*Review only for Trivia Night* Saw a fb ad about Trivia Night and decided to check it out with a friend. The place was empty and my greeting was a little awkward as they just stared at me until I pointed at the hall room and asked was this where Trivia was being held. They said yes & asked if I was with another party. I was not. The trivia night was hosted by Amanda Bonanza of King Trivia and there were 2 other plates (totaling 4). We ordered a bottle of wine and charcuterie board from the establishment and got to playing. Having played Trivia at another local spot, I've decided that either I'm not good at trivia or those questions were HARD lol Afterwards, I roamed a little and learned that this was their 3rd Trivia night hosting and the though the winery has been opened 15 years - the owners are new. So if you're looking for something to do on a Thursday night ... they host Trivia every Thursday at 630p Overall - it was decent.

When you first walk in, you feel like you're roaming through a labyrinth, hoping to finally reach your destination and drink some fine wine. You make a right, then, you see the bar filled with gracious staff, ready to pour some wine on a glass for you to enjoy. You are greeted by someone, who works there, and asks you what kind of wine you'll want. They have red, white, and sparkling wine. Leah is your charismatic wizard that can help pair a specific wine with the mood you're in. She did with me, at least. I felt anxious to know what the wines were like. I'm not a big wine drinker. You might ask, "Why are you at a wine cellar, then?" Well, the answer is my friends and the wonderful music they have during the weekends. They have bands playing there every weekend. From rock to country, from solo to a group of eight, you'll hear the rhythms of the glorious past being played in the amorous present we live in now. I recommend going to when Brandon Ragan is playing, as he draws a big crowd and will get you dancing on the smoothly-paved dance floor. The staff is wonderful and welcoming. I have never had any trouble, any of the six times I've been there. If you treat them with respect, you'll get the respect you want. It's not a one way street, where one party can be disrespectful and the other has to be respectful. The staff has been friendly with me, since the first time I arrived there with friends to listen to Midlife Crisis on a early Friday night. So, which wine is my favorite from there? My favorite one is a 2021 Butterfly Chardonnay which, to me, has a subtle, creamy taste. You grasp a semi-dry taste on your tongue, after taking the first sip of your Butterfly Chardonnay. I also like the bold, delicious Magnatude that leaves my body trembling with energy. Overall, I do recommend this place to anyone looking for a new place to grab a glass of wine with friends or even with a date.

I like Cava and was looking for sparking wine and the facility didn't have a thing. The sangria drink I had was decent but I just wasn't very impressed. It's local and it has a nice seating area . This is a decent place just not to my particular liking

Magnavino's wonderful tasting room staff.

Easy drinking wines and friendly, knowledgeable staff in a comfortable tasting room atmosphere and a spacious outside patio. $15/guest for a 5 pour flight tasting (waived with bottle purchase). Becky, Boo, and the rest of the staff were wonderful hostesses. Becky poured for us and even though she's only been there a month, she was so knowledgeable about all their wines, club member events, merchandise, etc. We had a wonderful time and left with five bottles of whites, reds, and dessert wines. We will return to try new releases. I recommend you visit and give their wines a try.

Amazing wine everyone must try

Ask the Community - Magnavino Cellars

Is this business kid friendly?

Yes we sure are.

Are they open again since COVID? Also, any chance they're dog friendly?

They're open! We've been in to pick up wine, and I've seen people dining outside as well. As to dog friendly, I don't know the answer to that.

Love Herzog. Haven't…read morebeen here in so long, but returned recently for a day of wine and eats for a vendor presentation. Herzog provided everything we needed including breakfast, glassware and amazing lunch options. Not to mention adjustments when the weather shifted. A great layout. Best restroom facilities and information about their amazing winery and its history. I've been part of the Wine & Spirits industry since 2012 on an off and more recently back on + Herzog is one of the best and oldest kosher wineries in the world. Joseph Herzog is an amazing man and the VP of HWC, I met him a few times in the past but it's been YEARS. I didn't get a chance to speak with him directly, but he thanked us for coming out and along with the rest of the Herzon team/family was nothing but welcoming and thoughtful. One of my favorite draws about Herzog overall is that's is 100% vegan friendly as well as kosher, making it suitable for so many people. And Tierra Sur is very vegan friendly - some dishes are vegetarian. Do let they know about allergies and restrictions and they'll do their absolute best to accommodate. Their Alexander Valley wines are some of my favorites for sure.

