The Throwback Thursday food truck festivals are hosted at the Camarillo Ranch in the summers once a month and have almost any type of food options your family could want. The atmosphere is very lively and friendly, lots of space to set up a picnic. The food truck selections were good, maybe a dozen options. There could be a few more because the lines at 7pm were pretty long. The food is tasty and unique and there is also good entertainment and live music. Highly recommend this event if you are in the area and don't want to cook dinner on a Thursday night. read more

This was our dream venue. Out of the 8 venues we toured, this one checked all the boxes, and then some. The grounds are stunning, and my husband and I just felt at peace here. We plan to visit every year on our anniversary. They have a gorgeous bridal suite inside the mansion, and a huge grooms suite in the barn. The grooms suite came complete with mini fridge, pool table, barber chair, and poker table. I do wish the bridal suite was a little bigger, as we definitely could've used the space to spread out our stuff, but it had so much charm and character that I didn't really care. It also had a view of the gazebo, which was nice. Molly and her assistant, Lindy, were amazing as well. Lindy was especially helpful with my 9 year old son. She kept an eye on him the entire time for me. He loved her so much, he even tried to give her a $5 tip!! The barn was perfect for our reception, and our guests raved about the food. Everything was so beautiful, we couldn't have been happier. We even added a brick with our names to the pathway in front of the gazebo. This venue has so much to offer, you won't find a better location. Our toughest request was that we needed a venue that could allow a live band to go all night, and this was the only location that allowed it. Most venues are surrounded by houses and have a pesky noise ordinance, but the Camarillo Ranch is only surrounded by businesses, so it was perfect! read more

The Camarillo Ranch is the jewel in the Camarillo crown. This historic mansion with serene, park-like grounds is a slice of the countryside in the growing bedroom community. The large, white Queen Anne-style mansion and estate grounds was built in 1892 by Adolfo Camarillo (the town is named for him) as a gift of love for his beloved wife Isabella. The victorian home sits on an expansive 4.5 acres with a barn and stables that were restored by the city in 2001. Guests can tour the ranch's original stables, stroll through the beautiful gardens and tour the mansion. The ranch offers community events such as Food Truck Rallies on the last Thursday of the month. Visit their website for more information including events and hours. There is on-street parking along with limited on site parking. Weddings are popular here. Unfortunately, I do not recommend a wedding here. Yes, Kaley Cuoco from Big Bang Theory got married here. (She was born in Camarillo.) When I got married, we scheduled an appointment to tour the property. We arrived early on that Saturday morning to a closed ranch with not a single human in sight. I called the number for the mansion and it went to a voicemail. Despite three voicemails, I was never called back nor did I ever receive any acknowledgement of the mistake. If you have some free time in Camarillo, stop by Camarillo Ranch and tour the historic house and grounds. Adolfo Camarillo built up his father's property and farms, at one point becoming the largest bean farmer in world. I was lucky enough to come here for a wedding. The marriage ceremony was performed outside in the backyard of the house (West Garden) and the reception is held in the refurbished and modernized barn. In the middle of summer during a heat wave, surprisingly, the outdoor ceremony and following reception were not as hot as I thought it would be. The barn does not have air conditioning, but does have ceiling fans and stays decently cool since there aren't windows to let the light and warm sun rays in. We did not get to tour the seven bedroom Queen Anne style house (which housed Adolfo's family of 14 children), but we did walk the grounds and gardens. There is a Moreton Bay Fig tree in the back corner that is over 100 years old and is ridiculously huge. I have a picture of me standing in front of the tree and I'm only one inch tall. The tree must be at least 150 ft tall! The large trees and flowers on the grounds are all impressive and beautiful. Luckily, the grounds are open daily 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and are free to the public. House tours are Saturday-Monday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a small suggested donation. I cannot speak for how it was working with the event coordinators, but from my experience as an attendee, the wedding ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. The caterers were constantly refilling our waters and clearing our empty plates. If you were looking for a very classy barn to house a wedding, event or company party north of Los Angeles, Camarillo Ranch is a gorgeous venue. I've been here for a few events and always have a great time. One of which is the Throwback Thursday food truck event. Last year I was lucky enough to win tickets to the Best of the 805 event. My friend's dad celebrated his 65th birthday yesterday and the party was held here. It was a successful event and we had a grand time. The party started outside behind the house then moved to the barn for the dinner portion. The setup and decoration was well done. The inside of the barn was awesome. I didn't get to interact much with their staff since it was a private event. The ground is very spacious and well kept. Big ups to whoever does their gardening because it looks beautiful. The whole place has no bad angle. We pretty much spent a good portion of the night taking so many photos. Big thanks to the organizer of the event. Carrie and her team did a great job. They even moved our cars that were parked on the premises to the street since none of us were in the condition to drive. You'll get a $200 ticket if you leave your car parked inside. read more

