    Pho (#14) - Combination
    Kay L.

Delicious! I think I found my favorite pho spot in South Bay. It's not a large sit down restaurant, you order at the kiosk, and pay at the kiosk, but the pho is DELICIOUS! I always get the combination to see the beef texture and quality first, and it did not disappoint. I was a tad bit disappointed the beef on top wasn't rare when it first came out, but I don't care about it that much. I don't try anything else so I don't have an opinion on the other items. I would say the portion is a tad bit small for the price but I guess it's closer to the ocean so there is that. Service, nice. I'm a "eat fast and get out" kind of customer so I don't need much in terms of service unless it's Michelin star. Again kiosk style but he did come and check up on me, which is nice. i wouldn't say come here for a 5 star date but if you want good no BS pho, it's definitely worth a try. Older lady cleans the table, felt a tad sad cause it reminded me of my mom, but I'm sure the male waiter (maybe son, I'm guessing who knows) probably does the heavy lifting in the back. Conclusion. Restaurant is small, sits maybe 16-20 people max. But definitely would go again! Fast and delicious. Reasonable price for pho in the South Bay.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it! The Thai tea was my absolute favorite. It was so good and creamy and not too sweet. Additionally, the servers were very friendly and attentive, and the pho was super tasty. I only wish there had been more beef -- the portion of meat was a bit on the lighter side. Overall, I think this is going to become one of my new favorite spots!

Strangely, I didn't notice this place. Its a small cozy place. Stopped by for a quick lunch and ran into a few friends. The bun was great!

I ordered the Bahn Mi #1 and #3. The bread was stale and dry. The meat and was very minimal. For the price I would get a decent sandwich elsewhere. The pork did not taste like anything good and was rubbery.

Nice atmosphere. The soup was a bit salty. But over all it was good. I would definitely come back here to try different items from the menu. They provide fast friendly service.

If you're looking for high-quality meat in your bowl of pho, look no further! This place has the best meat for pho that I've found. We've been eating here since last year, and we've never been disappointed. The quality of the meat is excellent, and the quantity of noodles or vermicelli is generous for the price! I can't speak for the other dishes, as I always stick to their pho.

This spot is like casual casual. It's a sit down, order ur food, and dip kind of restaurant. For one, it's small inside. Second there isn't any music playing so ur kinda just there taking in white noise and think to ur self. U can pay upfront or one of the workers will go to u. So this place isn't ideal if ur looking for something romantic or "fine dining" or fancy kind of vibe. Nothing wrong that. It's like a cute shop or a picnic which I love. Ur just there chilling and eating ur food. The workers are nice and super attentive too. U can tell they mean well and want to make every customer happy which is so heartwarming for me. These dudes are working hard and just trying to earn a living which I respect. Food here tastes good and if u like Pho, u shouldn't be disappointed

I haven't been here for over 4 years so decided to do take out since they have a very small dining area and it's 6 of us. I ordered the Pho brisket and ribeye, pork and egg roll vermicelli, and shrimp spring rolls. Everything was good just not how I remembered it. Maybe it was an off day? Might give them another try?

    Rare steak pho... So delicious.
    Jenna S.

Unfortunately, it seems like they may have changed ownership or management and the dine-in experience is not quite the same. I came in about 7:30 on a Friday. Their website and Yelp page says they're open until 11PM on Friday, but this is not the case. The waitress rushed me to order and pay immediately at the counter. After I sat down, she was turning people away or making them order to go. They should definitely update their posted hours. The food came out extremely fast and was good, but the noodle portion seemed much smaller than it used to be and the rare steak seemed different. The table next to me commented on this as well. They thought maybe it was brisket instead of rare steak but neither of us wanted to say anything as we felt pretty rushed to finish up before 8 as the waitress kept saying they close at 8. Also, I noticed the windows/glass doors were very dirty and smudged, a small detail, but it just seemed like the attention to detail wasn't there like it used to be. Maybe this experience was a fluke? This has always been my favorite Pho spot in the area, so I'll give it another try.

My husband and I are new to town. After an exhausting day unpacking and cleaning we did not feel like dining in. We drove around trying to find something to eat and take away.We came upon this spot tucked inside a strip mall. Menu has just the right amount of choices though I would have liked some spare ribs! We ordered combination pho and combination banh mi and combination fried rice- all deliciously prepared. My husband enjoyed the fresh flavors and I devoured my sandwich. Tomas, the manager was very kind and helpful taking our order. We checked in for the free caramel flan but they were sold out! Will be back to try some other dishes soon.

