Came for lunch their service was friendly and fast. It's a casual dining place with what seemed like a good amount of Togo orders. The food is very fresh, great flavors and good variety. Come hungry!

Everything I've tried here so far was delish and satisfying. However, for the size and quality of some dishes it's a little overpriced and I would think it'd be cheaper in Glendora, but probably not because of how little Shanghainese restaurants in this city compared to Arcadia/Rosemead/San Gabriel area etc. I would probably order takeout here once in a while. It's just on the pricier side compared to other spots in the cities I listed above.

Yummy place and good service. Lots of seating and means options. I got my veggie dumpling fix. I also loved that they had vegetarian hot and sour soup which is hard to find. Check it out!

Was craving dumplings but didn't want to do deal with the mall crowd for din tai fung. Found this place which was just a 10 minute drive from us and am obsessed! The food is so good and maybe even better than din tai fung. Their chili oil is so good and flavorful. It goes great with their juicy savory shrimp and pork dumplings which are my favorite. The pork chop fried rice is amazing and so comforting. I enjoyed the shanghai rice cakes with chicken and the beef tenderloin udon as well especially mixed with some of their fresh chili oil. The string beans with garlic has a great crunch texture with a perfect garlic aroma. The service for pick up and to dine in is great and efficient. I love how casual dining in is if you just want to enjoy a quick sit down meal. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant!

Jia Yan Dumpling House is a comforting dupling spot. The space is modern but cozy, the kind of restaurant where you can settle in without feeling rushed. It's clean, minimal, and inviting. Pork chop (4.5/5) Golden, audible crisp when you take your bite. The exterior had a beautifully seasoned crust; pepper-forward with just enough savoriness to keep you reaching back for another piece. The pork was also juicy and tender, definitely had me wanting to come back for more. Pork & Shrimp Spicy Wontons (4/5) Silky and comforting. The wrappers were soft and delicate, hugging a well-balanced filling. The sauce hit that trifecta of sweet, savory, and spicy without overpowering the dumplings themselves. It wasn't aggressive heat, it was more of a slow warmth that builds. Pork XLBs (3.5/5) Solid but slightly smaller than what I'm used to. The wrapper held together nicely, but I did wish there was a bit more broth and filling inside to really give that explosive soup moment. Still enjoyable, just not the star of the table as I hoped it would be Shrimp and Pork Shumai (5/5) This was the sleeper hit. Juicy in the best way. There was so much broth packed into the shumai that it exploded in my mouth. The filling was flavorful, tender, and deeply satisfying. I would come back just for this. Moodles with Minced Pork (3/5) Noodles had a great texture; oft, chewy, and comforting. I just wished the minced pork carried a bit more seasoning or punch to elevate the overall flavor. It felt like it was one step away from being something memorable. Overall, Jia Yan Dumpling House feels like a reliable neighborhood gem. Would definitely come back to work through more of the menu.

    10 Piece Pork XLB ($13.49)

I had a lovely experience at Jia Yan Dumpling House (Glendora). I ordered the Pork Xiao Long Bao ($13.49 - 10 pcs) and Beef Dumplings ($13.99 - 10pcs). It arrived hot, fresh, filled, and juicy. YUM! I arrived at Jia Yan Dumpling House (Glendora) on Thursday (around 11:36AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big. Staff is professional yet playful. It was funny how Staff became increasingly more friendly and giggly as I took food photos and short food video clips. Still, Staff worked hard. The Pork Xiao Long Bao item took about six minutes. About three minutes later, the Beef Dumplings arrived. As mentioned, I happily devoured the Pork Xiao Long Bao ($13.49 - 10 pcs) and Beef Dumplings ($13.99 - 10pcs). The Pork XLBs (aka: soup dumplings) are hearty, juicy, and satisfying. The Beef Dumplings are fresh, stuffed, and tender. My teeth easily glided through its juicy meat. This meal did not taste salty; rather, it all came fresh and picturesque. I had plenty of leftovers. It's a lot of food! Regarding ambiance, Jia Yan Dumpling House (Glendora) is well-ventilated and clean. It's also spacious with many, many tables. I also appreciated the light music that cheerfully chimed. However, the location felt somewhat old with its stained ceiling and worn down floor. I noticed a couple faint dirty shoe stains along the entrance. Still, the location felt welcoming and comfortable. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Jia Yan Dumpling House (Glendora). The food is fresh and delicious! If craving dumplings, I cheerfully recommend. I left full and happy. 4.8 out of 5

Jia Yan Dumpling House is the place to go if you're craving Ding Tai Fung food but don't want to wait hours to eat. It's in Glendora, has lots of seating, and serves the same food. I visited this place once when it was just opening, and I enjoyed the food then. A year later, I'm returning. I still really like the food! Unquestionably a fantastic place to savor the Beef Stew Noodles and Xiao Long Bao.