I came to Camarillo Ranch for a friend's wedding. Visually, this venue is a stunning place to hold a wedding. The ceremony was outside on the vast lawn in front of a beautiful, giant (I think) Oak tree. It was simple and elegant. After the ceremony, we moved into the outdoor courtyard for drinks and appetizers - again, a beautiful layout surrounded by towering trees, a gazebo, the old Manor House, and a fountain. Finally, dinner and dancing took place in the barn. The layout was perfect and the decor was whimsical. But my biggest qualm throughout the entire thing was the lack of air flow. Obviously, outdoors the temperature cannot be controlled (and Camarillo was having a heat wave the day of the wedding). But inside the barn was sweltering, even as the sun went down. The tiny ceiling fans in the barn did nothing to circulate the air and everyone was sweating profusely. I have never been so sweaty and sticky and uncomfortable at a wedding - and it really deterred from the mood/atmosphere, despite the glasses of iced water and wine I consumed to offset the heat. Just a simple venue suggestion: box fans or oscillating fans in the corners of the barn to get some airflow. Everything else was magical. read more

I got in contact with them via email about scheduling a tour with them for 12pm, which they confirmed along with sending us info on their wedding packages. I also mentioned that we would be driving from out of town and might get there early, but would call them if we're early. Their quick response is where they get the extra star from. After driving for over an hour and a half, we made it a bit early and gave her a call (we were a little over 20 minutes early). She told us to park in the street and she would meet us at the gate. We stood out there for some time, thinking she was going to head out any minute. 20 minutes passed, then 30 minutes passed. By 12:15, we had been out there for close to 40 minutes with no call back or no one coming outside. And it didn't look like anyone was getting a tour before us, so we waited for nothing. Not once did they call back to let us know what's going on. We even figured that maybe if we were at the wrong gate entrance, she would still be able to see us? But didn't see anyone come out of the building the whole time we waited. We had other venues to look at in the area and decided not to wait any longer, and headed out to the next venue we planned to look at (which was a much better experience). If this is how they handle a simple scheduled tour, I really don't know how they would handle our event. We drove so far to see this place, only to be treated as if our time really didn't matter. read more

