When I walked in, the woman in the front was actually calling me at that moment to let me know our order was ready. You get an INSANE amount of food for two people with the meal deal. 2 entrees, 2 pc of fried shrimp, 2 pc eggrolls, a large container PACKED with fried rice, and a large container of the most delicious and comforting wonton soup. We got the Family Delight, Kung pao chicken, and We added a third entree so we could try the noodles. The third entree definitely wasn't necessary for just two people we now have leftovers for at least three days. The food was hot, ready when expected, packaged nicely, and delicious! We're so satisfied with this and will definitely be getting the meal for 2 again. I am seriously so surprised at how much they pack food into these containers! They're not stingy with takeout at all!

Inside the restaurant, the ambiance is casual. I ordered the Juicy pork dumpling($10.99 ) and Milk tea with boba ($4.49). The dumplings were very juicy and a little sweet. That would be nice if they had some ginger slices and black vinegar for the dumplings. About boba tea, it's good. I prefer the tea to be stronger. Boba tea was warm, which means it's fresh, but needed more ice. They always serve in to-go containers. This place is good for friends, couples, and families. Parking is in front of the restaurant.

The portions are generous, everything is super flavorful, and it really feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant experience. The ambience is great and you truly get a real taste of Asian cuisine. The restaurant itself is more high-end for Chinese and it's beautiful. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you order, but in my opinion it is completely worth it. Easily one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, if not the top one.

I politely asked if I could have rolls ,or salad instead. The staff member responded very rudely, saying, "The soup is complimentary. If you don't want the soup,it is your problem . We can't instead of soup give you rolls or salad." For me it sounds like "Take it or leave it." It wasn't about the soup--it was about the attitude and customer service. A little understanding and kindness would have gone a long way. Instead, I felt like my reasonable request was dismissed without any concern. I hope the management reads this review and realizes that the way customers are treated is just as important as the food.

Another delicious meal from Sesame Inn!…read more We've lived in the Suntree neighborhood in Newbury Park for 23 years, and have really enjoyed food from Sesame Inn (3327 Kimber) recently. Sesame Inn was owned for a long time by Jennifer and Paul, but went through two changes of ownership once they retired. A new couple, Ling and Shao Yung, now own Sesame Inn, and have kept the original recipes. The restaurant is currently carry-out only. Ling handles the phone and Shao Yung runs the kitchen. They're delightful! We've ordered most things on the menu (including the "secret" menu), but keep gravitating towards our favorites. Whenever we have out-of-town guests that have been here before, they always ask for carry-out from Sesame Inn. - 5 stars!

The shop has a few small tables situated, but found the floors dirty in multiple places and the overall smell was just not pleasant for such a small place. The table service was handled by an older woman, who may have been the manager. She was rude and curt towards us. When we were finished with our small bowl of the Asian style crunchy noodles and smaller bowl of duck sauce, we asked for more, and she informed us that we would have to buy a bag of noodles for $7 dollars. This is after we were seated and ordered our dinner. The orange chicken was over-fried and lacked taste, while my sweet and pungent shrimp was super soggy, almost relying on the sauce to act as the seasoning. Our pot stickers were ok .. but not great. They also had little to no flavour / seasoning .. and were dried out .. possibly over cooked, as well. I'm unsure if new management acquired this business, but it was not this way a few months ago. Seems like this place is beginning to penny pinch on the small things to save/make a few extra bucks. I so hope this place improves or turns around as I will check in now and again for good news! Thanks !

Upon entering I noticed how super clean & so were there restrooms . It's super organized & attention to details. Entering this restaurant is very beautiful inside it's very warm, cozy, chic, classy and elegant. You have choice to sit inside or outside so it's great to have that option too. As entered I saw my girl there Gopgap "Lisa" we were so happy to see each other again! She asked if we had any questions and we did & she answered them beautifully! They have some many things go choose from whether it's appetizers, soup, plates of fish, seafoods, curries, noodles, beef, chicken, vegetables, salads, fried rice, Mama's specials, wok dishes, side orders, drinks and desserts. Their price point are great too & with the portions they serve you it's amazing ! So we ordered Tofu & Vegetables Hot pot Soup, Pad Z Ew with tofu and substitute broccoli for carrots (Noodle dish), Catfish Curry with 2 rice cups, and dessert we got Mango and stick rice! All hands down amazingly delicious. It's so mouthwatering, savory & purely authentic! That why we love coming back here!! We got full very fast ha! Gopgap always asked if we needed anything & she was on it! Gopgap "Lisa" was so super sweet, helpful, kind, caring, super down to earth! Took the food home eating a couple bites and I also said to put the salad on the side they didn't at first even though it was on the special instructions, which I don't know they don't do it for Togo because I feel it's common knowledge that lettuce wilts when sitting with warm liquids, I digress. As I'm eating I realize the texture of the protein feels weird, ITS CHICKEN. Chicken isn't deathly adverse for me but I do have very uncomfortable lasting affects to my body and I avoid chicken if possible. They replaced my food when I went but the guy was argumentative and aggressively speaking over me and wouldn't let me get a word out. To me, I don't feel I was adequately compensated, for the experience or the mistake. They gave me a "free" Thai tea with coconut milk but at the end of the day I got sick from eating chicken. PS this is not the first time I've had a problem with this branch of Thai restaurant Mama rice in Ventura gave me spoiled milk with my Thai tea and I never posted a review because I got a refund. I deserved something better but it's ok I would avoid here for Togo if you're a vegetarian. Two stars for flavor and food being tasty but this is a big problem they need to be more attentive and less argumentative

I had to write a review because I knew one particular person was going to tarnish them because they didn't have that patience. As I suspected, he did. See the other review entry for today. It's definitely him. Let me share with you the chain of events I witnessed that allowed me to connect the dots so I can likely assume was him. With us other patrons waiting so patiently, because again, the manager was sharing with us how they were looking and was super apologetic. One can only tell you 10-15 mins but hey I knew I wasn't the only one there. Except for this guy who believed he was the only patron and should have been waited on hand and foot. He says 45 mins. I call BS. I was there. At the end of it all, he and his party walked out because 10-15 mins in a restaurant with patrons eating in and taking out was "too long." Thank goodness. Plus his attitude to some of the patrons was gross. The cherry on top was he was honking his horn to Mandarin Bistro for some reason as he was driving away. Um ok? In conclusion to that fool, YOU want private dining, stay your ass at home. For the rest of the Yelpers, if you want amazing chinese food while supporting small business in Newbury Park, I highly recommend Mandarin Bistro with utmost enthusiasm!
