What an interesting place to stumble into thanks to a random search in yelp. Wanted a non-commercial donut place and this is definitely it with so much more. It looks like a convenient store standing alone right off the 405 El Segundo exit. A bit dingy looking from outside with its on parking. Once inside it's packed with all kinds of food - donuts, croissants, sandwiches, chips, smoothies, coffee, juices etc. etc. - it's a bit overwhelming. They could definitely improve their interior, it could stand to at least be more orderly. The person behind the counter was warm, friendly and patient. The more I wandered the more I liked it. All in all, I think I'd love to go back and try their juices and other stuff because the dozen donuts we bought were very good and fluffy the way I like them and those who like cakes donuts liked their version too. One morning, he asked if I had ever been, and I said no completely unaware that this was the donut spot I pass every single day coming off the jammed 405 freeway. Well, my brother started raving about this place how soft the donuts are, how they make fresh-squeezed orange juice with no sugar added, and even green juice. So, one day, I went on my own little food adventure to Christy's Here's what I ordered for me, mom and my daughter: -Two vanilla iced coffees -One fresh orange juice -One glazed donut -One sprinkle donut for my daughter -A croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, cheese, avocado, and jalapeño -And for my mom, a Thai iced tea (she's picky and only gets it from one Thai restaurant she loves so this was a test!) We all sat around the table at home to try everything, and let me tell you it was a hit across the board. The croissant sandwich? Chef's kiss. Flaky, buttery croissant with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, melty cheese, creamy avocado, and just the right kick from the jalapeños. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and the overall taste was OK. People are friendly but as an old commercial say where the beef as you can see in the picture for sandwich that was almost $12 I got bread lettuce, tomato, onion, and jalapeño very very little pastrami, I thought for a little donut and sandwich shop at that price. I was very disappointed today, because I am a regular customer here and winning today to purchase chocolate donuts, which we're out from the display. However, I did see they had some in the back, and when I asked the female attendant, she told me no no, what is here in the front is all I have. I'm sure those that were in the back in a tray full of them were not to put in the trash. But, since, this was over a year ago. They probably are making more like before, now, the Covid 19 shut down, probably demand low then and need to ramp up again. The first two days we stopped in, they were sold out. WHAT!!!??? Well technically they had one doughnut the first day and were basically closed, so they just gave it to my friend for free! Great place to get fresh donuts. I came around 6am and there were five people in line. It does get busy and I'm sure it's because of the delicious donuts. I ordered two dozen donuts and the employees were very friendly. Service was also very quick. You can see the employees refilling all the donuts as soon as they're gone. Inside is also small but most people order and take out. The employees are friendly and early in the morning the donuts are fresh. The donuts are also reasonably priced and tasty. The coffee is hot smooth and decent. This is a good donut shop to get in get your order and get back out in no time. Oh let me also say they have a nice variety of donuts available. One of, if not the best donut shops in the area. But my review will be on their even tastier jalapeño cheese croissants. The first time I tried one of these bad boys was a couple years ago. I've been hooked ever since. They will even microwave them a little for you if you are so inclined. Trust me, have them do that. I came here around 9am on a Wednesday morning looking to get some cronuts and Christys pop up. This was one of the places that makes cronuts in the area and I was itching for them. when I entered the shop my nose was instantly met with the smell of something burned but I didn't think twice about it because they had some donuts and cronuts out on display. Why would they put out burnt donuts? Why? Yes why, because I ordered 3 cronuts and all 3 tasted burned. I don't think if the actual donut was burned or if it was the oil the they used but it was not pleasant. On top of the burned tased they were also very crispy, like burnt toast. If you go here be wary of the smell. If it smells burnt then walk right back out. Hopefully the next time I go will be much more pleasant read more
