Clean spot, great location! It is very close to the Manhattan Beach pier and so convenient to get to. I grabbed myself a double kids' scoop because I wanted to try two different flavors of ice cream, and did not want to get too big of a serving. The staff are very friendly and they offer free tasting of whatever flavor you want before you make a decision so that helps. The coffee love nuts and salted malted chocolate chip are delightful!
My work bestie got me completely hooked on Salt & Straw, so now it's a mandatory stop anytime we travel! This Manhattan Beach location did not disappoint. They let you sample all the fun flavors (which is half the experience!), and my bestie was reunited with her beloved berry flavor while I fell in love with that delicious strawberry waffle cone. Even with another ice cream shop across the street that had a huge line, we stayed loyal to Salt & Straw and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
I tried the seasonal Raspberry Marzipan Princess Cake which is Vegan and it was delicious! Fruity, but not too tangy with moist cake bits which I love. The ice cream was also pretty creamy and not too hard. I also tried the Birthday Cakes & Blackberries and the Melon & Prosciutto flavors and these were good as well. The Salt & Straw chain will always be a go-to ice cream chain for me with innovative flavors that they regularly change, good quality ice-cream, large portions, and multiple sampling available.
The shop has a great spot pretty close to the beach. Great spot to cool off. The flavors and quality are your standard salt and straw, nothing crazy here
Yum! I love going to Salt & Straw but this one's nice because it's by the beach and in a cool walking area with a bunch of restaurants and shopping stores. There was a line when I went on a Saturday evening but the line moves quickly. I got their limited time Hong Kong Milk with one of their popular the sea salt caramel. I wasn't too much of a fan of the Hong Kong Milk one but it was different but I understand why the sea salt is one of their most popular. Next time I will get their Coffee one because the lady helping us said it's one of their most popular ones and I love coffee. There is some seating inside but not outside or at least during the time we went.
Yum yum yummmm'! I had the carmelized plantain and spicy pecan toffee with chocolate gooey brownie. Simply divine! I had to try a new flavor while enjoying a classic. The staff welcomes sampling to help you find the flavor just for you. The sample spoon return is along the side wall. Innovative and keeps the counters and ice cream stations separate and sanitary. Can't wait to come back and try some more flavors!
Amazing. One of the best ice creams I ever tasted and I frequent Italy. The best flavor I tried (so far) is their limiter edition Birthday cake with blackberries. The flavors just burst in your mouth! It is very clear that they use expensive, high quality ingredients and they have a specific process of making it as it came out as smooth as a gelato. I would definitely consider this place gourmet ice cream chain. Service was not the best. There were several available workers and 2 customers. They initially helped the other customer first before turning to me although I came in first and then confused my ice cream order with the other person and tried to give it to them (it was just us two). Eh. Hope it wasn't on purpose. The decor is more modern and sleek than most ice cream shops. Very clean and above average size store. The location is great- just a block from the beach. Delicious ice cream with beautiful views. Perfect for a sunny day. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the service. 4.4/5. It's pricey but worth it. Enjoy it at the beach.

I'd like to think that I am an ice cream connoisseur...and I have to admit that this is one of my favorite ice-cream places! I wish that there was one where I live! Visiting Manhattan Beach with its beautiful weather and wonderfully clean beach plus getting to enjoy Salt & Straw!!?? It's a WIN-WIN!! This location is clean and its customer service was very attentive & kind. Will be visiting again when I head to Manhattan Beach again!
When I went at night, the line was still very busy! However, it moved pretty fast, as there were multiple people taking orders and scooping ice cream! They are very nice and we were able to sample flavors we wanted to try. They help you out in a group if you're in one so don't worry about being separated. The ice cream itself was very yummy and as we were able to sample the flavors, no regrets were held. Parking is as good as parking near the beach can be... Paid parking everywhere of course!

Food: The ice cream at Salt and Straw is an experience that is pretty different than other creameries out there. I have been going to Salt and Straws for the past few years starting with Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper and Pear & Blue Cheese. The non-traditional ingredients is what makes this a fun ice cream shop. This time around I had some holiday flavors Chewy Molasses Cookies with Rum Carmel and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. I also love the Chocolate Gooey Brownie and the Coffee & Love Nuts. The Ice Cream really needs one of the Waffle bowls to really punch it all forward. Service: Service was friendly and fast in preparing my order. I was offered free samples of the different ice creams which is great if you want to taste test. Ambiance: The shop has a fun, whimsical look but not full on Willy Wonka whimsical. More of a Main Street USA vibe for the displays. The shop is well organized to move people through from entry to ordering to eating. No real seating inside but that is okay because the pier is just down the way to enjoy there.
I. Am. In. Love! The Pot o' Gold ice cream at Salt & Straw just stole my heart away, along with giving me calories in return, haha. But it was all worth it! There were more than a dozen patrons standing outside of the establishment when we arrived and everyone was enjoying ice cream cones. When I went inside there were 4 workers behind the counter taking care of the busy line (4 people in front of me and 15 behind) in a quick and fun manner. For being such a busy spot for desert, it was all contained nicely. The store itself was clean, had welcoming decor, and smelled like waffle cone heaven! I expected it to be loud since so many people had walked in just after me, but the crowd was controlled and we all waited patiently for our turn up to the counter. The gentleman that served me asked if we would like any free samples, bless him, but I went straight for my order. It did, indeed, taste just like LUCKY CHARMS! Ughhhh.... My teenage antics of midnight bowels of cereal came back to me and I loved every bite of it. The price point is not bad for the quality of ice cream and service, as well, so I am already looking forward to returning.

