The barista was friendly, and crafted the drinks with love. The price was average. The taste of the beans were great. More nutty flavor than typical Central American acidic flavor. Located in an office building and appears to be co-located with Stoke Salad. We ordered two hot chocolates and a matcha w honey lavender. The drinks were good. They didn't have much to snack on but I tried the blueberry crumble and it was tasty...moist, not too sweet and a good portion. This is more of a coffee spot but served our purpose over the holiday break while we waited for scooter jungles to open. Service was friendly and prompt. read more

If you're in the area, this is definitely a place to stop by. Awesome coffee and matcha in a pretty nice location. Baristas were helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to provide solid coffee spots in other cities as well. Only knock on this place is it's hard to find but once you know where it is, it'll be a place you'll want to come back to. read more

I'm sorry, Bar Nine, but in my opinion using this bottled product to make espresso drinks does not provide the type of experience that serious coffee drinkers are looking for. The crema and rich oils are long gone, and the coffee flavor is muted. When mixed with any kind of milk (oat milk, in my case) the milk flavor easily dominates, resulting in an unbalanced, overly sweet drink. It seems like it's more designed for people that like coffee drinks but don't actually like coffee. While I understand the argument that you take variability out of the equation, I don't think this is actually a good argument. When we go out to eat or drink , we don't expect every meal or drink to be identical. The nuances of each experience are one of the things that create the "spice of life". So, interesting concept but not for me at all and I ended up tossing my drink. The reason I gave two stars and not one is that the service was great and the staff was very friendly. read more

They have cute seating inside but probably isn't somewhere you're going to be staying more than 15 or so minutes, unless you sit somewhere else in the giant building it's located in. Bar nine is inside an office complex, which can be a bit confusing to get to the first time if you don't work in the complex. It's got a minimalist aesthetic to it and all their food looks so good. The spinach danish and the kimchi spam croissant were both better than the cookie. Kimchi croissant was salty but the spinach cheese danish was very yummy. Their chai latte was just ok. The staff here are very friendly though. I walked from my office so am not sure about whether you can get validated parking here or not. You can hang out at the office building and there's lots of seating so that's pretty cool if you need a place to drink coffee n get some work done read more

My, how this company has fallen. Bar nine used to be one of the better, cutting edge, 3rd wave coffee shops in LA. When they closed their location in Culver City, I was bummed about it, even if quality had fallen off and prices had fallen up over the years. Seeing this new location pop up, I was curious to check it out. It fails on nearly every front. Existing inside of a creepy, looming office building, the cafe has no windows and feels like you're in some strange airport. The coffee is bitter, not dialed and feels like an afterthought. I ordered a ham sandwich on a croissant and it took a while to make. Additionally, half of it was warm and the other half was freezing. The batista was nice enough but honestly I felt bad for him. It seemed like he hadn't seen a person in weeks. There was limited free parking and some nice outdoor seating at the office complex but honestly this place gave me the creeps and I didn't want to stay any longer than I absolutely had to. Was happy this location opened up since it is closer to me (and parking is easier to find) than their Culver location. They currently only have one or two baristas/staff but it doesn't typically get too crowded where there is a long wait. They do charge $1 for their reusable glass jars the first time you order but they swap out your jar for a new one each time you bring it back. As an alternative, I've also seen someone bring their own reusable cup and they accepted that. My go-to is an oat latte with their flora beans. I've tried all three beans (excl. the decaf) and enjoyed this combo best. Aside from the coffee, I've tried their pan au apricot which they offered to warm up for me. The pastries are a bit on the pricier side but this one was worth it. The pastry was delicious, flaky on the outside and the bits of apricot added a bit of fruitiness and sweetness to it. All their pastries come from a bakery in the Hollywood area and they just started adding some sandwiches to their menu. They currently offer a caprese and will soon offer an Italian sandwich which I am excited to try! For those unfamiliar with the area, this location is tucked away inside the complex with Liquid IV and Quest Nutrition but there is free parking off Aviation. Look for signs to direct you - you'll turn right for parking (to avoid going through the gate and getting a ticket). They did do free validation but not sure if that is still ongoing so I'd recommend parking in the free spots outside the gates. This spot is fairly new. A company favorite at my job because it is conveniently across the street. It's in a peaceful area. Lots and lots of space to get work done or sit with friends to enjoy your coffee. Their pastries and treats are pretty good. Ham & cheese one is my favorite! I didn't love the reusable mason jar concept but now that they switched paper cups, I enjoy the coffee more frequently. They really know their coffee and the staff is so friendly. read more

One of the things I truly admire about Bar 9 is their entrepreneurial spirit. They're not afraid to innovate and experiment--like bottling their espresso (which is phenomenal, by the way). Their syrups are made in-house, and you can taste the care in every detail. Kevin is a gem. He remembers our orders by heart and is meticulous when it comes to crafting each drink. Everything is measured and balanced to perfection. The level of customer service here is unmatched--warm, genuine, and always accommodating. Food-wise? You cannot miss the olive oil cake and cinnamon rolls. Seriously. Just do it. As for drinks, my go-to is the honey lavender latte with oat milk--it's divine. My boyfriend is loyal to the mocha with macadamia milk. We never change it up, and I think that says a lot. When something's that good, there's just no need. I visited twice. It was little confused to park at first, but there are plenty when you turn right when facing the building. It's kind of hidden in the office building, but it's pretty cool place. The staff is really friendly and nice. The pastries are little pricey range $6-7, BUT!! They are soooooo delicious! I don't usually leave reviews unless I must share it because it's so good, or it's so bad. You need to purchase the glass for $1 for coffee, and you bring it back if you don't want to pay next visit. I like the idea avoiding one time use paper or plastic cups. I get that their freshly roasted coffee is their specialty and it was good but I would go back for their pastries. I tried spinach, kimchi and spam, bacon and cheese scone, White miso kouign-amann, ham and cheese, black forest one. Everything was so yummy! My favorite was spinach for savory and black forest for sweet. The white miso one was surprisingly unique and delicious!-Crunchy Sweet caramel flavor with nutty croissant!
