One of the best Chinese food spots I've ever had. I have to start with the duck, it is absolutely amazing. The portions are generous, everything is super flavorful, and it really feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant experience. The ambience is great and you truly get a real taste of Asian cuisine. The restaurant itself is more high-end for Chinese and it's beautiful. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you order, but in my opinion it is completely worth it. We stopped in at the Peking Inn tonight for dinner. The restaurant was quite busy and appears to be a popular choice for the locals. We were seated at a lovery booth and were brought some nice hot tea by our terrific server, Maddie. Maddie asked if we had any questions about the menu as this was our first time at the restaurant. We asked about the soups and entrees and decided on two cups of egg flower soup with the crispy noodles as our appetizer. We then ordered our entrees with orange chicken and beef and broccoli. Both dishes were very good. Maddie provided excellent service. The ambiance was quite cozy and warm as well. The food was plentiful so we took quite a bit home for tomorrow. Hidden landmark (I hope it is) in Camarillo. Been around since 1980's. Apparently everyone local knows about it. It is honor to finally try a restaurant rated so high. This is a spot on must visit restaurant. Drinks- Started off with a drink called Suffering Bastard made with 151 & Meyers dark rum. For a Chinese restaurant this was really good quality (not fresh). I forget to take a photo but there are about 8 tropical drinks you can order like Mai Tai, Hurricane, Pina Colada and zombie that I can remember. There is also a full wine/beer list. Food- Cantonese, Szechuan and Mandarin style cuisine. -Szechuan wontons was marinated in the most comforting feel good sauce. -Black Pepper Noodle dish- Marinated noodles with peppered steak -Kung Pao Chicken (my personal favorite). -Sesame pockets with meat. Crispy exterior enveloped in a sesame bread pocket with warm marinated meat inside. (my 2nd favorite) Delicious and well done overall. Very high quality and satisfying comfort food. Service is amazing. Restaurant does appear dated and possibly needs new seating booths but it's not bad. I shall return to try the dim sum, shrimp dishes and tofu. A couple of dishes were okay, but several were way too oily. Mediocre dim sum, good fresh vegetable ingredients in other dishes.

Used them for years, $250+ per month for delivery orders. Now out of the blue they decided to try to charge me extra for a small steamed rice and for extra crispy noddles for soup. Lost us and everyone I tell, it's back to Chester's, I will pick up myself over giving them any more of my money. good business move. read more

I hadn't come here in years, but came twice in a couple months and it's one of my favorite Chinese spots in the area! The honey walnut shrimp was cooked so well and the sauce was so tasty. The bbq pork with green beans had great flavor and the green beans were fresh. We also ordered the tangerine chicken and fried jumbo shrimp which were both great as well. I love the ambiance inside and the pink colors. The service is great as well and they are always kind and helpful. This is such a great local spot and I recommend it! read more

Spot on best Chinese delivery in the area bar none. Friendly family that delivers great food. Chesters used to be our go to, but Peking won our business a few years ago when Chesters kept messing up our takeout orders and were rude about it. Peking Inn is more consistent for take-out especially since they deliver, and Chesters does not. They also deliver personally, not a separate delivery service. We have never had a missing item or incorrect order, and they not only give fortune cookies but almond cookies too. They also don't forget the hot mustard and other condiments. They also offer brown rice instead of the complimentary white for a slight up charge. read more

I invited two other couples to join us for a Dim Sum experience. I thought this place was not at the same level as China Town dim sum. But I was pleasantly surprised - the food was pretty good. Dim sum dishes tasted on par ! We had a good time trying many different dishes - shrimp dumplings (haw kaw), sticky rice with chicken, soup dumplings, Shu-mai, and beef rice noodle. I was craving some good asian comfort food. I decided to give Peking Inn a try! I called the restaurant and ordered the lunch portion of black pepper beef with steamed rice, mongolian beef with steamed rice and shrimp har gow. It was ready in 10-15 mins. I got home and the food looked absolutely delicious. I dug in and it was hitting the spot. I was eating pretty fast, one of my bites felt like I just chewed some hair, but I dismissed it as a vegetable and kept eating. As my meat was disappearing, I noticed a short curly black hair mixed in with my mongolian beef entree. I immediately spit out my food and trashed everything. I thought back to the hair like texture that was in my mouth that I dismissed and ate. I'm really disappointed to give a two star rating, but I feel sick to my stomach at the fact that there were multiple pieces of hair in my food. What a shame. read more

Decor is extremely dated. Vases and statues clearly are only dusted on the front side. The bathroom and hallway leading to it are covered in grime. Bathroom needs a deep cleaning. When our food came there was hair in my cashew shrimp plate. I show the server and he takes plate away and leaves the food that had a hair in it - and brings me a new plate. I'm not eating food that has hair in it . All of the food was very bland, the fried rice wasn't fried. It was white rice with soy sauce. Absolutely disappointing and embarrassing to bring a guest here. She shared the same sentiments. You know darn well when you have to take all the food away and they don't want boxes - there is a big problem. We will not be back. read more

