Crispy popcorn shrimp, great crunchy texture
    Gary B.

We chose Lure Fish House to have a family celebration; not a first visit for my wife and me but a first time which included our 4yr old. One of the reason we chose Lure is their extensive kid menu. For little one we ordered her the sliders (small burger) and fries which she enjoyed. We asked the server to bring our little one's meal as soon as possible and it arrived a few min before the appetizers ( really fast). We were given plenty of time to enjoy our appetizers of crab cakes, popcorn shrimp and shrimp cocktail before our entrees arrived. My wife loves shrimp and loved especially the shrimp cocktail for its freshness and the shrimp popcorn for its crunch and texture. The crab cakes for me were the best, lots of meat with not too much filler, delicious! I ordered the fried Cod with the fried shrimp and a side of slaw and cauliflower pesto. Wow what a delicious filling meal! The beer batter for the fish and the shrimp was amazing! As Crispy and crunchy as I was hoping while not tasting or having an oily residue. The slaw had a hint of pineapple and the cauliflower pesto was (to me) an inspired combination. My wife had the hanger streak and enjoyed every bite...even commenting about the deliciousness of the meal days later. Lastly, the service Jaime, our server, provided was very good, she had a patient rapport with our 4yr old and was attentive to our table without being pushy or aggressive....she was busy and yet managed to make us feel cared for. As a family we had a great experience and won't hesitate to come back or recommend the restaurant to our friends and family.

Wonderful meal with friends and family. The 10 of us were comfortably seated in a private room adjacent to the bar. Service was friendly and relatively fast. We enjoyed fresh seafood that tasted good and fairly priced. My go to is the cioppino. Variety of fresh fish and shellfish in a savory broth. Also recommend the Lure Martini.

We came for the happy hours on Sunday. We got there around 1:30pm and found a table at the bar. We got raw oysters, grilled oysters, calm chowder, shrimps ceviche and a mussel appetizer. All dishes were well prepared and delicious. Friendly service. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Top five meals of my year, easily! Went with a big group, so we were able to dine privately. Portions were great and pricing was really good for a seafood house. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and were all pretty full after with leftovers. My friends had just run a half marathon and the team brought us dessert to celebrate on the house! Super sweet servers on top of a great meal. My top picks were the ceviche and fish and chips (the shrimp and chips were fried perfectly). I also loved the ravioli, but I imagine it may be too heavy/creamy for some.

New Years Eve family dinner -- such a beautiful experience! -We took the kids to Lure for our NYE family dinner and are so glad we did! We arrived right before 5pm, beat the wait, and were seated instantly in the bar area (first come, first serve -- which worked out perfectly). We chose Lure because we love the ambiance -- it's always spotless, the service is consistently great, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the food quality never disappoints. We enjoyed strawberry basil elixirs, bacon biscuits with goat cheese, hanger steak with cilantro chimichurri sauce, brussels sprouts (so rich in flavor!), oysters, a Caesar salad, and the maple-glazed salmon plate. Everything was absolutely delicious and so well prepared. Even though it was understandably busy for NYE, our server Karla was amazing -- attentive, kind, and on top of everything, along with the hostess and bussers. Everyone left with full tummies, lots of laughs, and big smiles. And bonus -- they also have a phenomenal happy hour with a great selection! 10/10 stars -- thank you, Lure, for giving us such a memorable NYE family experience!

What a beautiful location both outside and in! Love the decor inside, really a warm and inviting atmosphere. I made it for happy hour and tried a few offerings. I ordered the Anacapa tower and a Baja fish taco. The fish taco was solid, not too different from a fish taco you could get elsewhere but a solid choice I would happily get again. The tower came with a few different items. The oysters I opted to order 1 of each option, of those the Volcano Bay and Grassy Bar were the standouts. The shrimp cocktail, I love that the cocktail sauce was seemingly made in house, unfortunately the shrimp was too overcooked and very watery, covered with horseradish and cocktail sauce they were passable but I wouldn't order those again. The shrimp ceviche was very clean and light and overall very tasty! It did lack some salt but was perfect with some hot sauce added. Lastly was the tuna ponzu which was a tad heavier than the ceviche but still a light bite, this was a bit too overpowering on its own but paired with the accompanying chips it made a truly perfect bite! Overall I would recommend the place and when I'm in the area I would happily come back!

The food is always delicious when we come in. Tonight we had the salmon with Brussel sprouts and lime rice. I was amazed at how yummy the Brussel sprouts were. Everything was perfect. The service was phenomenal, we sat at the oyster bar and loved it. We had a party of 4. The ambiance was a modern seafood upscale vibe. Very romantic.

Crispy Fish Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries
    Melanie G.

