This place managed to strike out before we even teed off. Strike one: I was charged a holiday rate on a non-holiday -- the Monday before Christmas. Last I checked, that's still a regular weekday. Strike two: No GPS on the carts. In 2025. Bring your own GPS or be prepared to guess yardages like it's 1994. Strike three: The course itself is a total toilet bowl. Tee boxes and fairways are unkept, fairways are beat up with little to no grass, weeds everywhere, bunkers full of gravel, rocks, and exposed tree roots, and broken concrete dumped off to the side of the course like an abandoned construction site. Greens clearly haven't been properly rolled. To top it off, the golf course website is flat-out misleading about its so-called "ongoing improvements." Most of the attention seems to be going toward the driving range--which still isn't even officially open--while the actual course is completely neglected. The water hazards are absolutely vile: stagnant, foul-smelling, and it felt less like a round of golf and more like I was on a PBR patrolling down the Mekong Delta near Saigon. What really adds insult to injury is seeing maintenance carts driving all over the property while it doesn't look like anything productive is actually getting done. Plenty of movement, zero results. Charging people real money to play this course in its current condition is insulting. This place should be shut down entirely and reopened only after a complete renovation. Until then, the course should be paying golfers to play here--not the other way around. I walked away feeling robbed of my hard-earned $59, which would've been more satisfying to flush straight down the toilet. Save your money. Lets check back in around 2030 and see if anything will have changed. read more

Absolutely ridiculous on MLK day. I get it's a holiday but the marshall and starter aren't even trying. Tee time is pushed back 25 minutes because the group at the first is waiting for the group in front to get on the green and they proceed to hit the ball 12 feet. Hey marshal, hey starter, go tell them to move it along or move aside! It should not take 90 minutes to play 2 holes. I couldn't take it anymore so I leave, and then McKenna in the pro shop said she would talk to the boss about a potential refund but that never happened. I doubt it would, either. They can promote an updated driving range and new ownership improvements all they want but the course is still beat to hell and the employees are worse than before! Tim the old starter was a bit kooky but he'd tell it like it is! Total waste of $50+, for a course that shouldn't even cost $25. Never again. Oh and the toilets didn't even have toilet paper! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The course is disgusting! Dirt and gravel everywhere, very construction sight. The grounds are disgustingly unkept. Every turn you take on the course with the golf cart feels like an obnoxious off-roading experience. The course is choppy and confusing to play. Also, the golf cart keys have this obnoxiously large keychain on them that make it so distracting to play and drive around. This place SMELLS awful! It's located on sewage land and has a massive septic tank on the grounds. Horrible. The marshal loves to constantly harass you every 2 holes and tell you everything you're doing wrong and distract you from playing. Boomers need to quit power tripping every chance they get and allow people to enjoy themselves. No wonder courses are shutting down across the country and this sport is dying. The snack bar/food closes early, so don't expect to eat anything past 11:00. The workers here are rude and obnoxious. Whoever is managing this place must be fired. Hard to believe they wanted to close this dump down and build condos on it. Let's all just forget this place exists and turn in into a homeless camp or something. At least then, the grounds would be used for something good in comparison to the robbery they're committing by charging people to play here and calling it a course. read more

