Apparently this restaurant is now known as Jeep Thai Eatery. I hadn't dined here for a while and decided to stop in for a quick dinner. When we arrived it was apparent the "chef@ was also the hostess. As a result we waited quite a while to be greeted and seated. I should note that the chef did arrive about thirty minutes later. I ordered the Waan Om Khom Kluean yellow chicken curry and my guest had the deeb Sao Thai Pad Thai with shrimp. I also ordered a Thai ice tea and the server forgot to bring it. I had to remind her after my meal was almost finished. To me the chicken curry had a terrible unappetizing presentation. It looked like shredded chicken and big lumps of potatoes. In fast that's what it was. While the taste was pretty good, the over abundance of potatoes felt like a filler for less chicken. It was a decent dish but far from one of my favorites. The Pad Thai looked a lot better. My guest said it was good, not great, and that he'd order it again. Now to the price. Nearly $70 including the two dishes, one Thai ice tea and rice. This was not fine dining. I realize they have bills to pay but it was much more than I've paid at other Thai restaurants for similar meals. All parking is on the street. One need a bit of courage to park on PCH as passing cars make it scary to open the driver's door. Cars were flying by in the 40's and 50's and it's a very unsafe parking location. read more

While the somewhat smaller portion of BBQ chicken was shockingly juicy and tasty, the other dishes left much to be desired. Our larb salad was painfully salty to the point where it couldn't be enjoyed on its own and the kang kio wan curry was somehow watery and bland. Both the pork and beef were overcooked and tough. I've finally had the opportunity to stop by and try this place out. I have always driven by it on PCH but because the street is busy most of the time, I avoid stopping but not today. I love the interior decor and ambience. It's super home-y and cozy. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the pad see ew (spicy) plus a large Thai iced coffee. The pad see ew was delicious and packed with flavor. I loved the amount of spicy it was, perfect, not too much and not too weak. Just right! I loved the texture of the noodles and was impressed with the bright color and freshness of the broccoli. The Pat see ew was overcooked to a point that it tasted burnt, and the shrimp in the noodle tasted old. The chicken in the curry was hard to chew and the potatoe was still kinda hard. Such a beautiful restaurant with food so flavorful it'll change your idea on what food should taste like. I'm saddened to think I can't make a meal this good at home because truly this was a one of a kind experience. The service was really great and the entire meal was perfect. No complaints to be had! I have seen this place for years and always comment on the name... Which I Love! We were looking for a new Thai place so I suggested Siam I Am. My only complaint is that it took me so long to come here. We love it and have been 3 times in the past month :) This is a tiny place with just 3 tables in a very small dining room, it feels like one of those little restaurants in East Hollywood/Thai Town and is just as good as any of them. I think they have tables outside sometimes but not when I've been there. They also have a busy pickup/delivery business if you live nearby. You can order a Thai Ice Tea with no ice for an extra charge. This is some of the best Thai Tea I've ever had! The extra charge is definitely worth it because I don't like the melting ice to dilute the flavor and I didn't end up ordering a second one... which normally do :) But it's really about the food right! So far, we have had the Chicken Satay, Spicy Pork Fried Rice, Orange Chicken, Cream Cheese Wontons, Roasted Duck Curry & Pad Thai. Every single thing has been fresh & delicious!! My favorite dishes so far are the Spicy Fried Rice & Chicken Satay. They make a really good Chicken Satay but order it right away because it takes a while to come out. But it is sooooo worth it :) The service is very friendly and attentive. Street parking only and it can be hard to find a spot on PCH, but we've been lucky so far and found spots close by. read more