After a stroll in downtown Glendora, we were looking at restaurants to grab dinner at. We decided to give Jia Yan a try and upon walking into the restaurant, we were greeted right away by the staff. The restaurant was big with a lot of tables, clean as well, and staff was very courteous and friendly. They share a huge parking lot with other businesses, so parking wasn't an issue. We ordered Pork XLB, Noodles w/ Sesame Sauce, Chicken Fried Noodles, and Shrimp Pork Spicy Wontons. Noodles w/ Sesame sauce - Noodles were thin, had a good texture for each bite, and the sauce coated the noodles nicely. The sauce had a little bit of that numbing spiciness, which was a nice. Shrimp Pork Spicy Wontons - The wontons had a good amount of shrimp and pork filling and was cooked perfectly. However, the spicy sauce was lacking in my opinion. It wasn't as spicy as I'm used to when I order this dish at other restaurants and I would add some chili oil on top next time. Pork XLB - The dumplings had a good amount of filling and the wrapper was not thick. However, there wasn't a lot of soup inside the dumpling after taking the first bite and pouring out the soup into the spoon. Also, the dumplings wasn't pipping hot and the temperature was just warm. I will give them a huge plus on bringing out the freshly sliced ginger to go with the xlb. Chicken Fried Noodles - Good amount of sliced chicken and chicken was still moist after the stir fry with the noodles, onions, and cabbage. The noodles again had a good texture for each bite. The flavor was just ok. I would come back and give the other menu items a try.

I came here after going to a doctor appointment nearby. It's a nice alternative for Din Tai Fung or Thumbling if you're craving xiao long bao. I came here with my mom since she likes xiao long bao or juicy pork dumplings. We also got their hot and sour soup, seaweed and tofu salad, salt and pepper shrimp, egg fried rice, sauteed green beans, and sauteed cabbage. The hot and sour soup is not my favorite, I would not get it again but the sauteed green beans are crispy with a garlicky taste are good. We would come here just for their xiao long bao. The portion sizes for the dishes are fine for two people for no leftovers, they're around $15 a dish. They have a sister branch in Pomona. The staff is nice and the place is clean.

I was feeling under the weather so I wanted something warm. The place needs a little bit up upgrade. I ordered the chicken noodle soup and the bun. The soup was sobering I would consider comfort food. The bun was tasty but a little small in size. Overall good value

Jia Yan Dumpling House in Glendora was a fantastic meal from start to finish. Everything I tried was delicious, and the service was genuinely impeccable without feeling over the top. The pork XLB was excellent and perfectly cooked, and the hot and sour soup was packed with flavor and very satisfying. It's one of those places where every dish makes you more curious about what else you should have ordered. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.

I literally just moved into the area and I went to this place because it looks so similar to Din Tai Fung which I frequent... came on a Wednesday night at 6 pm and it was fairly empty! TBH, it taste very similar!!! Soooo similar I probably like this place better since it's closer and I don't have to wait too long. Plus the price point! Tried the black pepper beef filet 7/10 flavorful and good! Hits the meat craving just right Chicken xlb 9/10 sosososo good my favorite out of the meal Beef dumplings 8/10 - juicy and delicious Shrimp pork wonton spicy sauce 9/10 Cucumber salad 9/10 Chicken bun 9/10 The server was so nice, I added a sesame noodle Togo and all of our meal was under 100 bucks I will definitely be back!

Everything is good and absolutely savory so be ready for umami left and right. Personally for me, I'm a sucker for anything braised or fried so surprise surprise, we got a healthy dose of braised pork and fried seaweed fish! Both were absolutely salivating so if you're stuck between one or the other, just get both. Pan fried buns are also another guilty pleasure of mine, so be liberal with how much you order, you won't regret it. Stuff yourself silly with the buns, just try not to splash any soup onto yourself. Beyond those 3 dishes, we ordered some noodles and vegetables but meh, protein dishes are where it's at. So all in all, this is a palace fit for a king/queen like you, eat up, be merry, maybe come back for round 2!

The interior feels nice and lavish, and the dishes are served on these massive plates that really give off a luxury dining vibe. Servers were also nice for the most part. Food-wise, I ordered the yan du xian, xiao long bao, and a crab dish that came with the thin wraps usually used for duck. The xiao long bao was acceptable, though the flavor was definitely different from what I'm used to at other local spots like Din Tai Fung. Not bad, just different. The crab dish was actually pretty tasty and something I'd definitely order again. The yan du xian, unfortunately, was the weak point for me. I have this dish relatively often, so I had certain expectations going in. The soup had this strange stench to it that I can't really describe beyond just tasting "stinky." It may have been from the pork or bamboo shoots, though the pork itself tasted okay to me. Whatever it was, the flavor just felt off, and I'd probably skip that dish next time. Overall though, I still enjoyed the experience enough to maybe come back and try other dishes like the acorn fish and braised pork, but will need some time first to forget the yan du xian flavor...

I think they put too much dark soy sauce for coloring. the soup came last in a big clay bowl. tasty but the veggie is a little too soft/overcooked, and not enough bamboo shoots. when we asked for check, the server asked if we'd like to have some chinese dumpling desserts, compliments of the house. of course!!! it was another big bowl of sweet soup with egg flowers and lots of small sesame stuffed tang guan (dumpling). perfect ending!! this place is a staple in the n neighborhood for a long time. the food was always on par and price is reasonable. however, this time I felt the the presentation and flavors were not the same as before. we will still come back when we feel like a quick Shanghainese food.
