We visited Old Creek Winery on a weekend, and overall it was just okay. The vineyard view is beautiful, but it was very hot and stuffy. I wish they had misters around the seating areas, especially since they already have them near the outdoor bar. The couch cushions also looked like they needed a good cleaning. My boyfriend and I tried the sparkling wine tasting four 1oz samples for a $30. The peach one was my favorite, but $30 for only 4 oz total feels very expensive when a whole bottle is around $35. We ended up getting a bottle and had to ask for an ice bucket because the wine wasn't cold enough. There are also almost no food options besides some overpriced snacks. Many people brought their own food, which I wish I had known before coming. The server seemed tired and didn't explain much about the wines unless we asked questions. Overall, nice views, but for the price and experience I can't give more than 3 stars. read more

Been here many times and it's definitely one of our favorites. However, this was our first visit in over a year and this experience just wasn't quite the same. Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings. read more

A beautiful winery with great outdoor seating, decent wine, and some fun outdoor games. If you can, would recommend reserving a trellis - good views and some privacy. It's bring your own food which is nice. Only thing is to not leave your food unattended as they will proactively toss it, even if it's a full loaf of bread. They have corn hole and bocce ball (though their corn hole bags due for a replacement). Service is nice and Carl very cheerful presence. read more

Finally became a member here because I just love this place! Karl is absolutely awesome and if you get to be on the receiving side of his service you won't be disappointed!! They have an incredible selection of wines, my favorite are the Sauvignon Blanc's from both last years harvest and a few years back! The Venu is stunning and you have just enough space between you and the next group, fun activities include corn hole, two large bachi ball sets and lots of livestock to view! My visit to Old Creek Ranch Winery was my first time at a winery and my first time doing wine tasting. The experience was nothing short of enjoyable and relaxing, and somewhere I would love to visit again (if only it were closer!) This is a great spot for a date night or for groups of friends to share a bottle or two right next to the vineyards. The property was beautiful this time of year and they even had goats (as pictured) and chickens near the front of the ranch. My only suggestion regarding the wine drinking would be to skip out on the wine tasting if you already have an idea of what bottles you enjoy, especially if you are on a budget since the tasting serving sizes are very small! read more

The winery is in a secluded setting but not far off of the main road. The staff is very friendly and once seated (outdoor grape vine-covered booth) the ambiance takes over. Very pretty view of vineyard and forest...but that's just the start. The wine is spectacular. Napa, Sonoma, Temecula, Santa Clara county...all have great wines however any of these places can be (have been) beat out easily by OCRW! The sauvignon blanc, pinot noir and merlot are tops to name but a few notable offerings. This is what a successful vineyard does-brings people back with great wines. Such a beautiful winery! The place is pretty sprawling with several seating areas to choose from. We sat overlooking the vineyards in a prime seating area, despite not having a reservation. They have a wine membership program, like so many of these places do nowadays, which made our tastings discounted from $30 to $6 a piece. None of the wine really stood out to me except for the El Camino - a red blend with syrah and grenache. The Albariño was also pretty good. They are dog friendly and offer small bites like chips and popcorn. Would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Normally when I go wine tasting, there's some wines that I don't like - I loved EVERYTHING on their wine flight! So good, such a nice transition to the next wine also. Smart plays. The service was quick and frequent which was appreciated. The land and sitting area - omg, BEAUTIFUL! I love how they strategically placed all the tables under shade or trees. No matter where you sat, you were comfortable. Just enough space to keep a conversation with your group and stay out the way of the others. The ONLY con - is there was no charcuterie board with how nice the establishment was I just knew there would be some good board selections. The snack boxes we ordered were good but a board would've set it over the top! I feel I'm in paradise whenever we come! Nestled in the canyon among the vineyards, oaks and other trees Lots of beautiful seating areas among trees and under vines. You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. They have water stations. You can do tasting flights, glasses or bottles. You pay as you go. You can reserve online for 2-3.5hr slots for bigger groups and the others are walk ins. Service is so friendly, there is plenty of parking. It's a perfect place to come sit and relax and enjoy the weather and wine. They have goats! They don't sell food. So bring your own! Check the website for all of their options for reservations and any other questions. I personally don't think the membership is worth it unless you are planning to take bottles home. It's only 10% discount on bottles and tastings. 50% off bottles to take home. They don't offer discount on reservations or anything else. And make sure to sign up for membership before coming otherwise you cannot get discounts. read more

I've been to this winery a few times and it's become my favorite! It's very secluded and the area around is stunning. There is so much space and everytime I've been there it's not that crowded. They have great wine and a relaxing atmosphere. I wanted to give a special thanks to the staff (I think their names were Carl and Henry) for hosting my sister's engagement this past weekend. This little winery was so cute! Came here at 4pm on a February Saturday & it was bumping. We didn't make a reservation since it was only an hour before they closed and we were able to get a seat right away. I would probably recommend making one, if you wanted to come during the middle of the day on the weekend and especially if you had a party larger than 4. They have waiters that come to your table to serve you. Since they were busy, it did take a little longer to get a drink since they only had 2 waiters who could take orders on the entire property. They had a food vender who was making fire stone pizzas but unfortunately they were all sold out by time we came. They didn't sell any other food on site which was a bummer. My friend got the flight of 6 wines for $30 and I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for $15. The flight was 2 whites and 4 reds so if you like reds then the flight is the best option to go with. The sauvignon blanc was good so I ended up getting a bottle for $35. Overall the winery was a fun and cozy vibe so definitely would come back. read more

This is a beautiful and peaceful location. The trellis seating is somewhat private so you can enjoy your wine and relax, while taking in a view of the vineyard and hills. There ARE bees that fly around you constantly but as long as you ignore them they really don't do anything. If you have pizza delivered though I assume they'd be more of a bother (you can order pizza be delivered from a local restaurant). Our favorite of the 6 tastings was the Cabernet Sauvignon. I am no stranger to wine tasting. The wines were average and way over priced. We had a lovely greeting and the place was beautiful. We were looking for a couple of bottles of wine for our dinner later. Unfortunately we left with zero wines and minus $60 for tasting for TWO! We had to pay upfront. They did not give any info on the winery. We had to read a paper about the individual wines notes. Once they got your money they were on to the next new customer. Definitely the worst wine I have tasted at that price range. I've had better in the $20 dollar range of wines. I got the impression from notes that they didn't even produce wine there. Learned lesson is don't go wine tasting in Ojai. read more

We were seated at a very nice table with great views. Service was friendly, though admittedly a little spotty at times. I think they had mentioned they were short-staffed that day, which is more than understandable. Overall, I thought the wines were good.