We got married here, with 200 plus guests and overall it was a wonderful experience. The gorgeous venue made for a magical evening, everything about the look of the place was perfect. We used the barn for reception, the front lawn for the ceremony and the Gazebo area for cocktails. The paved path around the front lawn was utilized for an amazing Baraat (Indian groom's processional ceremony). Totally seamless experience for us and the guests! Jasmine & staff were very helpful and responded quickly to any inquiries, really easy to work with. They have a terrific brand new bridal suite, the house itself was a lot of fun to take pictures in. The barn was perfect for reception as in early March it got a bit cold at night. The only "downside" is that Camarillo and the Ranch have a lot of restrictions that force workarounds. Ultimately, it's understandable that they need to preserve this historic place, and there was nothing that ruined the magic of the evening, but a couple surprised us in the final weeks. Here are some you should really consider to make sure it fits your needs. 1) They require liability insurance from all vendors, there was a couple of vendors that we had to foot the bill on liability insurance on at $200 a pop. It's all workable but just be aware that you get vendors that have their own insurance and can supply a cert. So be really careful about having friends/guests do certain jobs if you're working on a budget. 2) No candles, no sparklers. In the end, we used blue glow sticks for our grand exit and LED candles, and it worked really well for us. But initially it was a touch frustrating. 3) If you have any special/unique requests get on it way in advance. We wanted to have an aerial silk artist friend of ours perform but it was too late to get it approved, insurance, etc. This one is more on us than on them, but it did seem like it wouldn't be that big of deal before we booked as we were told it would be doable, and then ultimately there were a lot of obstacles to make it happen, so I wished we started the process earlier. 4) No grooms suite on the premises, so I had to base my groomsmen and myself out of the hotel (again not a big deal, we moved into Institution Ale beforehand as well, which a great staging area right across the street with micro-brew beer and flatbread pizzas). 5) Live Music has to end at 10pm, DJ'd music ends at 11pm. 6) They do not provide Wi-Fi access at this time. So that was frustrating for our photobooth vendor as they had hoped to be able to provide instant photos to our guests online but were unable to do so without Wi-Fi I highly recommend DJ's Catering as a preferred vendor, as they were an absolute dream to work with. Super organized, know the venue well, great food. Overall, the spot was fantastic! Get married already! read more

II'm a little hesitant to give this place three stars because I didn't feel welcome when the Fiance and I toured the place as a potential wedding venue. The "Ranch" is the preserved Victorian mansion and estate of the founder of Camarillo which is really neat. We took a quick tour of the house and it's really cool to see the dolls and clothes and kitchen. While the majority of the house is off-limits to guests, a small hors d'oeuvres room is made available. The ceremony is held by a small gazebo on the side lawn and the reception is held on the much wider lawn in front of the house. It's kind of nice to have the cute Victorian house as the backdrop to the reception and people like to string market lights above the tables. Alternatively, you can choose to have your reception in the Barn (which is really a barn). It has tall ceilings but very little could disguise the fact that it's a barn. I've seen photographs of barn weddings and I was finding it hard to imagine that THIS barn could be made to look nice without a lot of work on my part. The coordinator we worked with wasn't particularly friendly. She wasn't rude but kind of brusque, something I wasn't used to given that I was trying to decide whether or not to pay a rather large sum of money to have one of the most important events of my life at her venue. For 2009/2010, the barn reception was $3,500 including 5 hours of event time on a Saturday, 8 total hours of site use, choice of garden venue for the ceremony, use of grounds and mansion for photography, use of bridal room and use of the barn's kitchen facilities for caterers. For a lawn reception, the cost is $3,000 for the same inclusions as above. The garden ceremony (with gazebo) will run you $850 including an hour event time, 3 hours of garden use, choice of time block between 8-4 and use of the bridal room. Fridays and Sundays will cost you $500 less and events booked from 8am-4 pm also receive the same discount. Extras include a $500 cocktail hour in the mansion which includes one hour first floor access for guests to mingle and tour and 3 hours total use. These prices do not reflect equipment rentals (tables, chairs, audio/visual) or food. They have a list of preferred vendors as well. read more

Just had my wedding on Sunday at Camarillo Ranch. I searched high and low for a place in LA or Orange County for a venue I could have all to myself, would have indoor or outdoor dependent on weather, and have Lucille's BBQ grill on site. This was the only place I could find, and I prayed with it being pretty far from home that I wouldn't have any regrets. I didn't! Everything was perfect! I started working with Marissa, then it switched to Jasmine. No big deal, both were lovely to deal with. I asked a lot of questions, and never felt ignored or that I was being an annoyance (which I sure I probably was...but hey, you only get married once.) I made bi-weekly payments, which must have drove them crazy, but was easier on me...the whole thing went smooth. Bringing in my own caterer and the value in the rental of Camarillo Ranch was more economical then most all-inclusive locations. I believe some pricing has changed, but at my time, I felt it was a worthy investment...knowing now how perfect everything went, I would have paid more. The location is stunning, the staff was lovely, and we had 0 issues. I would recommend this place to everyone. Everywhere you turn is a photo op. We hardly added any decor, and it was stunning. Everything from the initial phone call to reserving, to cleaning up at the end of the night went smoothly. I loved it..and it is worth every dollar! read more