Man i used to love this place and order take out or delivery all the time. I think it's time to go back to another local Thai place (Phuket Thai, Yum Thai, Thai Dishes). Ordered delivery tonight and over the last few orders the portions are becoming microscopic. Used to be like 2 meals in one entree and the tray for the broccoli with beef was a third full, and the plastic bowl for the curry wasn't half way full and had literally no chicken. I recently experienced my first time dining here and I already know it's going to be my new favorite spot. I came here with a friend and shared a wonton soup, calamari, and mango sticky rice. I know my first time dining choices of wonton soup & calamari weren't the most traditionally Thai dishes to choose from but they were done so well. The mango sticky rice here is probably one of the best I've had in the area. Interior is small but so charming. They have limited indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of street parking. It's been five years since my last review. It's still a staple in my a few times a month when I've that Thai food craving. I do enjoy my food spicy and for deliveries I would say "extra, extra, spicy please" to see how far and hot it comes. So far, I've been impressed with my custom notes. But onto the food. I would typically get the pad thai with a fried egg on top or curry. Honestly the food tastes amazing all the time and when your in Redondo beach pay them a visit or order takeaway. Anyone who rates this Thai restaurant below a five stars is a fool, and doesn't know what they're talking about. This is a phenomenal restaurant. I drive up all the way from San Diego for the sole purpose of having the yellow chicken curry. The pad Thais is phenomenal While I'm upset that they got rid of the barbecue chicken. There's so many other things on the menu that can replace it. Bbq grilled pork ribs were served cold. They offer to "reheat" up for you; admitting it is not made fresh. Steamed dumplings tasted old, tough, and bland. Why I'm not going to recommend this business is because the food is very poor. I had crab cakes, pad tai and green curry. First of all there's little authenticity to this food-- with little regard to traditional ingredients which are supposed to be the hallmark of all Asian not to mention Thai dishes. Second the food was served warm even though I was the only person in the restaurant. The green curry incidentally wasn't even green -- just served milk white. Lastly the price. Came out to stay with the hubby & we both were hungry & he asked if I wanted to try this lil place out because he really liked it wanted me to try it so I called ahead & the young lady talked to me like we were besties! That was so nice!!So last night we went & OMG this place is such a cute lil jem!! The ambiance was so relaxing after my very ruff drive here.. & they had a table ready us soo awesome!! The service was so on point very nice smiling helpful & answered any questions. The food OMG THE FOOD was DELICIOUS we got the pineapple fried rice it had bits of chicken cashews soo yummy! Kinda had a chopstick dulled over it lol! We got the roasted duck curry that also was delicious! Nice good chunks of pineapple in it & it was so flavorful we ate it all!! This review was for take-out. The rose iced tea was so bad. It tasted like sugar water with some pink dye and barely had any rose flavoring. Not worth 4.50 at all. We also ordered pad see yew, pineapple fried rice, tom kha soup, and coconut sticky rice, which were all ok. Not bad but not spectacular. When I asked for hot sauces, the guy seemed hella stingy about it. He only gave me 1 sriracha and 1 chili in fish sauce. No jalepenos in vinegar sauce. Siam I Am is a hidden gem in the South Bay! We have enjoyed our dinner at Siam I Am every time we visited. The restaurant is really tiny with 4 tables, but it can get really busy with all the to-go and delivery orders. The host/waitress was very dedicated to her job and despite all the crazy phone calls and to-go orders, she always managed to come around the tables and asked patrons how they liked our food. Food: the food portion is decent and the price is very affordable. They have a new "street food" menu. I tend to over-order and end up with lots of leftover food. So this "street food" menu really helps me to not only order everything I would like to eat but also in smaller portions. They have street food side dishes (see below for the side dish papaya salad) along with regular portion dishes (see below for the red curry). The combination of a regular dish and a side dish were perfectly portion for me. One dish I would like to point out as a person who is not Thai but enjoy Thai cuisine a lot is the red curry at Siam I Am. In comparison with my previous experience at a different Thai restaurant nearby, Siam I Am's red curry is cooked with the perfect level of sweetness. They really know how much sugar/paste to put in that pot. Prior to trying red curry at Siam I Am, I had ordered red curry at the Thai restaurant down on PCH (closer to Torrance/PV area). I had such a horrible experience with the red curry there that I am pretty sure that the chef mistakenly dumped a whole jar of sugar in that red curry. Although Thai red curry is suppose to be sweet, the sugar level should be kept at a level where it shouldn't overpower the curry taste or other spices, or become a sugar soup. Siam I Am has been consistent with their red curry, and definitely recommend people to try the red curry here. There are a lot of Thai restaurants in the South Bay, and we have tried almost all of them since we sometimes eat late and Thai restaurants tend to open til late. However, Siam I Am's food quality, flavor consistency, dish portion and price by far the best among all Thai places we have tried in the South Bay. read more

Parking- Can be a little challenging on the place is on PCH. I ended up parking around the corner on a side street and walking up but it was no big deal. Eat in or to go- The place is very small with 3 tables. You could eat in but are taking your chances that if the 3 tables are full it might be a little while before one opened up. Pricing- Decent. I did think that for a small kind of hole in the wall kind of place that the prices might have been just a little cheaper. It's been quite the time since I had Thai food, almost four years and "I am Siam" did not disappoint. Authentic cuisine was very tasty and relatively inexpensive. Definitely, the local neighborhood favorite. I am glad I finally walked in. I chose the pork chow mein and it was delicious. The coconut noodle soup was satisfying and filled me with the comfort that I was searching for, I AM Siam is definitely worth stepping into this small cafe for a taste of some epic Thai.
