Today I went to the store to get a TM driver wrench and walked about to see if they had them for sale. Finding none, I asked the gentleman in the service/repair shop and he said to ask the front desk since they had been giving them away in the past. I took his instruction, went to the front checkout and asked the two "boys" if they had any "TaylorMade" wrenches and one of them wandered around, looking for a Callaway wrench. I reminded him that it was not a Callaway but a TaylorMade wrench. He glanced about, then said "nah". I returned to the service area, asked the professional and polite gentleman if I could bring my driver in if he could tighten it until I found a store that sold them. He politely replied "of course" so I went to my car to get it. Here is the sticking point: when I walked back in minutes (actually seconds) later with my driver, one of the young fellows, with no tact told me I had to check my club in, which made some sense, so as not to have me walk in with mine and return with a new or better club (they didn't say that, but, obviously the gist). I handed him my club where they wrapped a sticker on the shaft and was going to the service area. Then the other less than courteous kid said I had to take my head cover off as well - stating company policy. I went back to service, the professional and friendly gentleman tightened it and as I walked away I said "thank you, you're great, but the guys at the desk can pound sand"! (Hoping in a bunker) The issue is there were maybe one or two other patrons in the store, so if I was a thief it would have been clear if I was trying to flip an old club for a new. In fact I bought the referenced driver from the same store ($500+), a putter a month ago ($300+), my sons junior clubs ($300+), a few dozen balls ($200+) and so on. The last time I went to a drive through at McDonalds I was treated with courtesy and respect, much more so than the kids at this store. Extremely disappointed with the type of employees on staff today and it will be very difficult to patronize Roger Dunn ever again... BTW, I went on Amazon and will have the wrench and a dozen - Pro V1x balls delivered tomorrow. No wonder brick and mortar shops are dying when you staff your store with incompetent BOYS... read more

I've given Roger Dunn multiple chances but the customer service, especially at the front and from the managers is consistently disappointing. While there are a few helpful and kind individuals in the back area the majority are rude, dismissive and act like helping customers is a burden. It's frustrating to walk into a store that's supposed to be about service and leave feeling ignored or talked down to. What's worse is that this doesn't seem to be a one-off experience. A quick read through other reviews shows a clear pattern of poor customer treatment. The management doesn't seem to care and it shows in the way staff interact with people. If you're hoping for friendly or even basic service you might want to lower your expectations or shop elsewhere. read more

Tried getting a set of clubs but ended up walking around for 20 minutes without being offered any help. Once I received help the gentlemen assisting me reeked of cigarettes which is super unproffesional. Then to top it off when I went to checkout both cahsiers were too invested on their phones to look up and notice me waiting. A manager (looked like an alien) then told them to knock it off and I finally got the help I needed. Overall a bad experience and I would much rather just shop online from now on. read more

