This cafe is a nice spot to work and hang out with friends while having your coffee. However, as of Monday 7/ 6/ 26, Hawthorne started for the first time to charge for parking along hawthorne blvd. This has never been a thing in all of Hawthornes history here. I got a ticket while I was in the cafe. I suggested to the people working there that they should warn their customers as this is new to all of us from here. They said, and I quote "they have signs everywhere and the signs are there for a reason." There was no need to say this in this way. Rude, dismissive, and no they had no intention to help tell their customers. If you are part of this community its because you want support us as much as we support you guys. Straight up just don't care. Not sure I want to support this business any more. read more

Checked out this spot for fun first time and really liked the atmosphere. It's spacious, plenty of spots to get work done, plus WiFi and board games, which is a nice touch. I tried the açaí bowl, and the best part is the unlimited toppings. I'd recommend getting the regular size, the price difference is $2, but the portion is noticeably larger. The bowl was overall okay. I've heard good things about the matcha, so I'd probably try a drink next time. This is place is in a great spot and it was easy to find. I'm from out of town so whenever I visit LA I like to discover different coffee shops. I really wanted to like this one because the service was so great & the place was so cute and clean. The coffee was ok and the food was also ok. I've been to Soft cafe a few times and I'm hooked. I tried their regular matcha latte at half sweet and it was perfect. The matcha is hand whisked to order and has a grassy earthy taste. I've been meaning to try this cafe for the longest time! I actually tried stopping by one weekend, but the line was so long that I decided to skip it for a weekday. Finally, one Tuesday afternoon, I bombarded my colleague and asked her if she wanted to go on an adventure with me...she said yes! So, we embarked on a trip to Soft Cafe. When we arrived, there were still quite a few people inside, but the line was surprisingly short. We noticed they had a special Summer Menu featuring a tropical lemonade, mango matcha, spirulina latte, and coconut matcha. I should mention that everything was iced. My colleague ordered the mango matcha, while I went with the matcha topped with banana cream. We tried each other's drinks, and wow. The mango matcha was delicious. It tasted so fresh and authentic that I genuinely wondered if they pureed the mango themselves. The matcha flavor was strong, bold, and didn't get lost in the mango. As for my drink, the banana cream top was incredible. It tasted like someone blended a sweet ripe me. Even though the cafe was busy, the baristas were friendly, efficient, and kept things moving. They had board games, some small tables, and people either chatting with friends or working on their laptops. I'll definitely be back. I want to try their coffee! read more

