Was incredibly let down and frustrated by this place. Stopped in the other day and while the kiosks for ordering don't bother me as much, them using almost all powders for their drinks definitely does. "Fresh" plastered numerous places in the store, I should have known. Just a vague phrase to try to trick people. This company has over 400 stores per their website (which obviously is built for profit, not quality). I ordered Thai iced tea and I saw the guy make my drink, by scooping some powder into a steel mixing cup- add water and whisk. Are you guys for real? You don't even make the base for Thai tea fresh? Also the woman in front of me got an ube bubble tea and it was the same formula- powder, water, mix. There's nothing fresh about this place. And the prices were insanely high. And to add insult to injury, my drink literally tasted nothing like authentic Thai iced tea. Even my husband and I were perplexed as to what the flavor even was. Super hard pass. Don't waste your money here.

A-li Shan Milk Tea & White Peach Oolong Tea
Alisa B.

The perfect refreshing pick-me-up after a day at the beach. Walking distance to the pier and many restaurants. Parking can be a bit tricky. I definitely recommend the A-li Shan Milk Tea. Fragrant and creamy oolong! The drinks run on the sweeter side for me, so I would recommend 50% sweetness or less.

You order off a DIY kiosk that's self service which is convenient. The drinks seemed good, and get the complimentary positive "A OKAY" passing grade review rating, which I feel is a recommendation. What * * * three stars is not, generally is something I call "destination dining" where it conjures up cravings and I'd make special specific trips to come out of emotion and desire. It's also not a "I'd kick it out of bed" lackluster rejection or citing mediocrity either. It's right in the middle where if someone said "Let's go to Presotea" I'd not hum nor haw or decline going. Parking is okay if you know how to navigate the pier area of Manhattan Beach to find free or cheap street parking in the local residential neighborhood or in the main shopping areas. I've never had a problem finding parking myself.

Strawberry Banana Nutella Waffle w/ Panda Pearl Milk Tea

I thought having boba by the beach was a dream... until Presotea in Manhattan Beach! Absolute dream with the ocean sunset a block away, holding my yummy boba drinks & delicious snacks! Love their Wintermelon Hojicha Milk Tea but they've got fresh fruit smoothies like Avocado or Strawberry Cloud, literally saw them cut up 2 whole avocados just for the drink! There's a milk tea to your liking depending on how roasty you'd like it, whether it be Ceylon, Alishan, or Oolong! Honestly loved them all and you can't go wrong with some boba/crytal boba in there as well! The Egg Waffle was great along with the scoop of ice cream inside for quite the treats along the beach. Be sure to check them out when in Manhattan Beach!

We decided to hang out in MB on Sunday since the weather was nice and came in to get some tea. The spot is esthetically nice and the staff were attentive, polite, and friendly. I loved the ordering kiosk, just makes it so easy to choose whatever ingredients you want and pay. The Thai Tea was so good, very delicious, and well crafted. One of the best I've had and will definitely be back when in the area.

I ordered a waffle after seeing a photo Sample (Please see photo #1), expecting to receive what was shown. However, after waiting 45 minutes (yes, I ordered just one drink and a waffle and had to wait about 45 minutes!), what I received was far from the picture--a tiny portion of the waffle, barely a third of the size shown in the sample. If the waffle machine was broken, they shouldn't have taken my order. And if they reduced the portion size, they should have updated the photo. I'm really disappointed with the long wait and the significant difference in size. The waffle was soggy, with just a small amount at the bottom, completely soaked. I wanted to request a refund and cancel my order, but the staff was busy, and many young children were waiting, so I didn't want to make them wait any longer. This was the worst experience I've had at a bubble tea shop. To charge $8.25 for this is way too expensive! I wouldn't even give it one star. The first photo I posted is the one displayed by the store. The second photo shows the waffle I received from the side, before taking a single bite!! The third photo shows the inside of the cup, again before taking a bite. From the top view, the portion didn't even fill half of the cup. The fourth photo is after I moved the strawberries aside to look for the waffle. This photo was taken immediately after receiving the item, so the sogginess isn't due to the passage of time. Finally, the fifth photo shows the waffle after I took it out. It looks nothing like the sample photo. To be fair, before writing a negative review, I wanted to make sure my feelings weren't one-sided. So, I showed the photos to a few friends and asked for their opinions. They all agreed that this wasn't acceptable, which is why I decided to write this review. Visit 8/23/2024

First time at Presotea in Manhattan Beach and it won't be our last. We ate at the Izakaya and were craving something sweet and looked at Yelp for some suggestions. So glad we stumbled upon Presotea. We ordered Taiwanese milk teas and their mango passion fruit slush. We loved our drinks. Very refreshing and the sweetness was just right. They also have açaí which I would like to try next time. They are located right by MB pier, they have clean restroom and everyone was nice and friendly. We will definitely be back if we are in the area as we love good boba places.

