Went to a wedding here, it was a fantastic time and the grounds were beautiful! I was sort of expecting a few of the mountains, and we did get that at some point throughout the property, but not a lot. The foliage and the greenery and the care given to the ambience definitely made up for this, the place was large enough to get a full-size In-N-Out Burger truck in, and have separate areas for the cocktail hour, the reception itself, and the dinner after! I was dismayed by the lack of bathroom facilities, because behind the restrooms Sign, they only had nicer porta potties! For a wedding venue, this nice, that surprised me quite a bit. read more

I attended a wedding at this venue. First if you are looking to book an event or just attending an event set realistic expectations and know before you go the following: 1. Majority of the grounds you are walking on are not level. It's all small rocks/gravel!!! Including the parking area. Ladies do not wear thin high heels. Wear a chunky square heel or flats or you will probably fall if you don't. 2. The bathrooms are outdoor porta potties. All are tiny & maneuvering with pants or dress on will be a challenging, unless you are a male. 3. There is no where to sit and wait during the transition times (ie., ceremony to reception). Another reason to wear comfortable shoes. You will be standing a long time! 4. You are responsible for bringing your own audio/microphones for ceremony & reception; responsible for moving chairs from ceremony area to reception grass area (the only area not gravel). Decorating your tables and if it's windy and the table cloths blow off it's your responsibility to fix it. No one will help you!!! 5. Yes, you can take nice pictures with palm trees & other greenery behind you or the inaccessible ranch house behind you. 6. Bring a big crew to help you with everything and a professional wedding coordinator and caterer. 7. Know it's less expensive for a reason!!! read more

We booked with McCormick two years ago for our May 2025 wedding. I had been told by a friend to check it out in person because the photos did the venue no justice. She was absolutely correct. The venue is covered in vibrant colors and florals, the staff is beyond helpful and willing to schedule tours and other services (we hired Becky as our coordinator), and they have a corgi named Rosie who is sooooooo adorable. This venue gives you the freedom of DIY or they help you out with a list of preferred vendors. We were guided very well. All questions were answered. Either way, you will not be alone in the planning process. Becky even scheduled our final wrap up phone calls with our other vendors to finalize everything. We did do a rehearsal the day before and she showed everyone around the sight that way everyone knew where everything was located. This venue was perfect for our garden themed wedding and everything went according to plan. Becky put our timeline together which was a huge help and necessity. This place was beautiful and very affordable but the staff is horrible. Becky who does the rentals for the venue is so unprofessional and rude. She tried to charge us for everything including trash cans, and trash bags. They will up charge everything. We had trouble getting a hold of her the entire time we were planning our wedding. She couldn't give us our final estimated quote until two days before our wedding. She never responded to texts or emails. The lady who owns the place sally is so out of it. She mixed up our appt times and names several times when going to look at the venue. Over all pretty venue but if you're booking here be ready to deal with the most unprofessional staff and no responses from anyone during this crucial time of planning. read more

My now husband and I got married here on May 21st, 2022 and we could not have asked for a more magical night. The venue is absolutely gorgeous - from it's natural beauty to the different spaces that can be used for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, you can't find anything better. Our guests are still talking about how much they loved the venue. It also gives you the freedom to bring your own food and alcohol which is something my then fiance and I wanted. There are also sheep on property which some of our guests loved! The house is very father-of-the-bride and a perfect backdrop for guest photos and sweetheart tables. My friend is trying to plan a wedding at this location. He just asked me to go with him to check out the venue. The venue is in Camarillo, CA. If you don't know where that is it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere which could be a good thing if that's what your looking for. It's surrounded by farmland which makes for good views. The inside of the ranch is just stunning. If you are looking for rustic style venue this is definitely the place. They said they have done some remodeling and the place still keeps the exact same vibe. We went in Nov so everything was almost dead and it was windy. I thought it still looked amazing. I can't imagine what it looks like in May. The place has a lot of potential to it. You are able to put in your own decorations but what they have on site looks great already but I know everyone likes to personalize their wedding. The greatest thing about tis place I think is that it's super cheap compared to the other options. I have been to a few weddings in Temecula and it was overpriced for the venue. This place was only like 5000 if you use their decorations and all their stuff is on site so no delivery charges. They don't supply the food but they will if you want. This place pretty caters to whatever you want. Of course it's going to cost extra if you bring any outside sources. Another great thing is they only do one wedding a day so you aren't rushed at any point. read more

