The cortado I had was good. The cafe still needs some works since it is pretty new. I will definitely come back.

Bar nine is inside an office complex, which can be a bit confusing to get to the first time if you don't work in the complex. It's got a minimalist aesthetic to it and all their food looks so good. The spinach danish and the kimchi spam croissant were both better than the cookie. Kimchi croissant was salty but the spinach cheese danish was very yummy. Their chai latte was just ok. The staff here are very friendly though. I walked from my office so am not sure about whether you can get validated parking here or not. You can hang out at the office building and there's lots of seating so that's pretty cool if you need a place to drink coffee n get some work done

right outside the coffee shop that is within the corporate building.

This spot is fairly new. A company favorite at my job because it is conveniently across the street. It's in a peaceful area. Lots and lots of space to get work done or sit with friends to enjoy your coffee. Their pastries and treats are pretty good. Ham & cheese one is my favorite! I didn't love the reusable mason jar concept but now that they switched paper cups, I enjoy the coffee more frequently. They really know their coffee and the staff is so friendly.

Did I just find a new local coffee spot.....I think I did tears of joy as not many cafes know how to make a good espresso based drink. Service was exceptional. The recommendation was a honey lavender latte with macadamia milk. Location was also pretty cool, inside an office building, and not as inconvenient as I originally thought. 30 minute free parking and cafe located on the far right, once you enter the office building.

    Cappuccino

Not great. Website bills itself as an espresso place so was excited to try. Shot tasted okay but was milk was steamed poorly, not a good cappuccino.

I just want a good medium roast cup of coffee that doesn't taste burnt to hell. They have it. Almost no where else in El Segundo does.

I'm not a fan of coffee so I'm always deciding between their mochi, fresh fruit, or iced teas etc. My go-to drinks are the Yuzu Citrus No. 8 and Jasmine Frost Iced Tea (less sweet for both options). The Yuzu Citrus has the perfect amount of tang with a slight sweetness that cuts through the acidity. The tea flavor manages to shine through the fruitiness, and overall the flavors pair well with one another. The Jasmine Frost Iced Tea is very aromatic and brewed to really highlight the Jasmine. My boyfriend normally gets the mochi mango which has soft chunks of mochi mixed, and tart/sweet mango puree. I appreciate how the smoothie is never icy, and has a creamy texture. There are plenty of seating options for people, whether it's socializing or studying. It gets pretty busy and wait-times can vary greatly; I would recommend ordering ahead of time. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The only issue I have with the spot is that the drinks do tend to be on the more expensive side, with drinks ranging from $7-9. The matcha drinks are also not the highest quality, and often the matcha tastes quite diluted. Overall a solid spot!

Laura and Carol were especially warm, cheerful, and attentive, which made the experience even better. We ordered the chilaquiles and the breakfast sandwich, and both were fantastic. The chilaquiles were fresh and full of flavor with crispy tortilla chips topped with a rich green sauce, egg, cheese, and red onion. The breakfast sandwich was a generous portion on a warm brioche bun with thick bacon, egg, chipotle sauce, and fresh greens. We also tried the churros, which were clearly made fresh to order. They were not overly sweet, perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The horchata coffee was absolutely divine and something I would come back just for. Everything here is made fresh, and you can taste the difference. The outdoor seating area with music created such a joyful, relaxing atmosphere and made the whole morning feel special. We understand places get busy with little staff but the cashier/barista yelled at both my boyfriend and her co worker. When I ordered there was four seperate customers behind me which we all ordered similar items as me. We thought she called our order first which was a misunderstanding on our part the barista then yelled at her co worker saying "it's not his" "i said it's not his" then when my boyfriend backs up she yells "it's not yours!" It was a simple mistake but did not mean she could yell at her co worker and a paying customer. Like I said we understand first hand being understaffed since my boyfriend and I work in the hospitality/food business. But the barista was just wiping the counter while she had 4 drinks without lids then it took her even longer to take our order plus 2 other customers orders came out when we all ordered similar items (just beverages.)

It's delicious, and I love to drink through the cream on top before later swirling it a bit. The matcha ginger date scone is the best scone I've ever had in my life. I'm not usually a scone person. Perfect amount of sweetness and balance. It's good to split with someone, and don't forget to get it heated up. When I'm feeling matcha, I get the Vienna matcha (with oat milk). It's really good. This place can get busy, so order ahead online if you don't want to miss out on treats. And don't forget your jacket. It's cold inside, as they need to cool the place for their espresso machine (or so I was told). They've changed up the chairs a bit to improve the ambiance, but it's more of a spot to grab a drink and go than hang out. My fav coffee shop in Gardena.

