You order off a DIY kiosk that's self service which is convenient. The drinks seemed good, and get the complimentary positive "A OKAY" passing grade review rating, which I feel is a recommendation. What * * * three stars is not, generally is something I call "destination dining" where it conjures up cravings and I'd make special specific trips to come out of emotion and desire. It's also not a "I'd kick it out of bed" lackluster rejection or citing mediocrity either. It's right in the middle where if someone said "Let's go to Presotea" I'd not hum nor haw or decline going. Parking is okay if you know how to navigate the pier area of Manhattan Beach to find free or cheap street parking in the local residential neighborhood or in the main shopping areas. I've visited this Presotea location twice now and I would say that the boba offerings are relatively good. I first found out about it when I was walking on the Strand, but it was before business hours and I didn't want to stick around so it wasn't until the second time I was on the Strand that I actually made plans to visit. The first time I got the passion fruit pineapple tea at 70% sweetness and less ice with no additional toppings. The pineapple puree was really sweet at the bottom of the cup and the pineapple bits didn't quite fit through the smaller straw intended for drinks without toppings. I would recommend ordering this one at one level lighter than your usual sweetness preference and turning it upside down to mix before inserting the straw. I'd also recommend using the wider straw too if you don't want to rip open the top to fish for the pineapple pieces after drinking all the tea. The second time I stopped by after considering all the other boba options in the surrounding neighborhoods. This one seemed to have the most and best overall reviews so instead of trying a new spot I decided to revisit. This time I got the lychee fruit tea at 70% sweetness and less ice with no additional toppings. I usually don't go for a black tea base with fruit teas but I'm glad I didn't go lighter on the sweetness on this one. It's easy to place your order on the kiosks and you can register your phone number to earn points with every order. One thing that I noticed was that topping prices are not consistent for all drinks. Not sure if that was intentional, but after having previewed almost every drink option because I'm so indecisive in full detail it's a difference that stood out to me. As someone who is always looking for the best value for money, the way that the drinks are priced here provides a good challenge. However, because they are on the pricer side and the location is in a sea of metered parking, I wouldn't say I'd go out of my way to stop by. read more

I ordered a waffle after seeing a photo Sample (Please see photo #1), expecting to receive what was shown. However, after waiting 45 minutes (yes, I ordered just one drink and a waffle and had to wait about 45 minutes!), what I received was far from the picture--a tiny portion of the waffle, barely a third of the size shown in the sample. If the waffle machine was broken, they shouldn't have taken my order. And if they reduced the portion size, they should have updated the photo. I'm really disappointed with the long wait and the significant difference in size. The waffle was soggy, with just a small amount at the bottom, completely soaked. I wanted to request a refund and cancel my order, but the staff was busy, and many young children were waiting, so I didn't want to make them wait any longer. This was the worst experience I've had at a bubble tea shop. To charge $8.25 for this is way too expensive! I wouldn't even give it one star. The first photo I posted is the one displayed by the store. The second photo shows the waffle I received from the side, before taking a single bite!! The third photo shows the inside of the cup, again before taking a bite. From the top view, the portion didn't even fill half of the cup. The fourth photo is after I moved the strawberries aside to look for the waffle. This photo was taken immediately after receiving the item, so the sogginess isn't due to the passage of time. Finally, the fifth photo shows the waffle after I took it out. It looks nothing like the sample photo. To be fair, before writing a negative review, I wanted to make sure my feelings weren't one-sided. So, I showed the photos to a few friends and asked for their opinions. Presotea is a premium tea shop (though I prefer to call these places boba shop). I'm a Presotea regular of the Torrance location but this time, I happened to be in walking distance of the Manhattan Beach location so I stopped in. This is located close to Manhattan Beach pier so that means parking is a pain. Had I not been in the area and on foot, I would not stop here for a tea. Comparing this location with Torrance, this location falls short in a few areas. First, the vibe of this location is different from what I'm used to of the Torrance location. Not sure if it was the lighting, lack of decor, or the random rack of chips on the counter for sale, but this felt more of an empty convenience store. It didn't feel like a place I was going to buy a $7 drink from. The drink quality also didn't match up; my usual milk tea with boba, priced steeply at almost $7, lacked the freshness and flavor I've enjoyed at the Torrance shop. The boba was not chewy or enjoyable. I coincidentally experienced some nausea afterwards, which was concerning. Service-wise, the reliance on kiosks and the Snackpass app for ordering was efficient, but the execution was lacking. The shop seemed either understaffed or the staff present was not as quick in preparing orders. An odd instance was observing a customer having to wait for a few bags of chips from the chip rack previously mentioned. I knew I'd be in for a wait if she had to wait for her chips to be pulled from the rack. Overall, the whole experience was just meh, especially because of the wait time. Long story short, if you're already around Manhattan Beach and really want Presotea, sure, drop by. But if it's a special trip just for the tea, maybe think twice. read more

