Came here on a weekday for an afternoon pick‑me‑up. Parking is street only and can be a little tricky. I think there's a parking structure nearby, but I'm not totally sure. I came with a few friends so we could try different drinks. The shop is cute and cozy, with moody California vibes. They have decorated skateboards hanging on the walls, which adds a fun, laid‑back touch. I ordered the classic matcha latte. The matcha had a nice, earthy umami flavor and wasn't overly sweet. Just a heads up, you have to ask for it to be sweetened, otherwise it comes unsweetened. The rest of the group ordered BBLs (LOL). Yes, $7 BBLs, not what you think! My guest and I came in and ordered a latte and mocha respectively. The young man behind the counter was nice enough, but he specifically stressed whether or not we wanted it iced and or heated-to which both of us responded heated, please. Guess how the drinks came out? They didn't have ice, but they were far from heated-lol not to be fair, a line of humanity was forming behind us and there were a few others in front of us as well. Given the sheer volume this small place was about to be hit with, perhaps that played a role in terms of rushing the product? I'll go ahead and chalk this up to the laws of average thrown in with the fact that the product wasn't bad, it was just slightly above average. GOODBOYBOB was pretty Good We went on a Sunday morning so you know you get what you get in Manhattan Beach. We got there pretty early around 8AM (not so early) and there was a decent crowd waiting outside already. Its a grab and go situation here with 2 or 3 tables on the sidewalk, none on the inside, and a small space able to queue maybe 3 to generously 4 people inside the door. Names for orders are called by yelling (maybe?) from the inside to the outside. I say maybe because we didn't actually hear anything, just saw our order on the counter which looked like our order and checked. Service! simple, uneventful, the staff were nice, but busy so good I'd say. Ambiance! eh, just go walk down to the beach and decompress from the wait lol. Menu! They have your standard fare menu, but their seasonal specials definitely are the way to go for me. I don't want to come back but will probably come back to try their summer specials! We ordered the Icy Blue Flash Brew and the Blueberry Pie Matcha Latte. The Icy Blue Matcha (note: not the ordered flash brew...but didn't want to bother with the line and wait) was actually the favorite of the two drinks. It has a good sweet, milk, and tea rate. The Blueberry Pie Matcha was visually pretty but wildly and overwhelmingly sweet. Overall I probably wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to visit, but I'll probably be back in the summer to try their summer specials because I see the drink potential, and hope to get to try the coffee next time. read more

The matcha here is terrible, I don't recommend at all. I would pass on matcha if you're heading here. It's a coffee shop so it's no surprise that the matcha is bad. I ordered a "Volcanic Matcha" which is described as a "velvety vanilla bean cream over iced matcha latte" the actual matcha profile of the drink is not good since the matcha is premade and put into a squeeze bottle. It tastes old since it's not whisked fresh as matcha should be made. The vanilla bean cream was very liquidy and thin instead of being a thick cold foam on top. They also charge an extra $1 for oat milk which seems ridiculous for a mediocre drink that's already $8. read more

When I used to work in Torrance, I would make the drive because they were the only local coffee shop open at 6am. I opted out of the larger coffee chains. My go-to drink was their espresso tonic with calamansi. I also tried their seasonal cranberry tonic. Their drinks are solid. The espresso wasn't acidic. They also sell baked goods, which look good. The service is always welcoming and quick. The shop itself is on the smaller side, and all the seating is outdoors. I wouldn't consider this cafe for studying or remote work. Regardless, their coffee is delicious, and the hospitality is good! read more

Was psyched to stop by Goodboybob Coffee Roasters for a Flat White with (homemade) almond milk this morning... My SIL also had a Flat White (with whole milk) and we brought my husband a drip coffee. We didn't get any food with our drinks but the pastries and baked goods looked fresh and appealing. Service was friendly and fast and our drinks were great! This is a small little shop but they make great coffee, have some retail items available including coffee beans, cute key chains, and additional accessories. I will return! read more