    Ross W.

Ribeye pho was really good but the inside is really small and a little hot so we sat at the one table outside right next to the parking lot where there's a decent amount of parking. The food came out pretty quickly and the service was good. The spicy sauce made it pretty hot which I liked!

This is our second visit to PhoPCH. Have to admit, their pho tai was disappointing this time around. The volume was what other places would consider small and their steak was not very good. The beef was precooked and was very tough and thick with lots of fat on it. Usually it's thinly sliced and raw for the broth to cook it. Also they only had three slices of beef. For $14.75 it wasn't worth it. Their service is still good with him always greeting you and asking if there's anything else you'd need. Be aware that the restaurant is very small with limited seats. Not sure if I'd go back again next time. Plenty of pho places to try with better meat.

    How is the pho broth?

The pho broth is the best in town. They make it fresh daily and is slow cooked for long hours to offer all the health benefits. Honestly the best authentic Vietnamese bone broth full of flavor.

If you love great meat, a seriously good burger and a gourmet market you can easily get lost in,…read moreThe Butchery in Manhattan Beach needs to be on your South Bay food list. The Butchery is part premium butcher shop, part gourmet market and part "I only came in for one thing and somehow bought dinner for the weekend." The meat cases are filled with gorgeous steaks, chops, roasts, sausages and beautifully marbled cuts that will make you immediately reconsider whatever you were planning to cook for dinner. And you can tell that quality is the whole point here. The cuts are beautiful, the selection is impressive, and the people behind the counter actually know their meat. This is definitely not a grab-a-random-steak-and-hope-for-the-best situation. Then there's the gourmet market. This is where things get dangerous. Specialty foods, cheeses, sauces, seasonings, pantry finds and all kinds of gourmet goodies you didn't know you needed until approximately three seconds after seeing them. The quality of the beef makes all the difference. It's incredibly flavorful with those crispy, caramelized smashed edges, then topped with perfectly melted white American cheese and garlic aioli. So yes, go to The Butchery in Manhattan Beach for the premium meats and gorgeous steaks. Go for the gourmet market and all the things you didn't know you needed.

When the Butchery opened up a couple of years ago, I was curious. It took about 6 months after opening for me to step in. At first impression, I thought the store to be clean, organized, and just gives you the confidence that you're about to get some of the freshest, cleanest, and most high quality meats out there. I didn't buy anything though, instead, I ordered The Butchery Burger with a side of fries to go. In a world that is consumed by smashed burgers, the Butchery Burger is a restaurant quality burger, with a nice thick juicy patty. The burger bun was soft, pillowy, and sweet-- paired with some fresh arugula and tomatoes to cut the richness of that juicy beef patty. The burger comes with a side of beef tallow fries. Speaking of fries-- those beef tallow fries are some of the best I've ever had. Have you ever had a McDonald fry, where the end is a cubed, stubby nubbin. The texture is super crunchy, shatter-crisp, and golden brown. Now imagine that -- but instead of just the end piece, but rather a whole fry-- every single fry. It's salty, crispy, deliciousness with the warm buttery smell of beef tallow. Mmmm... simple perfection! ** Note, I'm sure these are likely one of the most unhealthy fries, but we all have to treat ourselves some time!*** All that on just the Butchery Burger and its fries. It was so good, I had to go back for more-- my 2nd time around, I got the smashed burger. The smashed burger was just as delicious as the Butchery Burger-- just very different. Since the burger came with grilled onions w/ cheese and a nice thick spread of garlic aioli, make sure to add pickles to your pickle to cut through some of that richness and decadence. Upon first bite, it didn't occur to me that the spread was garlic aioli; I actually thought it was a ton of mayo. But it had a garlic and oniony flavor with a bit of sweetness that left me confused and perplexed. I had to keep going back for more. Besides the smash burger, I also grabbed some frozen oxtail and some Argentine shrimp. everything looked super fresh and I can't wait to cook them up! The Butchery is definitely worth a trip-- even if you're not coming for the meat, check it out for the hot foods-- w/ the burgers and fries being the first item to try. You won't regret it!
