I was notified that the person we worked with is no longer an employee. Hopefully, the new person is great.

Hartley Botanical greatly exceeded our expectations and dreams for a fantastic event. We will definately use this venue for future events and highly recommend it!

Dear Hubby and I have visited Hartley Botanica several times over the years. We have a photo of…read moreour now-22 year old grandson in Papa's arms when he was maybe 3 years old there! We were checking out their collection of exotic birds at the time. We tried to take our granddaughter somewhat recently and caught them on a day when they were hosting an event, so we didn't stay. Thankfully, the Camarillo Garden Tour featured this charming venue as one of their featured gardens in this year's event. It was fascinating to see how the property has evolved since we last spent time there. They have definitely made their primary space into a wedding venue haven with multiple garden "rooms", and a gathering space with dance floor and refreshments areas for the reception part of the special occasion. There is a small formal rose garden near the entrance for a welcoming space. The parrots and other tropical birds are no longer there, which is a shame from our perspective. I can imagine that they might be distracting for the wedding events, so there is a sense to moving on with retiring that aspect of the gardens. The owners were very gracious to have their lovely place serve as the spot where refreshments were served as part of the tour, plus the opportunity drawing prizes were displayed there, a small boutique, and a live band played to entertain the garden tour guests. We enjoyed lingering for a while. We also explored all of the main areas of the property. Delightful! The gardens have matured beautifully over the years, and the added artistic touches of lighting, stamped pathways with leaf shapes, and other charming elements speak well of the creative vision that brought this space to life.

She is communicative, detail-oriented, and incredibly thoughtful. On the wedding day, we felt completely taken care of. Mel managed everything and got everyone to where they needed to be.I didn't have to worry about a single thing! Every detail, every piece of signage, every vision we had was executed perfectly. The whole experience felt effortless and seamless. The entire venue was so beautiful with our guests still raving about it! Thank you to Mel and Maravilla Gardens for helping make the wedding of our dreams!

We considered this venue for my first daughter's wedding 3 years ago, and TBH, although the venue…read morewas incredible...we had a bad experience with Jenn and seeing several reviews of others who experienced what we did...so we opted out of considering the venue. However, when my next daughter, FSIL and I started looking at venues...I kept thing about Maravilla, as I knew it was exactly what they were looking for. We talked about the past experience her sister and I had, and so at first did not want to consider the venue. But-I thought-maybe Jenn had a bad day the last time we were there-and we opted to give the venue a chance. I am glad we did. Jenn was very friendly, accommodating and informative. It was as if I was meeting a completely different person. My daughter's wedding here was in October-and it was absolutely wonderful. The venue is just gorgeous, the grounds are meticulously kept-and without a doubt the wedding coordinator Mel that is part of the package at Maravilla was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She made my daughter's day stress free and perfect. She kept everything on schedule and handled every/any issue that came up immediately. The Glam house is fantastic-but I do not like that they boot you out several hours before the event and give you a miniscule trailer for the bridal party. Only a few of our 7 people could fit in the trainer room at one time, there was only 2 seats. And we had to move all of our things there while we were only half ready. The food was very good, however we were forced to use their one caterer (Command Performance)...and while every other caterer offers a free tasting for up to 4 guests- Command Performance told us that since they were our only option, they would not do a 'free tasting' but would 'agree' to one for us @ $300 for the couple and $150 per additional person. The real rub was when my friend's son got married at the Gerry- you can choose your caterer from a list. And Command Performance is on that list-and they got free tastings. When we brought that to his attention, he said-"well they have choices of caters, so in that case, we will give free tastings". Pros: Beautiful setting Excellent parking Secure location Easy access Grounds are meticulously kept Fantastic support staff Coordinator Mel Glam room/house Lots of prop choices from her 'barn' Cons: Limited time in the glam house Extremely small trailer room for the bridal party after glam room Forced to use from their limited vendors/lack of competition allows them to take advantage of you Seems like many standard items have an 'extra' charge

Everyone is friendly, attentive, and works hard to create a great experience. The atmosphere is fun, the music adds to the energy, and the bread and butter are absolutely delicious. The spaghetti and meatballs are next level and one of my favorite dishes. I also love that it's within walking distance of Leisure Village, giving residents a fun local spot to enjoy great food, music, and company. Keep up the great work!

I recently visited The Manhattan in Camarillo with a group of coworkers and left disappointed,…read moreespecially considering the restaurant's prices and reputation. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The décor is elegant, the dining room is inviting, and the table presentation creates the expectation of a high-end dining experience. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. Service throughout the evening was lacking. It appeared the restaurant was understaffed for the number of guests present. While the servers themselves were polite, the overall experience suffered because there simply were not enough staff members to adequately cover the dining room. Finished plates sat on our table long after we were done eating, and we eventually had to flag someone down to have them removed. My water glass was refilled only once during the entire meal, and after that I had to get my own water from the car. The food was even more disappointing. The lobster bisque was overwhelmingly salty and contained little, if any, noticeable lobster. The pasta was so heavily salted that it was difficult to eat. For dessert, the chocolate cake tasted like a standard store-bought cake rather than something that reflected the restaurant's pricing or presentation. The Manhattan has all the visual elements of an upscale dining experience, but the food and service fell far short of expectations. When a restaurant charges premium prices, guests should be able to expect attentive service and well-executed food. Unfortunately, neither was delivered during our visit.