Apparently, the woman that they met with was as rude as any person on the street could be, much less someone you'd trust your wedding to. Despite the fact that this property is in between two hideous industrial parks, they still wanted to take a look at it just in case it was the right vibe... And then they met the b@@ch. So if anybody's reading this review and considering going down there to look at it, do not. I repeat, do not. It's location and the way it's run make it undesirable. I absolutely love our local Camarillo Ranch house! First of all, the Camarillo Ranch property itself is a masterpiece! My family and I toured the home and the docents provided so many detail and funny antidotes. We also have enjoyed numerous events in the numerous event area the site provides including two garden areas filled with flowers and manicured paths, large events on the grand front lawn or in the rustic barn. I highly recommend this venue for corporate and special events, and weddings. read more

Christmas event was so BORING! This was false advertising at its best. Talk about an event that could really generate money during Christmas by creating a wonderful event for local communities to attend. Unless you plan on standing in a ridiculously long line (100 people deep) to see Santa there is literally nothing else there. There is one little stand for over priced cocoa and sugar cookies. The house is beautiful, but the tour is targeted for a much older crowd especially when little ones are there for Christmas festivities. The Christmas Caroler's were tucked away in a small room in the house which makes no sense at an event that has hundreds of people attending. OVERALL- it was a BUST! read more

My poor niece who is just starting out in life, needed to cancel / postpone the wedding and gave them plenty of notice for whatever reason they kept her $3500.00 like if it was there money. 8 months notice and I'll bet if you check the books they rebooked it. I will start off by saying that overall I loved Camarillo Ranch - it is absolutely gorgeous & really was exactly what we were looking for. However, being a historic landmark there were a lot of rules. Some of these we were told about in advance of booking & others not - so my point of this review is to inform potential brides. I would book the venue again but I would have liked to know all of the rules ahead of time. Pros - Jasmine, the event manager, was great to work with! Super helpful! You get the venue for the entire day (but there may be public tours of the house until 3pm - we were not told this in advance). The setting around the property is gorgeous - makes for the best photos. We has our ceremony in front of the large fig tree and it was absolutely gorgeous. The barn is so perfect for a reception & helps ease worries of potential rain. You can pick your own vendors (if you don't pick from their exclusive list of caterers, bartenders or rentals then you need to pay a $500 buy out). Cons - All vendors need to have a Camarillo Business Tax License & if they don't already they need to apply with city hall and pay for one. Some of our vendors were not too happy about this when they learned - for example, our florist had a business tax license in Thousand Oaks so she didn't really want to get one in Camarillo. Especially since she was only stepping foot on the property to drop off flowers. But there were no exceptions to this rule. This was a major pain to coordinate with all of my vendors. You & your vendors all need liability insurance (true of many venues but just a heads up). Need to hire 1 security guard for every 50 people if serving alcohol (really adds up $$$). No sparklers/open flames. When touring the venue we were told we could utilize any of the wine barrels they had on property so we were relying on these for our cocktail tables & ceremony decorations...as we approached the wedding date I mentioned this to the venue & they told me their rules had changed & we couldn't move them from the barn area. We ended up having to rent a bunch of cocktail tables & wine barrels at the last minute. This seemed crazy to us - paying $6,500 for a venue & not being able to use their super old wine barrels that were just sitting around. We were also told that the bridal suite didn't have good electrical so we should plan on getting ready off site. Because of this, I booked a hotel room for the night before. When we showed up on the wedding day we come to find out that the bridal suite had been completely re-done & brides get ready in there all of the time. I was pretty disappointed that I hadn't been informed of the change b/c we would have been able to save money on the hotel room & would have gotten some great photos of us getting ready in the adorable suite (definitely a positive for future brides - the room is super cute!) For spacing reference - They say the barn will fit up to 250 w/ a dance floor - In my opinion that's doable with a SMALL dance floor only. In the barn - we had 200 people, a large dance floor, DJ, photobooth, & dessert bar. We had to put our buffet line & bar on the patio outside the barn, which worked great. Any more people & it would have been too crowded w/ the dance floor size we wanted (which was FULL all night). Overall, the venue was amazing & we had a perfect day!! I photographed a wedding there a couple of months ago. The wedding coordinator, and employees were all rude. They moved my equipment without asking and lost my filters after they had moved them. They made my clients feel uncomfortable, they were lazy and were basically hiding from vendors. It was just a horrible and unprofessional. Which is a shame because the venue is stunning and I would love to photograph a wedding there again. I would give my clients a heads up about this place. My clients also complained about their services. Get someone who wants to work there and make the bride and groom's wedding day memorable. read more

