Stopped to eat and study here before my massage. Not the most ideal place to study, but definitely great place for breakfast. The Blue Butterfly Latte was perfect, not too sweet. I loved the beautiful purple color. I also had the traditional breakfast. Came with fresh eggs (a plus!), bacon, potatoes, and half an English muffin. Service was good. Baristas were fun and upbeat.

Avacado toast with black lava salt. Sooooo good!

This quaint tea/coffee stop has it all. Fine bakery and great selection of hot and cold drinks. For me, I'm just a black ice tea drinker...boring...but they have an extensive drink menu for those of you that have desires of the fancy stuff. Ice tea for me 24/7. For food, make sure you look at the entire menu because you'll regret...like I did by just looking at the baked goodies. Everything is great...I had the avocado toast with black lava salt...it was the right amount of salt to generate a great tasting bite...every time. Prices are fair, very good staff and prompt.

    Matcha with strawberry cold foam

We decided to stop by this coffee shop on a Saturday afternoon. They have a great selection of coffee, teas, and Matcha. We ordered the Spanish latte and the Matcha with strawberry cold foam. The Latte was delicious but the matcha only has a sprinkle of cold foam. I was very disappointed. The coffee shop itself is small and has a patio in the back. Cute little atmosphere. However, the service was lacking. The barista who took our order was not welcoming and seemed rushed. It could have been the time of day, but it still made the experience less enjoyable.

Service: Very nice. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and patient despite having a fairly deep line. Food: I got the Sunrise Sandwich and it was super tasty! The bacon was nice and thick and the muffin had a nice crisp without being brittle! So yummy! Coffee: It was good for sure. I think I generally prefer it a bit sweeter. It tastes a bit more of a flat white, but was still 4 of 5 stars for what I like. I ordered the Iced Vanilla Latte. Environment: Definitely more of a small shop vibe rather than industrial Starbucks. But a well done small shop where you can comfortably hang out and chat or read. Tables are a bit close in the main, but it's not a problem unless you really like your space. Again small shop vibe, I enjoyed it. But if you do need more space they have a full seating area right next door!

This might be an unpopular opinion, but the coffee just wasn't for me. I ordered an iced oat milk latte, and something about the flavor tasted off--almost like a faint raisin note that I couldn't get past. The shop itself is cute and bright, with an open, airy feel and lots of natural light. That said, the experience was less cozy than I'd hoped on a chilly, rainy day. A ceiling vent was blasting cold air directly down on me, and when we moved to the neighboring building for additional seating, both the front and back doors were wide open, creating a pretty intense cross breeze. In the end, it didn't matter much--I only made it a few sips into my latte before tossing it, and we decided to head out in search of another coffee spot nearby.

Was in the area and was craving coffee so I found this place and the coffee was so yummy. Service was blah. Not friendly. Don't know that I'll return. Torn between the good drinks and rude employees.

I had the tuna sandwich that was really good. The blue butterfly tea latte was amazing and the strawberry Matcha was OK. Service with OK they weren't that friendly or anything kind of standoffish but at least they made me food good ‍

    Classic Avo Toast (10/10)

Wow--the vanilla latte here was incredible! It had the perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness, and rich coffee flavor. The avocado toast was generously layered with some of the freshest slices I've ever had from a café, and every bite tasted just as vibrant as it looked. The pastries were fantastic as well--especially the classic croissant, which was perfectly flaky, buttery, and simple in the best way. I also love that their coffee beans are roasted locally at their roastery just down the street--it's the perfect take-home treat if you want to bring the Blue Butterfly experience with you. The service was warm and attentive. Just be prepared--it gets BUSY! Thankfully, there is overflow seating next door, but I personally love staying in the main shop for the amazing vibe, the cool skateboard art, and the incredible aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Highly recommend this location and cannot wait to come back sooner rather than later!

    Yes!

Do they sell whole beans? Are they a roaster?

    Yes!

Is this a good place to work? (Wi-Fi and outlets?)

The wifi has been fixed! Now there is unlimited wifi with a straightforward login. Wifi: BlueButterflyCoffee, password: bluebutterfly. Enjoy!!!

Do they have sticky buns and if so how are they?

We don't at the moment, so sorry. We used to, but our baker who provided them went out of business. Hopefully in the very near future.