If you try to get a refund due to poor pace of play Beth will demean your concerns and try to manipulate you into believing theres no problem. Just a money hungry course which doesn't care about the consumer!! It's recently came under new ownership and they are building a new driving range with launch monitors so hopefully that means better conditions on the course. The bathrooms and pro shop seem like they're ion temporary buildings and I didn't see a bar or a cart girl, but they have a decent selection of beverages in the pro shop. He didn't let us finish our game made us stop playing at the 16th hole by 5:00 when we are paying full price to play a whole 18!!!!! Terrible!!!!! Course is also in rough shape and how is it that when it's your tee time they don't have carts why do they overbook if they have a certain amount of carts or why don't you give the carts to the people who actually get there at the tee time not an hour ahead!!! Over the past 10+ years, I've watched the course's condition steadily decline -- fairways drying out, greens struggling, maintenance slipping. Even with that, I still chose to play here because it was affordable, easy to get a tee time, and convenient for a quick round. What really disappointed me recently, though, was learning that the course let go of one of their best employees, Harvey. If you've played here before, you know exactly who I'm talking about -- he's the friendly face that consistently went out of his way to make guests feel welcome. Harvey treated everyone with kindness, respect, and genuine care. He represented Camarillo Springs far better than the fairways do. I don't know every detail of the situation, but from what I've heard it seems like an overreaction -- and frankly, a mistake. Losing someone like Harvey is a loss not just for the staff, but for the entire community of regular players who appreciated his presence. In a place where the course itself has struggled, employees like Harvey were a big reason people kept coming back. Camarillo Springs has been a part of my golf life for decades, but decisions like this make it hard to keep supporting them. I have been playing here every few weeks it keeps getting better and better. They're doing tons of maintenance making the course look really nice. They're constantly working on it can't wait for the new driving range I really enjoyed the food TJ kitchen is amazing. I really hope they keep. Him on board once the new pro shop is completed. I drive all the way from LA because I can always get a tee time and I will make the trip to play a great course. It's been my favorite course lately the views from the front 9 are incredible. I played on May 3rd, 2035, it took us 5 hours and 32 minutes to finish our round which was without exaggeration the biggest waste of money and time. The course smelled awful, the fairways were 8 different colors and lengths, the greens were fuzzy, tee boxes were on down slopes and a few of the pin locations were illegal. There was a par 5, maybe hole 13 or 14 where right in the middle of the "fairway" there were 2 broken wooden pallets sitting in a pile of sand and stinky dirty water. The cart we were assigned did not have a windshield which is unsafe in itself but also contributed to a miserable experience when driving, due to the wind and rain in our face, also the USB charger port on our cart didn't work. The driving range was under construction so we couldn't warm up and we were never made aware of this prior to booking. I can't believe management has the audacity to charge $62 per person for a round. The saddest part is that the course has the potential to be something special, the backdrop of the hills on some holes made for really nice scenic views, not to mention the course layout isn't bad and could actually be fun to play, if the course was better maintained and any sort of consistency was shown in the treatment of the course. I'd rather not play golf than play another round at this course and I'm addicted to golf. To say this course was a disappointment is an understatement. 0/5 stars isn't possible but for this place it should be. read more

This course needs a lot of work and watering. Tee boxes are all uneven weeds cut close, the fairways are mostly dirt and dead grass. Greens are fine but dang. Prices are a bit high for no grass. Currently at this course.... Don't fall for it. They made the range pretty to cover up the dirt lot they charge $50 to play. After they extract the hard earned $50 out of your account you realize they split the groups up by 8 minutes so you are forced to play a 6 hour round. Waiting 10 minutes every tee box. read more

Let's be honest- you don't even have to have played here to figure out that this place isn't in very good condition. Just read through most of the other reviews on here. That being said, I really don't mind that part too much. The problem I have is that if you're going to charge $62 for an unmaintained course with non-existent tee boxes that smells like raw sewage throughout the entire property, you could at least have some decency with how you treat paying customers. I played a round there recently with a foursome. We had an earlier tee time that was already backed up, and then ended up behind a group that was playing very slow. Like comically, obnoxiously slow. We were waiting at least 10 minutes at every tee box. Now, our group didn't care much about that. They didn't seem to be messing around or anything, just very inexperienced players. But hey, everyone's got to start somewhere. However the marshal followed our group from hole 3 all the way through the turn (hole 11 at this course) urging us to "keep it moving" multiple times and never leaving our side! At no point did he ever let the group in front of us know to speed up pace, when they were clearly the problem. The first time this happened, we told him we were waiting at every hole and keeping faster pace. He literally just ignored us but kept following the whole time! What even is the point of having a marshal? Why does this course not have someone monitoring pace and speeding up where needed? It was just uncomfortable having someone follow us and harass us for no reason, and made the whole experience less than ideal. Then today I called their number to ask if their driving range was open. The guy told me yes it was, and that it was open for another 4 hours. So I drove down there only to find out it was not in fact open, and the number on their website directs to someone who is not on site, and clearly doesn't know the hours of their own course! I'm not trying to nit-pick, but for the amount of money they charge and the overall condition of this place I'd expect them to behave normally. Or at the very least just be able to let me know that they're closed when I call ahead so that I don't drive all the way there for no reason. Reading through other reviews it seems like this is a pretty normal thing for this course. Honestly, I'd spend my money elsewhere. Last thing, they really have to do something about that smell. Breathing in port-o-potty for 6 hours is not safe or fun for anyone. read more