Maybe it's a holdover from Covid times, but you place your order at a kiosk right next to the counter where the baristas are standing. I guess that makes sense, they don't have to waste time taking orders. They can focus on making drinks instead. Probably makes for faster service. Well, we wouldn't know about that because we were the only two people in the place ordering only two drinks, and still had to wait around an inordinately long time for them. That's ok, we were on vacation and not in a rush, but I could someone else getting kinda pissed off if they were in a hurry. Still, the cold drinks were great on a very hot day.

Strawberry Cloud + Creme Brûlée Topping!!

Such a yummy treat during the warm weather by the beach!!! First time at Presotea and already wanting more!! :) Service was quick & friendly, and the staff keep it very clean in store! Even was able to checkout their Labor Day promo this weekend! 10/10 for the Strawberry Cloud Smoothie!!! & bonus points for the creamy crème brûlée topping!! ((;

I'm pretty impressed with this place! Tried the Supreme Jasmine Green Tea ($5.65) and it was everything I was expecting! The shop is managed very well (it was super clean) but I did wish the staff were a bit friendlier. Overall I'm happy I tried this place out!

Taro Cloud

Clean, efficient, convenient. This boba shop is conveniently located super close to the beach, making it perfect for the boba craving to be satisfied after a day at the beach. The store is oddly quiet and but well staffed. You can order at the machines or at the front of the bar. If you choose to order using the matching beware of the auto selected tip, because if you're like me, you might tip more than you wanted to. There is a tip jar at the front, so if you like to tip after seeing the level of service, that's an option. My three drinks were made pretty quick, but there was no one there. Every sticker was place with precision. The cups were sticky though, so don't forget to grab napkins. Drinks were ok at best. A little pricier than normal. Wouldn't order Hojicha milk tea and earl grey milk tea from here, both were unfinished and unsatisfying to my boba craving. Taro cloud was ok. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I wouldn't mind if I was going with a group and someone insisted on paying. I was pretty disappointed.

Matcha Cloud
Airi G.

I love trying out new boba shops and this one is conveniently located because it happens to be right next to the beach. I love matcha so I had to order the Matcha Cloud after seeing the photos plastered all over the advertisements. My only wish is for the matcha flavor to be stronger but the creme was a nice touch. I also really liked the House Coffee since it wasn't overly sweet and the sea cream at the top added an extra layer of creaminess. That said, If you're looking for a classic drink then A Li Shan Milk Tea is definitely the way to go. As for the signature fruit tea and brown sugar creme brulee, they were alright but nothing special.

One of the first things I noticed is that their tv screen menu only showed photos of the drinks and didn't have the price listings. Nevertheless despite not having the prices listed, it was nice to be able to have a visual of what their drinks looked like. It was the Pink Perks Iced Coffee that caught my eye. I couldn't help noticing the pretty in pink drink and the barista described it to me as a strawberry latte. I found the Pink Perks Iced Coffee to be refreshing drink. It had just the right coffee flavor with a hint of strawberry. I was hoping for a bit more strawberry sweetness but it was still nonetheless a good drink. Overall I was happy to visit and discover this little coffee shop.

What did we have - X2 Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade - $5.27 - You have the option to adjust the sweet level (low, medium, extra). There is an additional charge if you want to add boba. Pros 1. Adorable inside. 2. Variety of menu options. 3. Prices are reasonable. Cons 1. Customer service - blah. Aflac employee, no smile, no hi, nothing. Took our order and made the drinks. No communication at all during this experience. #awkward 2. Drinks are on the sweet side even when ordering the medium sweet level which is what is recommended. Would I recommend - maybe (on the fence), if you live/work in the area, pull up. The employee wasn't rude just lack people/social skills but that's my 2 cents and a nickel opinion.

My husband said, "Nah, I know what Vietnamese coffee tastes like, I want to try this."
