I was excited to try a new brunch spot in HB, but it definitely has room for improvement. We sampled their brunch (see the picture below) -- I ordered the huevos rancheros, while my partner got the eggs Benedict. Unfortunately, my huevos rancheros were quite bland and lacked some key ingredients. I've tried this dish at various brunch places, and this is the first time I didn't finish my food. It's frustrating to waste food! That said, this place is new in town and has a trendy vibe, so I'll definitely visit again. Next time, I'll probably stick to safer options like their pastries and coffee. Hopefully, the brunch dishes will improve with more ingredients and flavor!

Came across this spot as I was walking to my car from Proudly Serving and I couldn't resist checking it out! The inside had a very modern feel and had hella outdoor seating to enjoy the beach views. I was super full from lunch, but just had to try out some of their pastries! The staff there was super helpful in suggesting some options and i decided on the rocky road cookie. Not too sweet and had amazing flavor! I also had this 7 layer dessert that was pretty damn good too lol. I will definitely be back to try more!

Disappointed by the service at the coffee shop. I just asked, is this my breakfast sandwich? " I have no idea" and walked away. Try harder.

Was looking for a breakfast place that was reasonably priced and served good food, and I Came across this spot. I ordered the ultimate Bolt sandwich with avocado. The sandwich was really good and the bacon perfectly crispy, just the way I like it. Overall great experience. (Slightly pricey)

Homemade chocolate chip walnut cookie and a hot mocha

I love this place! I got a hot mocha and a piece of their homemade chocolate and walnut cookie that was yummy. We tried the Ultimate Bolt Breakfast Sandwich. Sadly they were out of their homemade cheddar biscuits so I got it on their homemade English muffin. WOW! It was yummy! Their shoestring fries were perfect as I like them. I hope to come back soon!

The BOLT Breakfast Burrito with a healthy dose of cholula's

Stopped by for a quick breakfast with a friend. You order at the front counter & they give you a number to bring to a table of your choosing. The cashier informed us it would be about 20min-25min wait since they were backed up on orders. The place wasn't busy at all so I thought that was a little odd and it wasn't a weekend, but maybe they are short staffed. The store is cutely decorated and a nice spot for breakfast. We chose to sit outside since it was a nice sunny day. We both ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage. It was yummy & a decently sized burrito. Love that they put a large piece of sausage inside. Their other menu items seem interesting as well, so if I'm ever back in the area, I may want to try something else.

I'm giving it four stars overall, but that last star really comes down to the service. I always try to bring a warm vibe, even spoke Spanish hoping to get a little friendliness back, but it just wasn't there. Nothing rude, just kind of cold and unwelcoming, which stands out more when you're by the beach and expecting that easygoing energy. Now the food... surprisingly good. Not mind-blowing, but good in that satisfying, "okay this hits" kind of way. And the portions? Huge. It honestly feels like you're getting two burritos in one because of how they wrap it. That alone makes it worth it. If you're hungry, you will not leave disappointed. Big shoutout for opening early too, because that's clutch for a breakfast burrito spot near the beach. You can grab your food, sit outside, and just enjoy the morning vibe, which is exactly what you want in that area. The outdoor seating is a nice touch and definitely adds to the experience. If I could give one piece of feedback, it would just be to the front staff, a smile and a little warmth would go a long way. Everything else is there, the location, the portions, the convenience. With a better first impression, this place could easily be a five.

The outdoor seating right by the sidewalk, just a few small tables is perfect for a leisurely morning. They're open early morning until about 3 p.m., so it's a great place for a late breakfast or lunch. Just be aware that the parking is in a large lot shared with beach parking, so you'll need to pay for it. As soon as you order, they get to work. my burrito was ready in just a few minutes. Everything was fresh, and I loved that I could customize my taco or burrito just the way I wanted. The prices were very reasonable, too. The food quality was good although not outstanding, but definitely solid. Inside, it's a bit hit or miss. the air can feel a little stuffy, and it's not the cleanest, but it's fine for a casual visit. One letdown: they don't have fresh agua fresca, and the coffee is just self-serve, sitting there for who knows how long. Still, I really enjoyed it overall especially the sweet lady at the counter, who was so kind. I love supporting this hardworking local business.

Everyone was wanting to get a seat at Martha's! I only waited about 20 minutes if that. Not too shabbyyyy ! I started with an iced Spanish latte as I love my Spanish lattes. This is where everything started going downhill. First sip, questionable. Second sip, even more questionable. Mix the coffee with the straw for a minute, another sip, even worse. It tasted like I was drinking the water from a burnt coffee bean with a hint of cinnamon. It was NOT good. I was very sad. I ended up ordering an iced chai latte as a secondary choice.. because how hard is it to mess up a chai? WELP. It was managed to be messed up as well. How?! Martha girl, who was making the drinks this day, cause nuh uh, more training now. The iced chai latte was watery. It did not resemble a chai at all, even the color was weird. I took 2 sips and never finished either drink. I had my counterpart try it-- mind you, I took a sip and gave no reaction to not bias my counterpart. Once they tried it, they were just as astonished to how horrible both drinks were. They ordered the banana bread latte. oh my-lanta. Artificial, sweet, sour banana flavor, he had it switched out for a blended pump shake that was much better-- REALLY sweet, but they loved it. For the breakfast option, I ended up ordering the huevos playa. The hashbrowns were cooked evenly and tender. The sauce/salsa it was sitting in. not it. you're not that guy pal. tasted like pace salsa from a jar or something. that weird salsa taste that makes you aware that it is not home made. I did not like it whatsoever. The sour cream, guac and eggs were the only thing I enjoyed out of this dish. I would not order this again. The cinnamon pancake was the only thing that saved the experience, but even then, $17 for a singular pancake is absolutely insane. Overall, I was extremely, and I mean extremely, disappointed. I wish it lived up to all the social media hype that is around, but my taste buds were extremely unhappy leaving. Service was great, the lady removed the banana bread latte off our bill for not liking it, but I stayed with my 2 awful drinks. I ended up going to a coffee shop to fill my Spanish latte cravings after leaving. Parking is on the street, metered. fills up FAST.