She can be very forward but I wouldn't say rude. My husband and I got married in May and the venue looked beautiful. Everything was so green and in bloom. The lighting was beautiful at night! It was also helpful that there wasn't much outside noise from the free way. Besides that, the venue is very well maintained. It's one of the nicer outside venues I've been to. I am so happy I decided to have my wedding here this past August. McCormick Ranch is absolutely gorgeous, it even smells like flowers! It was really nice to be able to have a beautiful garden ceremony and not have to move venues for the reception. Sally McCormick lives on and runs the property (which has been in her family for generations) and though she can be a bit of a character, she was very helpful in the planning process. She allowed us to have a bounce house (yep, you heard that right!) and went over all the rentals with us (really awesome not having to outsource on that) giving insider knowledge. She actively tried to save us money by telling us what we didn't need, which was refreshing when compared to other party planners/vendors. You have to bring in outside food and alcohol, but McCormick provides you with everything else. Sally will also give you recommendations for catering, cheap alcohol, bartenders, servers, and cleanup crews if you need them. Everyone she recommended to me was great. My wedding went off without a hitch and using McCormick as our venue made the entire day more beautiful and special, without it costing an arm and a leg! read more

Absolutely beautiful location for a wedding! The ceremony was held in the garden area surrounded by big, tall trees. You could hear birds chirping and trees swaying in the background. After the ceremony there was a cocktail hour held in the the patio/backyard area adjacent to the garden. Cozy spot, people sitting at benches and walking around socializing. It made for relaxing atmosphere. Then the reception was held in front of home. The home made for a great backdrop. It felt so homey. Minus one star for the train tracks nearby....only one train came by, unfortunately, it was during the speeches. I would recommend checking the train timetable and maybe schedule speeches before or after the train passes. read more

I joined my family here last week in celebration of my sister's wedding. When we all met here for the recital, I was rather struck by the beauty and serenity of the property. The abundant shade offers a welcome retreat from the Camarillo warmth and wind. If you look closely, you'll see a sign that leads to the center of a garden. The sign reads "Seek Happiness". In the garden where the main reception area is held, there are cement deer taking a break in the bushes. The reception area is also backed by the main house, which is a large colonial beauty that adds to the country charm. The bridal party rooms were quaint and (thankfully) air-conditioned. Much appreciated for all of us running around like crazy in our gowns, trying to make everything perfect during the last moment. There are lots of great photo opportunity spots here. In front of the majestic green barn. Along the side of the colonial building. Out in the garden where the ceremony is held. In the bride room. There's also a neat little area where you can have a food buffet, like my sister and her new husband had. A couple of things that I found odd about the Ranch, which kept it from getting the full five stars: - the bridal party is expected to supply all arrangements, decorations, entertainment. I believe the ranch just offers use of certain parts of the property. I'm not even sure if the chairs and tables were theirs or if we rented them from elsewhere. - they were pretty strict about what we could decorate with. I brought 500 rose pedals to spread along the ceremonial path, but I wasn't able to use them, because there was another wedding the next day. - we had to have everything shut down by 11pm. - we had to clean everything up ourselves. I've had very little experience with bridal plannings, so I'm not sure if these rules are standard, or if it's something that the McCormick Ranch people had as preferences. But they struck me as a little quirky. I DO have to say though, that the ranch was one of the most beautiful wedding locations I've seen. It's definitely worth checking out to see if it's the best fit for your wedding needs. read more

OK, let me preface this with the fact that I did not have my wedding here but the reason for the poor score is the owner. She was extremely rude. We went by to take a look at her home, with an appointment of course, and she walked us through very quickly and said she had to go make a call...we waited and 30 minutes later, when she never came out of the house we decided to leave. Obviously didn't book with her, if she's going to treat us like that prior to us giving her any money we were worried how much worse the treatment would get. The location is however absolutely beautiful which is the only reason why I'm even giving a 2 star rating otherwise it would be 1 star all the way. read more

