This was our dream venue. Out of the 8 venues we toured, this one checked all the boxes, and then some. The grounds are stunning, and my husband and I just felt at peace here. We plan to visit every year on our anniversary. They have a gorgeous bridal suite inside the mansion, and a huge grooms suite in the barn. The grooms suite came complete with mini fridge, pool table, barber chair, and poker table. I do wish the bridal suite was a little bigger, as we definitely could've used the space to spread out our stuff, but it had so much charm and character that I didn't really care. It also had a view of the gazebo, which was nice. Molly and her assistant, Lindy, were amazing as well. Lindy was especially helpful with my 9 year old son. She kept an eye on him the entire time for me. He loved her so much, he even tried to give her a $5 tip!! The barn was perfect for our reception, and our guests raved about the food. Everything was so beautiful, we couldn't have been happier. We even added a brick with our names to the pathway in front of the gazebo. This venue has so much to offer, you won't find a better location. Our toughest request was that we needed a venue that could allow a live band to go all night, and this was the only location that allowed it. Most venues are surrounded by houses and have a pesky noise ordinance, but the Camarillo Ranch is only surrounded by businesses, so it was perfect!

The Camarillo Ranch is the jewel in the Camarillo crown. This historic mansion with serene, park-like grounds is a slice of the countryside in the growing bedroom community. The large, white Queen Anne-style mansion and estate grounds was built in 1892 by Adolfo Camarillo (the town is named for him) as a gift of love for his beloved wife Isabella. The victorian home sits on an expansive 4.5 acres with a barn and stables that were restored by the city in 2001. Guests can tour the ranch's original stables, stroll through the beautiful gardens and tour the mansion. The ranch offers community events such as Food Truck Rallies on the last Thursday of the month. Visit their website for more information including events and hours. There is on-street parking along with limited on site parking. Weddings are popular here. Unfortunately, I do not recommend a wedding here. Yes, Kaley Cuoco from Big Bang Theory got married here. (She was born in Camarillo.) When I got married, we scheduled an appointment to tour the property. We arrived early on that Saturday morning to a closed ranch with not a single human in sight. I called the number for the mansion and it went to a voicemail. Despite three voicemails, I was never called back nor did I ever receive any acknowledgement of the mistake. We happily got married somewhere else.

If you have some free time in Camarillo, stop by Camarillo Ranch and tour the historic house and grounds. Adolfo Camarillo built up his father's property and farms, at one point becoming the largest bean farmer in world. I was lucky enough to come here for a wedding. The marriage ceremony was performed outside in the backyard of the house (West Garden) and the reception is held in the refurbished and modernized barn. In the middle of summer during a heat wave, surprisingly, the outdoor ceremony and following reception were not as hot as I thought it would be. The barn does not have air conditioning, but does have ceiling fans and stays decently cool since there aren't windows to let the light and warm sun rays in. We did not get to tour the seven bedroom Queen Anne style house (which housed Adolfo's family of 14 children), but we did walk the grounds and gardens. There is a Moreton Bay Fig tree in the back corner that is over 100 years old and is ridiculously huge. I have a picture of me standing in front of the tree and I'm only one inch tall. The tree must be at least 150 ft tall! The large trees and flowers on the grounds are all impressive and beautiful. Luckily, the grounds are open daily 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and are free to the public. House tours are Saturday-Monday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a small suggested donation. I cannot speak for how it was working with the event coordinators, but from my experience as an attendee, the wedding ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. The caterers were constantly refilling our waters and clearing our empty plates. If you were looking for a very classy barn to house a wedding, event or company party north of Los Angeles, Camarillo Ranch is a gorgeous venue. Best of all... there was no horse poop smell!

I've been here for a few events and always have a great time. One of which is the Throwback Thursday food truck event. Last year I was lucky enough to win tickets to the Best of the 805 event. My friend's dad celebrated his 65th birthday yesterday and the party was held here. It was a successful event and we had a grand time. The party started outside behind the house then moved to the barn for the dinner portion. The setup and decoration was well done. The inside of the barn was awesome. I didn't get to interact much with their staff since it was a private event. The ground is very spacious and well kept. Big ups to whoever does their gardening because it looks beautiful. The whole place has no bad angle. We pretty much spent a good portion of the night taking so many photos. Big thanks to the organizer of the event. Carrie and her team did a great job. They even moved our cars that were parked on the premises to the street since none of us were in the condition to drive. You'll get a $200 ticket if you leave your car parked inside.

Camarillo ranch house. I have to go back for a tour. Very nice

This place is something else. When we arrived, the grounds were beautiful, every detail was taken care of so we were comfortable. We have to go back.

