Great donuts as always. But the staff here are not as friendly as the team at the Torrance shop..
I want to start off this review by acknowledging the staff. They were some of the friendliest staff members I have seen at any place of service ever. We were greeted by a sample donut, given the tip to download the app for savings, and great recommendations. We took a bunch of donuts home for the weekend. I had the chocolate celebration, traditional glaze, and old fashioned. All delicious. Download the app for a free donut and app on your first visit. You will get additional notifications of sales and savings. You can also earn points.
Yummy doughnuts with a creative twist! They had me at maple bacon and strawberry buttermilk! They were warm, soft and rich with flavor.
Hands down the best donuts I ever had!! For years, I thought that I was just not a fan of donuts...it turns out, I just liked high quality gourmet donuts! Sidecar donuts are made from quality ingredients (that you can taste) and their donut bread is no exception and has a nice weight to it that you feel satisfied and even full after just one donut (at least for me). This is pretty important for me as I value high quality bread after living in FR. Their flavors are also fantastic! My favorite is the pavlova passionfruit! The location in manhattan beach is clean and not too busy, although it has limited seating. They have such friendly staff and I was greeted upon coming in and was told to have a nice day upon leaving! I have since back several times and have gone through alot of their flavors. I even signed up to be part of their rewards program. That's a true sign that I love this place! Definitely recommend!!! I even came back after just few days to try their mango sticky rice flavor!
I LOVE SIDECAR!! Its absolutely one of the best donut places ever! Its my go-to sweet treat whenever there is a deal (download the app for coupons occassionally). The flavors are great and really unique which i like. They have a seasonal weekly flavor and the service is always nice. It has plenty of parking and there's seating on the inside. I also really like how there are samples if you go in the morning which has persuaded me to try some new flavors I wouldn't have gotten. Yes its a bit pricey, but definitely worth it as the taste is amazing. My only feedback is on Too Good to Go orders. PLEASE allow there to be a separate non-meat/vegetarian option. Since if you order through the app, sometimes they may have a maple bacon donut which I don't eat meat so anything that donut is touching I also throw out which is a waste.
Sidecar if I could give you 10 stars I would. Between the cleaniness and customer service . I am overwhelmed. Special mention Sherman his customer service is top notch. The overall vibe cleanliness was top tear . Again service above and beyond. Thanks sidecar.
So after a whirlwind of a day 1 on my 36 hr foodie trip to SoCal with my mother and 2 siblings-we decided to start Day 2 at a donut shop my brother had been telling me for weeks about this spot that was the best donut shop he has ever been-to which I always just rolled my eyes thinking "yeah right".Ive been to places-I've visited some of the best donuts shops in America-I always make it a point to find the best donut shops when I go to various cities within my travels-so yeah I didn't take his claim too seriously but I was definitely open to check it out-we headed to Sidecar Doughnuts in Manhattan Beach as soon as we woke up. This shop is located in a multi tenant shopping mall on N Sepulveda Blvd-so parking is plentiful-a true breeze. When we got in the shop I could tell this was not your everyday small town donut shop-there was a certain elegance to the design,the menu,the presentation and the donuts themselves. I also liked that they had a sampler donut out so a newbie customer like myself could try out their treats before deciding what to go with. These donuts aren't cheap by any means-they are going to cost you anywhere from $4.50 to $6.00 each-but this is one of those occasions where you truly get what you pay for-higher quality donuts come with higher prices and they are worth every penny. After a quick look at their impressive unique offerings we decided to go with the following donuts. Huckleberry-This donut was served warm and had a clean authentic flavor of huckleberry glaze with little bits of huckleberry infused-nothing artificial here-a true standout of a donut-9.3/10.0 item Butter and Salt-This may be their flagship donut,though huckleberry may give it a run for its money-This is a must try-great twist between sweet and salt with a light crisp exterior and super soft inside-this one surprised me-truly addictive with it's simplicity -8.9/10.0 item Magic Charm-This truly was Lucky Charms in donut form-talk about nostalgia in a donut-the glaze offers the milk flavor and the cereal toppings come in hard with the Lucky Charms topping-awesome trip down memory lane with this donut-8.7/10.0 item This trip these were the 3 I tried-others in the family tried others but I didn't get a chance to try em-so will leave rating those for next time. In closing-I hate to admit this,but I think my personal " Donut Wars" are over-in my opinion Sidecar Doughnuts is the best donut shop around and if you ever find yourself in the area and get a chance to try out their treats-Do It-In fact change your plans to get there-it's so worth it. PS-I wonder what they could do if they tried their hand at a maple bar one day.....