Ice cream located in the Manhattan Beach area. You will smell the delicious scent of the waffle cones being made before you can even see the shop. It smells absolutely magical. When you enter, you can sample as many flavors as you would like. There are different sizes and you can choose cup or waffle cone. I had the salted caramel cookie dough. It was absolutely delicious. There are some small tables to sit at, but most people take their ice cream to go and enjoy the beach area. read more

Salt & Straw is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for unique ice cream flavors. The quality was great, and the ice cream was super creamy with flavors you don't usually find anywhere else. I liked that they let you sample as many flavors as you wanted before deciding. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the flavors were a little too adventurous for my taste, and the prices are on the higher side for the portion size. Still, the atmosphere was fun, the staff was friendly and patient, and it was a great spot to cool off with a sweet treat. I'd come back to try their seasonal flavors again. read more

Salt & straw is located on Manhattan Beach Blvd right near the pier. We tried out couple flavors at the store. The employee seemed like in a bad mood, wasn't very welcoming. Would love to see Salt & Straw do better to make their workplace enjoyable and make the employees happier. I got the double scoop in a chocolate brownie waffle cone. The chocolate waffle cone tasted like cocoa pebbles cereal in every way. I got their raspberry white chocolate cheesecake and regular chocolate. The raspberry white chocolate cheesecake is their limited rotating flavor and super delicious! Interior is nice, modern and welcoming. Lots of foot traffic since it's next to the pier. Would like to see this place become an enjoyable workplace. read more

Stopped by Salt & Straw on a weekend and waited about 10 minutes in line due to the fireworks show, which is not bad at all, and totally worth it. I went for a double scoop of honey lavender and salted caramel. Both were rich and flavorful, though a bit too sweet by the end. I thought these 2 flavors were quite complimentary of each other! My friends got their "tacolate" (cinnamon ice cream in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone) and were obsessed. Pro tip: if you're just picking up pints to go, you can skip the main line which is super convenient. The staff was super friendly and patient while we sampled a bunch of flavors. Definitely a fun treat spot with unique combos and a chill vibe. read more
Cute decor, great neighborhood, and ample room inside. Salt & straw has rotating flavors, unlimited samples, and warm waffle cones that never fail to satisfy my sweet tooth. I got the vegan freckled mint chip in a waffle cone. It has the best texture, creamy mint with speckles of chocolate flakes (and it doesn't have an icy texture like most vegan flavors). I also got the cookie dough in a cup. It is a classic! Even though it was busy, very friendly and fast service. read more

Salt & Straw definitely has more interesting and unique flavors. I've been had this at another location, but it was my boyfriend's first time trying it. The ice cream was the right amount of creamy and not too heavy. The worker seemed very annoyed that we were sampling flavors, but I feel like that's part of the experience at an ice cream shop. The customer service can definitely be improved. read more

On a beautiful Southern California day, it's hard not to stop here to enjoy the sweet treats and weather together. 1 Star. Service - The staff here are super patient while I sampled a few flavors (because how can you not?), and they genuinely seemed excited to talk about each one. You can tell they know their stuff and love what they do. The line moved quickly, and even with a crowd, it felt like a chill, welcoming experience. 1 Star. Food - After tasting a few delicious flavors, I went with the Cinnamon and Snickerdoodle ice cream. OH. MY. GOODNESS. This flavor is a creamy, dreamy masterpiece. The base is ultra-rich and velvety, with a warm cinnamon swirl that wraps around your tongue like a cozy blanket. Then come the chunks of snickerdoodle cookies that were soft, chewy, and perfectly spiced. It's like your favorite holiday cookie got a gourmet ice cream makeover. I'm not in LA much, but when I am I make it a mission to visit Salt & Straw no matter where in LA I'm staying. Some ice cream flavors are a little weird or a miss, but 95% of the time it's a hit. Salt & Straw has enough flavors to keep you coming and still feel like there's so many more to try. The ice cream is sweet without having that odd artificial sugary taste, and the flavors are very prominent. Everyone that works at this spot is nice, energetic, and always willing to give you a taste of a flavor you're curious about, so give each one that piques your interest a shot! This location being near the beach gives it a very calming and relaxing vibe. Go get a couple of scoops and walk down to the pier and enjoy your time! read more

Super rich, creamy, and packed with flavor this ice cream makes you want to make it a sweet spot at least once per week. If I lived here full time, I would definately make this a weekly must have. Customer service is friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is definatly beach casual. There seating inside, but nine outdoors, so take the ice cream to go, and check out what the local area has to offer. So many delicious flavors (and unique ones as well) to choose from. Swing by, snag a double scoop and chill on the pier. Whatever could be better? read more