We ordered a Gobo from our DJ...looked incredible illuminated on the barn!

However, when my next daughter, FSIL and I started looking at venues...I kept thing about Maravilla, as I knew it was exactly what they were looking for. We talked about the past experience her sister and I had, and so at first did not want to consider the venue. But-I thought-maybe Jenn had a bad day the last time we were there-and we opted to give the venue a chance. I am glad we did. Jenn was very friendly, accommodating and informative. It was as if I was meeting a completely different person. My daughter's wedding here was in October-and it was absolutely wonderful. The venue is just gorgeous, the grounds are meticulously kept-and without a doubt the wedding coordinator Mel that is part of the package at Maravilla was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She made my daughter's day stress free and perfect. She kept everything on schedule and handled every/any issue that came up immediately. The Glam house is fantastic-but I do not like that they boot you out several hours before the event and give you a miniscule trailer for the bridal party. Only a few of our 7 people could fit in the trainer room at one time, there was only 2 seats. And we had to move all of our things there while we were only half ready. The food was very good, however we were forced to use their one caterer (Command Performance)...and while every other caterer offers a free tasting for up to 4 guests- Command Performance told us that since they were our only option, they would not do a 'free tasting' but would 'agree' to one for us @ $300 for the couple and $150 per additional person. The real rub was when my friend's son got married at the Gerry- you can choose your caterer from a list. And Command Performance is on that list-and they got free tastings. When we brought that to his attention, he said-"well they have choices of caters, so in that case, we will give free tastings". Pros: Beautiful setting Excellent parking Secure location Easy access Grounds are meticulously kept Fantastic support staff Coordinator Mel Glam room/house Lots of prop choices from her 'barn' Cons: Limited time in the glam house Extremely small trailer room for the bridal party after glam room Forced to use from their limited vendors/lack of competition allows them to take advantage of you Seems like many standard items have an 'extra' charge

I recently got back into collecting Pokemon cards and I'm so glad I stumbled across Zander's Game House in Camarillo. Story time: it was my buddy's 32nd birthday. I'm doing Sober October (so no booze for now), and I've been replacing that with video games and Pokemon collecting. So, we spent the day cruising the 805, hitting every card shop we could find -- and what a score to find Zander's open until 10PM, selling packs close to list price with purchase limits to keep things fair. That alone made me a fan. But what sealed it was the customer service. Jeanne S. went above and beyond -- from setting packs aside for me when I called or messaged, to inviting me into their Discord community. Every interaction has been genuinely welcoming. The shop's always got great energy -- D&D campaigns, Magic: The Gathering matches, and people just hanging out enjoying the hobby. These are my people: nerds, enthusiasts, and lovers of all things Zander's. We were checking out their collection of exotic birds at the time. We tried to take our granddaughter somewhat recently and caught them on a day when they were hosting an event, so we didn't stay. Thankfully, the Camarillo Garden Tour featured this charming venue as one of their featured gardens in this year's event. It was fascinating to see how the property has evolved since we last spent time there. They have definitely made their primary space into a wedding venue haven with multiple garden "rooms", and a gathering space with dance floor and refreshments areas for the reception part of the special occasion. There is a small formal rose garden near the entrance for a welcoming space. The parrots and other tropical birds are no longer there, which is a shame from our perspective. I can imagine that they might be distracting for the wedding events, so there is a sense to moving on with retiring that aspect of the gardens. The owners were very gracious to have their lovely place serve as the spot where refreshments were served as part of the tour, plus the opportunity drawing prizes were displayed there, a small boutique, and a live band played to entertain the garden tour guests. We enjoyed lingering for a while. We also explored all of the main areas of the property. Delightful! The gardens have matured beautifully over the years, and the added artistic touches of lighting, stamped pathways with leaf shapes, and other charming elements speak well of the creative vision that brought this space to life.

I came for a gala event over the weekend where they rented this space and was excited to check it out. There is plenty of parking as they have their own lot and we also were fine with parking across the street in the free two hour parking spots. The art center is small but a great way to see local art and pottery. They do have single stalls bathrooms inside the studio which is appreciated. It also looked like in one room they had jewelry for sale but I didn't give it a proper look as I was more focused on the artwork and decor. The reason for the docked star is simply because we wandered in as a part of an event that had rented the space and thus there wasn't a whole lot of art on display. What appeared to be up is their around the year collectibles and some small art work pieces. It's definitely better to plan ahead to come here when they are actually running an art exhibit or have an event specific to the art center.