We got married here June '14. I have mixed feelings about this place. So my recommendation to anyone looking to use this venue for a wedding would be to make sure you read the contract thoroughly (the new contracts are much more helpful, btw). I am hopeful that the new staff will do a great job (they were courteous), but during the time I was preparing for our wedding, the staff was going through a "transition" period and I felt like anytime I had to contact them about a simple question, it always ended with me being frustrated. Five stars for the venue itself: gorgeous restored Victorian home, lovely West Garden, expansive grassy areas with a fig tree that I fell in love with, fun big red barn. The venue speaks for itself. I had no idea where or what type of wedding I would want, until I came across Camarillo Ranch. It had a lovely outdoor, fancy backyard gathering feel with convenient access for our guests. My fiance and I had visited numerous outdoor venues throughout Ventura/LA/OC/SD county. Most of the venues were on the small side for our guest count of 250-300. And the couple of places we were considering in Malibu were just too far from the freeway (we were worried about our older guests driving home at night in nearly pitch black darkness on a winding road). On the day of, no issues with the Ranch staff rep that was on-site that day. Our guests enjoyed being able to explore the historic house during cocktail hour. Sadly, one star for staff/service (maybe 1.5 for effort). If there are major changes to a policy, I feel it is the responsibility of the venue to contact their clients. The response I was given was "the changes have been posted on our website". I don't know anyone that would peruse a venue's website on a daily basis looking for updates! Sparklers and open flame tea lights were no longer allowed due to fire regulations (which would have been understandable). Had I not mentioned it in passing over the phone, I would not have been aware of the new regulations. If they really cared about their gorgeous venue, they could have easily sent out an email or letter re: any updates. I should give them credit, that they did send out a letter about their change in security deposit policy (they basically said they need the money up-front now instead). =P When we toured the venue, we were told that we could come early to set up. Then a couple days later when I went to book the venue I was told "things have changed"; but that if there was no other event that day "it should be fine" to come in the morning to set up. We had seen multiple weddings set up on other weekends when we were in the area; a couple of times, the family even let us take a look at all their lovely set up! We had even "added on" a couple hours to our 4pm start time to hopefully deter any other lunch time event from occurring that same day. My fam is pretty crafty and I was willing to DIY if I could save a little money, but I ended up purchasing even more time (so much for saving money) because they stated we could no longer come in the morning unless we purchased additional site time. (I don't believe this should be a problem now as I believe the site rental is now by the "day"). They semi-double-booked our rehearsal time. They stated there is no guarantee when you book your rehearsal time, "not until you fill out your event planner sheet 3 months prior". We thought we "booked" the rehearsal time when we signed our contract 18 months ago (the rehearsal time was written on the contract)?! Keep in mind the "event planner sheet" is due 3 months prior to your wedding, so essentially the wedding the day before ours would likely have turned in their sheet 1 day prior to us turning in ours. So if that is still the case, I recommend you turn in your "planner sheet" with your rehearsal date/time when you book the venue. When we booked the venue, there was no such thing as "preferred vendors" (you could basically use whoever you wanted, which I am glad will still had that option come our wedding day). I happened to contact some of the preferred vendors for quotes/estimates and one of them stated, "oh, just double check with the Ranch to see if that is ok" and I was very disappointed when the response from the Ranch was "oh, don't worry, they are one of our preferred vendors, so 'they will know'". Obviously they don't know, hence the reason why I needed to spend my time contacting you. When I looked at their re-vamped brochures and contract, everything looks much more organized, so hopefully both the venue and clients will all be on the same page for their future events. Otherwise, it will be such a shame for a beautiful venue and historic site. read more