A super cool coffee place. I actually found it on Yelp and the reviews were pretty accurate. I'll start out with what was a miss for me and then finish with why you should still check it out. On top of that, it was super cold. Maybe they made it so cold so the laptop campers would pack it up sooner. It's a beautiful space and they add a lot to the business area. Street parking is plentiful right in front. A woman with awesome glasses took our order. We both had one of their craft lemonades. They were way too sweet, even sweeter than a soda pop. I wish there was a way to order the level of sweetness you want. The woman who served us was so kind we didn't have the heart to send them back. Soft is the perfect coffee shop. From the ambiance to the amazing drinks. I ordered a large, iced chai latte and added vanilla flavor. It was pretty tasty. They have a pretty nice size menu of coffees, tea, matcha's, and food items. There is also plenty of tables in the inside and a few seats outside. (Can you tell I'm afraid of asking for things that aren't on the menu? I'm irrationally afraid people will boo and/or spit on me) matcha was $6 and 1.5 extra for the cream when I went. It was very yummy and the experience and drink was worth it even though it's a bit expensive to me (which is everything these days so it's pretty reasonable and seems like the standard now) still worth it compared to other places anyway. The barista was also probably one of the friendliest and most attentive I've ever witnessed?? When I was leaving he unprompted asked if I wanted him to refill my water cup. I was planning on just eating the ice from that empty cup in the car because I was dehydrated but didn't feel like asking for water a second time. This man single-handedly saved me from shriveling up out of dehydration so shoutout to him. Very impressive social and drink-making skills. The ambiance was also very nice and cute. I came to this cafe last week. It looked like a nice place to grab a coffee and a pastry. I found a parking spot right out front. You need to veer off the main part of Hawthorne Blvd at 129th St and go into the little lane alongside the businesses. I missed this the first time and circled around the block. It was quiet and nearly all the seats were taken. I almost walked out because I wanted to dine in. I had the option of sitting on the couch near the front or at the bar height counter near the back. I chose the latter. I ordered a French Lavender Latte & Cherry Croissant at the counter and waited. It was ready quite quickly. I appreciated my Latte being served in a real cup. The presentation could have been neat, but it was a bit awkward. My coffee cup was put on an oval board along with my pastry which was in a wax paper bag. I was a bit disappointed it wasn't served on a plate. It wasn't great for pictures nor for eating. Anyways... other than for the plating, both were delicious! I enjoyed my French Lavender Latte! I loved the Cherry Croissant which reminded me of a Danish. It was so good that I bought one for my husband to try! They have an Açai bar & Artisan Ice Cream that I'd love to try. I recently stopped by Soft Cafe for a quick pick-me-up after seeing that there was a new coffee shop on Yelp. Soft Cafe is a cute little spot on Hawthorne Blvd with parking options behind the store. The inside is modern yet homey. They offer coffee, tea, açaí bowls, grab and go foods, and ice cream. There's a place to read (with books) and a large tic-tac-toe. There's also a small area for little ones to color. I wanted matcha and was debating between the banana soft cloud matcha and strawberry matcha latte. I ended up going with the banana because I love cloud foam. The drink is priced at $7.75 and while it was delicious, the cup was really small (I'm not sure of the oz). I'm sure it takes a lot of work to make it that yummy but it was on the pricey side. My boyfriend got the cold brew, which he liked. All in all, good drinks and a cute place. read more

The setting wasn't anything like recently flourishing ones with minimalistic monochrome design or cutesy boho theme. It somehow gave me that classic more old-school vibe. It was moderately busy yet not overly loud, which was awesome. I could see a lot of guests did go for their acai bowls which came in different serving sizes and the toppings were customizable. I was kinda stuffed so only going for their Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, which wasn't bad but not impressive either. The Madagascar Vanilla Latte I opted for was satisfying, served extra hot precisely as I requested. The 16oz with almond milk substitution ended up costing $9.75 pre tax and tip; kinda pricey IMO but I guessed it's LA tag (IYKYK). Cute little coffee shop in Hawthorne. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is gorgeous/elegant and feels like a great place to study/get some work done. I got an iced vanilla latte and a salmon croissant. The latte was perfectly sweet and creamy, while the croissant was pillowy soft and the salmon had all the flavor I was looking for. They added cream cheese, avocado, some greens, and cucumbers, which perfectly complemented/completed the croissant. The lemon pastry is pretty good, tastes like your normal lemon loaf. However as I went in the lady was super nice but she seemed super stressed at the same time. I got a strawberry matcha and a lavender latte. The lavender syrup and the strawberry were really good but something that ticked me off was the fact that she charged me for the 12oz cups knowing she didn't have any. She gave me the 8oz cups and only until the end that's when she said she knew she didn't have any 12 oz cups since they had just gotten delivered. Another thing was that the drinks were super rushed. I feel like the drinks would've tasted better if she would've taken the time to do them correctly and not rushed. The place itself was really nice and aesthetic. However, next time don't lie to your customers, if you don't have something I would rather be let known than be charged extra without knowing. It's about time Hawthorne gets cool stuff. I find myself driving to El Segundo because Hawthorne is limited in options and has no spaces for community members to come together. I visited Soft right after their official opening and it was alright. I did not like the drink I got. But honestly maybe I ordered the wrong thing. It's been a few months now and I decided to visit again. I love the space. There are always people sitting working, studying or chatting. Good quality matcha but you do need to get double shots like two extra shots for it to be strong but once it's strong it's really smooth and you taste the notes of matcha.