I've been to their downtown Los Angeles location before, but I have to say this one is much more comfortable and just really nice. I like that they have a patio area, so if you feel like sitting outside, that's always an option. I also like the overall atmosphere--it feels warm, welcoming, and relaxing. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy a meal, and feel comfortable. The food was amazing--delicious and great in every way. The servers, waiters, and waitresses were all very friendly and did an excellent job of making us feel welcomed. My wife and I both ordered omelets. I got the potatoes on the side, and my wife got some fruit. We also ordered an extra side of pancakes. She had hot tea, and I got black coffee, which was really delicious. It was so much food that I couldn't finish it, and that's saying something because I was really hungry! The portions were very generous. I also have to mention all the pastries they have. It's like being a kid in a candy store. The selection is almost overwhelming--but in the best way possible. Of course, my dog Bob benefited from the leftovers... lol. Everything was good, and I definitely plan on coming back again. I totally recommend trying either location, You will not be disappointed.

It is a well crafted dessert coffee. Lots of places have flavored drinks that either feel like the coffee is incidental/nonexistent, or they feel like coffee with a La Croix hint of whatever flavor is advertised. The Amai banana turon, on the other hand, is beautifully balanced. It's like eating a slice of salted caramel banana bread while drinking a latte. Both flavors are fully present and complement each other. I usually avoid foam, since I can find the texture unappealing, especially when it feels close to bubble bath suds. The foam at Amai is thick and creamy and genuinely added to the drink.

This review is regarding a visit on June 1 between approximately 12:10 PM and 12:30 PM…read more I am leaving this feedback as a regular customer who has purchased different matcha drinks from this business on multiple occasions. I have consistently enjoyed visiting this location, which is why I am sharing this experience in detail rather than simply not returning. On this visit, I ordered the House Matcha with almond milk and paid $7.75. The drink was significantly underfilled, which resulted from my request for no ice. While I understand that removing ice can affect volume, the amount of empty space at the top of the cup made it feel like I received less than a full drink despite paying the full price. In addition, I was charged for an almond milk substitution, which further contributed to the expectation of a properly filled drink. The cup size also raised concerns. I recently ordered a Banana Cream Matcha at the same price point and received a noticeably larger cup. On this visit, the House Matcha was served in a smaller cup, and even the sleeve did not fit correctly. The combination of a smaller cup and reduced fill level created an inconsistency in value that was immediately noticeable. The most significant issue was that the drink contained no sweetness at all. The House Matcha is described as "perfectly sweet matcha" and includes agave syrup, so it is reasonable to expect sweetness as part of the standard preparation. Instead, the drink was completely unsweetened. There was no communication during ordering that sweetness needed to be selected separately, and in prior visits I have never been asked about sweetness level. This is also not the first time I have received a matcha drink without sweetness despite it being described otherwise. By the time I realized, I had already left the store and was unable to return due to time commitments, and it does not feel reasonable that multiple preparation issues should require a return visit. It is also concerning that there is no clear pricing listed next to the different matcha options in the matcha section of the menu. The lack of visible prices makes it difficult to understand the cost of each drink at the point of ordering and reduces transparency for customers. From a broader perspective, consistency issues across cup size, fill level, and recipe execution affect the overall experience. I regularly purchase specialty drinks and would be comfortable paying $7.75 if the product consistently matched the menu description, portioning was accurate, and expectations were clearly communicated at the point of sale. As someone who visits this plaza several times per month, I would genuinely like to continue supporting this business and have consistently positive experiences. That depends on clearer communication, more consistent preparation standards, and attention to detail during both ordering and fulfillment. At home, I am able to prepare matcha easily using a variety of milks, including almond, oat, coconut, cashew, pistachio, banana, and pea protein, along with simple sweeteners such as agave, maple syrup, honey, and organic brown sugar. I also keep ingredients such as whipped cream, sea salt, strawberries on hand, blueberries, and mango, allowing me to make specialty drinks like strawberry matcha, blended matcha with frozen strawberries, or other customized variations. Because of that, the value of a café drink comes down to consistency, accuracy, and convenience rather than ingredients alone. If issues such as inconsistent cup sizes, underfilling, missing ingredients, or unclear customization options are occurring across orders, it may point to a need for improved staff training and clearer standardization. Addressing these areas would likely improve the experience for both regular and first-time customers. I hope this feedback is received as constructive input from a returning customer meant to improve overall customer satisfaction and repeat business.
