Fantastic venue for a show! Attended the Elks Lodge for the first time to see The Garden, Dr. Know and Ghost Mountain. I had a great time and the venue was intimate, clean, and security was top notch. I really like how the stage does not have a barricade and the crowd is respectful enough to leave the artists alone. Water, sodas, and energy drinks are cash only. The line to get in starts at the front door and moves towards the back of the venue. They allow like 10 people at a time and scan tickets and allow another 10 inside. I have to admit this has been a great venue and I hope to be back. read more

Manager in charge of renting out facilities is very unprofessional, has a horrible disposition and will not allow set up time before events. Do yourself a favor and book your event elsewhere. We had my daughter's big event in July 22, 2017. Jesse was fantastic since day one .He took his time by walking us through the whole contract, he made the planning scheme so smooth and easy. He was so helpful and responsive the entire time he answered all of our questions and helped ease all of our stress. With no hesitation and quick response, Jesse made sure all of our requested were fulfilled . Jesse is wonderful to work with, he guided me and my husband through the process from start to finish and was always available when we had questions or any changes that needed to be made to our event. The day of my event he was continually checking with me and my husband if everything was ok or if we needed anything . The Oxnard Elks Lodge is my place , here I am planning my daughter's quince again Aug 2025 . His professionalism and communication is amazing. Any questions Jesse is always available for his clients. TERRIBLE! STAY AWAY! If this is your only option then you're better off just canceling your event. Was here for a big party thrown by my aunt and uncle. They bought a lot of drinks for the event but they were locked away in a closet because the owners want to make money off of the quests. "Ok fine, I'll go to the bar" I said. Went with my other aunt and bought beers and 6 margaritas for our table. Unfortunately, once we all took a sip we felt SCAMMED. The margaritas tasted like straight up lemonade. My mom was mad because we spent $100 on these drinks. We have never ever complained about food or drinks especially since I have worked at a bar/restaurant as a manager, but these drinks were NOT ok. My mom went back and asked Jesse if they forgot to put the alcohol in and if he could please fix them. He said that they batch their margaritas so they just pour from the margarita mix bottle once ordered and you get what you get. So now I'm confused why it took soo long to get the drinks if they really are just premixed and ready to go. Also, for someone with a strict dress code, he and his bartender are dressed unprofessionally. I dress better to go shopping at Walmart. Also, someone allegedly saw Jesse take 3 bottles of sparkling cider we had out when everyone was cleaning up. I know it's not a lot but I can't believe the audacity of this man. I only say allegedly because I did not see it, but it was a credible source. The main reason I'm writing this review is because of the restrooms. First of all, the women's restroom sign was a janky home-printed paper sign. I mean, come on man, I've seen signs sold at the dollar store, at least laminate yours, Jesus Christ. The restroom looks like it was just a tiny closet that someone installed a toilet into. No windows, no ventilation, and NOT EVEN A TRASH CAN!!! No trash can in a women's restroom? There were used discarded feminine products in the corner because where else are they going to put them? Or does Jesse want them flushed? It smelled worse than a gas station bathroom. My quince was held here 16 years ago and it's sad to see how poorly maintained this place is. I will let my family know that from here on out if the party is here, I will not be attending. Hopefully more people follow suit. read more

Recently went there for event the service by the staff wasn't very good.The staff wasn't friendly when asked about bringing water to the table. The lack of servers was noticeable to the point people was asking when their table will get foodThe meal served was cold and tasteless.The place looked like it is going through renovations.The room was cold and the women bathroom light was out where you use the toilet. If I could rate this place a ZERO I would. I'm appalled with the outcome of management, their bartender, and the business they run. Upon our arrival immediately AFTER A FUNERAL Jess Gonzalez was so condescending, rude and hypocritical to the family who was setting up and bringing food. - Our DJ was told to take off her Angels baseball cap as he's wearing his Dodger cap half way off of his head. He threatened to shut down the reception within the first 15 mins of the party if she didn't take it off. He even had a family member take off his hat that had an American flag because it's "gang attire" (strange) - He kept walking around and pointing out things he didn't like (kids running around, DJ, hats, etc.) my grieving family was unable to enjoy their time because he was constantly complaining about things that were beyond our control. - His security guard had my family members open containers of food to check if paraphernalia was in there. It was humiliating and shocking to go further than just checking hand bags. - Don't get me started on his daughter/bartender who was unbelievably disrespectful and unprofessional. Her rage was quite disturbing for such a sensitive time for our family. I am embarrassed for her so I will leave