Checked this place out to have a wedding reception in the Big Red Barn. Very Cool place with a real neat old house built in the early 1900's lots of great places around the property to take photos. My only problem with it is that there were a lot of commercial buildings in the area and it made it seem really out of place. To rent the Bran was really expensive too close to $4000 for 8 hours, not including tables or chairs. This place was a neat place to look at but that was about it, just a neat place to look at. read more

Just had my wedding here last month and it was great! I read the other reviews after I had already booked the place and I got really scared but it's under new ownership so I think in time the ratings will get better. Actually I don't think their past ratings are hurting them anyway since they are booked for the foreseeable future. When I first booked the place the management had just changed so I could tell that there was a lot of change happening. This was promising since the older reviews were not good. Everyone I worked with was helpful, responsive and friendly. The venue is beautiful and really doesn't need much decorating at all which is one of the reasons why I chose it, that, and because you can have food trucks (which I didn't end up using in the end, sadly). I give it 4 stars though because I really don't like the way they make you pay for extra hours. You pay $3500 (depending on your package) for 8 hours but you need set up time and you need one hour for take down so you're really only getting the bare minimum amount of time needed for the wedding so you end up paying more for the "extra" though very necessary time for your vendors. They say that once you book a day for your wedding there are no other weddings on that day, in which case, why don't they just let you have the whole day? Why can't the vendors just come in earlier whenever they need to if that day is set aside for only your wedding anyway? I felt they were nickel and diming us in that respect. Though, I was fully aware of these charges, I still chose this place. They were never cunning or secretive about these extra charges which I do very much appreciate. No hidden fees, just a more than I'd like. On the other hand, it's a historical landmark so they need to make their money somehow. All in all, I loved it, everyone that attended my wedding loved it, my now husband loved it, so it was worth it. Other concerns I had that didn't end up being an issue: Would it be too hot in the barn? Nope. Camarillo is fairly temperate and it was perfect on my wedding day (late May). Would it fit everyone? It fit 115 people for my wedding and I'm sure it can fit more than that. They recommended a local vendor for lighting: Wendees Occasions. It's just one older gentleman that isn't always super fast to respond to email but he did a great job and I didn't have to micromanage. His prices were very good too! read more

I got married on 5/5/17, and up until today I'm still getting feedback from our guests on how beautiful our venue was! From the moment I toured the premises I knew this place would make any wedding look beautiful, plus the barn gives it a nice rustic touch, and a fun place to have a reception. The ranch is well maintained, the victorian house makes for beautiful wedding pictures, and the gazebo for a nice ceremony without much decor required (too much natural beauty around it). The staff, Jasmine and Gloria were also great! They were always quick to respond to all of my questions and always very courteous. They are on top of their game and truly ensure all of their clients are satisfied. They have a list for preferred vendors and at first i was a bit hesitant about this, but I ended up using most of them and they were truly the best! I really don't have a con to this review. All i can say is that keep in mind that this is a non-profit historic foundation. They may be a bit more strict on their guidelines, and you also have to ensure all vendors have their own insurance. Plan ahead and always may inquiries with them ahead of time. Don't risk making any last minute big decision. But do alway reach out for clarification and assistance, they are easy to get a hold of. Trust me, if you keep this in mind and plan well, your wedding day will be very much talked about because it will be BEAUTIFUL!! Gorgeous venue! Had a great experience for my daughters wedding - staff was great and very helpful prior to and on the day of the wedding!! What I love most about this venue is that you get the grounds for the entire day with no other events taking place during that day...It was wonderful to be able to do different things in different areas - ceremony on the spacious lawn, cocktail hour at the gazebo, and reception in the barn !! read more