Loved my experience at this locale. Came on a Friday right at opening time with a large group (30+ people) after services at the local church. The private room was large enough to accommodate all of us. The large round table seat about 10 people. The large revolving tray made it easy for all the people seated to easily serve themselves what they wanted. The portions were huge even for sharing purposes. The best and favorite at our table was the honey walnut shrimp. So freshly made and perfect crunch without making it hard to bite. The kon pao chicken was a second favorite. A bit on the spicy side but eat it with some of the white rice to balance the heat. Our hot teas were refilled without having to ask and the waters were also kept refilling. Service was great. Did not take pictures because we were all feeling a bit nostalgic and were busy sharing memories. Can easily see us coming back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Was looking for a place to have lunch. Went on yelp to find a good Chinese place in Camarillo cause I was there for a meeting. I chose this place because it had good reviews in the menu looked good. Unfortunately, While the service was good, and fast, the food was so mediocre. The place was packed. I was shocked that everybody was there eating this flavorless food. I ordered Hong Kong combo pan fried noodles. When it arrived, it was a bowl of super soggy noodles drowning in a thin sauce. I will say that the shrimp, chicken and beef were all cooked very well and tender. But the sauce had very little flavor. The noodles were supposed to be thin and crispy but they were completely soggy. i. Not a crisp noodle to be found. I also ordered sweet-and-sour shrimp lunch special, which was just meh. It wasn't breaded, just sautéed shrimp. The shrimp were cooked well and the sauce was OK not great. Was missing that punch that sweet-and-sour usually has. I did ask to speak to the manager and he brought me over a box of crispy noodles by themselves so that I could add them into my pan fried noodle sauce. I pulled all the dead soggy noodles out and put a few handfuls of the crispy noodles in. It was better but the sauce still had no flavor. It was missing oyster sauce and a little cornstarch slurry. It was more thin like soup. :( They gave me a bowl of crispy noodles at the beginning when I sat down and after like five normal size crispy strips, it was all just crushed crumbs. It was basically a bowl of wonton crumbs. I complained and asked if there was some more Whole pieces and they brought out a nice big bowl of full size wonton crispies. I don't know what they were thinking they were getting away with by giving me a bowl of crumbs.! There were lots of people in there and this place has good reviews, but I won't be back. read more

Came for dinner around 5 pm on a Friday, and it wasn't busy inside. The first thing I noticed walking in, was that the dining room is very pink with plenty of seating. We were seated in a round booth, that could seat 4. We decided to spurge a little, and ordered the house special dinner, choosing the 3 flavor sizzling hot plate and the crispy pepper calamari as our two entrees. We were given fried won-tons and hot tea as starters without being asked. I've come to really appreciate Chinese restaurants that offer free, self-service hot tea for sit-down service. Less and less restaurants seem to be doing that. The food tasted OK, and the quantity was large. Since we knew we would be able to take this home for the next day, we intentionally filled up on the courses before the main entrée. One nice touch that is missing in other places, is that Sizzling hot plate dish was completed at our table (i.e. the food was put on the very hot metal plate so it 'sizzled' right in front of us). That being said, the flavor of the dish was bland and the beef was definitely food services sourced (mushy....though I bet it could have been turned crispy with more time in the wok). The squid dish was hot and crispy, but again lacked flavor (I ended up dipping it in the sweet/sour eggroll sauce. The meal completed with both an almond cookie and fortune cookie. We were charged just for one dinner price, so all the other things I've mentioned were included. Cherie C. was our main waitress and she was great. Because we had so many courses, she had to stop by multiple times to drop off the food as it was prepared. She also had help by others to keep the water and hot tea refilled, and have the finished dishes bussed. By the time I finished writing this review, I changed the stars from an initial 4 (lack of flavor) to a 5 (great experience). From their location to the clientele, Peking Inn does Americanized Chinese food very well. The dining experience was exemplary. read more

I tried their Peking Duck & I'm VERY DISSATISFIED!! For $65.95 per order it is not worth it! DON'T EVER ORDER IT! it's very dry & bland in flavor and it came with tortillas & not the bun. We tried peking duck in other places that's why we know the difference & always comes with the bun. I called to ask why tortillas & I was told that I have to request the bun & it will take a while to make it. I was not asked if I wanted tortillas or the bun and we waited for 2 hours for the Peking duck to be prepared and should have enough time to make the bun at the same time. read more

Probably the most disappointing dim sum I've had for a while. It's like they had someone go to Hong Kong to taste the dim sum there and came back and tried to replicate it, a year later. Neither of the shrimp dish (har gao and shrimp/spinach dumpling) had shrimp flavor. They tasted very flat, and lack the elastic texture you'd expect from shrimp. The skin of the har gao were very thick. The char siu bao had a very pathetic meat to bun ratio, and the meat were not tasty at all. It's supposed to be savory with sweetness but I just tasted a mild saltiness to it. The siu mai was the worst of all, there were no flavor. It felt like just eating an unseasoned pork meatball at this point. They are charging too much for the baskets of disappointments they serve. This unfortunately is a hard no for me read more

The Lunch Special is decent for the price. The dim sum was underwhelming. The chicken siomai wrapper was overcooked and sticky. Not a lot of flavor. The shrimp wrapped in rice noodles had the same issue with the rice wrapping texture and flavor. They put in baby shrimps so barely any shrimp flavor - bland. The steamed pork ribs had too much soy sauce and black beans. Not appetizing. The fried shrimp with sugar cane was like pork meatballs. Barely any shrimp. I'd come here many many years ago, but Camarillo just wasn't a super convenient place for us to go eat, right between our house and my work. Anyway, I came here with my husband recently and he discovered some dishes he likes a LOT and now we come here much more regularly. His favorites right now are pork & cabbage which he can get in entrée form or soup. Often he just goes ahead and gets both. I like their shrimp dishes, and their flat noodles (chow fun) are also quite good. It's a pretty big restaurant, with an old-school Chinese restaurant atmosphere with the big puffy booths and kind of dim lighting. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food tastes fresh and delicious. I've been getting takeout from Peking Inn for about 3 years now. The food is delicious and everyone is very friendly and helpful and my orders are always ready by the time I arrive. Today's takeout was exceptional! They have really good egg rolls and crispy wonton noodles. They also have almond cookies!