We actually came here twice on our two day trip to LA, it was that good! It was our first time trying Sidecar for all of us and we were all sold on the lm, especially my gluten free niece since it's hard to find freshly made GF donuts in our home town. We liked them so much that we made a special trip on the way to the airport to buy 6 packs to bring home.
A 10 out of 10, every time. I can't get enough of Sidecar. The donuts are divine, and worth every penny. I've enjoyed them on the spot or else the next day - keep them in the fridge to ensure freshness. Also, I so appreciate the samples! There's usually a few options left out for nibbling. The one negative is that they close at 7pm, and my craving always hits hardest around 7:15pm. Sigh!! Sidecar is in a popular plaza near BOA, Sushi Roku, a smash burger, and Bank of America. Plenty of free parking available all around.
The donuts here are delicious! They have so many unique options which I love! On Mother's Day, ordered over 2 dozen donuts (about $130). It's more on the expensive side but nice for an occasion if buying a lot. I would come back for a single donut as a sweet treat The service is quick and they helped me check out smoothly
Not busy at all on a Friday afternoon! Was able to find parking, walk, order and receive my order all in about 10 minutes. Got an apple fritter (only available on Fridays) and a Vietnamese iced coffee! The person who helped me was kind and quick. They informed me that if you download their app you get a free donut and coffee on your next visit! Inside is quite cramped and there is only 2 tables outside for seating so keep that in mind if you plan to stay here to enjoy your doughnuts. Apple Fritter was great! Not as crispy as I normally like but the inside was very fluffy and warm, not too sweet. 9/10 Vietnamese Iced Coffee was okay, stronger than I personally like but it's still good. 7/10 Would happily come back to try other donuts and drinks :)
The coffee here is great! I had the iced smores mocha latte and it was the perfect blend of sweetness and delectable coffee. The graham cracker on top of the cold foam really set this drink over the edge. My partner had a vanilla bean glazed doughnut and he said it was really tasty. Soft on the inside and perfectly glazed on the outside. Definitely a place worth trying! Also shoutout to the kind staff and quick service :)
I visited Sidecar Donuts & Coffee in Manhattan Beach and the location felt clean, bright, and aesthetically pleasing. It's situated on a corner in a shopping area that made it easy to spot. I really appreciated the variety of donuts they offered. From classic glaze, fruit-forward flavors and themed varieties (Somoa is inspired by a Girl Scout cookie), the selection was impressive. I also liked that they offered weekly vegan and gluten-free options; very inclusive. You could tell the donuts were being made fresh, as trays were quickly restocked whenever an option started running low. We ordered a half dozen, including the glazed, French toast, huckleberry, strawberry, and classic glazed. The standout for me was the huckleberry and strawberry; both were 10/10. The server also was very helpful tailoring our picks to our needs. The flavors were vibrant without being overpowering sweet. I also ordered a green tea and their featured banana bread latte. I appreciated that they asked about toppings and clearly stated the presence of walnuts, which is important for anyone with allergies. The latte itself was decent (about a 7/10 for me); I was expecting a slightly sweeter, more pronounced banana flavor, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, a solid spot if you're in the Manhattan Beach area and looking for fresh, creative coffee spot with a sweet treat!
