huge. The beef dumplings were also super juicy inside with a meaty filling. Loved the mixed vegetables and the honey walmut shrimp as well. Both entrees come with a side of white rice. Tasty little spot! Very unassuming but once you go inside and see the place full of people, it's clear that Tasty's China has regulars and is a gem to the locals. Servers were super kind and down to earth, and I loved the little animal crossing lofi videos they played on their TV's. Made us feel comfy and welcomed! The food was delicious, especially the chili fried fish. Amazing! Honey walnut shrimp was so yummy, but personally it felt quite heavy/greasy and sweet. Tried to give this place another chance after not being satisfied the first time. Food is expensive and not that great, but soup sounded really nice today. I called to place a pickup order because I had questions about the menu. The man who answered the phone was short and curt with me the entire time, but I still chose to give them a chance. I was trying to add more food to my order, and used the word "side" - which he did NOT like. He promptly informed me that Tasty China was "not fast food, it was a restaurant" and that "I would have to pay full price, not for a side". I was shocked by the blatant assumption that me asking for more on my order was me trying to receive free items. I informed him that wasn't what I had meant and I had no problem paying for a full side and his condescending response in return was enough for me to just cancel my order and hang up. It's too bad their customer service is lacking in friendliness and understanding, however, not even the food makes up for the way you're treated. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

One of the best little hole-in-the-wall places with it's own charm and tasty dishes! I normally get the Dan Dan Noodles which are absolutely exceptional and hits the spot. It packs the right amount of flavors and the spicy kick is addictive, leaving you craving for the next bite of it. I've also really taken a liking to their pork buns they serve here which is a hearty, cute bun that's sure to fill you up! They're quite deceiving, making you think you can eat more than you want so normally two will completely fill me up. The Chonqing Chicken Special is also very good! I like how it's kind of a take on a really spicy, homemade fried, popcorn chicken dish. Never had anything like it before and it's definitely delicious as long as you're a spicy lover. Staff are incredibly kind and will answer any particular questions about the dishes there if you're unsure what to expect from certain ones on the menu. Don't be shy! All in all, one of my favorite little place to order from lately whenever I'm in the area for work! Can't recommend this place enough!! It's great to have foodie friends! I was craving good Chinese food and my friend Dolores (Yelp Elite) recommended that I try this place, I'm so glad I did! Everything tasted amazing and the dumplings were mouthwatering! I could have eaten them all by myself, but of course I shared them with my family. The garlic chicken was also great with perfectly crisp vegetables. My sweet and sour soup was not only delicious but hot just the way I like it. Make sure to also order a sweet tea! It comes in a can and it's so good, different than other teas I've tried before. The service was excellent we were greeted with a smile. The waitress that took or order was on top of things! Looking for good authentic Chinese and this place was recommended and what an amazing dinner. We (8) went on a Tuesday early night 5pm and plenty of seats. We were advised the food might take longer because alot of door dash orders. That was amazing to communicate with us. We were not in a hurry. Everything came out freshly made and extremely hot. We were not disappointed at all. This is a tiny place in a strip mall section but very authentic. The server was very attentive and kind and explained if we had questions. No problem ordering 1 dan dan noodle not so spicy and wow so much flavor. One bowl was split between 3 of us. We even took home left overs. Another reason why this place is 1 star is because the bow bends did not have the correct bbq pork in them. And the last reason why is the beef chow fun was basically just garlic noodle. I've been dying to try tasty China for so long and I'm really glad I finally made it in. The food, service, and atmosphere were a 5/5. It's definitely a good spot for Chinese food and with limited options on this side of Ventura, I can see why it's always busy and getting such rave reviews. Walking in for lunch the restaurant was half full and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The restaurant itself is small with about 8 tables. If you come at lunch rush it may be hard to find a spot to sit but coming like I did today for a late lunch, only half full. The restaurant is colorful and welcoming. A relaxed vibe and not too loud inside. Staff were lovely. I really thought my waitress today was great and I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. She told me she was from China and she was young. She was a great conversationalist and very friendly. She told me a lot about the dishes and the area of China that the cooks and such are from. She really made what was already a great lunch experience an A+. She was friendly yet on top of things, taking my order quickly, well placed and allowing me to go on my way since I was only here on a quick lunch break. The menu is pretty extensive and they have a nice lunch combo menu where the items are all $15 and under. This includes soup, the entree, rice and an egg roll. Super good value and fresh cooked to order food. I loved my meal today. I went with the Mongolian beef plate. The egg drop soup was thick and warm, perfect for a cold day. The egg roll and rice were tasty, but the beef was the star of the show. Love that the tables have chili oil. Only point worth noting is that the good here is Chinese with Szechuan influence. That's different than Americanized Chinese/cantonese food that we are likely more used to. Szechuan food naturally may be a little more spicy with the sauces and focus more on spices and oil than being sweet or savory. So my Mongolian beef wasn't the traditional dark savory sauce and instead had hints of spice and chili. It was delicious and different than what I'm used to which wasn't bad at all, just important to be aware when coming here. I'm eager to come back for their dim sum and noodles, the menu was so inviting! Only little tip I'd make for customers is possibly to park on the street. Unfortunately the parking lot tucked around the back from this restaurant has been eerie and a little sketch on more than one occasion. Being next to a smoke shop and across the street from some markets the people walking through the lot are a little "unique." While I don't like to profile, there have been times I haven't been comfortable parking back here and once I even left before dining in as a guy was being weird around some of the cars parked in the back. Today I had a similar experience, there was a guy digging through his trunk and appeared under the influence - so much so that after dining for 30 minutes here, I came back out and he was still doing it. Also there were three cop cars next door for the 30 minutes as well managing some sort of situation. All of this to say the business cannot control them and in no way do I fault them. I just think for people dining in I'd highly recommend parking in the street to the side of this restaurant or near the front where you can keep an eye on your cars. Having had this experience twice it was just worth noting to maintain safety and awareness but also not stopping yourself from coming to a restaurant that is really fabulous and inviting on the inside :) read more