Hubbers and I had a mid-week day free, and with a couple of pups on hand, we brainstormed and…read morethought about where to spend that free time. Hermosa Beach it is. And Hubbers suggested this place for a late-ish lunch because he's been here before and had a positive experience. Outdoor seating only since we had the furballs. We had our choice of where since we were the only customers on a late lunch hour. Servers were so patient with our pups (even when they were moody - my apologies!) and were even nice enough to bring them water bowls! It was a cool and cloudy day, but that didn't damper anything. In fact, we appreciated it coming off the heat wave from the last couple of weeks! Everything on their menu looked so good, it took me awhile to decide. But Hubbers and I agreed on the Kayak Tide Tray (+4 extra oysters) and the charred watermelon salad. In the meanwhile, I battled between lobster pasta and five dragon pastrami. (The pasta won out.) Hubbers went for the cedar planked Ora king salmon. And a couple of cocktails to wash it all down! KAYAK TIDE TRAY: The seasoned scallops were my favorites, hands down. The sauce was fantastic and didn't overpower the scallops' main essence. The oysters were shucked fresh and the sauces elevated the flavors a bit. Shrimps were chilled tender and had a nice chew. Cocktail sauce added flavor. The mussels? Sad to say, but half of them were served still frozen hard. So we took our time with it and let it thaw out which didn't happen until we were halfway our meal. Overall: excellent. CHARRED WATERMELON: This plate was so well put together! And not only is it pleasing to the eyes (nice touch with the micros!), it was the same with the palate. Watermelon was fresh. Charred only on one side (I'm curious what it would be like if they charred ALL the sides - will make this request - only if possible - next time!) Taking bites from each component of this salad makes all the difference: the acidity of the tomatoes are tempered by the burrata and the cucumbers, and the freshness of the watermelon makes it all refreshing. The onions added a bit of tart, as did the pomegranates. Didn't notice any macadamia nuts, but no matter! This is a must have! LOBSTER PASTA: Didn't happen... see below. LOBSTER ROLL: Served along with Hubbers' salmon plate (more on that later.) We had a different server at this point (our first one told us he was going on his break.) I thought Hubbers put in an order of this too, so I moved the plate to his side. Our server noticed this and said, "Are you sharing? Would you like an extra plate?" Hubbers confirmed he didn't other this. And that neither did I, but we are waiting on the lobster pasta. He then explained they are out of that dish, "was this not related to you?" Long story short, I told him I'd take the roll, no biggie. He offered to comp it, and if I like, I can put in another order. So I went for the pastrami. And as we waited for that, Hubbers and I split this and WOW. Bread was toasted and buttered perfect, generous with the amount of lobster, plating was a delight to the eyes, and overall delicious. I appreciated the aroma of the tarragon. Yum! FIVE DRAGON PASTRAMI: This is a generous serving, plenty to share with another. Lots of flavors with each bite but the well-seasoned and flavored pastrami dominates them all. The slaw was strong but the subtleness of the lappi balanced it out. Sourdough was perfectly toasted. I thought about not ordering this since I knew the lobster roll might have been enough, but I'm sure glad I went for it! Delish! Hubbers let me have a couple of bites off his salmon plate and O.M.G.!!! He sure picked a good one! Skin was seasoned crispy and the fish was so moist! This is probably one of the best versions of salmon I've had. (For the record, I rarely order anything salmon since 90-95% of the time, they're served dry, but this one here, I'd highly recommend.) FOOD: 4.75. SERVICE: 5. They were AMAZING!!! VALUE: 4. Given the location, pricing is understandable. But worth it. PARKING: Street/Structure only. All metered. And getting here will require a bit of a walk depending on where you parked. OVERALL: 4.5. Plans on coming back here with more people is now in the works. Looking forward to doing that soon!

I'm an adult woman, almost 48, and I don't appreciate being told how I should behave in a disrespectful way. At one point, an employee even told me not to talk to other customers--even when they were the ones starting conversations with me. That felt like bullying. Thankfully, that employee is no longer there, but the overall attitude still hasn't fully improved. I've been bringing my two dogs with me for a long time without any issues. Recently, I was told I can't use the bathroom anymore--even just to quickly wash my hands before eating. I understand rules about dogs not being allowed in certain areas, and that was explained properly, but the way everything was handled felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Because of this shift in attitude, I've noticed other customers have stopped coming as well, like Alex and Trisha. Some people have even mentioned that the overall environment and customer treatment aren't as good as they used to be. It's disappointing, because this used to be a place I really liked. Now it feels like the attitude has changed, and not in a good way.