Last round I'll ever play here! It's one big toilet bowl. No, make that an outhouse. Greens are rough and inconsistent. Tee boxes are the worst. Bunkers are full of 3/4" gravel. And it just gets worse. A few months ago the starter said they have new ownership and, get this, "This will be the finest golf facility in all of LA and Ventura counties". I came here hoping for a peaceful morning round before heading to work, but unfortunately, the whole experience ended up being pretty frustrating. First off, the cost to play was way too high given the condition of the course. A lot of areas looked neglected, with dry, brown patches all over. The cart paths were rough, cracked, and uneven, and several tee boxes were torn up and had way too much sand in them. I even encountered a few pins that were set on slopes, which from what I know under USGA rules are considered illegal placements. For the price I paid, I really expected better especially since I've played other local courses that are in way better shape for the same cost. What made things worse was the constant delays caused by the grounds crew. At one point, a staff member moved my ball without saying anything and just kept using a blower a few feet away from me with no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. On top of that, I kept running into workers directly in front of me, including their carts and lawn mowers driving right across my line of play and distracting me from my shots. All of this slowed things down so much that I couldn't even finish my round before heading to work. I get that maintenance has to happen, but it shouldn't mess with play this much especially not in the morning when you're trying to get in and out. Between staff getting in the way, incidents like my ball being moved without acknowledgment, and the constant noise and delays, it made the round feel more like an interruption than a game. Usually I am able to finish 18 holes within 3-4 hours no problem, but with all the delays, the cost, the rough conditions, and the lack of courtesy from staff, the whole experience just wasn't worth it. read more

Course is in terrible condition, tee boxes are next to impossible to tee up properly. Tee times are way too close together, we waited 5-10min on every hole from 1 to 18 and the Marshall still said we were playing too slow. To top it off they think they can charge $65 a player for an absolutely horrible experience. Wouldn't come back here again if they paid me. I really tried to give this place a chance, but it took 3 hours and 20 minutes for the front nine. I left at the turn. Greens are in amazing shape but the fairways are mostly dirt. During our visit on the morning of May 25th, we had an unfortunate encounter with the course marshal. As we approached to line up and wait for the group ahead to finish teeing off, the marshal used inappropriate language toward our group. When we asked him to clarify what he said, he repeated the remark, which was both unprofessional and unnecessary. Thankfully, several members of our group are in law enforcement and were able to de-escalate the situation. We were disappointed by the lack of courtesy and professionalism displayed by a staff member representing the course. To add to that we left after hole 16 because we were already at 5.5 hrs with no pace of play enforced. read more

Harvey and all of the golf staff are super helpful and kind and they go out of their way to make our group feel welcomed! Been back a few times now with my kids. Harvey always hooks it up making it an easy experience.

The new owners have started to improve the course and the driving range, but heard today as part of their plan they have fired their starter. I do not understand this - Harvey has been loyal and worked very hard through some very difficult times at the course. He was always extremely helpful and courteous. He was very well respected by all the regular players and he will be missed. I do not believe this is an improvement for the course. The experience rating of 4 stars is in part due to the excellent check-in process provided by Harvey. read more

The best reason to go to Camarillo Springs is Harvey at the Pro Shop. He represents them extremely well. Harvey is very customer oriented, always there to help, polite, with a great attitude. Harvey has helped us out many many times as we pay there an average of 3 times a week. Harvey gets us off to a great start and makes our round enjoyable. read more

I spoke to Harvey in the pro shop before heading out to play ...he was awesome. He had many detailed tips for just about every hole. Great customer service skills!! When I was walking up to the 1st hole I saw a grumpy looking man... come to find out he was the starter and I couldn't have been more wrong about his demeanor. True gentleman... i believe his name was Tim and he was very personable. Impecable course with great customer service from every employee I came across. I went to CSGC today to work on my pathetic driver ability and the first thing I saw was more major improvements taking place at the GC. So nice to see life being injected into this once beautiful course. My driving wasn't improving and I saw their Pro Jacob Lusk outside and decided what the heck, I needed help so I asked if we could set up a time for him to help me. He responded with why not now? In one half hour lesson I was hitting my driver better and more consistently than I ever thought possible. Thank you Jacob and I look forward to more lessons in the future. read more

Course needs a lot of work. First the women's restroom at the clubhouse is out of order. There's no where to wet a towel. There are no trash cans or ball washers anywhere on the course. A lot of area are dirt and weeds. Also the driving range is still under construction so you have to play without warming up. Agree with the prior review. My dad and brother like to golf there so gift certificates make great birthday and holiday gifts. I'm out of town but Harvey has always been great at taking my info over the phone, providing certificate numbers and making the whole process a breeze. And they have scrumptious Connie's Hot Dogs periodically on-site. It's a win-win! read more

Played with some friends I haven't seen in awhile, I had some good feelings and figured would be fun. Nope. We had an employee follow us for 3 holes then directed to tell me to teach my friends how to golf whom are beginners. Then this employee proceeded to tell me "you need to teach them how to golf because they suck". I get it, new golfers need to pick up their pace. But how are we supposed to pick up pace when there's people in front of us. After every hit we had to wait because there was a group ahead. It didn't matter if my friends took their time because we all had to wait regardless. Yet, we were the only ones being watched and told something. We spent over $200 here paying their bills and we get treated like this? To top it off, the greens are not well maintained and one of our carts died. Very Unprofessional, happy to say I will never come back here. read more