Where can I start? This is the best authentic Chinese food in Ventura county! Coming from the San Gabriel valley where it is Asian city with Chinese food, I can tell you that this place definitely gave me a feeling of home. Their fried rice was amazing, lots of flavor, cooked to perfection. The dumplings are huge! Very flavorful, and juicy. The pork isn't over cooked in the dumplings and the xiaolong bao has great soup to meat ratio. I would go for the original xiaolong bao rather than the shrimp but if you're a shrimp lover you can't go wrong with the shrimp XLB. The place is on the smaller side with limited seating available. I would recommend waiting for a table as it is best served freshly cooked. read more

I'm so glad that I found this authentic Chinese restaurant in my area! It's really hard to come by good tasting Chinese food around in Ventura County. I usually go back to LA to satisfy those needs, but now I know where to go to locally if I'm feeling Chinese food. They started us off with a free pickled veggie appetizer. For the entrees, we got the beef rolls, wonton soup, pork xiao long bao, and Dan Dan noodles. I was really impressed with the pork xiao long bao. I love how much soup is inside the skin and how tender the meat is. The wonton soup was nice and hot. Dan Dan mian was quite spicy but it was a good kick and had nice flavor. What horrible customer service. I ordered through grubhub. Waited 45 min to then receive a call from the restaurant saying " I'm sorry we gave your order to door dash" she then proceed to tell me what I need to do to get a refund from Grubhub. I spent 25 min on customer service to get a refund and cancel My order. I called back tasty china and the girl was rude and kept stating this is not "our" problem when in fact it is ... the restaurant gave my order to the wrong carrier. Now the restaurant isn't willing to help at all. As a mom of two special needs situations like this feel extra stressful with kids crying and now an hour into thinking we would have food. I did ask for the manager "sonnie" and no manager is on site?! Hmm. I was a local die hard for this place and now I will tell everyone I know to not order from them. For lunch today, I ordered takeout from Tasty China. Here's my review of the dishes: 1. Chong Qing Special Chicken - First time trying this dish, and it was a pleasant surprise. The crispy texture was unique, and it wasn't overly spicy. 2. Kung Pao Chicken - A decent dish with a balanced flavor but nothing particularly outstanding. 3. Mongolian Beef - There was more onion than beef, which was a bit disappointing. However, the beef itself was tender and enjoyable. 4. Combination Fried Rice - Some rice grains weren't evenly cooked, with clumps here and there. The flavor was average and not particularly memorable. Overall Thoughts...My rating: 3.5/5.