Parking was plentiful and spacious, the weather was lovely (not raining), and the space is beautiful! Upon entering everyone is very friendly and I was able to find the table easily. Both Alvin and EJ were very attentive to our table, always smiling bright and happy to see us, assuring that we had everything we needed, and made sure our taste testing went smoothly. We were given a wine list and we were able to choose six wines to wine taste from the list. My absolute favorite wines were between the Special Reserve Merlot 2023 Alexander Valley and the Sonoma Loeb Dignitary Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma. These were both excellent and smooth, however, ALL the wines that I taste tested were phenomenal. We also ordered the garlic fries, the buffalo chicken sandwich, and the Mushroom Arancini. I personally loved the Mushroom Arancini the most, very flavorful and perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken sandwich was a good portion and easy to share. The garlic fries did not taste very garlicy to me, the creamy sauce on top I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be garlic, but I probably would just get the regular fries next time. Don't forget to take your photo next to the Herzog wine barrels before you leave!

My friends and I decided to do the white wine tasting. I actually really liked the wine selection. They were really good. The only feedback I would give to potentially change.... There was no one there but my friends and I, and we had to keep pausing our conversation to go back inside to get our wine. And then we would lose track of where we were in the conversation. I wished we had like a flight so we could drink and not have to keep getting up. We all really enjoyed the cheeseboard with our wine. Some of the cheeses were delicious. I loved the pepperjam. I only wish it was a little bigger. I do love a good cheese board. I want to try some of the other food they offer as well. I will definitely go back again.

Two sisters (Elissa & Holly) married two brothers (Matt & Mike) and started this weekend project which has turned into quite a fun weekend escape. Elissa and her father, Walt, are usually manning the tasting room and are the most gracious hosts. It's a quaint, boutique winery and tasting room, which recently joined forces with the folks from Trois le Fou Winery. They each have their own tasting rooms, but they're joined and share a large production/barrel room area, which is also available for private events in addition to scheduled events and live music/comedy. They don't offer food, but you are welcome to bring in your own snacks/charcuterie. Parking is plentiful, as the business park is mostly closed on the weekends. WINES: Their wines change regularly, as they purchase their fruit from Paso Robles, Lodi, and San Antonio Valley, among other places. I think that their Sauvignon Blanc is a standard and we really enjoy it, but they also do a nice Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their "Speakeasy Wine Club" offers three levels of membership: "Blind Grape (6/yr)", "Bootlegger (12/yr)", and "Last Call (18/yr)", depending on the number of bottles you want per shipment/pick-up. Bottles currently run in the $38 - $50 range (before club member discounts). We love visiting the Lester Cellars family and highly recommend you stop in and check out their latest vintages. The service and wine are wonderful, and I'm betting you'll enjoy yourself as much as we do.

Back Patio Cellars feels like you've just meandered into Frank & Jen's backyard, and they invite you to stay awhile to try some cider/wine. This is definitely their passion project, and it shows in how they talk about their ciders/wine and enjoy sharing with people. It's located in a business park where they have what seems like a traditional tasting room with a few tables, a "living room" with comfortable seats and a couch surrounded by their barrels, and a "patio" outside with covered seating. We opted for a cider tasting, and as someone who was a little wary, because I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I was so excited to hear that their style is on the drier side. These hard ciders are dangerously good... refreshing, delicately flavored, and you wouldn't even know that they're packed with a high ABV. We tried the Apple, Black Berry Pie, Golden Kiwi, Guava, Blood Orange, and Key Lime. My favorite was the guava and my SO's was the Black Berry Pie. These are perfect for warm weather, and you can even take cans or growlers to go! As for food, there are some snacks available for purchase, and folks are welcome to bring their own snacks (uh, charcuterie plate, anyone?) except when there's a food truck. Jen mentioned that they don't have a cider club just yet, but they do have a wine club. We're definitely planning on coming back for a wine tasting very soon, see ya there!

WINES: Their wines are made in a Rhone and Bordeaux style with two club releases per year (Spring and Fall) with such varietals as Grenache, Mourvédre, Syrah, Petite Sirah, GSM blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Folle Cuvée blends, Merlot, and Merlot Reserve. They specialize in French varietals and produce great Bordeaux and Rhone style wines in addition to their Chardonnay. I personally enjoy all of their wines, but my very favorite is their 100% Mourvèdre. I love it, but also really enjoy their GSM, Bordeaux Blend, and Chardonnay. This winery was founded by three friends, Paul, Ada, and Tim who were crazy enough to start a winery as their second career. Therefore the name Trois Le Fou or the three fools in French. I don't think it was such a crazy idea since their wines are really good. The tasting room is not too big, but they also have a very nice barrel room with additional sitting were special events are hosted. Whenever we visit the tasting room we are always greeted by friendly faces and generous pours. Service and quality are constantly stellar at Trois Le Fou. The tasting room is located in a business park, so there is plenty of parking space. Another perk is that Lester shares their barrel room space with another boutique winery, Lester Family Cellars, so you can visit two wineries without leaving the premises! If you are in Ventura and you are looking for a great wine experience, visit Trois Le Fou. You will not be disappointed.