it at that. There was so much more negativity to add to an already stressful day. My advice to you is believe these reviews, pay attention to janke paper signs that say no hats (even if the manager can't uphold to his own dress code), and don't rent from here if you are trying to enjoy your time. The amount of people in the building with only one security guard, and the bar was open... code ethics were broken and better business bureau will here about this terribly ran place. Now this place is really a disappointment to elks members all over California . I could name quite a few reasons . Food . Bar service . I was laughed at by bartender at this place . My brother in law is a acting elk member so I had reservations for Thursday' . My hamburger was sloppy and sadly the bartender was a snobby uptight middle aged women who made my drink way to strong . The most unbelievable part of that is the bartender had what looked like her 1 year old son their running back and forth fr behind the bar into what appeared to be the "jack Beavers memorial game room that was fill to the brim with dangerous tools and dangerous. Equipment! I most definitely will be letting child protective services on this women and what appeared to be her father or husband . I was confused about that part . This place should be shut down and investigated . And when we ask the securities if we could at least have the water bottles out he said no! That we had to buy our drinks from the bar. They did have free tap water that was disgusting! To the Elks Lodge , please do not turn your head on these ratings, I would definitely rate this lodge a Zero !! I cannot believe the horrible bad treatment we received from this place, We rented the Elks Lodge to have a reception after the burial of my brother , we wanted everything to be beautiful and perfect, all went well until we got to the Lodge, not only were they supposed to open at 1:00 pm they opened at 1:20 pm & The Manager Jess Gonzalez was Rude and demanding and the entire time he kept threatening to shut the Lodge down for silly little things , like telling our musicians to take their hats off , even thou he had a Dodger hat , he told us he can wear a hat because he's the owner , if you ask me that's a hypocrite, and his daughter the bartender had to be the worse most rude person I have ever seen, the bar was suppose to be opened at 1:00 and they didn't open until about 2:15 , we were not even in the bar for no more then 15 mins when she began cutting off our guest because she was having a bad day , she was cursing at our guest as well , we maintain our composure, this could have gone way out of of control , but we are professionals from the city of Oxnard , we are teachers , councilors , accountants, City Workers , Doctors. I have been speaking with several people from our city and they have received the same horrible treatment. This person Jess Gonzales and his daughter should be removed, is this the kind of reputation you want for your Lodge ? I could not believe the audacity the female bartender had. She had to be the most insensitive individual I have met. Our family had the reception following the burial of our family member here at the elks and the way she was speaking to not one, but multiple guest there, was completely unprofessional and quite frankly, rude. Granted this was already a difficult time for our family already and all she did was create more unwanted feelings of disrespect and anger. If I could give this place a rating of zero, I definitely would. Not only will we not book a reservation at this location, but to anyone considering this venue, I would HIGHLY recommend you not. Just read all of the other comments, I am surprised this venue is still open. every time we've had to dj here it's been a pain. the venue manager is a complete jerk. the venue is awesome if it wasn't for him. he arrives late gives you 30 minutes to load in and 15 minutes to load out. This place it the epitome and prime example of a terrible experience at a venue. I've come across a fair share of rude people in my life but whoever this Jesse guy is, is a total joke..and that's being nice. My mind was blown trying to comprehend why someone like that would be in a business that requires professionals to make your celebration a success. The security guard gave us better customer service then the people who manage it, you know that is a major problem. It was by far the worst experience I regretfully put myself in. It's exhausting and draining being around people who carry nothing but negative energy when all you want to do is celebrate loved ones. Horrible experience! I will never EVER have another event at this location , the manager Jesse is a total jerk! If you want to be stressed and pissed off then this is the place for you. We had several problems with the "contract" he made for us ! Tip: make sure you have the exact time your event will start, the date, the deposit amount, and the total amount overall are all written down on the contract the very first time you meet with him because that will be the only time when he doesn't act like a total ass ! Also don't rely on his word he promised to be there 30 minutes before the event time to give us some time for last minute things well the doors didn't open until after 3pm 10 minutes late... We waited over 45 minutes outside with our guest. The party (baby shower) was a total success after the doors where open he didn't bother us thank goodness, but the whole experience dealing with Jesse was just not worth it! 0 stars I really hope he retires soon and let's someone with better customer service take over . read more