Ahh, everyone's favorite donuts. The amount of people on my friend list that come to sidecar definitely influenced me to come here My friend, kimmie always comes to this location. So I figured this one must be the best! They have great parking This place was extremely BUSY on a Wednesday night. Yet, I was immediately greeted by Tay when I came in. He even helped with my donuts The place was clean And I LOVE their seasonal choices. they had a gluten free and a vegan donut as well Honestly, for being an upscale donut place I think the prices are reasonable. Especially if you're just getting 1-2. If you're getting a lot, then the price does really add up I prefer thicker donuts like the cake ones and old fashioned ones vs regular glazed donuts. They are too airy for my liking. Sidecar donuts have a great texture to them. The ones I picked were pretty sweet, and that's just how I like it. The sweeter, the better. -I got their pumpkin cinnamon roll donut And their - celebration cake donut. It had fall colored sprinkled on top Along with buying donuts, I also ordered a bag of donuts from their listing on - too good to go (which are surprise donuts) and brought them home to my family and gave one to my neighbor They have coffee here too but I have yet to try that Long Beach needs one of these!! Tips: this location can get very busy, so pick your timing wisely. The space is small inside at all of their locations. To go orders are recommended. At this particular location, there are a couple of tables outside. But, during this crazy heat I couldn't imagine being comfortable. Maybe at night or when the sun goes down. IMO Sidecar has the best fancy doughnuts in the South Bay. If you can't decide what to try, here are my recommendations. Huckelberry is a bit tangy and fruity. If you like blueberry donuts, get this one. Butter & Salt is the perfect sweet+salty donut with a brown butter glaze. Maple Bacon is one of the few raised yeast donuts and the sweet+savory combo is the best! The Apple Fritter is really good, but only available on Fridays. I highly recommend trying at least one of their seasonal donuts too. They are very unique and delicious. What I recently discovered is that their coffee is quite good and reasonably priced for the Manhattan Beach area. If you still can't decide what to purchase, the staff is always very nice and helpful. They always seem to be in a really good mood. The donuts are presented in nice, branded boxes if you purchase 3 or more. The store is located in the Manhattan Village, right near the entrance, so there is plenty of parking. This fancy Manhattan Beach donut shop never disappoints. They consistently deliver both in quality and service and everything always tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. Their pints program is also a great bonus and definitely worth trying. Solid flavors, great consistency, and an easy go-to when you're craving something sweet. Highly recommend. read more
The Baseline: For a donut shop the flavor of donuts must out-weigh the taste of pure sugar, the yeastiness/cake-ness of the donut must be a good consistency, there must be unique/rare offerings that drive me to go there, and the value of the desert must be balanced with the fact I probably just finished a meal. Food: Sidecar donuts are really sweet delicious donuts that are mostly cake donuts. The flavor profiles are varied and they carry a limited vegan selection. When the cookie dough donuts is available it is my favorite. I also love the Black Onyx Coffee for my go-to coffee. Also you need to try the Eggs Benedict donut for a savory treat. Service: Great service from staff every time I come here. I suggest the app for earning freebies and specials. Ambiance: Very clean store with a well laid out service queue. read more
Stopped by this location for the first time and was impressed! This donut shop claims to have the world's freshest donuts and they meant just that! This shop is known to have fresh ingredients, unique flavors...with some flavors offered weekly or just once a week. I ordered their coconut cloud donut which was a collab they conducted with Summer Fridays and I also ordered the French toast donut. These donuts were super soft and on the more dense side than airy. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the space doesn't have indoor seating but there are a few tables located outside, but it's limited so it's best to order to go. Plenty of free parking as well. I'll definitely return to try other flavors, and the Vietnamese coffee! read more
What a treat! Got lucky and there was not a line. Donuts are very rich. I do not underestimate them! I was thinking I could handle two but one was very filling! Many flavors to choose from in a nice variety of coffee drinks. Not a lot of seating, but we were able to grab a nice table outside. This is a fun outdoor mall to walk around and in the Manhattan Beach area, very new and beautiful! I would recommend sidecar. Yum! read more

Is there anything better than a cake, I mean donut from Sidecar on a lazy Sunday morning? Definitely not! Came here around 10:30am and was glad to see there wasn't a tremendously long line. The worker that helped me was so kind and patient and helped me with my matcha latte order. I was glad to hear they don't charge extra for oat milk! But, they do charge an extra $1 if you add special sweetener in there (tried something new today with their banana syrup flavoring). Definitely don't need my matcha sweetened next time though because the sweetness from my Biscoff donut did the trick! Yes Biscoff donut - basically cake. It was perfectly crunch at the top and so soft and moist all around! Wow. The location is small but just enough for a line inside and some seats outside as well. They also have a window where you can pick up your drinks outside so that it doesn't get too crowded. The store was clean, the counter with some utensils and napkins was well kept, and it smelled delicious in there (of course!) This is by far my most favorite donut shop and this location did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, kind, and they got my order to me very quickly! Will definitely be back! Oh and parking was not a problem one bit. It's in a shopping center so lots of parking all around. Win in my book! Woohoo! read more