I've worked at the Camarillo ranch many times and I can only say good things about the property and staff. The Camarillo Ranch is a beautiful venue with lots of opportunity for any type of event. The red barn is perfect for weddings 250 people or under, and the front lawn can hold hundreds of people. The property is beautiful and has a lot of great areas for photography. It's a great venue to hold events any time of the year because it does have indoor and outdoor options. Every time I have worked with the Camarillo Ranch staff they have always been helpful, informative, and flexible. Their new contract is great and is very accommodating to anyone renting the property. They only host one event a day their so you really feel like you have the huge property to yourself. I would highly recommend hosting your next event at the Camarillo Ranch. read more

We booked the ranch for our wedding day and I can't tell you how many of our guests came up to us & told us how awesome the venue was! When my "now" husband and I took a tour of the site, we fell in love and didn't need to look anywhere else. It was perfect in so many ways! The space is so large that the opportunities are endless. We used the whole venue. Our ceremony was held on the East Lawn with the gorgeous gazebo as a backdrop. My bridesmaids, flower girls and I got ready in the bridal suite within the Victorian home which was soooo cute and beautifully decorated! We were able to safely keep our personal belongings in the suite during the ceremony & reception by having one of the Staff Members lock up the room. That was a big plus! The West & Front Lawn we used for cocktail hour and because of how much space there is, we were able to have lawn games like corn hole, can jam, and others for all of our guests to enjoy. The big red barn is where we had our reception and it was truly magical! So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I'm positive having it at the Ranch played a big part in that! Jasmine, the event manager I was in contact with during the whole planning process was always so sweet, clear, and prompt. She even left me a nice personal note in my bridal suite on my wedding day and it really meant a lot. We got married here in July 2018 and we were so happy with the venue! This venue has that rustic charming storybook feel without all of the issues of really remote venues (they have real bathrooms, floors, fans & amenities). The staff was great and were flexible in letting us stop by a few times before the big day. There are so many options with this venue - multiple outdoor locations, beautiful & cozy & spacious indoor barn, great spots for photos & a charming Victorian house. I had 166 guests and it was the perfect venue for that size. The only thing that went wrong was an unexpected heat wave but that was the one thing we couldn't control! The main lawn was exactly what I dreamed for my ceremony & the barn was perfect for the reception, we had 18 tables, a bar, dessert bar & a big enough dance floor and it was perfect. They also had a great space for cocktail hour. Having a wedding in Ventura County was great, the wedding industry is a big focus and it shows in how amazing all of the vendors were! I do wish the venue came with more as it really comes as a blank slate for you to design (wish I didn't have to rent tables & chairs) but in the end it was worth it, we got exactly what we wanted & the venue rental price can't be beat! My sister had her wedding here a little less than a month ago. I will start off by saying that the wedding turned out beautiful and everyone was very happy with the outcome. The reason I decided to give the location a three star rating is because of the behavior of the staff. I understand that this a historic landmark and for that there a lot of rules, which we did respect. But the staff was extremely rude to my entire family. I have never been that disrespected before and I was definitely not expecting it on the day of my sisters wedding. There's already enough stress and anxiousness that comes with having your sister get married and the staff at the Camarillo ranch house was just making it worse. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the main woman that was being the rudest but I really hope someone does because no one should be treated the way she treated us especially not during a wedding. read more