If you're craving boba at the beach, make sure to swing by Presotea. I usually go for the White Peach Oolong Tea - it's an incredibly refreshing choice. However, the boba itself can be a bit of a gamble, occasionally leaning towards either too soft or just perfectly chewy. Keep in mind that the boba prices here are on the higher side, which is somewhat expected given the beachfront location. Sometimes the service is a little long. I ordered 4 drinks and were the only people in the store, with 4 employees behind the counter and the drink took 15 minutes to make. A little odd, but I wasn't in a rush. Parking can be a challenge due to the beach setting, so be prepared for limited availability. Nonetheless, if you're in the area and in need of a boba fix, it's worth the visit. read more

Online you have the option of choosing your sweetness level (50% was just right for me) and if you want more or less ice. Less ice is what I prefer. We ordered Taiwanese milk teas and their mango passion fruit slush. We loved our drinks. Very refreshing and the sweetness was just right. They also have açaí which I would like to try next time. Maybe it's a holdover from Covid times, but you place your order at a kiosk right next to the counter where the baristas are standing. I guess that makes sense, they don't have to waste time taking orders. They can focus on making drinks instead. Probably makes for faster service. Well, we wouldn't know about that because we were the only two people in the place ordering only two drinks, and still had to wait around an inordinately long time for them. Clean, efficient, convenient. This boba shop is conveniently located super close to the beach, making it perfect for the boba craving to be satisfied after a day at the beach. The store is oddly quiet and but well staffed. You can order at the machines or at the front of the bar. If you choose to order using the matching beware of the auto selected tip, because if you're like me, you might tip more than you wanted to. There is a tip jar at the front, so if you like to tip after seeing the level of service, that's an option. My three drinks were made pretty quick, but there was no one there. Every sticker was place with precision. The cups were sticky though, so don't forget to grab napkins. Drinks were ok at best. A little pricier than normal. Wouldn't order Hojicha milk tea and earl grey milk tea from here, both were unfinished and unsatisfying to my boba craving. Taro cloud was ok. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I love trying out new boba shops and this one is conveniently located because it happens to be right next to the beach. I love matcha so I had to order the Matcha Cloud after seeing the photos plastered all over the advertisements. My only wish is for the matcha flavor to be stronger but the creme was a nice touch. I also really liked the House Coffee since it wasn't overly sweet and the sea cream at the top added an extra layer of creaminess. That said, If you're looking for a classic drink then A Li Shan Milk Tea is definitely the way to go. I love going to Presotea in Torrance and was in Manhattan Beach enjoying the Pier, then my husband said he was craving boba. I remember hearing a new boba place in Manhattan. If your into boba, Presotea has the softest, warmest, freshly made boba in their teas. Presotea has a blended taro boba, Taro Cloud, which is my favorite version of taro amongst the boba places in South Bay. My three favorite features of the menu: 1) Oat milk substitute option for each milk ingredient. 2) Caffeine icon next to each item that has caffeine. 3) You can change the sweetness level of each drink (!). Very clean and extremely convenient ordering system. Fantastic location too! Presotea is a fairly new establishment serving a variety of drinks that appeal to your taste. From my experience there is great customer service which accommodate to your needs. They even offer milk alternatives! The workplace is very clean and organized. Location is convenient as it is near the beach; it is nice to go too after a well spent day at the beach.
