The most striking feature of all was the precision demonstrated by Soltana Mulhearn, and her team from Velvet Alley Events. https://www.instagram.com/velvetalleyevents/ From first meeting at rehearsal Soltana greeted the party, took us on a tour of the lovely property, and explained how the ceremony would be conducted. Soltana's deft handling of the 25, or so, members of the wedding party, all while being patient, and with a smile, was more than reassuring to me, and the others as well. Her staff seamlessly underpinned the event. Her staff were professional, well trained, and just beautiful people. A live event can go "off" at any time. Soltana kept the wedding on track from start to finish, and all with that smile! I would, without hesitation, highly recommend Eden Gardens, and the amazing services of Velvet Alley Events. The bride had a Lord of the Rings themed wedding and this place was absolutely perfect!!! It looked just like The Shire. The weather was somewhat chilly since the wedding ceremony took place in the late afternoon, but it was decorated so beautifully. The food was great and the service was also satisfactory as well. We were served our alcoholic beverages, champagne, and food, all within a reasonable timeframe. I wasn't sure whether or not I should be thanking the caterer for this, or the wedding coordinator. Even the restrooms were nice and clean. The bride and groom rented these miniature cows to come and hang with us for part of the reception. I thought that was a really nice touch. There was plenty of parking, but the only thing is you have to drive quite a bit to find this place- it's a hidden behind another type of farmer's market/pumpkin patch farm in the front.

Would 100% recommend Walnut Grove to anyone in SoCal looking for an awesome wedding venue.

She was very reassuring since we live 6 hours away in SF and made sure everything we wanted was taken care of. If you want a day-of coordinator, you can hire Laura to take care of all the important details on your big day. We also had our rehearsal dinner here (you can pay extra) to rent out the house on the premises or you could just rent out the huge outdoor area in the back of the house. Table and chairs are included with the rental fee. We decided to go with DJ's catering that Laura recommended and they took great care of the catering + drinks part. That is another business I'd highly recommend. Laura has a pay-it-forward program where you can donate one item from your wedding decor and you get free access to the entire room of decor such as signs, card boxes, table numbers, bar signage, vases, etc to use for your wedding which we made great use of. Our ceremony took place in the front grassy area and the reception dinner in the cobblestone area. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how nice everything was afterwards. We had no hiccups or issues on the day of the wedding, the weather was in the low 80s and by the time dinner came around, it was perfect temperatures. The venue offers plenty of greenery and shade even on a hot day. There is also plenty of parking spaces for guests and areas for guests to roam around the venue during cocktail hour. We hope you choose RDLP when it's your turn to tie the knot, we couldn't have made a better decision.

I see that there is a residence in the premises. If this is available for the bridal party to use to get ready, this facility is even better than I thought. Food was pretty good too.

Best place to play golf in the county -- Moorpark Country Club is on another level…read more First off, the prices are incredibly reasonable considering everything this course offers. From the moment you arrive, the clubhouse staff and bar team are welcoming, helpful, and just genuinely cool people. Quick recommendation: grab the turkey sandwich with chipotle aioli -- absolute must-try. One of the things that makes this course so special is the 3 different 9-hole layouts. Each round feels fresh because you're usually playing a different combination, which keeps things interesting and helps the pace of play stay smooth. It's a smart setup and it shows. The course conditions are outstanding. The grass is pristine, the greens roll beautifully, and it's obvious the grounds crew takes real pride in their work. Everything feels well cared for. The carts are awesome too -- full GPS yardages to the pin, Bluetooth connectivity, and speakers so you can play your music while you ride. Small touches like that really elevate the experience. And the scenery? Incredible. The view from Hole 2 on Ridgeline alone is worth the trip -- one of the best views anywhere in the county. The driving range is another highlight since you get to hit off real grass, which makes practice feel like the real thing. Overall: great staff, beautiful course, excellent conditions, fun layout variety, and top-tier amenities. Easy 5/5. Hands down my favorite place to play golf in the county.

The course is open to the public, but also has members like a typical country club, and I liked that many of the members seemed familiar with each other and the staff. Moorpark CC has three 9s, and I had the opportunity to play the Ridgeline and Creekside sides (first time on both). Both courses were in good shape, and the greens were very fast. Ridgeline is definitely the easier of the two courses -- it's generally wider, and there aren't nearly as many forced carries. Number five is a tricky blind tee shot if you've never played the course and don't know where to aim (aka my experience), but the rest of the holes are pretty straight up (though still challenging). Creekside was a beast -- not only is it narrower, but there are hazards on nearly both sides of every fairway, many of which are automatic unplayables (and some of which are unmarked), so your score can balloon quickly -- for reference, I shot +2 on Ridgeline and +11 on Creekside... There are a couple of very cool holes right in a row (a set of a par 4 up the mountain, a drivable par 4 off of a cliff, and a par 3 also off of an elevated tee), which was this side's saving grace for me. My only complaint is that the course doesn't seem to be marshaled. I was playing as a single (with a cart), and was stuck behind a not-very-good and slow foursome, who wouldn't let me play through and were taking their sweet time on every shot.

It was so sweet to have her alternate at times from laying her head on Dear Hubby's shoulder and then mine. Sometimes she would sit up tall and lean forward at certain times in the show. After, she said, "I want to stay until the next one", thinking that the cast would be doing a second show right away the same day. She doesn't yet realize how much energy and effort goes into a performance like this, but I loved the positive reaction. The theater, while small scale and local, nonetheless does a great job of putting on entertainment which captivates their audiences. It's a blessing to have this venue close to home, away from the hassles and expense of going into L.A. Ticket prices are reasonable, parking is free, and the staff is friendly. The large cast managed to sing, dance, and act their way through a beloved classic musical on a smallish stage and made it work. Kudos to the visual technology that makes set decoration a new type of visual art. We're looking forward to seeing "Footloose" at the Arts Center soon.

We were checking out their collection of exotic birds at the time. We tried to take our granddaughter somewhat recently and caught them on a day when they were hosting an event, so we didn't stay. Thankfully, the Camarillo Garden Tour featured this charming venue as one of their featured gardens in this year's event. It was fascinating to see how the property has evolved since we last spent time there. They have definitely made their primary space into a wedding venue haven with multiple garden "rooms", and a gathering space with dance floor and refreshments areas for the reception part of the special occasion. There is a small formal rose garden near the entrance for a welcoming space. The parrots and other tropical birds are no longer there, which is a shame from our perspective. I can imagine that they might be distracting for the wedding events, so there is a sense to moving on with retiring that aspect of the gardens. The owners were very gracious to have their lovely place serve as the spot where refreshments were served as part of the tour, plus the opportunity drawing prizes were displayed there, a small boutique, and a live band played to entertain the garden tour guests. We enjoyed lingering for a while. We also explored all of the main areas of the property. Delightful! The gardens have matured beautifully over the years, and the added artistic touches of lighting, stamped pathways with leaf shapes, and other charming elements speak well of the creative vision that brought this space to life.
