I told the barista is was my first time here and she was really helpful and welcoming. Told her I had a nut allergy so she was very understanding. I had the Belgium mocha I think it's called. Iced with extra ice cuz I like my drinks cold cold. The taste was amazing, kind of like dark chocolate but having that coffee taste. 10/10. The inside is really cozy and I love the fountain they got in the corner. Parking is no issue. U can park near the outside spots or in the neighborhood area. I started coming here with my chihuahua after her sister passed away, and we were both feeling pretty down. I was so grateful to discover that this place is dog friendly--it gave us somewhere warm and welcoming to go while we healed. Every time I visit, the staff is genuinely kind and makes me feel right at home. This a nice cafe along Hawthorne boulevard. Growing up I don't think we've had a cute local feeling (not hipster) cafe in the area. It's a lot larger inside than it look from the outside, has tall ceilings. I went on a weekday morning and it took a while for my latte. Granted there was only one worker who I can tell was trying her best and there were about 3-4 orders in front of me that ordered acai bowls. But I was still willing to wait and support. The cafe is decorated cute, it's very clean and inviting with some available seating but it fills up quickly as people come to study. The times I've been here I've only seen the same 2 people behind the register so the service has been okay. The same woman who took orders also made the drinks so it was a bit of a wait at the counter while you watch her make the drinks as she finishes to come and take the next order. There's not many employees from what I can tell so it just takes more time than you'd hope. However the drinks are pretty good, I've had their vanilla latte and their tira misu latte. We ordered the French lavender latte (7.7/10) & banana soft cloud matcha (8.8/10). For someone who is a huge fan of banana and matcha, that drink was chuggable! Service was amazing and they were very helpful when it came to ordering our drinks! It was about 2-3 of us customers this Sunday morning... total 3 baristas behind the bar and it seemed like they were lost. My favorite cafe!! This place is truly special. The coffee is excellent & you can feel how much care and love goes into every order. It's become my go-to spot to bring my laptop and work because the vibe is awesome, the seating is comfortable, and there are plenty of outlets. Their açaí bowls and snacks are amazing, and the owners are constantly adding creative new items to the menu like the carrot cake latte. so whenever I'm in the area, this is my definite go to for either lunch post workout meal. They have an amazing croissant menu. I love the Capri sandwich whatever sauce they use. I don't know if it's like a mix between pesto and avocado. As a mixed-race person, it was uncomfortable noticing that the staff was all white in a diverse city like Hawthorne, and the way we were stared at felt uninviting. * I came in at 9:05am, just five minutes after opening, and things already felt unprepared. I really wanted to like this place since it's in my neighborhood, but overall it didn't feel like a warm, inclusive café experience. My only issue is that it is really expensive! $10 for a large Matcha is just a little bit too much for me and I can find cheaper elsewhere. But locally?