I had a friend introduce me to Sidecar Doughnuts last summer, so when I saw we were going to be near one, I had to make a point to stop here so my kids could try it! We were in town for the weekend and after a late night out, followed by an early morning call time, Sidecar to the rescue! I got here right before they opened. I was greeted immediately upon entering by Jesse who ended up helping me throughout my visit. He was super personable and we chatted a bit while he completed my order. I bought a box of 6 donuts and got: Cookies n cream, Huckleberry, Choco Lot, Chocolate chunk cookie, Strawberry buttermilk and Saigon cinnamon crumb. To complete my order, I also ordered a hot banana bread latte with the walnut topping. The strawberry buttermilk reminded me of a mild jelly filled doughnut and the cinnamon crumb complimented my latte perfectly. The latte itself was insanely delicious. I didn't try the doughnuts purchased for my kids, but they demolished theirs, so I think it's safe to say they loved their choices as well. It's a very nice location, small inside but laid out perfectly so it flows well. I'd imagine it probably gets a little chaotic when they're extremely busy. The parking lot was laid out kind of odd, so I was glad it was early and there were only 3 other cars there, no added confusion then. Their menu changes daily and they have seasonal offerings as well. Highly recommend giving Sidecar a try! Love this place! read more
First timer at Sidecar and I'm impressed. Now, not all of the doughnuts I tried were amazing, but I love that they were all so fresh and not too sweet. MATCHA, STRAWBERRIES, & CREME (limited time): Matcha whipped cream and chopped strawberries were piled on top of this raised doughnut but unfortunately, matcha flavor was lacking big time. The doughnut was tinted green, but no matcha taste. So basically it was a glazed green donut with a hint of matcha from the dusting on the whipped cream and some glazed strawberry pieces. Darn. SAIGON CINNAMON CRUMB: I figured how different could this doughnut be from a regular cinnamon cake doughnut elsewhere and I was glad to be wrong. The cinnamon was surprisingly much more potent and fragrant than I've had in a doughnut so it was very pleasant. I'm not a big fan of cake doughnuts, but this was soft and palatable. CHOC-A-LOT: Holy smokes this delivered on the chocolate. It's a raised chocolate doughnut with a chocolate glaze. I'm not sure if they used semi-sweet chocolate but it was not cloyingly sweet, which was great. CITRUS OLIVE OIL: Lemony cake doughnut so it was a nice change from the other ones I ordered. A good choice for those who love lemon! MATCHA LATTE: I got a sweetened matcha latte with regular milk and it was fine. I don't think it compares to matcha teahouses, but it'll do. They have savory doughnuts too, but I didn't get a chance to try those. They continue to make doughnuts throughout the day so just inquire with the staff if you want to know when the next batch of a certain type will come out. I want to send a personal thanks to Gabb and Lo for my order this morning and everything that came after it! They were accomodating, patient and genuinely nice. When I placed an order for a DOZEN this morning, I wasn't offered the Benedict doughnut, but when I got to the store i was informed that they weren't ready yet when I ordered. So, I asked Gabbi if I could switch my cinnamon rolls out for 2 Benedicts and there accommodated me! I then asked if it was possible to get some bacon crumbles to put on to my Potato Streusel doughnut (It's amazing!) and I offered to pay extra. Gabbi told me that she'd have to ask her manager Lorena. Without either of us asking Lorena, she had already walked off and came back with a tiny cup full of crumbled bacon! They literally set the tone for my day!!! I got to work and told my assistant "It's gonna be a good day!" Within 2 hours of arriving at work I received a message about applying for another position...that comes with a huge pay raise! They may be totally unrelated but you'll never convince me of it. read more

Hands down my favorite donut place in Cali. I moved from La to Miami and have to swing by whenever im in town. I usually go to the location by the grove but this was perfect enroute from lax to PV. We tried the seasonal olive oil with citrus and one of my favorites butter and salt which did not disappoint! read more

My absolutely favorite doughnuts.. EVER. Highly recommend the Huckleberry. I try new flavors but always come back to that one! The "cake" doughnuts are the best. A bit pricey for a doughnut and sometimes a wait in the morning, but worth it!! Only two small tables outside - best to order and take it elsewhere! read more

I'm always a sucker for fancy-looking donuts and unique flavors so I was very excited to try Sidecar Doughnuts for the first time. My friends and I ordered the six donut box so we could sample lots of flavors! One of my favorite ones was definitely the Maple Bacon flavor. Such a classic flavor and mix of sweet and salty. I figured out that I'm a bigger fan of yeast donuts versus cake donuts, as I was a bit disappointed with some of the cake donuts due to flavor or texture. I will say Sidecar is in a nice location as there's a lot you can see around the area, so it's a great spot to get a quick bite and then exploring shops and other food places. read more