Been there 4 times in the past 3 weeks and every single time Ive walked in there has been the same gentleman at the front desk who glances and makes eye contact with me. Eveytime I've smiled and made a greeting such as "how you doing today sir", and every time I get the same annoyed stare back at me and he looks away. This has happened 4 times in a row now!!! It's blatant disrespect at this point. Unfortunately the service has been the same with the rest of the staff, with the exception of one individual whose name I did not catch. Everyone walks right past me but seems to cater to all other customers, or they just hang out at the front desk. I understand I'm a bit of a "rough" looking man, but that doesn't negate the fact that I deserve the same customer service as everyone else. I've purchased a brand new driver, putter, and bag with in the last 3 weeks, but will be taking my bussines elsewhere. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe the service would improve once they see I'm a paying customer and not just window shopping, and I was wrong. Here's another kicker, when I was leaving the store I was backing up out of my parking space and was almost hit by a speeding vehicle that came around the corner like a bat out of hell. I slowed down and waited to see who would get out of the vehicle and it was an employee of the store!! Not sure why this location only has 3.5 stars but its definitely not accurate. I've been an active client for a few years and I've only enjoyed great experiences. They offer a risk free trial period on newly purchased items.. so no risk and can get store credit for something new within the time period allowed. they also have two stalls where you can take a few swings with something you are interested in purchasing within the store. More importantly, the level of service and care is superior to most retail stores I visit. They go above and beyond what's expected and they do it with class and a smile. Called in on a Saturday and was surprised they actually had a grip in stock I needed on short notice. Kenneth verified over the phone they had it in stock....I drove in a short time later and he remembered the phone call we had earlier. We walked over towards where the grips are displayed .... He shows me the grip...."is that the one you're looking for?" "Yes".... He asks for the club in my hand and installs the grip himself!!!!!!! Who is this guy? AWESOME! The folks at Roger Dunn's are great. It's an awesome place to get fitted for clubs. I used to be a GolfSmith guy because it was close to my house. When they closed up I made the trek to Newbury Park. I went last year and got a putting lesson while deciding on which new putter to buy. Just recently they got me fitted (after two trips and 4-6 hours in the fitting bay) into some forged Mizunos and Titleist TS woods and I couldn't be happier. I worked with Leonard and he is a patient guy and knows his stuff. They had everything I needed and treated me great. Dan was very helpful and attentive. Very positive experience overall. The golf business is rough these days, but these guys are working hard for their customers. The 90 day return policy is legit. No strings. No hassles. I visited this shop yesterday 07/09/2020 and the customer service was terrible. I had a few questions regarding gloves and had waited several minutes for an employee to assist all while there was 3 employees at the front-end literally doing nothing. I was able to finally snag a young employee passing by who seemed immediately irritated when I asked for help. Not only was he not able to answer my questions, his go to answer when he didn't know was "it's just preference." All in all, the store itself is great if you have done your own research and know what you are looking for. Prices and selection is excellent. If you want amazing customer service, got to Bogey Bobs down the street and ask for a price match. read more

This place is alright. They have the gear you need.. but you kind of come in, and pick things out yourself. You can try the simulator on your own and other gear. Not too much expert advice when you arrive so do your research before you get there. Otherwise they have a good selection. read more

The customer service at Roger Dunn in Newbury is as good as it gets for me. I bought a used Taylormade M2 Tour 4 wood from them a month ago. A week or so after I purchased the used M2 Tour 4 wood I took it out to the range. I played a round with it. After the round I noticed that the face of the club cracked. I went to back to Roger Dunn to return the club. I wanted store credit. Instead Michael, and Nolan for RD identified the crack in the face as a defect. RD called Taylormade for me to notify them of the defect. Taylormade responded by sending me back a brand new M4 4 wood with a Kiyoshi shaft. Both RD, and TM went above, and beyond here. This would not have been possible without RD going the extra mile to call for me. Thank you again. I am a satisfied customer. p.s. For what it is worth I am a 5 handicap. I came in today to get my 3 wood regrouped. I stood back at the repair area for almost 10 minutes. I finally had to ask one of the 8 employees doing nothing if anyone was working back there. The man that helped me offered no apology and just took my club and finally started working on it. A moment later a Caucasian customer showed up and an employee came right over apologizing to him. I thought Tiger changed the good 'ole boy mentality of golf but I guess I was wrong. I'll never come back to this racist place! read more

Went in for a new club fitting. They made me feel welcome and we went right to the club hitting area. I hit several different brands of clubs and decided on the Calloway Marvik clubs. The main reason I decided to try new clubs was because I had lost so much distance sense turning 70 a few years ago. I still did not gain much distance with these new clubs but I did gain a little. Then the pro wanted me to try a senior shaft and I could believe the difference. I will never have the distance I did in my 50's but I'm back up to 150 with my 7 iron so I am very happy. I had purchased some grips and the return policy is your not allowed to return used grips even under the 90 days. Yuki and Chuck Along with the whole team were extremely helpful and replaced the grips at no charge, Due to a manufacturer's defect in the grips. Feeling discriminated against. As soon as I walk into this stupid store they ask for my little backpack (the small ones that are used as purses). I'm confuse, so I take my wallet out and leave the bag. Then, I see a lady walking out with a humongous purse and she didn't have to leave her bag. It feels extremely awful to be discriminated against guys. I just wanted to scream and cussed them all out. Instead, I tell them to give me my bag back and pointed out the lady with the big purse.