Visited on a Saturday around 11:00 am and while they were extremely busy, we probably waited about 5 minutes to order and another 10 for our orders to be made. Very reasonable! The inside is very small, so you order then wait on the sidewalk if they are crowded. I am a huge matcha fan and let's just say I'm going to be dreaming of their matchas every day until I get the chance to return to CA! I visited on my last day in CA and ordered two matchas because I couldn't possibly decide on just one. ZERO REGRETS! I ordered the seasonal blueberry pie matcha (with almond milk) and the signature yuzu matcha tonic. Omg both were incredible! The blueberry pie matcha was rich and decadent. It tasted exactly like blueberry pie, not just a matcha with blueberry puree. The yuzu matcha tonic was so light and refreshing, almost like a lemonade. Highly recommend for a hot day! The plus side is the coffee is delicious. The down side is you may have to wait almost 30 minutes for your drink, like I did today. I got the BBL and it was the perfect texture and tasted great! But I was not expecting to wait that long for a coffee. It seems like iced drinks tend to come out way faster. They also have an order online option which may be the better way to go. Not sure if online orders are prioritized to be faster, but the wait time will probably keep me from coming back to this location if I'm being honest. Usually I'm not even one to post a review just because I know how yelp reviews can be a lot of the time...but I felt this warranted a review. My partner and I are pretty big coffee people, we both work in coffee. We have a setup at home and frequent places in our area to see what's good and what great coffee is out there, and we'd both worked in an MB coffee shop in the past and had heard so much about how good goodboybob is so we really were excited to try. We ordered the BBL (house made brown butter syrup latte) and the side show Bob (an espresso and a pourover). We were pretty disappointed with the quality of the shot and the pourover--both were incredibly under-extracted: the shot was sour and the pourover pretty much tasted like water. The BBL I can see folks liking if they like sweet drinks, but it was soooo sweet. Not really docking anything for that cause I know some people love their sweet drinks but it just didn't do anything for me. Mostly just disappointed that I paid about $20 for three items that didn't really reflect the quality we paid for. Not super impressed with them. Two stars just for sheer quality of product received. The staff were super nice and friendly but drinks were disappointing. read more

Went here two days in a row because I needed to try the weekend cinnamon roll and regretted not getting it the first time around. The cinnamon roll looks better than it tastes.. but it does look exceptional so the standards are high. It didn't have much cinnamon flavor other than the frosting, mostly just bread. It wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. The coffee is good but a little bitter, depends on your taste. I got a cold brew with vanilla and it was quite sweet so I'd recommend getting it half sweet if you don't like it super sweet. I liked the coffee and the vibe of the shop, plus a great place to walk to when in Manhattan Beach. read more

Manhattan Beach is such a lovely haven and located here is this awesome little coffee shop. After a quick run at the beach, I Yelped for a local coffee shop nearby and found this place. Luckily enough, they had matcha. There's no seating inside but there's some outside. I ordered an iced matcha with vanilla and was ready quicker than I thought. Though it was not prepared with the traditional teaware (chawan and chasen), I was surprised with how much of the bitterness of the matcha I could taste. It's located in the heart of Manhattan Beach (the corner of Highland ave and 13th street) gives surfers and beach visitors the ideal coffee kick just steps from the pier. We genuinely drove from Orange County to this place to visit Manhattan and have a solid beach day and enjoy the breakfast burrito. Low and behold, they do not serve the breakfast burrito at this location and I was genuinely so disappointed because we brought friends to try their burrito since it was one of the best burritos I have ever had in my life. They have breakfast options but like half the menu from their Santa Monica location. Was a big let down and huge bummer. However, my wife pointed out that they have a cosmic Ube drink that saved the day because my wife and I love a good Ube and Matcha Latte. Well, to our luck and the food gods, we were able to get both and the Ube Matcha was honestly very good. The Ube was the perfect amount and matcha was not over powering. Great flavor and sweetness that was not overbearing. I would definitely recommend getting their Ube Matcha with whole milk and give it mix and great option.