From the parking lot to the house is a long gravel covered walk and stilettos are not recommended unless you like sprained ankles. The bathrooms are also not super close and they are standard port a potties so wearing a long dress wasn't such a good idea. The location is pretty and full of flowers. You do not have access to the house. The ceremony location is a little small but has a sweet intimate feel to it. Be careful of the bees swarming around all of the flowers. Also watch out for mice since I saw some running around during the ceremony. You also need to take into consideration that there are planes that fly by and a train very close to you. While the bride and groom were speaking their vows, both a plane and a train went by one after the other and drowned out most of what they said. read more

This place is absolutely gorgeous, and it's where I'll be getting married this coming October!! Also, my sister just got married this past June there (Sorry dad, 2 weddings in 1 year!), and her wedding was so beautiful, romantic, stunning...I don't know what else to say! In June, there were many flowers in bloom, and the temperature outside was great- not really hot, and not really cold, either. I'm looking forward to mine in October, which means a whole different set of flowers will be in bloom, and it'll still be warm enough to not need a jacket. Sally, the owner has been doing this a long time, and you can imagine that during March to November, she's one busy lady, with a lot of appts and also handling a lot of groundskeepers that keep this place looking so gorgeous all year round- don't be miffed if you catch her on an off day. My advice, when you schedule an appt to come look at the place, just send her a reminder email or phone call the day before, that way she doesn't forget or get you mixed up with the dozens of other things she has to do every week. All my meetings with her have been pleasant, straightforward and thorough. My sister did catch her on an off day, but it had no effect on how her wedding turned out. Also, another Yelper mentioned about a railroad- yes, there's a railroad right across the street that runs every so often... my sister had a train come through during the wedding rehearsal, but no trains through the actual wedding at all :) If you're worried, here's a link to the Amtrak train schedules that runs through there (weekends), just look for the city of Camarillo- http://www.amtrak.com/ccurl/536/483/Pacific-Surfliner-Schedule-040113,0.pdf That way you can make sure your ceremony will be peaceful and quiet :) Overall, the fact that this place is huge, and you have 5 acres to yourself the entire day of your wedding, including a barn, sheep and a baby cow to entertain kids, meticulously clean and beautifully kept port-a-pottys (didn't think it was possible!), gorgeous gardens throughout to walk around, rentals for anything you could possibly need onsite, and lots of great photo op spots, you have to give this place a try... Just attended a wedding here this past weekend. Loved it!! The ceremony area is beautiful, there is a great patio for appetizers and champagne and the lawn for the reception is perfect. It is romantic, charming and has a very southern feel. Great parking and all of the trees and flowers are beautiful. Looked like a pretty darn low event site fee also. read more

There is not a more romantic, beautiful place to have your wedding. Sally was great and always answered my emails right away. My fiancé and I looked at this venue and LOVED it...BUT...they put fake grass on the front lawn!! :( There are other venues that had fake grass to keep it green, safe water, and prevent heels from digging in, but this is the only venue where you could really tell it was fake and it bothered us. If that doesn't bother you at all, 100% book here. It's beautiful and affordable - but my family just couldn't get past it. Completely in love with this location!! After days of endless online searching for a perfect and affordable wedding venue, I stumbled across the ranch last January. Photos do not do this location justice. Sally is great, helpful and to the point. No one tries to oversell you on anything and Sally provides help with with pointing you in the right direction for vendors. We've opted to work with Becky as our Ranch Coordinator (this is optional) and she is absolutely wonderful. She knows everything about the ranch and is really great about taking care of those important details. She put us in contact with many of our vendors which made things a lot easier for us. Preparing for a wedding takes a lot of work and it is a true relief to know Becky will be there to oversee and help bring our vision together. For pet lovers like myself: they're pet friendly!! Our wedding was as beautiful as I ever could have imagined. The lighting, the gardens, the grounds itself, really are absolutely stunning. I am so glad we chose this venue and would do it all again. This venue was fabulous for us because, in addition to being reasonably priced, it provides the rentals we needed (tables, linens, chairs, dance floor, decorative pieces) without tying us in to specific caterers or beverage options. We got to create the ambiance we wanted and Sally worked closely with us in arranging the placement of all wedding set up. There were some small miscommunications which caused two members of our wedding party to have to run off during the reception for supplies we thought were provided, but at the end of the night, all was well.