Went on Saturday around noon as a party of 5 and was able to be seated right away. Our waitresses were attentive throughout our meal I got the crispy fish sandwich with sweet potato fries (you can choose one side). The fish was 2 of their fried ling cod pieces, which is what you get from their fish and chips. I would have preferred one filet as it would've been easier to eat and not as thick of a sandwich. On top is white cheddar cheese, a pineapple slaw and tartar sauce. The cheddar cheese wasn't too strong, the pineapple slaw was good and the pineapple added a nice sweet balance and the tartar sauce wasn't too strong or much either. The bread was a very soft and buttery brioche. It was a heavy sandwich overall so by the end, I just took off some of the bread. The sweet potato fries were perfectly sweet, crispy and soft and well salted! I'm glad I got to try this place and it looks like there are a lot of other good options too!

Disappointing Mother's Day celebration. Cold meal, burned foods. Also with Slow service, will not be back, and will not recommend.

Everything was fantastic on this visit. My friend and I both thought the chowder was one of the best we'd had. Service was cheery, but she acknowledged she was very busy. Ambience is beachy, perfectly matching the cuisine. We loved every menu item: charbroiled oysters, clam chowder, crab cakes and the key lime pie. The sangria with brandy and St. Germain was perfection.

My family and I have visited the Lure Fish House restaurant in Ventura, but we hadn't been to this location before. They don't take reservations for small parties, but we didn't have a problem getting a table even during a busy day for them. We were promptly seated, and our waitress came over and gave us menus, my kids a small toy, water, and complimentary bread. We love the bread; it's always warm and delicious. Once we were ready, we placed our orders. I love their Lure Cioppino and a red wine sangria. My Cioppino was a very generous portion with fire-roasted tomato broth, fish, clams, mussels, scallops, and Mexican shrimp. I enjoyed my meal so much. I'm glad they don't skim on the seafood; I was even able to share a bit with my kids. My sangria was also very tasty. My husband loved his rockfish and sides! I tasted some of it, and it was so good. My kids also liked their kids' meals. The service was excellent! Our waitress lets us know that they are better than the Ventura location, of course, haha! This location also has beautiful decor and ample seating. I loved both locations. I'm glad we were able to try them out.

Yes, Lure does have a happy hour. M-Th 4-6 for sure. I'm not certain about Friday since it's more busy that day.

Yes they do have a corkage fee and it's very reasonable it's $20 they currently do not have a happy hour because of Covid but I highly recommend to save room for the desserts

At this time they have not brought back their happy hour.

Is there a Happy Hour now? And if yes, what time does it start?

I don't believe they've brought their Happy Hours back. Rum Fish in downtown Ventura has a FANTASTIC Happy Hour w/ solid service, great drink and food options. We love love love the Camarillo Lure location for both lunch & dinner. 😁

Going on now, but they have not opened the bar seating yet.

Are there any vegan options here for dinner?

Hi Unfortunately very few, their artichoke appetiser and salads, as well as rice bowl and plain pasta . I think that pretty much sums it up. I hope that helps.

He was in a lengthy, loud conversation with 1 lady sitting at the bar. There was one other man eating, at the table next to us, he was an employee. I had to go up to the bar and mentioned to him it was our first time here. He didn't seem to volunteer, any information on how to order, until I asked him. Then he just said there is a number on the table to order. I asked if he had a menu, he seemed bothered that I asked for a menu. He mentioned I could order from the hostess, so I did. She was very nice and polite and took our order. While waiting for the pizza, trying to get the napkin dispenser on the table to work. They were not even popping up to use. Bar tender ignored the tapping the dispenser on the table. So I switched one dispenser from another table to ours. He never said a word when I tried to get the napkins to pop up. The bartender looked and took the faulty ones and placed them on the bar counter, and never tended to the problem. He didn't even say anything, not a sorry about that, He just continued talking to the lady. Pizza was delivered and we had a few slices left. I just went to the hostess and asked her for a box. She was very fast and we thanked her on our way out. He did not do anything behind the bar, other than talk to the lady. Then he served her a drink, and then waved his hand over the screen, it appeared he didn't charge her for the drink, He did not type in anything. Then a man walked in and sat at the bar, he ordered a beer. Then suddenly bar tender, has lots of work to do, moving around the bar like he is supposed to. It was like someone knows somebody in the business. He was slacking and ignoring us, he never asked, is everything okay or if we needed a pizza box to go, I was already asking the hostess for a box. Probably because I got my own napkins, because I didn't want to interrupt him talking to the lady. We will not be going back to the 999 pizza Tiki bar. I am giving 1 star for the bar service. 5 Stars to the hostess.

I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be so full on a Tuesday night, but when you're as good as Ottavio's you develop a loyal following of locals who enjoy their time here. Many celebrations were obviously being had in just our little portion of the restaurant. There are multiple rooms, accommodating various sized parties, and the hot, delicious Italian faire just kept coming. Fresh, warm bread was delivered with our water and we dove into that doughy deliciousness strait away.