The Egg Benedict, Chimichanga, and coffee were all delicious as well. Manhattan Beach used to be one of my favorite places to visit, and I went there quite often back then. Our server was very attentive, kind, patient, and accommodating. For example, when my sister in law asked if there was a kid's menu for her children, the server politely stated that they didn't have one. However, he immediately picked up on the fact that these kids were highly fussy and picky eaters, and offered up buttered noodles, something that was not on the menu. The kids ended up loving this. I, on the other hand, was disappointed with most of the food I had. If I had to rate the food, it would be 3 stars. I ordered the MB Post Burger, which comes with a 1/2 pound grilled patty, American Cheese, applewood bacon, and honey chipotle aioli, between English muffin buns. I added a sunny side up egg to it for an extra few bucks. The burger was messy, and difficult to eat. Ended up having to eat it with a fork and knife. I expected the egg to be a bit runny, but it was cooked all the way through. All in all, it wasn't enjoyable to eat. The crispy fries were not any better. To me, they tasted overly fried. The only thing I thought was exceptional was the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuit with the whipped honey butter. It was buttery and crispy goodness. This item alone is worth coming back to this restaurant. Overall, this place is a solid 4 star restaurant. If you're planning on visiting this place, I have to warn you that parking may be a real pain to find since the area is very popular with beach goers. Things were exacerbated over the weekend due to a volleyball tournament. Had to drive around for like 30 minutes to find parking.

Made reservations a few days ahead and Gary reached out to see if there was anything he could help accommodate with to make our evening special. That was a very nice gesture. There have been many changes to the place since we've last been and the ambience was very nice outside and in. Could lean fancy or as casual as you'd like. We had the roasted Brussels sprouts, steak frites and the scallops. Everything was amazing! Good quality, cooked well. Steak was exactly medium rare and scallops were cooked to perfection. Word of advice, if you get the Brussel Sprouts, get extra bread to soak up the sauce as you enjoy the sprouts. Can't wait til the next time!

There is also street parking, if needed. This place was clean, modern, and bright and the service was friendly and prompt. They filled up our water pitcher when we finished our water without us asking, and staff checked on us periodically. The menu was extensive with fun breakfast stuff not typical of other Thai or breakfast restaurants I've visited. A lot of rice porridges in their Thai breakfast section. I tried some of my husband's and it was nice and comforting...I'm Filipino American, not Thai, but I thought the flavor reminded me of Tinola (or a papaya ginger soup/stew). I can see how it's regarded as traditional comfort food. They also offered the usual pad thai, etc. but we didn't order that...I tried the Thai Omelette over rice, my daughter had a peanut butter/coconut/banana/honey toast, and my husband had one of the rice porridges (pork/mushroom). All of the food was tasty and flavorful. To finish off our meal, we had the matcha bingsu (shaved ice) topped with sweet red beans. (I have friends in Hawthorne who travel all the way to Hollywood for their favorite shaved ice...they will no longer need to travel far for some really good shaved ice dessert! I plan to introduce them to Toast & Thai!) For drinks, I ordered the Thai Black coffee and my husband had an Americano. I didn't realizethe Thai "black" coffee was sweetened. Usually, when I order coffee "black", it means no sugar, no cream. Thai black coffee is sweetened with sugar (not condensed milk as in Thai tea) but they don't add cream. There was no description of the Thai Black coffee on the online or in-person menu so I didn't realize it was sweetened. The coffee was flavorful, but too sweet for me to finish. I saved some to take home to add more coffee and dilute the sugar. It was tasty, just too sweet for my liking. Overall, my family enjoyed our meal and experience and will definitely return with friends! There are so many other items on their menu I'd love to try next time - Hainan Chicken Rice, Croffles (Croissant / Waffles), Khao Soi, Panang Curry...We look forward to our next visit!

We had to ask if we were being rushed to leave because it felt so inappropriate. When we ordered dessert, the dirty dishes were just left sitting on the table. To make matters worse, only one of our two appetizers arrived. When I asked about the second one, the server initially said it was on its way, but then admitted she forgot to put the order in, so I just canceled it. I also asked for no peppers and to substitute onions on my main dish, but that modification was completely ignored. I didn't even want to ask again when it was at the table. On the positive side, the food was okay overall, and my son really enjoyed his chicken fried rice. It's a cute place, but they desperately need to clean up their service and attention to detail.
