Delicious hibiscus tea

I am so excited about this place. What a hidden gem! The caprese sandwich is delicious, I love the drinks, the hibiscus tea is my favorite. The peaceful, calm interior almost feels spa like. The staff is extra helpful and always friendly. I plan to go there daily for my tea

Covinten is exactly what Hermosa Beach needed. The moment you walk in, you feel the care and intention behind everything -- from the friendly staff to the beautifully balanced drinks. My coffee was smooth, flavorful, and clearly crafted with pride. The space is bright, inviting, and perfect for slowing down or getting a little work done. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Drinks menu

Covinten Café is a really nice surprise in Hermosa Beach. It has this laid-back tropical feel, but there is also a subtle French vibe going on that makes it feel a little more special than your usual coffee stop. I had the sangria tea and loved it. It was super refreshing and not overly sweet, and the edible flower was such a cool touch. It actually tasted fresh and clean, not just something thrown in for looks, which made the whole drink feel thoughtful and different. The place is welcoming, the kind of place you want to sit for a bit instead of rushing out. Definitely feels like something new for the area, and I will for sure be coming back.

J.'adore coffee drink

The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The drinks were also very good with perfect presentation . The soft music and the exquisite decoration made it feel very upscale. The service was top notch. I would definitely return.

Ricotta berry pancakes. Really good and filling!

Fancy looking place with great tasting and visually appealing food. Ordered the ricotta pancakes and am pleased with what I got.

Everything about this place is beautiful! They executed such an immaculate ambiance here! The food and pastries options are great and several steps above what other places have to offer. They are very nice here and I loved my experience. I'm glad I was able to stop by while I was in town. I would come again! I hope they have great success!

I had a pretty solid positive outlook on them. I ordered the "French Toast Latte". I feel like it should have been called the Burnt toast latte. I genuinely took 3 sips and tossed it away in the trash can on the side walk. I tried to mix it and grabbed a straw to do so and it made it WORSE. I'm extremely disappointed that I wasted $7 on a latte. I've had bad coffees before, but this one took the cake. It tasted like milk, and the espresso tasted acidic, burnt have you. At least with other bad coffees I could stomach at least half of it but this was just really acidic. I noticed other people mentioning the coffee scene in LA isn't the same anymore and this attested to that. They started picking up foot traffic & I wasn't going to wait to ask for a remake or anything, I took the L and life moves on. I wasn't going to play Karen about it. The Lamington pastry somewhat saved the experience. This was an extremely moist, spongy, sweet cake that was delicious with coconut flakes on top. She was AMAZING. I snagged a piece off my friends and it was reeallllly good. I would recommend if you like coconut and a softer spongy cake like pastry! Talk about the underdog in this trip. The aesthetic is cute, it's clean and resembles a house. I like the scheme they have going on. The other half looks like a gift shop that I did not go into. They have a restroom available as well inside. Customer service was just customer service. Nothing amazing or bad about it. Pretty standard. We mentioned it's our first time & the girl didn't really care lol. We had questions and it was very whatever kind of vibe. No enthusiasm. Parking would be on the street so good luck!

You get that laid-back beach vibe with a great view, and it's ideal whether you're grabbing a quick bite before heading back to the sand for volleyball or settling in for a chill remote work session. It really feels like a local staple--easy, consistent, and exactly what you want when you're trying to eat well but still enjoy the whole Manhattan Beach lifestyle.

All the servers were warm and beyond the usual helpfulness. My friend saw an empty table they needed to be wiped so she asked a server for a towel to wipe it. He immediately said, "No, I'll do it." And he grabbed a towel and wiped in extra well with a smile. Two of us ordered the Buddha vegan bowl (9/10; quinoa was fluffy, tofu was tasty but a little firm for me, everything else about it was fresh and well-done. The mushroom serving was my favorite part.) My friend ordered the Beef Macro bowl (9/10: beef was the best part and everything else was good. The wild rice was tender; but it tastes "healthy"). My last friend ordered the salmon bowl (9/10: all of us raved about the salmon. Had the same wild rice. I liked it but my friend said it was too soft for her. The rest of the items that came with it were similar and tasty). Before I left, Molly helped me order a mushroom reishi hot chocolate drink. Molly was so sweet and helpful. She recommended the homemade almond milk. (8/10). The ambiance was warm and cozy. I loved the multi-level structure. Therefore, the name, "The Hive". Cute design and a good place to bring a computer and have a quiet spot to chill.

I usually order their Iced Americano made with their house espresso which has a slight taste of honey. I like my drinks cold and appreciate that it always comes to me with ice in it and not mostly melted like some other places. Their seasonal Pistachio Honey Latte is also really good, I would recommend that hot or iced. The cashiers have been very friendly to me and willing to make suggestions if I ask for help. The baristas are also nice and they consistently make my drinks really well even when the cafe gets really busy. The one down side is the small parking lot, but I can usually find street parking nearby if the lot is full. Overall, I consistently come back to this cafe for their coffee, pastries and sandwiches.

The space plenty big with lots of chairs, benches, and tables. I will come back later to sample their pastries. Enjoy!

So when we heard they were opening a new location in the Redondo Village, we were excited. Even more so to learn they'd be offering dinner and cocktails as well. The moment I closed the menu, a server was right there ready to take our order. It was really busy when we visited, so we expected a wait for our food, but no, 10 minutes later our omelette and eggs Benedict arrived. A few minutes after that, the owner stopped by to chat, and we learned how they were able to open the restaurant so quickly.
